Discuss anything to do with the all-in draft here, and keep the picks thread to picks only.

hey dtm, I wouldn't mind taking my own picks for the next 2 if you don't mind. I should be able to log on fairly regularly. From there we can pick up from the list I gave you

OK guys, the draft thread is up, just make sure that you have read the rules in it and that you understand them all. If not, please leave your query in this thread.
Remember Div 1 coaches, you are now allowed to draft 2007 draftees that remain and also 2008 draft selections that remain.

I expect to see alot of division 1 coaches picking up draft picks or first/second year players. They need to keep their lists young so they don't drop out once a few players retire.
As for the division 2 coaches, well I think that the real strategy will show through now. Do they go for the 30+ year olds in a hope to be promoted quickly? Or do they take a younger player who could take a year or two to develop?

Yes, and obviously Div.2 clubs still can as well.

Strategies are well entrenched. Teams going for promotion will continue to draft like they have, teams who have been drafting young will continue to draft like they have. Adding another 8 coaches drafting will (should) change nothing for us.
Agree with div 1 coaches taking picks though. Big reason I took a pick with the last pick in the div 2 draft is because I would be very surprised top 30 picks were still there by my first pick in this draft.

Three players that I thought would make it through to my pick have all be chosen. Well done to those coaches! Some very surprising picks though, especially with players who just don't look to have the ability to score highly.

Scott Welsh at pick 1 surprised me.
Very inconsistent and struggled in the secnd half of last season.

Finally have managed to get my starting 18 sorted out with Ebert filling the final whole in a forward pocket. It does leave me with 4 port players so far so here's hoping they go ok next year!

Really happy to snag Fisher. If he can get the body right he will be a very good player. A lot of frustration ahead. i can see a heap of players i'm keen on go.

Welsh at pick one was a good choice IMO.
Before this draft started I had a list of 9 players who I was interested in for my first round pick. With Ebert, Notting, Wood and Fisher gone that list is down to 5.
God I hate being second last in the draft.

I'm suprised that wood has been picked up here as he struggled this year. Although to be fair we are starting to get low on talent now so this is probably around the time he should be taken.
