By div 1 getting the first 20 rounds followed by 20 rounds for div 2 teams there'll be around 20ppg difference per player.

This will come to around 400 SC points or 20 match points (match points = Team SC total divided by 20)

That's really just 4 gun players and through good trading it would be very possible for a couple of div 2 teams to get themselves up with the lower ranked div 1 teams within a season.

It's possible to alter the amount of rounds div 1 get to themselves before div 2 get their picks which would alter the average differences between the divisions.

It could easily become 10ppg or 15ppg with some slight adjustments.

I'm in Div 2 and don't mind 20ppg difference but would prefer something around 15ppg.

Div 2 teams will probably get a priority pick each in each draft too (after this year's draft) so they will have better access to the best kids.
Div 1 teams will have to trade for top 16 picks which will allow div 2 teams the opportunity to trade their top picks for more quality

Have to remember the Div.2 clubs are the only ones that can get their hands on Cotchin/Palmer/Kreuzer etc etc, and then of course this years draftees.

I'm sure that will certainly boost their lists, and also gives them some great leverage when trading if they want to get a big name player in return.

Yeah, if the current 1st year players are excluded from the div 1 exclusive picks and all 2nd div teams get a priority pick every year I think it's fair for Div 1 to pick in the first 20 rounds.

As soon as we've decided on the last Div 1 spot we can get the draft going.

18, 20 or 22 rounds?

I reckon 18 now.

18 Div 1, 18 Div 2, then all in for the rest?

All in a mirror draft

sounds good to me. ensures that div 1 sides are a cut above the div 2 sides but also ensures that div 2 sides will be able to stand up when promoted dues to the young talent they'll acquire.
