So two votes have come and gone. So far, the votes have been easy... taking out the no-shows and weak links. It's kind of like the practice rounds. I find it funny that so many people are having issues with self-votes and confessional penalties. It really sucks that Pam has one attached to her, because that blows the Helen blindside right out the window. Andy, not showing up, just makes him my official next target now. Why try to force a tie when it could end up being a three-way tie involving Pam. Losing Pam by accident in an attempt to blindside Helen, while at the same time losing Ryan's trust... yeah, no thanks. And Jack getting a confessional penalty? I did not see that coming. Randy makes sense. It's funny how there was this whole big plan to maybe blindside Randy... but it's not going to end up being a blindside at all because he is turning into another no-show. All-stars is off to a slow start. But when it picks up, it's going to be epic. On a side note, Green tribe is way too fast at posting!!! |

I figured as much. It's just a gap that might not make sense for reading purposes afterwards if I didn't ask

On a side note, I still don't trust Helen, and I especially don't trust her when Lindsey is online... because Lindsey was involved in the whole "super alliance" rumor and all the paranoia that went on yesterday, and everytime they are both online, Helen gets quieter with me... while still using personal messenger. It could be a coincidence. But I want to know what Helen and Lindsey talk about. Lindsey says a lot of things to Newman... mostly about people like Melissa. If Helen and Lindsey are talking, it could be a benefit later, because Newman is close with Lindsey and, theoretically, me and Pam are close with Helen... and Newman is also close to Helen. Add in Ryan, and you could have the makings of another "super alliance." But Helen won't talk to me about her dealings outside the tribe. I still honestly can't wait to vote her out. |

Update: 1/26/12 1:05 am My final message of the night... to T-bird: "Be warned... Besides me, the only two people logged in are Helen and Lindsey. And, again, they are both using personal messenger constantly. They are definitely talking... again... for a long time... again. What do you think is up with that? I know Lindsey gives you a lot of information. Has she said anything about Helen at all? I still can't get out of my head that Helen told us in a tribal group message not to listen to Lindsey if she said anything about her... over whatever happened between her, Lindsey, and Crystal yesterday. P.S. - I'm writing this at around 1:00 am eastern time." |

Update: 1/27/12 10:40 pm So Andy is suddenly here to play? Besides sending out the usual messages about how he's been busy and that we shouldn't count him out yet... and finally adding me on Facebook and trying to fit in, he also decided it would be a good idea to tell Helen that he heard Pam and I have a problem with her. Way to scramble. So Helen confronted me on the issue, and I admitted that I didn't like how she told Ryan I was "leery" of him, since it has made it harder to get a bond going with him. I stressed that I have no idea how he would have heard about that and indicated that I also don't know how Pam would be involved since I figured her and Pam were really tight. All lies of course. The thing is I need Helen right now, and unless she is just putting on her poker face and playing a scene, this might have actually helped our level of trust. Of course the last time I wrote in my confessional about trust with Helen, she went off and ratted me out to Ryan and then told Pam she didn't think she could trust me... so who knows. Have I mentioned I hate this tribe? But yeah, back to the story. Helen has finally come out and named some people outside the tribe that she trusts... namely, JR and... wait for it... Lindsey. Looks as though MY "womanly intuition" (speaking of Kate, of course) also works fairly well. So I brought up that if this so called "super alliance" really does exist, we can counter it with me/her/Pam/Ryan/JR/Lindsey/T-bird. She's playing along. I think Andy's days are numbered. But I still want off of this tribe. |

he he, Almost every game I've ever played........I always hate my tribe. I tend to get stuck with a player or two who you have to message 2 or 3 times get get one reply. Ugh. |

LOL... Well I don't have that problem with Helen. She is super active. Ryan, on the other hand, has ignored several a message... which is not the best when I'm trying to figure out how much to trust him. And Andy doesn't even show up... like ever. P.S. - I almost changed the text to purple, and then I realized I'm in my confessional and you won't vote me out for typing in red. LOL. |

What's your take on your tribe trying to post in purple most of the time? (except Andy doesn't seem to have read my instructions for how to change the color) Is this like a team unity thing? Or are some just doing it to fake loyalty? |

It's about the perception of loyalty. Once one person starts it (that was Ryan), everyone else feels they have to keep up the ruse or else they will look less loyal than the others. It's the same as the group messages. One person starts one (Ryan again), and then everyone else feels like they have to keep responding. Both scenarios are annoying, but they are necessary evils. It doesn't have a whole lot to do with real loyalty... or real tribe morale, though it's not necessarily fake. It's only fake if the person doing it feels no loyalty when they do it. Me? For now, it's half-real. I'll stick by these people so long as it's in my best interest, which it is for now. And yes, another reason to vote Andy out. He is the next Bobby-Jon. And that leads us to... Update: 1/28/12 11:40 pm Andy is messaging me today... on Facebook chat... because he is at a hotel for his son's soccer tournament, and that is the only method of communication the hotel computer can handle. He is also now texting me. He wants to be a part of the tribe, but it is probably too late. I'm talking all about tribe loyalty and the group. I'm talking about the desire to win. I don't want to get into chats about where individuals stand in the tribe, because he is at the bottom. I am doing my best to make him feel like he stands a chance, so that if we don't have to vote, he doesn't turn on us after a switch up or merge. At the same time, I know Andy's style. If I CAN get in good with him, other than Pam, he is the one person I actually feel like I might be able to trust the MOST on my tribe. I almost hope he is able to find the time to play, and that we get a chance to "bond." I could use another Tyson in my life right about now. Other than that, Ryan has been MIA, Pam is visiting her daughter and mostly away from the computer, and Helen is just bored and looking for as many ways to post as possible. I'm playing her on Words With Friends now. Real life interaction might help me win her over. Same thing with the fact that I'm around more than the others. We are talking strategy again, mostly based on what happens when the tribes change. I'm stressing the fact that we WILL need other people sooner than later. She assures me she really trusts Lindsey, so I've started a conversation with Lindsey about the same thing. I want the two of them to compare notes so they reinforce to each other that I can be trusted. I also am promoting Newman to Helen... by indicating he is anti-Melissa and also by presenting him and Lindsey as a pair of sorts. I know she talks to Newman a lot, so I've also let Lindsey know I like Newman. Nobody can know the extent to which I talk to Newman, but it's time I start covering my bases. |

Not so much of an update... more of a rhetorical question... 1/29/12 8:50 pm We are 40 minutes away from a major challenge and the only people logged in are me, the host, and a lurker... with Lindsey logging in and out. Where the HELL is everybody? I really hope everyone isn't just communicating offline. That would be sad. |
