Is Charlotte's PPV streak still a thing? I can remember that being a thing for a while there.

2012 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
I didn't log onto the forums until after the show. Alright, going to review this match by match...here we go!

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was okay. For the most part, battle royals are going to feel pretty meaningless if there isn't something at stake, like a number 1 contender spot for a title, the battle royal they did on Raw for #1 Contender for the IC title with Jeff winning was awesome! I was very into it because we knew whoever was going to win, was going to get some sort of little push. Winning the ATG MBR is like...meh. Sure, they say whoever wins it, their career SKYROCKETS but then you have stinkers like Mojo and Baron Corbin winning who either don't know how to wrestle or just aren't entertaining. It was pretty predictable that Matt was going to win though it would have been awesome to see Tye Dillinger, Zack Ryder, or even Dolph Ziggler win it. But meh, what can you do you.

The finals for the cruiserweight championship was good. I felt that it should have been Drew Gulak in the finals against Cedric as those were the two who were most over, but Ali put up a great match. No doubt he's fun to watch too, but it was only okay. This too was a pretty predictable win as well because you sort of got the feeling that it was going to be Cedric who was going to take the title off Enzo to begin with but once those plans fell through, you knew that Cedric was going to be the next title holder. Overall, it was a good match.

The WM Women's Battle Royal was....okay. I was convinced that either Sasha or Bayley were going to win or perhaps even Becky, but I was okay with Naomi winning the match to be honest. Was just weird how they did the finish. I don't recall her ever going under the ropes only to reappear when it appeared Bayley got the win but eh...okay.

The opening of the show, you needed to have a fantastic match to bring this show to life and boy did these three do that. First off, their entrances were pretty awesome. I loved all three. The fact that Finn usually has a pretty routine entrance but decided to have the LGBT+ community come out with him, honesty was awesome. I follow him on IG and he's always proudly supporting them, so that was great. Rollins entrance with the fire, great. The Miz telling Bo and Curtis to go back, awesome. This match was good storytelling and good wrestling. One gripe about this match, was Rollins kicking out of the Skull Crushing Finale when Finn is LITERALLY LAYING RIGHT NEXT TO THEM! FINN, THAT IS A FINISHING MOVE THAT ENDS MATCHES AND YOU'RE LAYING THERE LETTING THIS HAPPEN! Surely you aren't too out of it to plop onto them to break up the count. I felt that, if we got Demon Balor, he was going to win and if we didn't, Rollins was going to win. But this was probably my favorite match of the night. I loved it.

Oh man oh man...I was so very disappointed that this match was the second match on the card. Surely Nia v Bliss should of had this spot I thought. But then I was thinking, oh then it's for sure that Carmella is going to cash in if that match is later on, because they want the MITB cash in to have a big moment...nope! Anyways, this was a great match but what really sucked, was I paused this match at the beginning because it was dinner time and we had to take care of the kids and get them situated...then one of my buddies sends me a text (who earlier had said he was working and was going to watch WM much later on) spoiling the end of the match because he decided to turn on WM on his phone while working...that right there sucked me right out of this match, took away all hype and deflated this match for me. I didn't get the opportunity to freak out and be pissed off as it happened, because I knew what the finish was. It was cool seeing my wife and our friends enjoy the shock finish but I felt that this match needed to be a tad bit longer to really get this going. Very disappointed the streak ended here. Great match though, just not long enough.

The US Title match was...okay. I thought Rusev was going to win but honestly, I'm glad he didn't. It sucks that he ate the pin but I think if Rusev would have won this match, he would be staying on the mid card of the show and with his current popularity and how over he is...he's hopefully going to be feuding in the main event spot. Maybe we get an AJ/Naka rematch and Naka wins the title who then feuds with Rusev (because clearly Rusev is face). So I was okay with Jinder winning, this is where he belongs, in the mid card. I think a lot of you guys saying Rusev needs to bounce because of this loss, just a bit of an overreaction. I'm hoping this leads to a much bigger push for him. Let's try to think positive for our dude Rusev.

Now this match...I've got to admit, blew my expectations out of the water. It's clear that Ronda still needs work in the ring, but she's not as far away as we all were thinking. She delivered. Plain and simple. Trips and Kurt are able to put on a decent match if they aren't in the ring for longer than 10-15 minutes, so that was good. Ronda did very well but like I said, she still needs a lot of work, but the potential for stardom is definitely there. Could you imagine if she was going through NXT first where she'd be able to work on her in ring work, her promos, etc? She wouldn't even need to win the NXT Women's title, just needs that experience. Great match. I was entertained.

The SmackDown Live Tag Title match was awesome. I loved it. A good beat down by Harper and Rowan to really show how dominate they're going to be. Harper needed a good push because the dude is so talented. I was excited that he was getting a bit of a push last year and then it just fell off the face of the earth but now with him and Rowan dominating the tag team division, it's great. We needed a tag team like them. I thought Gallows and Anderson were going to get this treatment when they came to WWE (it's what should have happened to be honest) but I'll settle for Harper and Rowan.

We all knew this was going to happen, Taker v Cena at Mania. I LOVED the troll by Elias, fantastic heel heat. A squash match for the Undertaker to send him off, great job John. He sold the build well, sold the beat down well. I enjoyed the memes this caused with Cena running to the back. "Hey John, they got a sale on jean shorts across the street!" "Hey John, mom got pizza rolls made!" etc etc. Was pretty gold. HOPEFULLY this is the last time we see Undertaker wrestle in the WWE. Please have the willpower like HBK. No more matches! No more matches!

I thought that having Shane and DBry come out first was whack because it would have made the pop for DBry that much better, but then I liked it much better when KO and Sami jumped them and started the match the way they did. I honestly thought they were going to stretcher DB out and have it be a 2:1 match with DBry's music hitting mid match to come back out.....but I was okay with him just chilling on the side. This match was a swerve too as I thought Shane was either going to turn or inadvertently bump into Bryan to cause a Pop-Up Power Bomb or something...buuuuttttt I guess I'll take this. I think this means KO/Sami are headed to Raw and perhaps Finn and The Good Brothers move to SDL? Great comeback match though for DB. He looks like he hasn't lost a step. Maybe DB takes the title off Brock? Hahaha

Now this match would have been much better, if this was switched with Charlotte v Asuka. If they weren't going to have Carmella cash in....why have it this far into the show? It was fine, Nia works well as a monster face. She dominated the match like she should have, Bliss sold it well. I loved Twisted Bliss to the outside. That was a pretty awesome spot. The Samoan Drop off the second rope for Nia was pretty good too. Also, I have to mention this, but Nia Jax is losing quite a bit of weight. When they first started announcing her weight, they were saying she was anywhere from 325-330, now she's down to 272! I also follow her on IG and she's definitely putting in work! Very happy for her in that aspect. It was a much needed win for her and I'm excited to see how she holds the fort down on Raw.

AJ/Shin...oh boy. First of all, I need to give credit to Nita Strauss for her guitar work on Shin's theme. She's an amazing guitarist, I saw her live with Alice Cooper, she's so freaking talented. She killed it with the solo and everything. So so good. Now for the match...It's not that this match wasn't good. It was good guys! But it did fall short. They didn't build it up right, the match was stuck at one pace but I think that's because they knew they were turning Shin heel. This could have been much better, their match at WK was obviously better but I was okay with this match. I enjoyed it, I felt it needed just a bit longer to really finish the storytelling of the match. But I was happy to see Shin give AJ a Kinshasa before he left. I had higher expectations for this match but I think part of the reason it fell a bit flat was the booking decision to turn him heel.

The Bar v Braun/Nicholas. I get it. This was clearly a Make-a-Wish thing. I'm fine with it, they'll figure something out for Raw. It was a cool moment, the after math of this with Braun walking back stage with Nicholas was awesome, seeing Braun beaming with joy. But as sweet and touching as this was...truth is, we were robbed of a potential great tag team match. With The Bar as hot as they are, with Braun as hot as he is...everyone was so hyped to see who his partner was going to be...is it going to be Neville? Samoa Joe? Please not the Big Show, please not Kane. Oh, perhaps Lashley? Maybe even Big Cass?! No...it was a young child. Very cool moment for him though, he had the best seat in the house. Literally on the apron watching in awe (and scared too). If you were paying attention and not heading to the bathroom, you could see the ref was making damn sure that no one went anywhere near that corner. When Braun bounced off the ropes, he didn't hit them in the middle like you're supposed to do, he bounced off them towards the far end to protect him. Oh well, it is what it is. I'm happy for Nicholas but we were robbed of a great match. Like someone mentioned, this would of been better at a much smaller PPV.

7 German suplexes, 5 belly to belly suplexes, 6 F5s, 5 Superman Punches, 3 Spears, 2 clothelines to the outside, a couple of elbows to the dom...it was an okay match. I think the crowd chanted what they did because they were under the impression that Roman was going to win and they didn't want to see that. I think if this match was more split, like "oh, I honestly don't know who's going to win this...", the crowd wouldn't have reacted the way they did. But that cut to Roman was brutal. He was gushing blood and I think the match had to end as quick as it did after that happened. But the whole story was, the F5 put people away first time every time the past year. It took Braun out, Joe out, AJ out, Kane...hell, he even beat Roman with just one F5 at SummerSlam! But this match was to tell a story, this was Vince trolling us all. Think back to when he kicked out of two (or three?) Styles Clashes including one on top of a chair, etc. Vince loves toying with our emotions because we were all pretty certain that Roman was going to keep kicking out of the F5, blood pouring from his dom, and then become the new champ...but thankfully it didn't go that way. Hopefully tonight, when Brock comes out and gets cheered and then Roman comes out and gets booed, it'll make Roman go...you're still cheering this part timer over me?! and we just see this massive Roman heel turn where he goes on a path of destruction. We need a Roman heel turn, Roman needs a Roman heel turn. He has potential to be the BEST heel in the company. Do it Vince.

Overall...it was an entertaining show. I liked it, wasn't pleased with some of the booking or the match decisions...but what can you do? Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Best moment of the night?
