So the Kamedo shack has turned into a mansion, and I am intent on turning its other inhabitants into my servants. Newman thinks he will be the master of the house, but alas, it is not to be, because Pam and I are onto his tricks. He thinks Ryan and Lindsey will bow to his every word... fetch the morning paper, walk the dog, and make him a cup of tea. He thinks I enjoy listening to him talk about how much control HE has over these people, and that I would be happy to be kept safe by his services, sheltered in his halls. But there are a couple problems that present themselves for Newman. 1. Lindsey is probably closer to Helen than he suspsects, and after tonight, I might actually ALSO be closer to Helen than he suspects. Helen actually called me on my phone. We made promises not to vote for each other tonight. The more Ryan gravitates toward Newman, the more I will most likely gravitate toward Helen... and she really has NOBODY ELSE now, other than me and maybe Lindsey and Pam. So, Helen just became valuable to me. Newman just lost value. 2. Pam knows more than he thinks about how much we communicate... because I actually communicate more with her than with him. And he isn't really the one in control now. I am. Because Pam pretty much will do what I want, and Helen will stay loyal to tribal lines. So, after Randy goes (and he will be the first vote... I made sure Helen drafted him for that very reason), while Newman THINKS Helen will be next, it is quite possible that it will be himself, or maybe Ryan exiting the estate. I have two options. Newman has one. And there is a curb waiting for one of us down the road. 3. I am FINALLY in a postion to initiate ninja hijinx. Espionage becomes effective starting immediately. I will get info from Helen on the one front and from Newman on the other front. Both of them think I am more loyal to them than the other. Pam will give me a ton of information. O, how she is so gloriously good at that. I reaped such great benefits in the form of information from her in Belize and the Office. Time to start yielding that harvest again. Ryan? Yeah, he can play however he wants. Unfortunately, Newman will mistakenly keep me informed on his every move. Once this information is compiled, sabotage will commence. People will be pitted against each other. The way I see it, Pam and I are the safest two people on this tribe, because after Randy bites it, it will become a battle between Newman and Helen, and Pam and I will not only NOT BE TARGETS OF EITHER SIDE, but will also HAVE THE POWER TO DECIDE WHICH SIDE PREVAILS. This is when assassination takes place. :ph43r: Did I ever mention how much I love my tribe? |

Update: 2/6/12 10:00 pm So I was pretty much away for the weekend, between work, apartment shopping, and the Superbowl. Seems that things have been pretty around here. Still, the slightest and subtlest LITTLE changes in various mindsets have made my situation a LARGELY more complicated one. To begin with, Ryan has now expressed interest to T-bird in the two of them teaming up with Lindsey and Helen to split up Pam and me. T-bird promises this won't happen. But, damnit, Mike, why can't you just trust me and see that I am trying to work WITH you? Mike is just impossible and paranoid and he is now number one on my wish hit list. Next, Helen has brought to my attention that someone on the other tribe is warning her that Pam and me are a "power couple." It might be Crystal. It might just be Ryan. Sometimes I think Helen says "someone on the other tribe" when she really means "Ryan..." in order to protect the not so innocent. Whatever. Then there is the notion that we vote Helen out BEFORE Randy. Who started this? According to T-bird, it was Lindsey's idea. If this is true, then Helen has no idea. She seems to think she is somewhat tight with Lindsey. Of course, it's very possible that it is actually T-bird's doing. Either way, this is not a situation I can afford. Randy will trust T-bird and Lindsey before he will trust Pam and me. That means, with Helen gone, T-bird has complete control of my fate. Yeah, I'm really going to let THAT happen. So the dynamic on my tribe is, quite frankly, stupid. You have Newman and Lindsey supposedly wanting to work with me and Pam. You have Ryan supposedly wanting to work with Helen, Newman, and Lindsey. You have Newman (and supposedly Lindsey) wanting to vote Helen out, while at the same time, Ryan is most likely trying to tell her to work WITH those very people, because he doesn't know of their preference to do so. Randy is a wildcard. Newman and Lindsey have suggested using him to vote out Helen and Helen has suggested using him to vote out Newman. Ugh. I might just be the only one that knows ALL of this. I hope so. Pam has pretty much told me she'll do whatever I want. |

So, what do you do if you find yourself at Tribal Council tomorrow night? And with limited time, would you be able to swing anything? |

As of right now, Randy would be voted out. Pam and I have both expressed very emphatically to Newman that we want to vote him out BEFORE Helen, because he is more of a wildcard, and because we'd feel bad voting Helen out before him. Newman is fine with that because he still thinks he has Pam and me under his control for now. In reality, I want him gone so Newman doesn't have complete control of the game. I want to have him under MY control. The way Newman thinks the next round will go down, is that we won't tell Ryan we are voting for Helen. That means Newman and Lindsey will vote for Helen and Ryan will vote for me or Pam. Me, Pam, and Helen can then blindside Newman!!! I hope things keep moving in that direction. I'm going to have to have a very dangerous talk with Helen soon. My problem is that Ryan still wants to work with her... just with people that want her gone. Helen probably still feels close to Ryan. But I'm going to have to let Helen know she is going to be yellow's target soon, in order for her to vote with us and somehow get her to not tell Ryan, who will spill his guts out to Newman. Trying to get Randy on our side to pull off a blindside now is just stupid. He'll very likely just tell Newman what is going on. So I've told Helen she should discuss it with Ryan first. I want Ryan to be the one to shut it down... not me. Obviously Ryan won't tolerate a blindside of Newman, so that could help me persuade Helen when the time is right. |

Dude, you REALLY overestimated me. I can't wait until you read my confessionals where I wax poetic about how happy I was to be on the tribe with you and to play together. Every time in every one of my confessionals I'd mention how I wanted to go with you until the end. It's semantics, but when I trust implicitly in someone (you) and say I have control over someone, that means YOU have control over them too. I know you don't see it that way, but just my perspective. And Ryan, to me, was a sure thing for US. |

It is a slight shame to know all I had to was call people to gain their trust. Just wasn't a tool I was willing to make. Kudos to those who really took advantage of it though. |

I wasn't going to call anyone until Helen called me. Pam actually suggested I call Helen to get her trust. I wasn't going to do it, but I finally bit the bullet and did. Unfortunately, again, having played in these sorts of open-ID games, I pretty much knew it would all resort to phone calls and texts at some point. They always do. I made it a rule not to call anyone unless they called me first though... other than Pam. I did call her first. I ended up having a lot of fun talking to them on the phone though. And I don't think I overestimated you. I think I just assumed everyone was coming in with the same mentality as me, but clearly I was wrong. |

Oh, not trying to discredit the use of calls at all. Hell, I wish I had been able to care to that point. Would have been smart. I DID come into this hoping it would be blank slate, but I also came into it really thinking we'd work well together and wanting to do that. For me, the mutual benefit was your a player we can continually bounce ideas off one another and that is someone I want in the trenches with me. I never made a move or thought of a move as a way of trying to get a leg up on you, but I can see how you might have interpreted it it that way. Yeah, doubt I will ever play in another open ID game or want to play. Steals away a lot of what I enjoy about these things. |

You'll enjoy my confessionals I actually made a comment thinking you might have blindsided me BEFORE Randy. I was real nervous for that vote. |

I mostly hate open-ID games. I only played in this one because it was All-Stars. I LOVE the closed-ID aspect. Besides the fact that some people can't separate the game from real life (which sucks for my style of play because I am always afraid someone will take something I do personally), there's also the fact that my style of play is all about stealth, and when people know who you are, that goes out the window. This game did force me to adapt and play a bit differently, and that did make it fun. I was far more defensive than I'm used to (I'm usually the one making the moves, not the one dodging them). All in all, I enjoyed this experience, but I'm looking forward to closed-ID again. |
