We use the Super Coach scores to calculate the team scores.

Teams need to be named in realistic positions so yes, you will need to draft key forwards and key backs or you'll be playing a few short in your games.

Teams will consist of 22 players and 3 emergencies to be submitted in the following format...

B: A.Defender, A.Keydefender, A.Defender
HB: A.Defender, A.Keydefender, A.Defender
C: A.Midfielder, A.Midfielder, A.Midfielder
HF: A.Forward, A.Keyforward, A.Forward
F: A.Forward, A.Keyforward, A.Forward
R: A.Ruck, A.Midfielder, A.Midfielder
Int: A.Player, A.Player, A.Player, A.Player

Emg: A.Player, A.Player, A.Player

Capt: A.Captain
V.Capt: A.V-Capt

In: players who didn't play the week before
Out: players who are omitted from previous match

The SC scores from each player named in the 22 will be added together with emergencies replacing absent players in order of selection. Captains will score double points.

The team total will be divided by 20 and then converted to goals + behinds to get a realistic score.
eg. a total SC score of 1600 will become 12.8.80 (1600/20 = 80)

This total will be compared to your opponent for that week and the higher score will be the winner. Because each team will meet all other teams in their division 2 times we are looking at possibly giving a home ground advantage of 1 goal but only in the 14 league home and away matches and possibly the 1st 2 rounds of finals (could be halved to 3 points?) to reward better ladder position but definitely not in the grand final or Cup matches.

All conversions of SC totals will be rounded down and a drawn game will be a draw in home and away matches regardless of whether or not the SC scores are different.
eg 1619 and 1600 both score 80 points. The scores will be 11.14.80 to 12.8.80. The first team had more opportunity to win but wasted their chances with inaccurate kicking despite being the better team.
In finals and Cup games though, the higher SC score will be used to decide a winner.

Deliberate selection of key positions (for example) who are not going to play for their AFL teams in order to have a higher scoring emergency replace them over a legitimate selection will not be allowed.

If I've missed anything here let me know.

Just on Emergencies.

Dont think it should be restricted to 3 as AFL teams on weekly basis pull late changes. (Harbrow dropped this week for "team balance" this week after playing a ripper game scoring 103 is a good example).

At selection I have always used the squads of 25 to pick my team.

ie Josh Head (mega spud) is named in Freo's team while Bacher Houli is named as an emergency for the Bombers. Will select Houli every time but restricting the emergency list to 3 may dictate that I have to select Head!

Hopefully I get that prob later in the year

Anyone have any opinions on this?

I'm happy to increase the number of emergencies to 4 or even have no limits to the number of emergencies named if people want.

My vote is for leaving it at 3 emergencies anyway. In the example given rb can name Houli in his 22 and have Head as emg to replace him if he doesn't line up.

The Houli or Head scenario can happen 5-6 times in a week

3 emergencies dont cover it.

Then it's up to you in my opinion.
You can either play it safe, and name the players who are named to play or you can take the risk and name blokes who are only emergencies in the hope they get a call up.
Three emergencies covers it.
