| Welcome to A Worlde Apart. We hope you enjoy your visit. By logging in you enter a Sci-Fi themed collaborative writing game in which you are invited to create a character (or 2) and exercise your imagination in conjunction with other writers to create a series of stories based upon a background that I (Dagiris) have started (Much inspired by www.worldearcane.com which is currently inactive) and that you as players and writers will expand upon and adapt over time. The setting is a pocket universe entirely separate from our own, it exists in a Null Space where galaxies do not exist, only isolated star systems. Each star system is surrounded by a sphere which gives the sentient population within the illusion that they are in a "normal" area of space, their telescopes and sensors will see stars and galaxies beyond the confines of their own star system, but until they unlock the truth, then any attempt to travel beyond their star system will result getting lost in the Null Space, forever unable to to return. Argroww stood on the observation deck of the Galvomore Star Spire, why they’d called it a spire he couldn’t for the life of him figure out. He’d been brought up here as a representative of the pure-blood Wolvians of which there were still a fairly high number of, but most preferred to remain in their various natural environments, protected well against the wars of 2000 years ago. As predicted the Dark Underlord arose, and even though signs had lead them to believe that he might rise earlier than the prophecy dictated what truly happened was a time of dark chaos, where his minions rages rampant before his true arrival, for about 500 years such chaos reigned and it was a poor time to be aligned with the more peaceful forces of the Worlde, what made things worse were that several agents independant of the Dark Underlord and his minions also strove to dominate the lands. Argroww recalled the most trying time he had was looking after the young Rhylise, a very troubled young man who shared his body with the will of a particularly nasty Daemoness who didn’t seem to realise she was already dead, the boy turned out to be an agent for both sides with his Clan-Sister Irrega following him around for the rest of her natural life. It wasn’t till their child came of age that Lise finally settled, the power of that child being so strong that it was abel to dominate what remained of the Daemoness. Argroww had to admit the encounter has been satisfying to watch, but took so long to finally be achieved due to the prolonged pregnancy and maturing of the child that Lise did much damage when he was at his worst, almost to the point that some believe him to be the Dark Underlord! Now the father and son had left the Worlde long ago to travel other planes together, no longer feeling that the Worlde had anything left for them. The aged Wolvian knew not of what had happened to Zan, he last saw him during some war after the Dark Underlord’s second rising, his fate lost to him. Of his many other friends and allies he knew little, the years having obscured much. He looked out of the massive plexi-glass window, surrounded by many of the Spire’s officers, crew, staff and observers, from here he could see the blue/green world that he had called home for so long and he had to admit it was an incredible sight, mostly for the fact that it was still there, there was a massive storm in the northern hemisphere, pulsing with dangerous magick, it never moved, the region had been lost for 1500 years now, the Dark Underlord’s spirit trapped in a spell that had cost many lives to be cast, but was a far stronger prison than he has been sealed in before. Since then the Worlde had gone through many changes, the spell had done more than just destroy lives, it had weakened the Worlde’s connection to the magical elements, some races had almost completely died out because of it, others changed forever, it had also forced a revolution of a like never seen or heard of before, suddenly the Dwarves and Elves had new goals, come up with ways of doing things that Magick had previously allowed for. Curiously the underground city of New Galvomore became a new haven for this revolution, already the city was geared up towards industry, it’s clever use of Wolvian Spirit magick and Dwarven ingenuity has resulted in inventions and techniques that the Seeker’s Guild helped spread and quite suddenly the whole world was changing into something new and unexpected, whilst Magick was weaker on the whole, what remained was put to new uses never thought of before, it’s nature became understood better and the potential behind it and the fact that in truth Magick was a generalism of a form of radiation that came from the Worlde’s sun and the dimensional nexus that existed in the same place as the Worlde itself, careful research had revealed the different strains, how they affected people and objects, giving them power of varying nature. Oddly the one race that could not be explained was his own, the Wolvian power of the Spirit realm had baffles any research into it’s nature, and whilst it’s effects could be replicated through other methods, it’s exact nature still eluded the Magickers. Still, here he was, still alive, many of his brethren lost long ago. Even Gree-Agraa a fellow Roh-Gah had not survived, proof that even his own Goddess was not infallible, she had promised them both immortality and bodies that would heal from any wound, even complete destruction. However the riot of the technomage wars of 1000 years ago had revealed that some things were beyond her powers, this time the wars had not been driven by Dark Forces, but by Uman greed and sympathisers of their opinion. Of all the races the Umans were least blessed by the Magckial gift (or curse in some cases) and this steadily lead to jealousy as the new cities and guilds formed after the Dark Underlord was sealed away again, to the point that they banded together and started coming up with alternative technologies and new devices, some of which could circumvent Magick...and some of which defeated the Wolvian’s own abilities, many of his race were lost during that war, albeit a brief war. Argroww himself lost his right arm, the right side of his face, his left foot and a considerable section of his belly, wounds that would kill anyone else, but somehow his Goddess poured enough of her power into him to survive, for 300 years he’d lain in stasis, no-one even knew he was there, buried underground after a section of a cliff had fallen on him. Once uncovered long after the technowar had ceased, believed to be a relic by the Uman archaeologists had dug him up and given to the citizen of New Galvomore, then and now existing as much overground as it did underground, his body was found to still be alive. A team of Galvomore Wolvians, who he’d barely known existed himself, spent several years after that probing his body, using their unique knowledge to find out both what kept him alive, and what they could do to fully restore him to life. In the end it was a combination of Uman technology and their own Spirit Crafting that restored him, mechanical parts that gave him and arm, foot, face and all his torso back, but not without cost. He looked at the mechanical hand that now served him on his right side and flexed the palm, it was designed to resemble a wolvian paw, but could never be the same, it was clearly metal, had no fur and also had a number of tools and devices installed in it, some of which made up of the loss of his mastery of the Spirit Worlde. Oh he still had considerable power, but teleportation was beyond him now as were many other things he had taken for granted. He was however still immortal, after his....repair....he had lived on, still not aging and watching as the Worlde didn’t just grow, but attained world peace, every continent coming into union, that is when they became aware of the stars, and what they represented, something new, something beyond. Also within his view from the observation window was the massive starship, S.S. Wolvaris. He had been brought onto the project as a diplomat, one of his remaining powers was still Spiritalk, the ability to talk to any being irrelevant of language, and in turn to understand them, although he could now speak easier in any language too due to his mechanical aspects. It made him a natural asset, beyond his other skills, although some of which were shared by many. The Wolvian combat arts had proved highly efficient for most races to adapt, creating an unarmed martial technique that was now considered mandatory, most soldiers now carried light clawed gauntlets for when in unarmed combat. This happened even though the majority of pure-blood Wolvians had deigned not to get involved with the space exploration project, in fact all Clans barring the Galvomore Clan (who were not considered pure-bloods anyway) had refused, although individuals from those clans had in some cased joined in, or advised where they could. Argroww had been advised to wait on the observation deck before boarding the S. S. Wolvaris, supposedly he would be boarding with a few others who hadn’t turned up yet. Fortunately he’d now been around long enough that he was no long a major celebrity, still he came across the occasional person who was interested enough in history to realise who they were in the presence of and also feel awed by the fact, there weren’t many immortals left...or at least not so many that were willing to admit it. Talan ran along the cold metal corridors of the Medtech facility, this was the second time he had escaped confinement and he was determined this time he would make sure he got off the accursed vessel. He turned a corner to be faced with a large glass view port which obviously was a dead end. The sight before him was more more than stomach churning to the young man. He had thought himself to be in a ground based facility, but the blue/green orb far below him told him that was not actually so. He pressed his hands against the thick plexiglass and stared out at the sea of stars and space before him and his home. He had been knocked out and bought here, someone had ratted him out to the Medtech, not so much him but what he could do. It was a family secret and they had kept it secret for such a long time know. His ancestral grandfather of good knows how far back had been a Pyromancer, that was what they had called it then anyway....a fire maker, and it seemed that this 'gift' had been passed down the male line. He recalled his own father, Thardro, telling him that he must not display it, there were many that could use such an ability for bad things. When he had turned sixteen he had gotten the tattoo that all the males of the family had, a phoenix that stretched from shoulder to shoulder and down the spine. It had bloody hurt getting the tattoo, but it was a family tradition, just like his being named after the first Talan. He could hear the klaxon sounding signalling his escape. The noise was a horrible sound, it heralded the arrival of soldiers and then the Head Scientist, Tal hated him with a vengeance. That smooth calculating voice, the cold grey eyes, the nasty satisfaction he saw in the man's face as he was dragged back to his cell. He turned and ran back to the main corridor, there had to be a way off of this ship. But that was not to be today as he was blocked both ends of the corridor by guards with their stun weapons. That voice sounded over the intercom. "There is no where fer yew to go Talan.....'The Haven' is yer home now......at least until we are done with yew!" He looked to both ends of the corridor, two guards one end and one guard the other.....an opportunity. The ship was docked, he had seen the edges of the connection from where he had viewed out. If it was docked then there was a way off of The Haven and away from Doctor Avarn. He knew that one on one he did not have a hope of beating the guard, he was five foot seven of not very much and the guard was built like a brick outhouse! He would have to use the fire and he hated having to do that, he knew Avarn watched everything and a display of the fire would make him all the more eager to make sure he stayed on board. He started a light jog towards the one man who blocked his way, the heat starting to build as he concentrated, his head down. He did not want to kill the guard, just create enough of a diversion for him to get past and out into the docking area. He let the power out as a stream at the nearest conduit to the man, it sparked viciously and the panel blew outwards knocking the surprised guard to one side, to bang his head against the bulkhead. Talan was surprised himself at the results and paused briefly to stare at the fizzling electronics. "Sorry Dad!" He said softly under his breath, remembering his promise to his family not to display what they could do. Up head he could see the airlock and freedom, there were no guards in advance of him, he reached it and slammed the button to open the door, it groaned open and as soon as there was enough of a gap to slip through Talan did. He ran across a long bridge towards some sort of station entrance and prayed there would be somewhere to hide when he got there. Avarn would send others out to look fer him....under the guise of doctors, he would not let him go now, especially after witnessing the thing with the panel. He slipped inside the door the other end and his head swung in both directions, one way he could hear noise and chatter, a crowd....and where better to hide than in a crowd. He found the room easily enough, all sorts of people waiting, talking, by the window stood a large Wolvian, if it could still be called a Wolvian with the cybernetic implants. His family history had said his ancestor Talan had been heavily involved with a Wolvian....Iron Claw. He shook his head, this was no time for family stories, he needed to blend in and quickly. “Ah Argroww, there you are..uhh...Sir?” Said a young Uman woman dressed in an officer’s uniform, a cap hid her hair and Argroww guessed she might be considered attractive, but was a poor judge of such things, throughout his long life he’d had little time for relationships, it was odd in way. “Argroww will do just fine” his natural eye narrowed at the name badge “Private Telsing, what can I do for you?” “We’re due to board soon, just waiting for the last shuttle of passengers from the surface, just thought you might want to know, what do you think of the S.S. Wolvaris?” Argroww shrugged “I’m a poor judge of such things, but I guess it looks like a good ship, very...uhh...large” “I’m surprised that you said that, most people don’t understand the perspective, she’s big, that’s for sure, some of the inside of the starship have been designed to recreate places down on the surface, so much so that you wouldn’t even know you were in space!” At that moment there was a brief commotion as someone ran into the room, Argroww momentarily made eye contact with the young boy who then vanished into the crowd of people. It took him a moment, but there was something familiar about the look in his eyes, something from long before even the 2nd rising, a person he met briefly in his travels, he shook his head and was about to continue talking to the office when a few armed guards ran into the room, something that suddenly changed the mood way more than a single boy did. However with credit towards the station personnel they reacted quickly, their own stun blasters leaping into their hands as they spun towards the guards from some docked space vessel. There was a brief exchange between the two sets of people that Argroww could hear over the general noise of the room, the guards then looked at an older man who came in at a more sedate pace behind them, he waved his hand and they de-activated and holstered their weapons. Even so the station guards gave the older man a bit of an ear chewing by the looks of it, he got fairly huffy over it, but they took none of his bluster, the guards were sent back to where-ever they came from, the man however stayed with a single unarmed guard and started weaving through the crowd. “Wonder what that is all about?” Argroww said. “Oh, I know him” the Private said “He’s Professor Avarn, some medical researcher, got his own Star Clipper.” Talan felt sick from where he stood sandwiched between some people that jostled to see what had happened with the guards and the he caught sight of Avarn. The man's cruel grey eyes swept the room, there was only one way in and out of the Observation Deck, he was trapped. Avarn would find him and he would be taken back to The Haven and made to pay for running away...none of the 'patients' got to leave. He backed away unto he felt the bulkhead against his back and he closed his eyes and hoped that he would not be seen, perhaps Avarn might get bored and leave, but he doubted it after the display he just gave on The Haven. Right enough, hard fingers circled his arm and a voice spoke quietly into his ear. "That was very stupid of you boy....very stupid....but very informative too" Avarn put a tight arm about Talan's shoulder and spoke loud enough for the station guards to hear. "There yew are my boy....lucky we found yew, yew being as sick as yew are....come on, let's get you back to your room....nice and comfortable!" Talan was steered forward towards the door, back to The Haven and this time they would leave and he would never have another chance. He called out the word of Wolvian he had ever learned the translation was rough and rudimentary at best. "Agra!" Argroww approached the professor, the Private trailing after him as she’d only been instructed to ensure that the Wolvian boarded the Star Ship safely. “The correct pronunciation is Agraa young man” he said adding a growl into the word that Talan had not used “And I might add that it’s correct use is in conjuction with the name of the Clan leader you are referencing, if you were addressing me then I am no Agraa, I am a Roh-Gah which translates roughly into ‘Hand of The Great Wolf’.” The Wolvian took stock of the situation, the Professors hand quite possessively grasping onto the boys arm and taking in what the man had said. “Professor Avarn, explain to me what is wrong with this child, I sense no illness in him? In fact as far as I can tell he is the picture of health, positively glowing in fact.” Talan gave a small sigh on relief, the plan had worked to a degree, he had attracted the Wolvian's attention for now. Avarn looked less pleased from the sideways glance Talan gave him. The Professor gave the huge creature before him a courteous smile that did not quite reach his eyes. "Talan is somewhat of a difficult case." He said smoothly. "He is unbalanced, after losing his family he went off the path and the courts awarded his care to me. They hoped I could work with him to help him accept their deaths, it was tragic...his father, his mother and sister died in a cruiser accident." He tightened his grip on Talan's arm. "This is not the first time he has tried to run from a facility, we were treating him ground side but he ran away so it was thought perhaps bringing him on board my ship The Haven might be better." He pulled out a Sedi-ject from his pocket. "Now there has been enough excitement and disruption for one day.....I need to quieten him down and get him back!" “So you are suggesting that this is a mental health issue Professor?” The Wolvian queried knowing perfectly well that his own SpiritMastery could detect such disturbances in a person’s Spirit for mental deficiencies as much as physical ones and whilst he could confirm that the boy was distraught and possibly over his families death, he was also able to tell the boy was of sound mind, or at least as sound as his current situation would allow him. Argroww felt that there was more than met the eye here and up close he could see they boys eyes, which wide with fear were clearly flecked with gold in his irises, it was a rare thing in Umans and often suggested (although not reliably) that they may possess the Pyromancy trait. “You will do no such thing, so the boy is an orphan, under the direct care of your medical offices? Well then, I formally tender an offer of guardianship, as is I believe, my right. My quarters on the Wolvaris are sufficient for an additional passenger are they not Private Telsing?” “Yes, yes they are Sir, uh, Argroww” she responded, somewhat uncertainly as she felt caught in the middle of something beyond her training. Avarn stared at the Wolvian his grip tightening on the boy's arm making the lad wince. "Talan is under my care, he is my patient, yew cannot just up and take him off of me mid treatment!" He said coolly. He looked at Talan, the look made the boy shiver, it was not a happy nor kind look. It was the look that spoke volumes what was going to happen back on The Haven. Avarn looked back to the Wolvian irritably. "Yew don't want this boy he is disruptive and difficult, he needs constant watching and medicating regularly, not the sort yew want to share close quarters with Sir!" Talan looked pleadingly at Argroww, if he went back to Avarn's ship there would be the Underworlde to pay. The Professor would waste no time in first punishing him for running and then experimenting on him to see how he had blown the panel out. Life would be unbearable. “I think you’ll find I can Professor Avarn, if you care to dispute my right to take on this child with me as his Guardian you may check with any official here, I can even quote you the full line from the legislature document. As to his temperament, I have met and dealt with worse, check the historical archives, there are few children who can be any worse than the Dark Underlord himself.” Argroww would have smirked, if his mouth was capable of such an expression, interestingly the more that the Professor tried to deny Argroww his right, the more determined he became to get his way. “Now then, please let go of the boy’s arm as I believe you are hurting him, which is quite unnecessary, I have a Star Ship to board in a few minutes and I would prefer not to be kept waiting, would you want to be responsible for delaying the Union’s diplomat?” Argroww looked towards the guards who were still nearby and towards the Private standing just behind him with a bemused expression on her face. The guards had been listening in on the conversation and knew well enough amongst them of both Argroww’s status and of the legislature that he was speaking of, which stated that if there was no genuine medical reason for a child to remain in medical care then they could be legally claimed by an appropriate parent or guardian if such family did not exist. Appropriate being designated as one who had the resources and aptitude to take on the child with suitable care and attention to that child’s needs. The guardian was not allowed to have any affiliation with the hospital to restrict hospital staff from abusing the legislation. As far as those listening were concerned, Argroww ticked all the boxes, barring the aptitude perhaps, but none would be willing to question that point that worked for the Union in the observation lounge at that point. The Professor let go of his arm and Talan rubbed it with some satisfaction, though the bony fingers will have left bruises for sure. Avarn stepped to one side, his smile tight and cold as he regarded the Wolvian diplomat. "You are making a big mistake taking this boy believe me.....his place is on The Haven with the people that can sort him out!" He gestured to Talan. "Go on then Talan.....you have what you want, but we shall see for how long, I think I will see you again soon!" He said with a sharp smile. Talan stepped forward wrapping his arms about himself and he gazed up at the huge Wolvian before him. "Thanks." He said quietly, feeling Avarn's steely glare boring into the back of his skull. "You may have just saved me from a terrible fate!" “So then, it appear that I’ve earned myself a Son, you’ll be the first I’ve had for about 1500 years, although I’ve never had one of my own blood, and never will, the curse of immortality” he said with a sigh. “Well then Talan, we must talk, but let us wait till we’re on board the Wolvaris eh?” Argroww returned a stare that held as much threat as that which Avarn was trying to convey, he’d met his type many times before and he was sure he’d meet them again. “Now stay close young Talan, I do not disbelieve that Professor Avarn will do his best to get you back, I’ll need you to be honest with me about why too, although I have my suspicions.” Just then Private Kelsing’s communicator beeped, she tapped it and spoke briefly. “Argroww, the final Shuttle from the surface has docked with the Spire, we’re to board it and it’ll take us and the remaining passengers over to the S.S. Wolvaris, the Captain is eager to get going I’m told, so she’ll start moving as soon as this shuttle has dropped us off.” With that said the announcement system then broadcast it’s message: CAN ALL PASSENGER FOR THE S.S. WOLVARIS PLEASE MAKE THEIR WAY TO DOCKING BAY 8, ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR BOARDING PASSES READY! Argroww then followed Private Kelsing to the docking bay, instructing Talan to walk in front of him, but behind the Private, he idly wondered if the boy was old enough, or perhaps even calm enough to find the Private’s form pleasing although felt certain that she was both too professional and found Talan too young to share any interest the boy may have. He then snorted at the insignificance of his thought to the current situation. Talan walked in between the pair and his heart was hammering in his chest. Avarn would not let this go easily and he had no doubt there would be another run in with the Professor. He wondered what would happen when they got to docking bay 8' he did not have a boarding pass after all....would he be left behind? He glanced back to the Wolvian who seemed deep in thought. "What do Wolvian's call their fathers?" He asked simply, after all he had been referred to as a son. He looked further back to where Avarn stood briefly watching them leave before turning and stalking towards the door to rejoin his ship. He knew the Professor was furious at losing him, and he had knew the guards would suffer for letting him get off The Haven. He turned his eyes back front to follow Kelsing's form in the uniform, she was pretty, but he wasn't ready for any of that right now. His mother said he would know when it was time for courting. |

Talan shifted slightly to make some more room for Aislin, he felt strangely warm as the girl moved herself to sit closer to him. "Yes....parents....they do like to make themselves known." He said. She was very pretty now he could see her very close to him, her hair was a shimmery gold in colour and had a slight wave to it. Her eyes were like the sea he decided, he had seen it once or twice on a trip with his mum and dad. He was noticing these things and he guessed Serah would be proud. "So...your mum is a teacher....that must be interesting, I suppose you get moved to where she gets posted." He said, trying not to blush at the closeness of her. Aislin shook her head, sending the waves of golden hair rippling. "Not really, I don't get to make friends....no proper home.....I wish she would stay put. Here we are though!" Talan inwardly winced. "Well...no where to go on a starship and we kind of know each other now." He said with a slight smile. "If I am in your classes we might be able to study for our homework together if you like." Aislin returned that smile. "Maybe there might be some recreational places we could find too....or at least get lost trying!" |

Aryn smiled as she watched her daughter talk to the handsome yet strangely attired young man, she turned her attention back to Diplomat Argroww and spoke in a quiet conspiratorial tone. "He seems like a nice boy....I am so glad she has someone in Alpha Block that she might be able to make friends with." She worried about Aislin, the fact that she moved her about so much, hopefully this job was going to prove more long term. "Since Linny's father passed away I have had to take what jobs come up and it has meant moving about a lot." She looked back to her daughter thoughtfully. "I am hoping that this job means some stability and a home for her, and friends and perhaps.... who knows." She blushed slightly realising that she was pouring things out to a total stranger. "I am sorry....I am rambling on about things that I shouldn't...please I hope I did not embarrass you." "So....how did you end up with Talan, after all he is a Uman boy not a Wolvian...must be an interesting story." Aryn and Aisling had arrived late and had not seen what transpired in the lounge. |

"Do not worry yourself Miss Aryn, I am quite used to people opening up to me, part of the reason why I'm a diplomat" He responded with a fairly typical Wolvian look on his face. "I suspect that you won't be moving anywhere else for a while, for most people this will be a lifetime journey, we are exploring the great unknown, the stars, the place that until relatively recently our Worlde barely knew existed." He considered how best to answer the last question, given that he had not even formalised his parentage, something he could only do once on board the Wolvaris. "Well, so I understand it the boy has lost his natural parents and was in the care of a hospital, that is no place for a growing child and I saw it only as my duty to take his responsibility onto my hands, it will be an adventure I'm sure." Outside the viewport the Wolvaris was growing ever larger, it's smaller details starting to come into focus and it's true size become clearer. |

Aislin's leg brushed against Talan's and she looked at him in surprise. "You are so warm." She said softly. "It is so odd, before Mum and I came over you looked cold, but now you are really warm....are you ok?" Talan's eyes widened, how could he have not noticed that the heat was rising in him, he re-acted and pushed it back down really hard. "They must have turned the environment control up or something." He said trying not to sound too alarmed. How could this have happened without him noticing it, this was what he got for paying attention to a pretty girl and not minding himself. |

"Yes, it has turned a little warm hasn't it?" Argroww said having overheard Talan's panicked tone, he even went as far as lightly nudging Aryn's spirit with the suggestion of warmth so she would think it was warmer than it was. It was then that a tone sounded throughout the shuttle. "CAN ALL PASSENGERS PLEASE BE SEATED, WE ARE ABOUT TO INITIATE DOCKING PROCEDURE AND FOR YOUR SAFETY WE WILL REQUIRE YOU ALL TO SIT." Argroww considered the current seating arrangement and decided that he'd help out Talan a little more as he was looking more than a little flushed. "Aislin, do you think you could sit with your mother over here, I'm not sure the safety mechanisms are intended for 2 people sitting on one seat, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to chat with Talan after we're all settled on the Wolvaris." |

Aryn and Aislin went to take their seats and Talan looked towards Argroww and chewed his lip, concerned that he had let the heat manifest at all. He was embarrassed he had better control than that, but he had never had a very pretty girl sitting next to him before, her skin touching his and speaking to him about exploring and getting lost. His mind had wandered, as it might for a boy of his age, to things that he had not considered before, such as wondering what it might be like to kiss Aislin. His face turned pink at the thought and he looked down towards the deck of the shuttle. This was why he kept himself to himself.....Dad obviously had not covered girls as a distraction in his training and how to supress desires and such the like. "Oh well....one more thing to practice....." He thought quietly as his eyes slipped to where Aislin sat. |

Argroww continued to look out of the viewport, the Wolvaris was starting to block out the reflected sunlight from the sun so it initially appeared that the outside was darkening, the gigantic ships own lights not being powerful enough to fully light up the path the shuttle was taking towards it. The shuttle then shuddered as the guidance beams took hold of the shuttle pulling it towards a hangar reserved for shuttles, there were already 4 shuttles docked in there, at this distance no further detail could be made out. "Talan, we're nearly on board, would you like to go shopping for some clothes first, or go take a look at our new quarters?" He asked, looking at the boy who was now cooling down again. It was strange seeing the boy's heat both in his spirit and with his cybernetic eye, but whilst the boy had lost control, he had hidden it well enough. |

Talan look up from the deck, startled from his reverie by Argroww asking him a simple question. He stared down at the hospital scrubs and decided that actually clothes might be a good idea, he did not want to be seen like this a moment longer than he had to. He did not any other peers to see him and think of him as the weird kid. "Clothes please Argroww." The quarters could wait, after spending the last six months sleeping on a hard metal ledge in a cell in the facility....seeing them would be like a wonderful dream to end the day. He wondered what sort of shops and outlets this vast ship might have, what sort of clothes would the Wolvian be happy to buy, he definitely wanted casual clothes but knew he would need a uniform for school too....what would that look like? He needed a hair cut, it was starting to get long and flop into his eyes, making him look very boyish and he disliked that. "Can I get a hair cut too?" He asked shyly. |

"Clothes it is then" Argroww nodded. The shuttle shuddered again as other guidance beams took over, again looking out the view port Argrow could make out details on the part of the Wolvaris' hull that could be seen, truly massive in size, seen up this close he started to feel amazed that it was build in only 30 years, something of this size should have taken far longer, but then this was a credit toward the power of The Union, all races united, their strengths used to best effect. "A haircut? of course if that's what you need." Argroww said in response to the quietly asked question, what had this boy been through and for how long he wondered. The shuttle passed a bank of Rotaron cannons, placed to protect the hangar bay they were approaching. It was around then that Private Telsing approached from which-ever part of the shuttle she'd been waiting on. "Si...Di..uh..Argroww we'd like to get you to the exit portal now so you can be ready to get onto The Wolvaris first." The Wolvian looked at her, his expression unreadable. "Why would that be?" he asked. "Well, the captain has issued orders that he wishes to see you as soon as you board and your rank and privileges entitle you to leaving the shuttle first." She responded. "Hmm, well I think that may be a little inconvenient to my friend Ayrn here, she was going to take me shopping for the uniform of the school she is teaching at it is quite important that I have Talan here properly clothed, you can advise the Captain that if he wishes to meet me urgently he may do so at the clothing store in the Alpha block." Private Telsing gulped, knowing that telling her Captain of Argroww's request would not be well received, but that she also had little choice in the matter. "Yes, of course Argroww, I'll see to it, oh, here I brought you this datapad, we're close enough to the Wolvaris for you to register yourself on it's systems and you can officially take adoption of Talan too." Argroww accepted the datapad and flicked through the screens, marking off responses as prompted and then finally pushing his left-hand thumbpad against the screen. He then navigated to the section for registering adoptions, it was about time he made this official, he searched for Talan's entry and frowned at the data he saw, Avarn and The Haven seemed to take on ownership of Talan very quickly after his families deaths, it felt a little too convenient. However the boy was noted as being available for adoption, several warning appeared on the screen noting his unsuitability for adoption due to medical reasons and instabilities of the mind, Argroww snorted at this and pushed the accept button, then handed the pad to Talan. "Here, place your thumb on the screen there, it will formally mark your acceptance of me as your adoptive parent." |

Talan took the datapad that was pushed towards him, his eyes skimmed through the writing on the screen, what it said about him and his eyes widened perceptibly as he noted that apparently as Avarn said on the report that he was a mental liability. "He said I am of questionable sanity!" He said quietly, his voice low and angry. "Can people see this information freely?" He squished his thumb against the area that confirmed his agreement to the adoption. He handed the pad back to Argroww. "I am not mental...honestly I am not....don't ever let him take me back there!" The momentary calm he had felt, was disrupted at that news, the lies that Avarn had spread, the heat barely bloomed as Talan controlled it as he had been taught in moments of anger. "Thank you for not listening to him....and for taking a chance on me....I promise I will work very hard and make you proud of me...I am a good student. I never cause a fuss or ask for anything, you will hardly know I am there, I won't get in your way." |

"Talan, I make my own mind up and trust in my own instincts, but don't make a promise you cannot keep, you still have a lot of growing to do and though my guidance and that learned of your parents you will do well, but don't tell me you won't cause me fuss, you will, all children do." Argroww put his arm around Talan then took the datapad with his other hand to give it to Private Telsing. She remained stood nearby, clearly she was under orders to stay close to Argroww. The shuttle finally landed in the hangar bay as was a very soundless landing as the only indication that there had been any changed was the announcement from the tannoy. "ALL PASSENGERS MAY NOW STAND, PLEASE EXIT VIA THE TRANSPORT TUNNELS YOU WILL THEN BE GUIDED TO THE WOLVARIS INNER RAIL SYSTEM." Argroww stood looked about as the other passengers stood and started to queue up to get on board, he helped Aryn up looking to Talan to ensure he was doing the same for Aislin, good manners went a long way, he then ensured that the pair were in front. Then along with the rest of the passenger they all made their exit from the shuttle to start their new lives. OOC: New story to start on board the SS Wolvaris |
