| Welcome to A Worlde Apart. We hope you enjoy your visit. By logging in you enter a Sci-Fi themed collaborative writing game in which you are invited to create a character (or 2) and exercise your imagination in conjunction with other writers to create a series of stories based upon a background that I (Dagiris) have started (Much inspired by www.worldearcane.com which is currently inactive) and that you as players and writers will expand upon and adapt over time. The setting is a pocket universe entirely separate from our own, it exists in a Null Space where galaxies do not exist, only isolated star systems. Each star system is surrounded by a sphere which gives the sentient population within the illusion that they are in a "normal" area of space, their telescopes and sensors will see stars and galaxies beyond the confines of their own star system, but until they unlock the truth, then any attempt to travel beyond their star system will result getting lost in the Null Space, forever unable to to return. The incursions had been small at first, random attacks on small hamlets and remote areas. Daemons were not widely seen in the Worlde...there were some, but not many. Their presence was seen in the bastard offspring they left behind or the bodies that were found. Daemons fed on life force and any that came into contact with a hungry Daemon never lived to tell the tale, their husked bodies were all that was left and they were burned. Now they were coming on mass from the Void, fighting forces, bent on causing destruction in their wake. They were creatures so terrible and so beautiful, so cruel... devoid of the emotions that Umans, Elves and Dwarves and the other races of the Worlde were familiar with. Daemons killed, Daemons fought, Daemons toyed with their prey. There were also different levels of Daemon in their hierarchy, there were the Base, the lowest of their kind, despised by their bretheren, followed by the Undkai, a type of footsoldier, the Hiawn, their middle Nobilty, The Ilur, Daemon royalty and the Elder, discarnate entities rarely ever seen. All except the Elder were entering the fray, the Worlde was ripe for the picking, a rich source of amusement and food for the Daemons, yet they were meeting resistance on all fronts...so it became a war...it would be known in later history books as the Daemon Wars....and this is where the tale begins. |

Witht the arrival of the full Daemons came a dramatic and marked change in Talanis' ability to wield fire. When in contact with a full Daemon his fire became like white hot lighting, dispersing the Daemon and sending it away. This new and marked change in him scared the Pyromancer but it also became a powerful weapon in what was fast becoming a war against the invading species. This is where they sat now, in the War Council of King Elroug the First. Talanis looked weary, the new change in his ability tired him when he used it. Goldeneyes sat close by protectively glancing at his lover from time to time as a news report was bought in. The Daemons were close to Kentaru. All of his Generals were in attendance, even Allegro who spent much of his time at sea. Elroug listened to the report and his gaze went towards the Pyromancer. Talanis had been keeping the few Daemons that had strayed this way at bay, but now they came in a larger force. Talanis was only one, the Daemons were many. Their quickest and best line of defence against them would be overwhelmed by the sheer volume. All would be called on to fight for their home, this was not solely one man's burden, Llewellyn had counselled him that Talanis was tired, needed to rest but the Pyromancer went out everyday with Goldeneyes into the surrounding countryside and saw off any Daemons that strayed too close. "Start marshalling the Battalions Allegro.....Thestro I have a special mission for you which we will speak of later." The Wolvian said in a soft growl. "Llewellyn, please start an inventory of medical supplies and people that can be taught how to tend wounds quickly...and those with more skill." He looked to Goldeneyes. "For now....both you and Talanis will take some rest, this is an order." Talanis stook placing both hands on the table and he shook his head. "We cannot do that my King.....Daemons do not rest....and while they don't I don't.....you need both of us in this fight!" His tone was sharp and tight. Elroug rose and towered over Talanis, his voice was stern and gruff. "You are no good to me half dead on your feet Talanis, rest or I will have you sedated!" Goldeneyes rested his hands on his lover's shoulders. "C'mon Blaze, the King is right....you need to rest, you don't want Llewellyn shoving his concoctions down your throat now...do you?" The Pyromancer closed his eyes and took a breath before opening them. "A few hours then...." He said softly. Elroug looked pointedly at Goldeneyes and the elf nodded at the unspoken command....Blaze would rest for more than a few hours. Edited by Talan, Nov 16 2017, 07:57 AM.

Goldeneyes pulled Talan along the street to where their home in Kentaru was, Sita watched from the door as they came up the road. She was concerned, Talan looked exhausted and Goldeneyes mirrored her concern in his eyes. She ushered them both in and Sukie appeared from the kitchen with two steaming bowls of stew and two mugs of ale. Sukie had taken to staying with Sita to help with the children while Talan and Goldeneyes were away. Talan picked up the spoon and stirred the stew and took a mouthful, it was good and he cleaned the bowl and felt somewhat better, he took his ale to the fireside and collapsed into a chair and stared into the flames. Goldeneyes finished his meal and followed Sukie and Sita into the kitchen. "He can't keep this up Goldeneyes!" Sita said in a soft whisper. "He cannot keep riding out to fight Daemons, barely resting...barely eating!" The Golden Elf laid his hands on Sita's shoulders. "The King has ordered him to rest...gods I thought Blaze was going to defy the king to his face....he was going to go out again Si....but Elroug has that way with him, Blaze backed down and agreed to take a few hours, though Elroug made it clear to me it was to be more than that!" Sita leaned against the tall Elf. "Can we make him rest though Goldeneyes...it's not as though we can slip something into his ale and make him sleep." She whispered. Goldeneyes smiled and stroked her hair. "I have my ways Sita, by the time I am done he will sleep." He mused. Sita stepped back. "Is it getting that bad out there? Are they really coming here?" She asked, Sukie turned from washing the bowls. Goldeneyes nodded. "They are coming...Elroug is mobilising the army....I wish there was somewhere we could send you both and the children....but nowhere is safe." |

Goldeneyes watched as Talan finally slept, he gently removed himself from the bed and padded to a chair to grab a robe to pull on. He quietly opened the door and stepped out into the small corridor and walked along to his study. He needed to look at the maps, mark where the Daemons were gathering and camping. He lit the fire to ward off the slight winter's chill and looked up at the soft knock at the door. It opened to reveal Sita carrying a tray. She set it down on the desk, on it was some hot mulled cider, bread, cheese, buns and a roll of parchments. "The King sent those over, they are the latest reports of Daemon activity." She said softly. Goldeneyes kissed her on the cheek. "Thanks Sweet One...you must read my mind....I do feel hungry." He mused. Sita smiled. "Is Talan asleep now...finally....?" She asked. Goldeneyes gave a wry grin and nodded. "Aye...I wore him out." Sita shook her head in amusement, sending her gold curls bouncing lightly. "He cannot keep facing them like this Goldeneyes....he is just one.....they are many." She said finally. The Golden Elf knew she was right, Blaze was wearing himself out, the new incarnation of his power drew so much from him. Yes it was very effective what he could do in dispersing the Daemons...but at what cost. "He will not listen Sita...I have argued this point with him as has the King....typical Pyro, wilful and headstrong to the last!" Sita absently picked up a sweet bun and nibbled on it, she knew Goldeneyes was right, Talanis would never just back down. "I don't want to lose him Goldeneyes." She said quietly. The Elf pulled her into a warm hug. "I know that feeling Sita, truly I do!" |

Several miles from Kentaru in a large open plain the encampment of General Sa'Harir of the Tenth Ring were settling. The Daemons flitted in and out of the Void and more were joining by the hour, not just from the Tenth but from other places. They were being called and soon they were to be addressed by an Elder. In his tent Sa'harir who also happened to be a Prince as well as a General sat and looked over the maps provided to him by one of The Base that had done reconnaissace of the area. The nearest largest settlement to this place was one called Kentaru, fortified, not that walls meant much to their kind...the Soldiers however would prove more amusing. Rumour had it that this place was ruled by a large Wolf and that he found more amusing than anything else...these Umans and Elves and other races cowtowing to a large dog. One thing did give him cause for a pause in his amusement though and that talk of a power, an individual with the ability to disperse his kind. Obviously it was one person and an individual could be overwhelmed and bought down. Daemons that had escaped this oddity spoke of a Uman, with a Golden Elf in tow...he was lightning itself, a power so bright and disruptive and it shattered the Daemons cohesive solid state and forced them into the Void injured. Just as he was about to enter the Void to rest...he and every other Daemon on the Plain heard a voice in their minds...a powerful voice, old yet not. "Hear me Children for now I speak....you will find and bring me the one that I have heard of in your reports....the Uman that holds the power of Nythoria...he is but one...you are many, he is untrained and you are Daemons." Sa'Harir narrowed his eyes at the words.....so this power had a name then.....odd he had not heard of it....Nythoria, he shook his head and listened on. "This Uman is the only thing that can hold me....only power can contain power....bring this Uman here and I will come and be present among you for the battles to come...all will fall before us!" The command had been given...the voice was gone. So an Elder wanted to come through and play.....all the others would be vying for position and prestige, hoping to catch this Uman and present it. Sa chuckled to himself, fool's errand to be sure if this Uman was powerful, there would have to be sacrifices to get to him, he would have to be worn down...but that was what The Base were for. Let the others do the grunt work and lose their soldiers.....he would catch this Uman in the end. |

Talanis woke groggily and sat up, he did not know how long he was asleep for but he did notice that he was alone in his bed. Goldeneyes was not there, but sat in a chair a short way off was Sita. She moved to sit on the bed next to him. "I thought you might never wake." She said softly kissing his lips. "How long have I been asleep?" Talan asked, coming to a little more. Sita looked to him with concern in her pretty face, she would go and fetch Goldeneyes soon. "Three days Talan...since you came back that night with Goldeneyes." She said gently brushing back his chestnut hair from his face. "Three days!" Talan said sitting up bolt upright. "How could you and Goldeneyes let me sleep that long with what's going on!" Sita stood up and put her hands on her hips. "You were exhausted Talan...dead on yer feet....I know Elroug told you to rest!" Talan was already out of bed. "Where's that bloody Golden Elf....I hold him responsible for this!" He fumed. "Goldeneyes is at the Keep, Elroug called the Generals together....now calm down!" |

Talanis and Sita were interuptted by a knock at the door downstairs which Sukie answered. She rushed upstairs immediately briefly knocking on the bedroom door. "A soldier has come....there is an incursion in the valley outside of Kentaru....you are needed General." She said breathless from her dash. Talan hurriedly dressed ignoring the protests from Sita. "Do you want our children enslaved or corrupted by Daemons!" He hissed angrily as he pulled his leather breastplate on. He preferred the toughened leather armour than the full plate kind. He sat on the bed and pulled on his boots. "Send Sukie or that guard outside to the Keep inform the others...I will go and hold them off." With that he was gone, leaving Sita and Sukie both standing there. "He is still so very impulsive." Sukie said softly as she saw Sita bite her lip and tears well up in her eyes. "I don't think that will ever change Sukie." Sita said anger tinging her voice. "The fire in his blood sometimes governs his head too much....Goldeneyes is going to be furious he has gone alone!" Sukie patted Sita's arm. "He can look after himself Si.....I will send the guard to the Keep to inform the King and Council." Sita nodded, outside the window she heard the clatter of hooves, turning to look out she saw Talan and Revenge take off up the street towards the city gates. In his haste he had not even bothered to saddle the horse, only using the bridle. "Goldeneyes is going to be so angry!" She said softly to herself. |

Talanis reached the Valley, slowing Revenge to a walk and then a stop he dismounted and tied the horse in a sheltered spot and continued on foot. He heard them first, their gutteral language, hissing and clicking up ahead of him. Daemons were rarely ever stealthy in these incursions and Talanis smiled to himself, suited him just fine making his life easier. He crouched down to view them, they were in a clearing, poking about and looking round. These were not Base Daemons, but the soldier ones. Talan knew he could take them, after all surprise was on his side, they did not know he was here. One Daemon did know though....watching from his place half in and half out of The Void, Sa'Harir was here to observe just what they were up against. These soldiers were just fodder to allow him to see the true extent of this Uman's supposed power. Also he wanted to see just what the Elder wanted to put itself into. Sa'Harir had liked the fact that he had autonomy here, but an Elder coming through would end that he would be expect to cowtow like the rest of them. Talan felt his power start to course through his veins, the white fire building inside him, this manifestation of his ability had taken him by surprise. It had never shown round Thestro, but then again he was a half Daemon, this had not started until he come up against his first full blooded Daemon. He remembered how shocked he had been when he summoned what he thought would be his normal fire to fight the creature but instead came the white fire, the force of it nearly taking him from his feet. The Daemon had writhed and screeched when struck with it and then vanished. Now what he called Daemonfire was there all the time....he had become more skilled at using it but it wore him down quickly. He moved silently to a better vantage point, the first two Daemons were close together, one burst would take them both and it did, before they could even register what had hit them. The others were alerted though and turned in the Pyromancers direction with baleful glares. "Firemaker!" The lead one hissed. Talan rose and smiled wryly. "Indeed." Sa'Harir watched with interest, he felt it as the first two Daemons were knocked howling back into The Void, shapeless and injured. There were another six Daemons in the clearing, could this Uman taken them all? He focussed on studying him again. Sa's brother was half Uman, handsome by their standards he supposed. This Uman was pleasing to look at as well, Sa'Harir was not sure whether it was his power or his handsome face that made it so. The Uman was brave taking them on by himself, there was no sign of the Golden Elf that he heard the Uman normally travelled with. Two more Daemons met their fate and then another, the Uman was quick, his use of the power like a dance almost in the High Daemon's eyes. He almost used it like a martial art, a trained fighter to boot as well....he was extraordinary. When he met the fifth Daemon, though his body was not tiring Sa noticed a drop in the force of the power the Uman was using, not by much. The sixth Daemon being dispatched confirmed it. Two were left and they circled the Uman Male who moved with them, reaching for his sword at his waist. He was resorting to conventional weapons....most interesting, but all was interuptted by the sounds of hunting horns, re-inforcements were arriving and at their head on a large white stallion was the Golden Elf and he looked furious as he leapt of his mount and joined the fight like a golden whirlwind. The two remaining Daemons bleeding and cursing stepped into the Void leaving the Uman and Elf alone, the Elf's troops circling the glade. "WHAT WERE YOU BLOODY THINKING!" The Golden Elf roared turning to the Uman. "ORDERS ARE THAT YOU NEVER FACE THEM ALONE....YOU KNOW THAT!" The Uman calmly put away his sword, Sa'Harir watched with interest from his hidden place. "I could handle it." He said softly. "Stop fretting!" The Golden Elf almost grabbed the Uman and shook him but he managed to contain himself. "Talanis....you could have been killed...or captured.....Elroug is not pleased." Sa tilted his head. He had a name now......Talanis..... |

The ride back was tense, Goldeneyes and Blaze were not speaking to each other and the soldiers with them kept their distance, they knew how volatile the Pyro could be at times and to be honest Goldeneyes could be just as bad when riled. When they entered the gates of Kentaru they did not go home but rode to the citadel as the king had summoned them both for a full report on the incident. Elroug was sitting in his study when Talanis and Goldeneyes entered and the tension was palpable between them. "Report." He growled softly, looking at the Pyromancer with stern yellow eyes. Talan told him what had happened and how many Daemons he had despatched before Goldeneyes had shown up. He was not sorry for what he had done, Talan felt he was more than capable of taking on a few Daemons despite what everyone thought. Goldeneyes stood seething across from him, the Elf's temper was reknown and the fact that his Blaze had wantonly put himself in danger did not sit well with him. Elroug finally looked to the Golden Elf, he could feel the General's anger like a living creature, it almost had a scent of its own, coppery like blood. "General Talanis my command was clear...you were not to engage the Daemons alone...yet you defied me with this reckless mission, it is not often that Goldeneyes and I see eye to eye but on this we are one!" He said calmly. Talanis glanced to Goldeneyes momentarily and caught a smug smile and turned back to the king with a scowl. "I am more than capable of taking them on....thanks to me Kentaru has remained unscathed to date!" He snapped, causing the King to growl in response. Elroug rose towering over Talanis. "You were given an order General....what use is structure and command when you feel like you can flaunt it any time you choose...what if our whole militia did that!" He glared down at Talan. "You were reckless and foolhardy....you put yourself and this city in danger!" "But here I am and the city is safe!" Talan countered snappily. Goldeneyes shook his head, this was Blaze at his worst in this sort of mood, normally he would never answer Elroug back in such a manner. It was not going to end well. "Go Home!" Elroug said quietly. "I am placing a House Guard on you....you are not to leave unless I say so. I think you need time to think about what you have done...consider yourself lucky you are not going to the brig for your insubordination." Talan's eyes flared and he went to retort but it was Goldeneyes that grasped his shoulder. "You have said enough for today.....go home to Sita and the children....I will join you in due course!" Talan scowled. "Don't bother...stay at the quarters here!" He hissed,. Goldeneyes watched as Blaze stormed away from him and the king, he then turned back to Elroug. "I am sorry for his behaviour my King." He said sharply. "Bloody Pyromancer....thinks he can take on the Worlde!" |

Back in his encampment Sa'Harir though over what he had seen in the stillness of his tent. The Uman was intriguing to say the least, the Elf also was of interest to the Daemon, he did like that shining golden hair....it was a preference of his. Of course he would not lay a finger on the Uman Firebrand, he was to be consigned to the Elder, you would have to be out of your mind to interfere with such a thing. How to trap such a creature though, he had seen first hand how the creature known as Talanis used his power, he had also seen the drain it had on him too. He was not well versed in using this aspect of himself it seemed, or it drew on him too greatly to the point he had to resort to fighting witn conventional weapons. He was obviously not allowed to fight Daemons on his own either, the spat between Uman and Elf had been most enlightening. Sa'Harir was greatly amused by it, the Elf seemed equally as firey and he scented a taste of the Firebrand's power about him too. 'Plans to make.'....Sa'Hair thought to himself. How does one capture fire? You give it something to burn. Edited by Talan, Apr 10 2018, 09:51 AM.

Talanis sat in his study at home and stared in the flames of the fire he had just set in the fireplace, he had been in a mood since he was sent home by Elroug and the argument he had with Goldeneyes at the Fortress. Goldeneyes had not been by for three days now, choosing to stay at their rooms within the fortress and now Talanis was just feeling angry and sorry for himself, he knew that the Elf and his king had been right in what they said but he felt that he could handle the Daemons. He had his power and he was good with a sword...so what really was the problem? Sita stood outside the door in two minds whether to go in, Talanis was not the best of people when he was in this sort of mood, he had sequestered himself, not speaking to her or their sons and it did not sit well with her. She made up her mind and opened the door and stood with her hands on her hips trying to look formidable. "Are you going to sulk up here for ever like a petulant child?" She snapped. "Your sons need you...I need you....just face up to the fact that you went against Elroug's command, potentially put yourself and those that had to come after you in danger...including Goldeneyes! They had every right to be annoyed at you!" Talan went to bristle back at her, but thought better of it, Sita was right he had been unfair to them all. "Is the guard still outside the house?" He said finally. Sita nodded. "Aye I have been feeding him and his compatriot for the past few days, they bed in turns in the stable." Talan grimaced. "Got any food downstairs for me love?" Sita gave a half smile and stepped forward to ruffle his hair and then pulled her into his lap. "Not sure that you deserve any after your behaviour." She said softly as she kissed him, feeling that perpetual warmth he always seemed to hold. "Perhaps I should just send you to bed like one of the boys!" Talan gave a wry grin. "If that's where you want me love." Sita wriggled free of his embrace and stood up. "Dinner is in a turn of the glass...go wash up and make yourself presentable, and perhaps you need to think about apologising to Elroug and Goldeneyes whilst you do!" She left the room and Talanis pondered on her words. He should and he would.....tomorrow. |

Goldeneyes paced back and forwards in front of the fire in his chambers at the Keep. He had not been home in three days now, still feeling angry at Talanis for his recklessness and his conduct in front of Elroug. There was a soft knock at the door and he turned and moved to answer the door to find Allegro holding a bottle of fine elvish wine. "Thought you might appreciate some company." The Sylvan Elf said softy, slipping past the Golden Elf and into the deeper comfort of the room. Goldeneyes gave a wry smile and shut the door. "Been a long time Allegro, what with you at sea all of the time now." The dark haired older elf gave a mirror of that smile and poured the wine into two goblets he found on a cabinet and handed one to his old friend. "The sea is a hard mistress to stay away from." He said in an amused tone. "She is demanding and likes my company." He took a swig from the goblet and tilted his head. "I take it you are staying here due to Pyro trouble...Llewellyn mentioned there had been some tension with you, Blaze and the King." Goldeneyes took a breath and then another and took his own deep draft from the wine goblet. "He is bloody foolhardy...never listens...thinks he can take on the whole Daemon army single handed!" He growled. Allegro raised an eyebrow. "Nothing new there then...he is a Pyromancer Goldeneyes you should know that by now...you will not change him!" "He has a family, he has responsibilities, he has me!" Goldeneyes retorted to his oldest friend. "He is still a Pyromancer and in all of my travels and scroll findings for Elroug, every document that I have read myself all say the same thing! You should count yourself lucky he has not gone on the turn and become a killer, most do you know! Blaze in somewhat unique in the fact that he has a better control of his power and that he serves a higher calling than Mistress Death!" Allegro said sharply. Goldeneyes fell into an armchair and sighed softly. "I hate being at odds with him Allegro...it feels like someone has cut out my heart!" Allegro moved to sit opposite his friend. "Then why don't you go to him?" Goldeneyes closed his namesakes and shook his head. "Not this time Allegro....he needs to come and apologise to the King and to me, he was wrong and he need to see it!" |

It was very late and the hammering on the door woke Talanis up suddenly, he pulled on a robe and told Sita to go back to sleep and went downstairs. It was one of the soldiers that had been watching the house whilst he was under 'house confinement' as ordered by the king. "General....you must come quick...Daemons in the Vale....the King has ordered you go in advance, he and the vanguard will follow hurry!" Talanis tilted his head. "Are you sure you have that order correct Soldier?" He asked. "Aye General!" The Guard nodded enthusiastically....."I have your horse ready!" The possessed man was convincing, and it was true...possession did not trigger the Firemaker's power! General Sa'Harir was indeed wise! Talanis nodded and stepped back in closing the door, he had to fetch his armour and his sword. Sita stirred as he came back in the bedroom to get his stuff. "Tal....what is it?" She said sleepily. "Nothing love...just orders....I'll be back soon." He said kissing her forehead. She snuggled back in the blankets and smiled as she drifted back to sleep. He took his stuff downstairs and dressed quickly and joined the soldier outside, he mounted Revenge and started towards the gate with his one soldier escort. "How far behind is the King and General Goldeneyes?" He called out to the man alongside him. "Not far Sir....they were just mobilising!" They rose out into the dark and towards the Vale, a large wooded area that then opened out into a valley. It was dark tonight, Talanis was sure there should have been a full moon. As they broke the trees into the valley he looked behind him to find the soldier nowhere to be seen. He took a slow breath breath and then another...a few Daemons...this should not take long, he tried to focus in the darkness and get a feel for how many he would confront. The clouds drifted away and the moon lit the valley and Talanis saw his quarry....hundreds of them....the valley was writhing with Daemons. He felt his blood chill....how could the intelligence have been so wrong...the soldier said a few. He heard a voice whispered close to him, but no-one could be seen. "You cannot take them all General Talanis....I only have to give the word and they will step into the Void and re-appear inside of Kentaru....think of your family....your king....your golden lover!" "What do you want?" Talan hissed unable to locate his adversary. "Not what.....who...and that who is you...you are a sought after prize by a High Daemon, an Eldar, I will ensure your precious town is spared if you give yourself up willingly now...." "To whom am I speaking with? What authority do you treat with?" Talanis growled. "I am General Sa'Harir, leading Officer among our Kind...I have full authority to treat with you Firemaker....now choose...you or your loved ones?" Edited by Talan, Jun 11 2018, 08:56 PM.

Talan stared out over the mass of Daemons, slowly he closed his eyes imagining the horror that would be bought upon Kentaru. "The town would be safe, my family, my King and Goldeneyes.....I have your word." He said quietly. Sa'Harir whispered softly in his ear. "It all will be safe....are you choosing to give yourself up?" Talan opened his eyes and took a long breath. "Before I do so I would see you and I would know what this Eldar wants?" Sa'Harir chuckled. "Feisty....I will have your word you will not use your power on me if I manifest!" Talan nodded. "You have it Daemon." Talan had never seen a Daemon like Sa'Harir before, he was huge almost leonine in appearance, he was no Base or Undkai he must have been higher up the order. Sa'Harir smiled a toothy grin and looked down at the smaller Uman. "The Eldar wants your body....to manifest in this worlde, it has decided only you have the power and strength to withstand a full possession by itself." Talan felt strangely nauseous at the thought, he would be puppeted by this thing. "What is going to stop it attacking Kentaru anyway when it has me?" He said slowly, his heat escaping his bones, he felt chilled. "I will caution against it....I have given my word your pitiful little town and those you love will be kept safe.....now come we have a way to travel....send your horse home unless you want it eaten it will be quicker if we travel my way!" Sa'Harir said shortly. Talan slowly dismounted and he laid his head against Revenge's neck. "Home boy....go home." He then slapped the horse on his rump and the black stallion turned and fled back the way it had come. Talan turned and looked back to the Daemon folding his arms across his chest. "Let us get this done!" He said sharply. Sa smiled coldly and wrapped his arms about the Uman General. "Straight to business.....good.....take a deep breath Firemaker." Talan barely took the breath as the Daemon stepped into the Void to travel back to his camp and as quickly as all the Daemons had appeared they vanished leaving the Vale empty. The Kentaru Watch stood at the gate armed and looking out into the night and were greatly surprised as they saw a riderless black horse galloping towards the gates. One of the guards stepped forward and held up his hands and spoke loudly and firmly to the sweating beast as it slowly to a trot as it reached them. "Whoa there....where did you come from?" He said reaching for the bridle. His companion squinted into the darkness and held up his torch and his eyes widened. "I know that horse....it's General Talanis' mount.....where is the General?" They looked into the blackness of the night time countryside from the mouth of the gatehouse and called out...but were met with silence. "Send word to the king....now!" The soldier said to his compatriot. Edited by Talan, Jun 11 2018, 09:41 PM.
