Over the summer there will be 3 drafts... National Draft (for new draftees), Pre-season Draft (for any other player not listed by an AFLPL club), and a Rookie Draft.
Trading of pre-season and rookie picks may not be traded at any time but National Draft picks may be traded freely after allocation and until drafting closes before the drafts take place.
List Size prior to drafts: Prior to the National Drafts all teams MUST have a maximum of 37 senior players. Players must be either traded or delisted to reach this maximum. Please also remember that promoted rookies will also count in this maximum. You may go into the drafts with less players if you want higher turnover but must end the drafts within all maximums and minimums for list sizes.
Rookies may remain rookies for a maximum of 2 seasons before they must be promoted or delisted. Rookie numbers must remain between 3-9 between the rookie draft and the following year's delisting period.
National Draft: In the National Draft each year, the Division 2 clubs will all get 1 priority pick (picks 1-8), and for the subsequent rounds after that all clubs get involved with the remaining picks. Extra Priority picks will be awarded to those who's needs are determined by Admin to be significant. It will not be based simply on games won as we all know that a team forfeiting and finishing with no wins is often much better than teams ranked above them. Opinions on extra priority picks are encouraged from all coaches.
Not allowing for extra priority picks the ND order will be according to the reverse order of both division ladders after the finals.
Div 2 Priority picks: #1 = 8th #2 = 7th #3 = 6th #4 = 5th #5 = 4th #6 = 3rd #7 = 2nd #8 = 1st
Round 1 picks: Div 2: #1 = 8th #2 = 7th #3 = 6th #4 = 5th #5 = 4th #6 = 3rd #7 = 2nd #8 = 1st Div 1: #9 = 8th #10 = 7th #11 = 6th #12 = 5th #13 = 4th #14 = 3rd #15 = 2nd #16 = 1st
Subsequent rounds will be in the same order as round 1 with the obvious adjustments for traded picks.
A minimum of 3 ND picks must be taken by all clubs
Pre-season Draft & Rookie Draft: Both drafts will be in the same order as round 1 of the National Draft. No picks from either of these drafts may be traded so the order for these drafts will not change. These 2 drafts are not compulsory
Remember that all list maximums and minimums must be met once the drafts are over and all lists must remain between these numbers until the next season's delisting period.
Finals Forfeits and Tanking: Forfeiting or not selecting your best team in the Div 2 bottom 4 finals may be viewed as tanking! This issue will be put to the AFLPL coaches and your drafting position may be adjusted if deemed appropriate.

Just looking for clarification here, not fussed either way
Luke Miles was promoted by StKilda
can SWR retain him as a rookie ?
"Please also remember that promoted rookies will also count in this maximum"
"Rookies may remain rookies for a maximum of 2 seasons before they must be promoted or delisted "

Yes, he can be retained as a rookie. You can only play him in league matches and finals if you activate him for a LTI.
But rookies are free to play all cup matches whether you have LTI's or not.
