It's been 17 hours now for pouks but he's at schoolies and has given D2T a preference list so I will wait a while til i make my pick in the draft. Shouldn't penalise him if he's got a preference list in.

Can the admin make a decision about the draft. it is going way to slow.
Soon it will be xmas/new year and people won't be on. Then before we know it we have the NAB cup.
We still have a few rounds of this + another draft.

Sorry that i haven't been on boys, bastard exams.
The good thing about the next draft though is that alot of the early picks have been taken by mainly the same people, meaning they can take alot of picks in a short amount of time.

I think there a couple of coaches who's positions need to be seriously looked at, the first of those being HawkPatrol. Regularly missing out on his picks, it's not good enough IMO.

tbnb, Polak is one that I've looked at for quite a few rounds but not taken because of the risk.
I did a bit of checking up on his progress and people seem to be hopeful but also doubtful that he'll get back. I reckon I'd have taken a chance on him in another 2,3,4 picks depending on who else was left at that stage

I wouldn't say that anyone can be confident that Polak will return.
I've followed his progress and have regularly been in contact with people that are in the know regarding his situation.
He has been training with the main Richmond group, but they haven't done any contact work as yet. It's basically a case of wait and see. No body is sure what will happen if he cops a knock to the head, and as a defender he's likely to cop a few.
I don't see him getting back to be honest, but I'm still hopeful that he can.

What a pathetic admin we have in this game. Someone had to say it.
Even RLL has bigger balls than you guys. Time to grow a hearty pair, and soon. If the problem is not being able to make a collective decision, you should cut the admin from 3 to 1 with that 1 person able to make executive decisions, and the other 2 can be 'global mods' or whatever they are called.
But that won't happen because it would need a collective decision to make that decision.....so growing a hearty pair is probably your best chance.

What a joke you are. You are the one complaining about EVERY CONCEIVEABLE THING and we've had to put up with your shit.
You also were complaining about the draft moving too fast and that there is "no rush".
And then in the post I quoted all you say is we have to grow a hearty pair, yet you don't mention what we've done wrong.
All you do is look for conflict.
Seriously mate, grow up.

You mean like how I complained about the player positions, which you then agreed with as they were ultimately changed? Guess I was just looking for conflict there rather than having the best interests of the game at heart...... and how I agreed with DTM's proposal to speed up the draft and bringing up a similar proposal myself? And how I said their was no rush with the draft during the div 2 draft, who's 144 picks were completed in what, 1 week? And how I'm the only person who is complaining about the speed of the draft atm? Very, very selective post. Yep, I disagree with everything for the hell of it, clearly.
Maybe I just like to play in games which are run in the best way possible, and like to share my thoughts and ideas on how I think that should be done. If that means pushing the admin, so be it, I don't deserve to be called a joke for trying to improve your game. The cold hard fact is you have been pondering a decision on how to quicken the draft for a good couple of weeks, with no decision made yet. All thats going to happen with time in limbo is coaches are going to lose interest, if they haven't already. And once that happens, comps like this die off, as guys like Stoney would agree with. And I don't want that to happen, which is why I posted.

I think its pretty obvious to most that the draft has sped up a fair bit since we had that bout of inactivity, mostly caused by a couple of coaches quitting.
With people finally listening and handing in preference lists, the draft has been much quicker in recent days, which is why we haven't moved to do anything about speeding it up.

Apart from 1 day of good drafting yesterday (which appears more an exception than a trend), its ground to a halt again today.
Still, if the decision is to leave it with pref lists being sent in, that is better then leaving us in limbo, as last I heard on the matter a system to speed it up was about to be enforced.

I do agree with you that a global mod needs to be brought in though, while the other admin have been against it, I just think that not enough is being done.
I know there are time restraints for the other guys, but we need extra help.

With more rounds in this draft to come - followed by the all-in Rookie Draft, the National Draft and Rookie Draft ... unless something happens, we are going to be drafting right through to next season.
Make preference lists compulsory. You don't hand one in - your pick gets skipped. Simple.

I guess now that we're getting down towards the bottom of everyone's lists from here on it won't matter too much if coaches do end up being skipped and having to make up picks later on.
I'm all for making the time limit to something like 4 hours. That'll get things moving.
Maybe only make the draft active between the hours of 8am to 12 midnight.
If people don't submit a preference list or take their pick within the 4 hours then bad luck. The longer it takes the more the penalty will be

I'm fine with 4 hours. If you hand a preference list in then the 4 hour limit means nothing anyway.

The thing is, with work commitments what happens if myself or the other admin don't get on for those 4 hours with people's picks?
