Well, that hurts a bit. I had set up the perfect dynamic. If we lose, Newman goes home in a 3-2-1 split. Ryan would be defenseless. Me, Pam, and Helen finally became a tight and effective threesome. The goal was to win so as not to show our hand. And we did. But instead of a merge, we just got mixed up again... and now I have no clue what to do. After being assigned the new tribe, Robb and Dwight immediately logged off, so I got nothing from them. Ibrehem and I talked a bit. He is hinting that we should vote off Ryan... and you know what? That might not be a bad idea. I'd like Ryan gone before the merge. Now, I can get to him without pissing off Newman and Lindsey. But with Ryan gone, can I survive down 3-2? How long will these tribes last? I have no clue. I can keep working Ibrehem, but I also want to get conversations going with Dwight and Robb. I have to feel this thing out, and Pam is good at doing the same, so we'll see what we can do. Meanwhile, Ryan is all about "working together" as "Old Kamdedo." Yeah, I'll play along until I play him right out of the game. Over on the other tribe, Helen is scared... but she could be very valuable. Newman has to figure he has her in his corner for a few reasons. 1. They have tribal ties. 2. He thinks she is still tight with Ryan, which is not even close to true. 3. He thinks she thinks they are in a four-way alliance, which is also not even close to true. The thing is, having him believe this stuff gives her some safety. Newman and Melissa are probably going to face off now. Jill has offered Helen the chance to vote Newman out WITH Melissa, herself, and Sawyer. That might be something Helen wants to look into... and I might push her in that direction because it would allow me to skip the part where I have to personally vote Newman out. The thing about open ID is that once someone is gone, they can still try to affect that game, and I don't want Newman targeting me from the sidelines. |

Do you think Newman/T-Bird had any idea of the intricate way he was being set up if y'all lost the *Deal or No Deal* challenge? |

No. I don't. A lot of funny things happened today. 1. Ryan started sending messages to me and Pam to frame us. His thought process was he'd say we should target T-bird, but then he'd wait to see if we'd forward his messages TO T-bird... which would prove we aren't loyal. To WHO? Him? Why would T-bird care? T-bird would WANT us to warn him of something like that. I don't know where Ryan's head is half the time, but T-bird and Lindsey both gave me and Pam the heads up that Ryan was doing it. So Ryan, who thought he was being sneaky and running the tribe, was having notes passed around about him between two groups that were actually about to go to war and he was just point blank unaware. 2. Ryan continued to foster the notion that Pam was the target and that Helen and him were working with T-bird and Lindsey. Now, this is the interesting part. Helen doesn't want to work with Ryan anymore, but Ryan still thinks he has Helen in his pocket. Newman has Ryan in his pocket, and so he is just assuming Ryan still has Helen. The only way Newman would have understood the situation he was in, would have been through Ryan, but since Helen stopped giving Ryan info, and since Ryan was too busy trying to "set people up," Ryan would never have been able to stumble upon that info to GIVE Newman. Now, I also think Newman is clueless because both him and Lindsey are still hardcore trying to work with me and set things up in our favor. For now, I'm working with them again for real... because the alliance just became symbiotic again. Newman isn't with Ryan anymore and no longer seems to care if I cut him loose (because he won't get any blood on HIS hands). We are going to start comparing notes again. On a side note, I just sent Robb a long message. Both Newman AND Melissa (who will soon be at war) have told me to work with him. |

Update: 2/11/12 11:15 pm So Ryan is set to be voted out. If we lose tomorrow night, the curse of the number 12 continues for poor Big Mike. Basically, it goes like this. Ibrehem hinted that Ryan's name was "coming up." I sent a message to Robb to feel him out. He was very blunt with me. The three of them are coming in as a solid voting block. They are willing to force a tie. Or they are willing to work with me, promising me safety for at least two votes. Normally, I'd say pound sand. But this time, I jumped right on the chance to just vote Ryan out. Why? Well, Ryan has been targeting me and Pam ALL GAME. Why would he force a tie, putting himself in jeopardy, when he could just vote us out and probably be safe until merge? Ryan thinks he can sway Ibrehem to vote off Robb or Dwight. But he can't. Ryan has nowhere near as much power or influence as he thinks. They (including Ibrehem) seem to want Ryan out. I will help them get what they want. Ryan is so confident that he can get Ibrehem's support, that he told Helen he's thinking of trying to throw the next challenge to blindside Dwight. Go ahead, Ryan. Throw the challenge, and you will see just why doing that is generally a bad idea when you get voted out. The main reason I refuse to force a tie in this situation is that Mike and Allie have a history involving ties that has to leave a bad taste in Mike's mouth. In Belize, there was a tie, involving Mike. Allie switched in the re-vote and Mike was sent packing. If we were forced with a tie situation, that would give Mike the perfect opportunity to get his revenge on her... and he's been targeting her all game as it is. So, I'm going to let Ryan think we are voting as a solid block of three, but Pam and I will be voting him out with Robb, Dwight, and Ibrehem. After that, Pam would go next most likely, as much as I hate to say it... but better her than me. I only hope we win some challenges. The other side is shaping up to be an epic battle between Newman and Melissa... and if either of them leave, that is good news for me. Helen seems fairly safe as of now. She'll be a vote for one of them... not a target. I have every reason to believe she'll make the merge. In the meantime, I have to start getting Dwight and Robb comfortable with me, in case I need them in the event that I lose Pam, God forbid. |

Update: 2/12/12 12:30 am HUGE NEWS. Ryan is toast. Djon has now told me that he wants to work with me and that he doesn't trust Dwight. He even offered to vote Dwight off first, but I said we can vote Ryan out first and then me, Djon, and Pam can vote Dwight. So Ryan goes, subtracting from Newman's power, and then Dwight goes... all the while me, Pam, and Djon are safe. Score! |

Message to Pam: 2/12/12 1:17 am "Djon has agreed to vote Mike out first followed by Dwight. He actually said he'd be ok voting Dwight out first, but I told him I'd be ok with Mike. That way he trusts us and nobody suspects he'll work with us. He is also tight with Lindsey. This keeps us both safe until the merge, guaranteed. I also think they are going to be successful and voting out Melissa. So, we'd most likely get to the merge with you, me, Helen, Newman, Lindsey, and Djon. That is six. We'll be in the majority if that happens. Then we can do whatever we want because NOBODY knows we are working with Helen. And Mike won't be there to target us. "

Update: 2/12/12, about two hours prior to challenge time... Things are CRAZY on the other tribe. Newman has been filling me in on a bunch of stuff that doesn't make me happy. He's been making plans that include me without running them by me. He wants to control everything. He's promised Sawyer a final four of the two of them plus whoever Sawyer wants and whoever he wants (he thinks Sawyer wants Jill and he says he wants me). That means he doesn't really want to work with Pam or Lindsey. It also means I have to agree to HIS terms for end game strategy. No thanks. He also wants to vote Helen out after Melissa. No thanks. So I've been on the phone will Helen for hours. She has Jill trying to get her to vote for Newman or even Lindsey. We've decided a Lindsey vote would be stupid, because it would leave Newman and Melissa both in the game. We'd like at least one of them out. I'm trying to push Helen toward a Newman vote NOW so that I won't have to have anything to do with it and so that nobody will know I'm working WITH Helen when we would otherwise have to vote him out together later. It looks like it is either going to be Melissa or Newman going, either way. I don't know where Sawyer stands. Newman thinks he won't vote against him. Jill seems to want to target Newman, or at least his alliance. And out of the blue Lindsey text Helen asking her to call her. It's something important. This coming after Jill tells Helen that Lindsey said she'd vote for Newman. How amazing would THAT be, if Lindsey stabs Newman in the back tonight!!! Over on my tribe? Ryan goes home. Nothing new to report there. |

Interesting when the most chaotic things you're dealing with a couple hours before tonight's challenge all involved what happens on the OTHER tribe.

Update: 2/12/12, about an hour before challenge time... From my tribe, it's just me and Ryan, and we are "agreeing" to vote for Dwight because we "think" Djon is probaby voting that way. Even though Djon already messaged me earlier to confirm it's going to be Ryan. Nobody else on my tribe is around. It's crickets around here. |

The thing with the F4 deal, and I told you this, was that it was just a sell to convince Jill (who was skeptical of me) and Sawyer (who called me out on my relationship with you) to vote with me that round. But I DID say in my message to you that WE didn't have to that route. I would have been fine with Pam and Lindsey or whomever, because at the end of the day, I was always playing with you. |

I think the difference between us going into this is that you played it a bit dfferently because it was open-ID. I played it as if everyone had a blank slate. I didn't come in wanting to work with anyone specific or against anyone specific. I didn't realize the extent to which others were planning to go that route. I treated everyone as if they were my opponents, just like I would have in a closed-ID game. Whereas I think you wanted to play with me because you knew who I was, knowing who people were never affected how I played. And that might be because I STARTED my online Survivor "career" playing open-ID games, and I learned the hard way how much things suck when you let out of game things affect in-game decisions. |

Hi Kate.. Good game. Definitly made things interesting for the Lurkers! Just curious, you said everyone had a blank slate, just wondering if that was true for Allie/Pam too.. you dont think previous games you played with her helped with your alliance?. I would find it very hard not to consider past game relationships at all anyway, great job. |

Past game relationships??? The Palau Seven alliance had already formed before the game even started. We would have had to continue to work together by default.

Work together by default? I wasn't in the Palau Seven and you targeted me I can't wait to read Lurker Lounge. I really would have loved for you, Adam, and Curt, Katie and Steve, to all be in the game. |
