| Welcome to A Worlde Apart. We hope you enjoy your visit. By logging in you enter a Sci-Fi themed collaborative writing game in which you are invited to create a character (or 2) and exercise your imagination in conjunction with other writers to create a series of stories based upon a background that I (Dagiris) have started (Much inspired by www.worldearcane.com which is currently inactive) and that you as players and writers will expand upon and adapt over time. The setting is a pocket universe entirely separate from our own, it exists in a Null Space where galaxies do not exist, only isolated star systems. Each star system is surrounded by a sphere which gives the sentient population within the illusion that they are in a "normal" area of space, their telescopes and sensors will see stars and galaxies beyond the confines of their own star system, but until they unlock the truth, then any attempt to travel beyond their star system will result getting lost in the Null Space, forever unable to to return. Goldeneyes stood on the deck of The Mirellan and watched as Kentaru slid away from him, there were three figures stood on the dock, Sita, The King and Talanis. The king's large paw was resting on the Pyromancer's shoulder, and the young man's face was stone like and unreadable, but Goldeneyes knew him better, Blaze was in pain, inside his heart was breaking. Just before Dawn, three hours earlier. "Don't go." Came the pained voice of Blaze as he and Goldeneyes laid in their bed at their private retreat. Goldeneyes closed his eyes, the sound of his lover's voice was more than he could bear, that desperation, the pain of his imminent departure all to clear. He had finally relented under pressure from Emmissary Doshair and the stern talk he had received from Elroug, counselling him to speak with his father and learn about his people. He would be gone for a while, he really did not want to but he had to. The elf opened his eyes and turned over to lay a hand on Blaze's cheek and he leaned in to kiss him. "Blaze please...I have to....it will not be forever...I promise....I am going to hear what he has to say and then I am coming back here to you...to Sita." The Pyromancer pulled back from him and shook his head. "I don't trust them....I don't trust that Emmissary either....he is hiding something from us.....let me come with you....I can watch your back!" Goldeneyes grinned and reached to pull his lover back to his arms. "Yes...I can imagine the looks as I enter the streets of my home and march to my father's door with my Uman Pyromancer lover in tow, they will barely tolerate me love...you saw how Doshair reacted when he found out what you were and how he recoiled when he knew about our relationship!" "I don't care!" Blaze said with almost child like petulance. "I can look out for myself and for you....but you know what it would be better if you didn't go....stay here with me.....the baby is due soon, you want to see mine and Sita's child don't you?" Goldeneyes did not want their last moments before his leaving to be like this, Blaze's pain was palpable, like a living thing, coiling about them, choking them. He had wanted them to enjoy each other, experience a pleasure that both could dwell on fondly when they were apart. He moved quickly to pin Blaze beneath him and he stared down in his green and gold flecked eyes. "I love you....and I don't want to be parted from you my Blaze, but sometimes we have to do things we don't like or want, remember when Elroug parted us in the Annexe for our own good? We did not like it.....but it happened and we survived. I will come home to you....I promise.....nothing will ever keep me from you in this life or the next." Blaze closed his eyes and his voice was choked. "I don't know how I will live without you!" He whispered. Goldeneyes did not answer that question with words...he let his next actions speak as to the intensity of emotion for his lover. The Present The dock soon became distant and Goldeneyes felt a leaden weight in his chest and he wondered whether he had actually done the right thing. He looked to where the Emmissary stood on the upper deck staring down on him with a cool smile on his face. The other Golden Elves on board barely spoke to him or acknowledged his presence. This was going to be difficult, but seeing his brothers and his mother would be worth it, they would forgive what what happened to him, what he had beeen forced to do, perhaps even his father too if he had called for him to come home. |

Two days into the sea voyage Goldeneyes wished he was back home, it was not the ship, nor the sea that was making him wish it....it was being among his so called people with nowhere he could get away from them. He had not realised how stuck up and xenophobic and opinionated they were, he was sick of the whispers as he walked past, the sidelong looks and the sneers. They were too far out too sea for him to dive overboard and swim for it and he was no sailor, he could not take a rowboat and navigate his way back like Allegro might be able to. He sat in the Master cabin with Emmissary Doshair and took the evening meal, there was no conversation and the meal was silent. Finally Goldeneyes spoke up, fed up with the long silences. "Is this the sort of treatment I can expect when we arrive back?" He said slamming his goblet down on the table. "I am sick of the whispers and the looks and being treated like a pariah....it was you people that asked me to come home...if you can't stand the sight of me why bother?" Doshair looked up coldly from his food and answered in a frosty clipped tone. "What do you expect...you are infamous, a slave to a Uman....a whore....and worse still we find out that you bed with that male abomination!" Goldeneyes straightened, his face pale and angry. "You should watch what you say!" He growled. "I could not help being taken by slavers as a child....nor that I was forced to fight or that I was sold off to people against my will for their pleasure, as for Blaze, that I could help....and I would not change my feelings or what we do for anything....so you know what Doshair.....Live with it!" The Elf Lord smiled cruelly. "You are the lowest of the low Raellin...your father should have left you to your life of sin in Kentaru!" He said in a slow deliberate voice using Goldeneyes' real name. "You are immoral and corrupt and I think no amount of prayer and cleansing can save you!" Goldeneyes pushed his chair back and rose, stalking to the door without saying another word. He went up onto the deck and stood at the rail watching the moon rise over the water sending silvery trails across the foamy caps. "Blaze was right, this was a bad idea!" He growled to himself. |

Goldeneyes kept to his own cabin for the rest of the journey and his meals were left at the door, he only came out when he knew they were close to pulling into the port of his homeland. It was strange to see the place, a half forgotten dream to him, he barely remembered the port, he had only seen it once as a small boy when his father had commissioned The Mirellan. The only other time he had been through this port was as a drugged teenager when the slavers had taken him, he had not seen it from the covered cage he had been in. There were a few other races on the dockside but it was predominantly Golden Elves. The ship slid smoothly into the dock and was prepared for disembarkation, and Doshair came to stand next to him as they prepared to step down the gangplank. "Your father has sent a carriage." The Emmissary said in the same cold tone he always seemed to adopt with his passenger. Goldeneyes looked towards the end of the quay and saw a closed carriage, the blinds on the windows were closed. There were no family waiting to see him eagerly on the dockside, no father waiting with open arms. He steeled himself as the plank was lowered, letting the Emmissary take the lead so not to further antagonise him. They walked briskly towards the carriage and a footman opened the door and Doshair stepped up and within followed by Goldeneyes. "Why are none of my family here?" Goldeneyes asked softly as he heard the whip crack somewhere above them and the carriage lurched off over the bumpy cobbles. That same frosty smile met his question. "That is not for me to discuss...I am sure your father will make all clear to you on your arrival Raellin." No more was said after that, they sat in stony silence as the carriage rumbled on towards his home. Goldeneyes was lost in thought as the journey went on, thoughts of Kentaru and Blaze, home sickness was setting in and he wanted nothing more than to just turn the carriage round and leave. Eventually the carriage lurched to a halt and light flooded into the interior as the door was opened. Doshair stepped out and Goldeneyes followed and was met by a contingent of House Guards, he frowned in confusion. "Take Raellin to the room that has been prepared for him, I need to speak to my Lord." He said to the Captain. "Where are my mother and brothers?" Goldeneyes said sharply as he was surrounded. Doshair did not answer as he walked away towards the house and the Captain was stoically silent at the question only speaking once the Emmissary was out of earshot. "Don't make this difficult on yourself boy....just come quietly, I am in no mood for trouble." Goldeneyes looked about himself, six heavily armed House Guard and he was weaponless, not a fair fight....what was going on here, why was he being treated in this way. "Fine." He said quietly. "And don't call me boy....my name is Gol...." He paused. "My name is Raellin." |

He was taken to a room at the furthest side of the house in a wing that he remembered was usually reserved for guests. The room was large and looked out onto the garden and was decorated in blue, green and gold. There was a large bed, a smaller room off of the main for washing and other ablutions, there was a tall wardrobe which the guard opened to show some clothing. They then left, but Goldeneyes knew there were at least two guards outside the door, another two at the end of the corridor and as if on cue two appeared in the garden. He moved away from the window and sat on the bed, he was confused and somewhat lost as to what was happening here. His father had wanted him to come home, to reconcile. So far he had been treated like a pariah and locked up like some sort of House Prisoner, something was not right....where was mother, Finn and Elar? He supposed he had been shown the robes in the expectation he would change to meet his family, so he went into the small room and pressed the spigot that allowed warm spring water to flow into a glass bowl. He washed and changed into the pale blue silk robe and fastened the clips at the shoulders. He then brushed his hair as best as he might. He still wore it to the length it was cut to in the Annexe, resting just on his shoulders, though he noted the males here wore it long down their backs and the front was braided on one side with silvery thread. He looked at himself in the mirror and suddenly felt very conscious, he felt strange in the light silky robe, used to the weight of armour. He was conscious that he did not fit in and that he was different to the other males here. The door opened and the Captain stepped in. "Your father will see you now." He was led down hallways and through a small atrium and into the main house and to his father's study, the guard knocked and a voice called out to enter. Goldeneyes' hand touched the handle and the door swung open to reveal his father's study, a place familiar to him from some distant memory, his father sat at his desk across the room and Doshair stood slightly behind him. Goldeneyes walked slowly across the room, he felt nervous, not sure what to expect. "Father." He said softly. Lord Setirion's face was unreadable as he set eyes upon his youngest son, one in truth he had never wanted to see again....though need had facilitated this meeting. He rose and came round the desk as his son stopped a few feet away and he slowly looked him up and down. "Raellin...." He said with no hint of happiness in his voice. Goldeneyes looked about in confusion, hurt at the tone of the man that had asked him to come home. "Where is Mother...Findaril and Elarin?" He asked firmly, trying not to show his upset. The older Elf Lord turned and went to sit back down but he did not offer his son a seat. "Dead!" He said coldly. Goldeneyes felt the room sway beneath him at the coldly imparted news....surely that was not true. "Your mother died the year after you were taken...she wasted away, the healer said she had died of a broken heart....I do not understand it, she had two other sons!" The Elf Lord said harshly. "Findaril joined the Militia and was killed three years ago in a border skirmish with ogres.....and Elarin succumbed to some sort of fever and died six months ago!" Goldeneyes put a hand out to steady himself, his heart was racing and his throat felt constricted. "You are lying!" He said in a choked whisper. " Why are you so cruel?" It was Doshair that spoke next. "It is no lie Raellin....they are dead...all three." Lord Setirion's eyes rested icily on his son, taking him in, the shorter hair that no respectable male would have, knowing that he had been a slave, knowing he had given his body for the pleasure of others....and the latest news that he bedded with a Uman male ...who worse still was a Pyromancer...nothing short of a Daemon. All of this had transpired because he had his son taken on his birthday all those years ago, a fit of jealousy that his wife paid more attention to the boy than him. "You are an abomination...a dirty filthy abomination that I would never have laid eyes on again except in the most direst of situations....I did not want you here....you are my living shame!" The Lord hissed slowly. Goldeneyes had turned ashen at the words spoken, the cruel news of his mother and brothers and the vitriol and venom about himself. All he wanted to do was run, but where could he run to...he was miles from home, surrounded by a people he did not know and many armed guards outside. "Then why did you send for me to come if I disgust you that much?" He said in a hurt whisper. Setirion smiled cruelly. "Believe it or not.....you will be of some use to me.....if you do as I ask then all will be well for you." Goldeneyes met his father's wicked gaze. "And if I don't?" The words turned the younger elf's blood cold. "You'll never see that Pyromancer Daemon or Kentaru again!" |

The Lord was pleased to see the shock in his youngest son's eyes, it seemed this Pyromancer had a tight grip on him, his need to be with that creature would override any rebellion. "Now....we should dine, and you can meet my new wife." He said smoothly, gesturing to Doshair and Goldeneyes to follow him. Goldeneyes followed along in silence, his mind a whirl and his heart filled with sorrow, all he wanted to do was be alone and quiet, he could leave, he was trapped. He followed the pair into the dining room which was laid with four places, one of which was already occupied by a woman, not much older than himself. She was dressed in a fine pale lilac silk, her long honey blonde hair ornately arranged and held with jewelled pins. She was beautiful, not like his mother had been, but she had a beauty about her that was hard to ignore. "Ahhh....Estoria....here you are, I would like you to meet my youngest son...Raellin." The woman rose and come to stand in front of them, she was smaller than all them, petite and sweet with her bright smile. "Greetings Raellin.....I am so glad you could join us, that you have finally come home." She said softly, her golden eyes lighting on his momentarily with some curiosity. Goldeneyes gave a curt and polite bow. "My Thanks Lady Estoria." He wanted to shout at her that she had no place here, to rile at his father at his callous treatment and to storm away back to the docks, his eyes slid to the various entrances to the room, again House Guards were stood on duty. They all took their seats and servants bought in the first course of a light cool soup. Goldeneyes ate in silence, and listened as the Lady chattered to her husband about this and that and how the Lord smiled and nodded, a contrast to his earlier behaviour. "So Raellin...Setirion said he finally managed to trace you in Kentaru, an odd place ruled by a Wolvian...he said he paid a high ransom for you.....the King facilitated this." Estoria said over her soup. Goldeneyes slowly lowered his spoon and looked towards his father who returned the look with a cool stare. "Yes Kentaru is ruled by a Wolvian...King Elroug the First....I was in that place." He said slowly. "Though it was not the King that ransomed me, He is a good and just ruler....better than most I have encountered." The Elven woman smiled gently. "Well you are back with us now...though I am sorry you had such sadness to come back to....your mother and brothers, it must be hard for you." Goldeneyes returned her smile, he would play their game for now. "You have no idea my Lady.....the sadness I have come home to!" |

The rest of the meal was almost silent except for the chatter from Estoria on her day, when they were done the woman rose and made her excuses to leave the table, All three men rose and bowed politely as she left. They sat back down and a servant bought three glasses of Quivermisst, the expensive elven spirit for the men to finish off their meal. "My new wife is lovely is she not Raellin?" Lord Setirion said after a few moments. "Pretty, fertile, she should give me new heirs to continue the family line." Goldeneyes sipped the spirit from the delicate goblet and then set it down at the comments by his father. "I suppose so....now can I ask why you have called me here and the reason for your veiled threats to me." Setirion smiled thinly. "T'is a delicate matter that only myself, Doshair and the house Physician are aware of....I have tried to produce a child with Estoria and we have not been successful, the Physician says the problem lies with me, he does not know why. There must be heirs to the Jarshen name, you unfortunately are no longer viable for that name because of yours sins...but you can still ensure it continues." Goldeneyes looked puzzled, what by all the realms could he do about this problem....not that he wanted to help in any way at all after his treatment thus far. "I don't understand what you want of me?" He said slowly. Setirion stared coolly at him, the coldest and most calculating of looks. "You will seed Estoria with a child.....three in fact....I will say they are mine, once it is done you can go back to your abomination of a lover in Kentaru." Goldeneyes' eyes widened in shock and disgust and he pushed back from the table and rose. "So you have bought me back as a stallion to seed your wife as you are no longer up to the task!" He turned towards the door but the way was blocked by House Guards, he turned back to face his father. "No! I will not do this....not to her....nor be unfaithful to my love....you ask too much!" Setirion rose and slammed his fist on the table and gestured for his son to sit. "You will do this or you will never go back to Kentaru, I will have you locked in the Temple atoning for your sins until the day you die! These children will ensure our family line, as you will be struck from the family tree, the last member of my family sired to Mirella. These new children will be bought up righteously and honourably and know nothing of you Raellin." Goldeneyes held his ground and glared at his father. "You cannot make me do this!" The Lord, still standing, held his son's gaze across the table. "I can...I will.....do not test me boy!" |

A tall figure entered the room, as with all of their kind, he was fair and smooth faced, yet his eyes held a wisdom that was clear to see. He came to the side of the table and gave a short bow. "If my Lord...you are finished with Raellin I have time now to make my examination." He said softly. The Lord slowly smoothed his robes and sat back down and looked up to the speaker. "Atrius...good....we are done with dinner, please do take Raellin out of my sight before we both say further things we might regret." He said smoothly. The man turned to Goldeneyes. "If you please young master Raellin...accompany me to my study, I am sure we have many things to discuss." Goldeneyes had a vague recollection of this man from when he was a boy, the House Physician, he had patched him up on numerous occasions after training vigorously with his brothers. He had been gentle, kind, there was no reason to see that anything had changed. He rose from his chair and followed the man out into the corridor and walked along side him followed by a contingent of four guards. They turned a few ways this and that and ended up in the East Wing away from the main living quarters. Atrius opened the door and gestured for Goldeneyes to enter, he turned to look at the guards. "Please wait out here, this is a matter of privacy and I am sure the man I treated as a boy means me no ill will." He turned to Goldeneyes. "Do I have your word Raellin?" The younger elf nodded and Atrius closed the door and turned to face him. "I am glad you still are alive Rae. You have grown to be a fine looking young man." He said softly. Goldeneyes took a breath. "Is it true...what he said about my mother....my brothers?" Atrius nodded his head. "A sorry business indeed....your mother was never the same after your disappearance, in the beginning each day she lived in hope you would be found...when your father abandoned the search, she still looked everywhere for you...but it was breaking her down Master Rae, until it finally took her." He paused briefly. "Finn did die in a border skirmish, Elarin puzzled me the most, the fever came out of nowhere and took him down quickly." Goldeneyes closed his eyes. "May the gods love and protect them like they never did me." He whispered. He opened his eyes and tried to push thoughts of his family away. "What did you mean when you said examination to my father?" Atrius looked mildly uncomfortable and he looked away briefly. "Your father wants you checked Raellin to make sure you have no illnesses and are free of diseases." Goldeneyes stiffened slightly and heated with embarrassment. "He wants to ensure that you have caught no diseases that will infect his wife....he was specific that I checked for those, he stated you had been with many....men...women...and other things." "I assure you I have no diseases Atrius." He said sharply. "Nor have I been with 'other things' as you term them!" Atrius mused a smile at the icy retort. "You are still a fire cracker." He said gently. "As a boy you riled and balked at medicine if you needed it!" "However I must make the examination of you in your entirety...have you had any illnesses since you were away from us?" Goldeneyes sighed. "Not really...I was poisoned, but Blaze saved me from dying there, I suffered a bad stomach wound from a sword but Llewellyn healed that...nothing else really." Atrius wrote it all on a scroll which he retrieved from his desk as Goldeneyes spoke. "How were you saved by this Blaze from poison...which poison?" He asked. "Sithra....and he burned it out of me like he can himself...Blaze is a Pyromancer." Atrius looked up quickly, but he did not say anything straight away. "It left me with an ability...an immunity to his fire..." Goldeneyes said softly. The Physician did not write that down, instead he laid the scroll aside. "This Pyromancer could do that? Why did he do such a thing.....Pyros are all killers Raellin." Goldeneyes smiled fondly. "Because even though he didn't know it or understand it then....he was in love with me." |

Atrius was quiet as the younger Elf spoke, he was older and educated and he had read many books on many things and he knew about this, it was not unheard of, but it was rare, very rare. "His magic has bonded to you....you are joined in all senses of the word." He said softly. "Do not speak to your father of this...ever....he would kill you Raellin." Goldeneyes took a soft breath and then another, he knew this, somehow he did know it but to hear it spoken aloud by another made it seem very very real. "He won't kill me until I have given him three children." He retorted. "It seems I am good for something to him after all." Atrius bowed his head. "I am sorry Rae.....truly I am to learn these things, all you must want is to go home, back to your Wolvian King and your Pyromancer." Goldeneyes did not answer that, he did not need too. "Let us finish this examination, I am tired and want to go to my room." He said quietly. Atrius gestured to a silk screen. "I need you to remove your robes for the physical examination....I will make this as quick as possible, you are a serving soldier, I expect you to be in good health and fit." Goldeneyes went behind the screen and disrobed, Atrius came through a moment later and made his examination, trying to be as non invasive as he might. His fingers lightly touched the pale scar across his patient's mid-section. "Someone stitched you up well.....this was a bad wound...yes?" Goldeneyes nodded briefly. "Llewellyn is the best, we are thorns in his side most of the time, especially when it comes to check ups....but he is the best." The physician gestured for him to cloth himself again and went to wait out in his main room, Goldeneyes joined him moments later. "You are fit and well...I will report this to him, but I will say nothing of the Pyromancer or the joining, I have not recorded it...please do come and see me Raellin, even if you just need someone to talk to....the next several years will be hard for you." Atrius said softly. |

Goldeneyes merely nodded and made no answer, hearing the duration of his captivity here said like that had made him feel low, spending that long without Blaze, Sita's child would already be a toddler, she might even have had another by then, not being able to be part of Elroug's on going mission...it was like being in the Underworlde. "I would like to go to my room now." He said very quietly after a moment. Atrius laid a hand on his shoulder. "Of Course Rae......remember I am always here if you need me." He then opened the door and the four soldiers stood to attention. "Take Master Raellin to his quarters." He said smoothly. Goldeneyes was led down the corridors again to the quiet part of his father's house, one that no-one barely ventured into any more and was show back into his quarters. The Soldiers took up their position again two outside the door and two at the end of the corridor. The elf shut the door and went and laid on the bed staring up at the ceiling, weighing his options. He could make a run for it, but he would be hunted down and bought back, even if he made the port he had no great money with him to secure a ship home, which was six days by sea. He could stay, but that would mean servicing his father's wife and praying she got with child....waiting nine months for a birth, giving her time to recover and do the whole thing again...twice! That could make it four years or more of being a prisoner here. His options were getting slimmer by the moment. Blaze might come for him....that was a dream....likely Elroug would counsel that he needed to stay his ground and give his lover time to understand his people and reconcile with his father. If only the king had known what he had let him walk into! Perhaps Allegro might come to these shores...come to visit.....he could escape with his old friend and go home.....now he was fantasising! He rose and walked to the window and stared out into the oncoming evening, the scent of flowers from the lilac bushes in the garden was strong, flowers his mother had planted....he remembered her putting the seeds in the ground, the bushes had grown and endured....his mother had not, nor had Finn...or Elar. Only he remained....his father's disgrace...reviled and hated by him....but good enough to make him a new family. |

A few days passed uneventfully for him, meals were delivered to his room, the guards came to escort him round the grounds for air when he asked, all in all it was very boring. Then he was sent for, he dressed and followed the guards to his father's study where his father sat with Estoria, Doshair and Atrius. The young woman was red eyed from crying, obviously they had just broken the happy news to her too. "Sit down." His father said quietly and gestured to a chair. "Estoria has been told of the situation, she is obviously distressed and unhappy, but I told her that at least our children will be of Jarshen blood." Goldeneyes looked to the girl and offered a half smile. "I am sorry....I am no more happy about this situation than you....perhaps if we spoke and took a walk and got to know each other a little better....it might help." He offered. |

BACK IN KENTARU Sita had not seen Talanis in days, not since Goldeneyes had left. He had left the docks soon after and disappeared into Kentaru, she felt his sorrow and pain and wanted to help him, but he had retracted. She had spoken to the King the previous night and he too had been concerned at Talanis' disapperance, he had not turned up for any Council Meetings nor those of Strategy which he was required at. Elroug would cut his General a little slack but now it was becoming apparent Talanis was deliberately defying his King it seemed. The Pyromancer had not left Kentaru, but he was laying low, the only person he was engaging with out of habit was a prisoner in the jail, Lucion Avarn to be precise. Luc had the uncanny knack of sensing distress in Talanis and knew just what to say and today was no different. A loyal guard to the General had admitted him entrance and Talanis sat outside the cell after passing Luc a flagon of wine, good wine. The man took a swig and settled himself on his pallet and regarded the younger man with a smile. "You have not been to see me in a while Blaze....I thought that perhaps Llewellyn had managed to counsel you against it." He took another swig of wine. "No...." Talanis said softly. "I have just been....busy." "I hear that Goldeneyes is gone....you are bereft....I understand it." Luc said coolly. "It is how I felt when he took you away from me." Talanis glared at the prisoner and growled. "Don't start Luc...he never took me from you because I was never with you!" Lucion chuckled. "Oh Blaze....you don't know how much I have missed you....underneath this servile facade you have created the Pyromancer still burns hotly, death and the kill are in your veins....you should have incinerated the Golden Elf envoy and you'd still have that harlot you call a lover." Talanis' eyes almost glowed. "I wanted to....I wanted to kill him....but it would not have looked good on the king to have done so!" Lucion moved to press against the bars and stared into the Pyromancer's eyes. "You are not a servant to that overgrown dog that plays at king....he needs you more than you need him....do what you do best Blaze...burn and kill!" Talanis rose. "I should not have come....you bring out the darkness in me." He said softly. "No my beloved flame....not the darkness.....I set you free.....allow your fire to have life....be your namesake...Blaze!" Luc hissed. The Pyromancer walked from the cell and out into the night....caught in the indecision of what to do....by the Gods he wanted to burn someone....something....and Kentaru did not have Goldeneyes to protect them from it. |

Outskirts of Kentaru Talanis had walked through Kentaru to its outskirts, the hood of his cloak drawn over his head, past merchants and soldiers and out to an abandoned grain silo on the edge of the town. His blood was hot, raging, the fire coursing through him like before in Aerie, it needed out....Talanis wanted to let it out. He knew the silo was abandoned as he had done an inventory not two months before. He had Goldeneyes had been tasked with checking buildings on the outskirts....the silo had been ramshackle and empty, scheduled for demolition, he and Goldeneyes had made love in its dark depths as only they could. He stood staring at the wooden structure, his throat constricted as he remembered their time in its interior, his heart ached...and with a guttural roar he thrust his hands out and released a torrent of fire towards the building. It went up quickly, orange flames lapping upwards, somewhere in the distance he could hear cries of 'Fire'. Again he threw his fire at the burning structure and again.....and again until he fell to his knees exhausted, sobs racking his chest. That was how the Fire Watch found him...approaching cautiously....followed by the Guard. They sent word to the Keep and then the King came....with a heavily pregnant Sita and Llewellyn in tow. The huge white Wolvian stood staring down at the dirty and dishevelled Pyromancer with his yellow eyes quite calm, Sita stood tearfully and afraid at his side and Llewellyn next to her. "Are you quite done Talanis?" He growled softly. "Are you quite done acting like a petulant child and letting Luc turn your focus." |

Kentaru Talanis turned his gaze upwards to look at Elroug, his eyes still amber from the flow of the Pyromancy through him, his face was streaked with ash and tears. "Luc has nothing to do with this!" He said angrily. "You made Goldeneyes go....you pushed him to go home!" Llewellyn stepped forward and folded his arms across his chest, he had Luc's cell watched by a man loyal to him, one that reported every time Talanis visited him. "You were with him tonight...you let him whisper his venom in your ear and here we are!" The Physician snapped angrily. "He has everything to do with it!" Elroug held up a paw and Llewellyn fell into silence. "Goldeneyes needed to go home....he was taken very young from his family...he needed to reconcile and to learn who and what he is....he could not do that here Talanis." He said with a soft growl. "Do you think he would be pleased that you visited with Luc to seek counsel, that you have turned from your duties....left Sita unattended with your child due any day?" Sita came forward and kneeled awkwardly down to look into Talanis' eyes. "Come home love....I know you hurt....I know that you miss him.....let me help you." She said firmly but gently. She reached out to touch his stubbled cheek but could not...he was still radiating so much heat. "Let us help you...he will be back in no time at all. Do your duty to your King...to your unborn child....seek Llewellyn's counsel in troubled moments in your mind....Lucion Avarn has nothing to offer except darkness and deceit." Talanis ground the tears from his eyes and pulled back his heat, rising and helping Sita to as well. "Forgive me my King....I will attend my duties tomorrow, and I also beg your forgiveness for my behaviour." He said meeting Elroug's eyes. "If I am to be punished for this then I accept that as well." He gestured to the silo, now a smouldering heap dampening by the water from the Fire Watch. Elroug shook his head. "I do not punish....you will punish yourself enough for your behaviour...but I know where to come if I want old building demolished!" He said with an odd chuffing sound, anyone who knew him would recognise it as amusement. |

Ufaeria Estoria sent an invitation to Goldeneyes to meet her in the garden pavilion for tea the next day, just the two of them, she felt it best that she got to know something about the Jarshen that her husband had chosen to father his children upon her. He dressed simply and without ceremony and went out into the gardens to find the Lady of the House pouring Jasmine Tea for them both, its delicate fragrance infusing the air. "Please sit Raellin." She said softly. He took a seat and picked up the cup and drank a little of the tea, he had forgotten its taste, a drink not often taken outside of these Isles. "I prefer Goldeneyes...I know most consider it an insult but it is the name I have been known by all these years I have been absent." He said quietly setting the cup down. The young woman looked at him curiously, she felt him to be an oddity, a Golden Elf but not one. "I am sure your father would not approve of me calling you such." She said with the softest of smile. "I don't think he cares what I am called as long as I sire children upon you my Lady." Goldeneyes said after a moment. "To him I am nothing more than a stallion he has bought...I am stabled well, fed well, and expected to perform well....I am in no doubt that I will be punished well if I do not!" Lady Estoria's eyes widened at his frankness, it was true that Setirion never spoke of his youngest son that went missing, but she had not known the depths of her husband's disregard for him. "Why does he despise you so Goldeneyes?" She asked picking up her own cup, her eyes taking in the handsome young elf man that sat opposite her. "Because I am everything that our kind hates." Came the reply. |

Estoria looked at him with some confusion. "What do you mean by that?" Goldeneyes took a breath, realising that the woman had been told nothing of him, she didn't know about where he had been or what he had been. He would not hide behind it, he was not ashamed of who or what he was. He unlaced the top of his robe and pushed it down over his left shoulder to reveal Cathiss brand. "I was a slave my Lady....from the day I was stolen from my homeland up until a few years ago." He said softly. "I was forced to fight for people's amusement, afterwards...I was sold to them for a night's pleasure, so I suppose that would make me a whore in the eyes of many though I did not receive one coin for my labours." The lady blushed deeply, averting her eyes from his bare shoulder and she spoke very softly. "That is a terrible thing to have happened to you." Goldeneyes did not answer her straight away, a little surprised she was still sitting opposite him and not running back to the house demanding his immediate departure. "I am also in love with a Pyromancer....he is my life." He watched as Estoria's eyes widened at that statement. "You do not have a female?" Goldeneyes smiled briefly. "No....I was sold to many females....but I love Talanis." |
