Damnit, Sawyer!!

Well, Dwight was all ready to vote with us, but once again, he went back on his word at the last second to stay safe in the moment, and once again Sawyer was involved, and once again Jill, the cockroach, survives.

There's two ways to look at this.

1. Sawyer is just sticking with the hot tub. Aside from being boring, this is a losing strategy, because JILL WILL WIN IF SHE GETS TO THE END. She is the FIGUREHEAD of all their big moves. Has she really controlled the game? Probably not. But it COMES OFF that way. I also think it is kind of a cheap way to play Survivor... a pre-existing alliance assembled before the game even starts, comprised of all real life friends, who even when they start to turn on each other, can just use the guilt factor in their scrambling. I CAN'T USE THE GUILT FACTOR. I can't say, "Matt, remember the time we did this?" "You wouldn't vote ME out, would you?" I'm just Adam, that player that always goes around final four. LOL. Now, I DO think everyone is probably interested in taking Robb to the end, and for good reason (what the hell has he even done anyway???), BUT, he seems tighter with Jill than with Sawyer, as evidenced by his refusal to vote her out when approached BY Sawyer.

2. Sawyer realized that Helen was his worst nightmare and that final three probably would have ended up being me, her, and Dwight. In that case, and I'm hoping that IS the case, bravo. Good move. Now let's move forward and play for real. If I can get a final three of me, Sawyer, and Dwight, I think they'd both think about taking ME to the end, which is actually better for me than if Helen were still in the game. Everyone should realize by now that JILL NEEDS TO GO NEXT. PERIOD. If she doesn't, the writing is on the wall, and this has all just been a fun little practice game for the three amigos.

Of course, I WILL make final four. One day, I hope to get past that dreaded spot. If Big Mike has the curse of 12, I have the curse of 4. Funny little conversation I had with Seth on Facebook...

Seth: Congrats, dude. We're one step closer.

Me: Thanks. I'm two steps closer. :P

Sooooooooo.....

How hard will you be trying for the next immunity? And what would you do if you ended up with that along with your handy dandy hidden immunity idol?

I want to win immunity. I'm thinking about having fun with it if I do. Something along the lines of....

"I think I'll give immunity away tonight. Everyone other than Jill, pick a number between 1 and 10."

The bottom line is I only have hope in this game if Sawyer is playing strategically. If he is playing for loyalty, I'm a dead duck.... might as well have fun. If he is playing for real, it's in his best interest to eliminate Jill. He's telling Allie that he wants to take me to final two still, and that he only had to vote out Helen because he knew we were too tight. If so, like I said, bravo. Game on. If not, I've got a one way ticket to the jury house.

The frustrating thing is I FIGURED OUT what tonight's challenge was going to be. I straight up told Helen, almost word for word, that we would probably have to post pictures of something to burn, something to start the fire, and then fire. And Helen had already said she thought we'd have to post a picture of a torch. She had those four pictures ready all day. She just posted the wrong links.

Had she won immunity, either Jill would have gone, or t hey would have targeted me... though I don't think Sawyer would have wanted to do that, and I KNOW Dwight would have warned me anyway. I could have played the idol and me, Helen, and Dwight would have had final three in the bag.

Dwight warned us that Sawyer had flipped. He really was with us. He wanted me to give Helen the idol. But it was too late. She had already voted.

From Kate To Sawyer

Quote:

You are playing one of two ways.  You are either playing strategically, or you are playing for loyalty.  I'm just not sure which it is.

If you are playing for loyalty, I realize my days are numbered.  There is no point in stringing me along.  I will keep trying to win immunity.  I get a free pass this round and I likely get final four... again.

But if you are playing strategically, I know you know that Jill HAS to go next.  She has not controlled this game, but that's how it comes across.  When people think of the hot tub alliance, she is the figurehead, and if there's anything I've learned from juries past, they are all sitting around stewing over things and trying to think they have the game all figured out... so appearances matter... bigtime.

After that, I really don't know what you think is in your best interest, other than you need someone that will take you to the final two... and now that Helen is gone, I have NOBODY ELSE BUT YOU.  I know you say you want to take me to the final two, and if you mean it, great.  That's what my plans are.  I understand why Helen was a threat to you, because we were tight and she had a lot of  control.  You've taken that variable out.  Kudos.  Good move.

I just hope that's WHY you voted her out.  I appreciate that you warned me, and that you even reminded me I could save her with the idol.  You didn't have to do that, unless you were trying to keep my trust.  I take that as a good sign.  You don't need my  trust if you are sticking with the hot tub, because I have no power if that is the case.  I just ask that you don't try to get me to trust you just to screw me over, like Lindsey did.  Screw me if it is in your best interest in the game, but not just for the sake of screwing me.

The bottom line is I want to work with you.  I want to get past final four, because I never have before, and I think a final two of you and me would be a fitting way to end this thing.

And you know I've been honest with you for the past couple rounds.  I've given you every bit of information that has come my way... from Helen AND from Dwight.  Jill and Robb don't even talk to me.  I think I should have earned you trust by now.

I hope this doesn't come across as scrambling.  I'm just laying it down so you know where I stand.

P.S. - I realize Lindsey didn't screw me over just to screw me. In fact, I know she somehow thinks she "saved" me. But I don't need Sawyer to know that.

So I'm completely prepared to give Dwight my idol this round. You heard me right, I'm willing to give away my free ticket... mostly because everyone expects me to use it, so I'm off everyone's radar anyway.

Here's the deal. Sawyer is pissing me off. It's one of two things.

1. He is lying to me. I wouldn't be surprised. He's a sneaky SOB. He throws votes away to make himself seem innocent... even though looking the other way contributed to every vote out that took place when he did it. His hands are stained with blood... it's just invisible blood. He lured Pam in and used her before allowing her to get voted out. He clearly didn't want to work with her as he would have her believe, or else he wouldn't have allowed her to get voted out.

He voted out Helen, while pretending to vote with her to "make a move" against Jill. Funny thing is, he always seems to save Jill at the last minute... always. I'm not so sure he even has it in him to let Jill get the boot. He says he wants to take me to final two, and he says he thinks he'll lose when he does it. Then why would he do it? I don't buy it. He's using me for something.

2. He really will take me to final two, but everything has to be on HIS terms. He makes the decisions. He's the big boy in town. I just let him drag me to the end as his goat. But, as you know, I am no goat. Newman was scheduled to get voted out because he wanted to do something similar... but Matt is taking it to new level. Like Newman, telling me getting to the end game would be so easy because HE contolled Mike and Deb (obviously he was wrong about that), Matt is telling me he controls Jill, Dwight, and Robb. Well I don't want him in control. I want to be in control.

So, I will just lie to Sawyer and let him think I want his handouts. In reality, I might just have to take him down this round. It all depends.

He's already starting to seem to lean away from targeting Jill. He says he is afraid to keep Robb and Dwight together. Um... Robb was willing to vote Dwight out and vice versa. The second Sawyer suggested voting out Jill? Robb ratted him out. So I don't buy it. I also don't buy that he'd vote out Robb. I think Dwight will be his next target. And he really doesn't expect me to protest or have much say in the matter. Except I do. Because I have an idol. And my idol can become Dwight's idol very easily.

Now, if he says yes to targeting Robb, I would go along with that. The way I see it, everyone should want to take Robb to the end, because I don't think the guy can win. But I think I could beat any of these people anyway, so I could care less who I go against at the end. It's in my best interest to get rid of the person everyone else wants to take to the end, because that rises my stock. The way I am painting it to Sawyer is that Jill and Dwight both have ties to him. If we take him down, we isolate two players while also advancing... basically, it kills three birds with one stone. You'd have isolated Jill, isolated Dwight, and then me and Sawyer. This is the least likely scenario that the "other two" in the final four would make "a stand."

I really could care less about any of that. That's just my sell to Sawyer. If Sawyer goes along with it, Robb is gone. If not, I still think Dwight will be the target. So here's what I'm thinking.

If Sawyer says yes to the Robb plan, me and Dwight both vote Robb and I give Dwight the idol just in case. If Sawyer is lying, the idol saves Dwight and Robb is gone. Will Jill and Sawyer stick together at four with a potential tie situation? I doubt it.

If Sawyer says no to the Robb plan, I give Dwight the idol and we vote Sawyer. That would be fun. This is NOT his game, as far as I'm concerned. It's mine.

Obviously, I have to ask the obvious question.............if you give away the idol and you get sent to the Jury House, how bad will you regret letting it out of your hands
on the last round that it can be played?

In what ways this whole game has Dwight given you any indication that you could trust him with this big of an ordeal?

Granted, you could still win the F5 challenge and then have the freedom to do whatever you want with one immunity and keep the other for yourself.

But regardless, you are truly willing to give it away?

I'm not saying anything you don't already know. Everyone and their dog knows how long the other 4 people in the game have been together.

In what ways have they played towards each other that would make you think that they wouldn't just take YOU out for being a threat?

The short answer to your question is I'm not playing for 4th. I'm playing to win. If I play the idol tomorrow, I know I have at least 4th place. Sure. But do I think I have anything better? No, not really convinced of that. So do I make a play to try to make it further or do I just accept 4th place? You and I both know I am not good at challenges. That challenge I won the other night was the first challenge I've won since Belize. So, I get that "anything can happen," but let's be reasonable. It's a chance. To win, based on the situation I'm in, I would HAVE to take a chance. These people have not been together for the duration of the game. They've been together since before the game ever started.

Sawyer is a weasel. I just don't trust him, and if my big move of the game is just eliminating him and deflating his ego, that is a bigger win for me than playing it safe, getting 4th,
and letting him think he's so amazing.

The longer answer is I'm not going to Dwight with this plan. It's not like I'm going to give him time to think it over, maybe get other ideas. Dwight is at the bottom of the totem pole with them. Jill was targeting him. He was set to go. He was voting with me and Helen. We had final three plans. And he proved himself when he came running to us, warning us that Sawyer was voting her Helen and telling me to give her the idol. He did not want Helen gone. If Sawyer tells me the vote is for Dwight, and I give it to him at the last minute, telling him to play it to save himself, I'm sure he would do it.

Well, it's a calculated risk. You know the details of the idol. We'll see how it goes.

Sure makes for an interesting endgame :D

Update: 2/25/12 3:22 pm

So things have changed. Sawyer actually LIKES the idea of voting Robb out next. He's telling people he has my idol again so they won't vote for him. He's hoping they vote for me, thinking I don't really have it, at which point, none of their votes would count.

The idea here is that we'd both be safe and he's still claiming we are going to the final two. If I think he is really voting for Robb... or even for me, I will not give Dwight my idol. If I think he is lying to me, I MIGHT give Dwight my idol. The thing now is if people don't think I have it, I might get screwed. So I kind of need to keep it now.

I was thinking we could make matters even crazier by having Dwight tell people I gave it to HIM. What would Jill and Robb think then? What would Sawyer think? People wouldn't know WHAT to believe. The one thing everyone knows is the idol is out of play next round, so why risk voting for someone that might have it now, when you can just vote the safe way...

If asked, I might even say something along the lines of "I might have it, or I might have given it to either Sawyer or Dwight. Good luck guessing correctly." LOL. That could be fun. And I can do it safely, because I have it!!

The idol has been extremely powerful BECAUSE it hasn't been played. It's the fear of the idol that gives me control... not the idol itself.

As for Sawyer, as much as I hate being someone's goat, I will beat him regardless. Everyone on the jury is pretty much telling me I'm an automatic win if I get to the end of this thing. Sawyer, on the other hand, might not be able to beat ANYONE LEFT. He's pissed people off and they don't respect the way he's thrown his votes away and doesn't try on challenges. Plus, the previous winners don't want him to win for pride reasons, and Allie and Jenn will NOT vote for him in this game, either because he lied to them about working with me (lie to players, but it's suicide to lie to jury members), or because I'm in the finals, at which point they'll vote for me. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

The bottom line is I don't think he can win, and I'm starting to think he realizes that too. He's never been voted out before, and if he makes it to the end, he'll be the only player in this thing that can still claim that. This leads me to believe he is playing for second right now... not to win. And I think he'd get more credit if he goes up against me than if he goes up against a hot tubber.

So as much as I want to vote Sawyer out right now, I don't think it's in my best interest. It IS in my best interest, however, to make sure Dwight stays in this game. Dwight and Sawyer are the ONLY two left that would even CONSIDER taking me to the end. That means I want them in the final three.

By the way, don't get me wrong. I know Matt/Sawyer is a great player. I can see how he controls things. He is smooth. I just...

A. don't want him controlling me and...
B. don't think he can win given the circumstances.

We are both control players and control players don't like being put into a box, because they lose control. I feel like Sawyer is putting me into a box.

Update: 2/26/12 3?25 pm

Dwight has become very elusive since the last tribal council. It sucks because I really need to talk to him to figure out what I want to do tonight.

I will most likely be playing the idol myself. What worries me the most now is that Sawyer or Dwight are both vulnerable. Sawyer is saying he'll vote out Robb, but there's always the chance he'll vote out Dwight and then go with the "hot tub" to the end. That would irk my life, but it's possible.

Perhaps the BIGGER threat is that Dwight might vote with Jill and Robb to take Sawyer out. The reason this would suck so bad for me is that I don't think Dwight would force a tie to save me next round. He'd just take the automatic final three and vote me out. So I need Sawyer, unfortunately, to still be in the game after tonight.

My best bet is to take Robb out. I just need both Sawyer AND Dwight to also want that. If I win regular immunity tonight, I think I have to give it to Sawyer.

When Jill isn't working with you, she doesn't talk to you. Period. Funny how now I'm getting messages from her again. What does she want from me now?

So here's the deal. Dwight is voting with me tonight. He thinks final three is me, him, and Sawyer. I told him that if I win immunity tonight, I'll slip him the idol. And I meant it. Dwight is now the only person I trust for real in this game. So yeah, if I win the challenge, Dwight will be playing my idol tonight. If Dwight wins the challenge, I will be playing my idol tonight. If anyone else wins the challenge, I'll have a decision to make... though I'll most likely still be playing it myself.

On paper, we vote Robb out tonight, followed by Jill. BUT, I've now learned that Sawyer is double-dealing... or at least that Jill wants me to THINK he is. She sent me a message telling me that her and Sawyer are planning on voting out either Dwight or Robb tonight, depending on who wins immunity. They supposedly want to vote Dwight out if possible.

Sawyer is slick. He could easily have a final two deal with me AND a final two deal with Jill. If he thinks we'll both take him, he doesn't even have to try at the last immunity challenge, and then he's broken no promises. So he's probably telling Jill and Robb he'll vote for Dwight while telling me and Dwight he'll vote for Robb. Meanwhile, he's protecting both me and Jill.

Jokes on him, because I will probably NOT take him if I win the final challenge.

At any rate, there is also the possibility that Jill is just fishing for information. There's a rumor floating around, even among some of the jurors, that me and Sawyer have an F2 deal. So, it's possible Jill just doesn't want to tell me she wants to vote for Sawyer. I'm just giving her non-answers.

I just hope me or Dwight win this immunity challenge tonight. Then, things work in our favor. Sawyer will not force a tie at final four when he has final three in the bag. If me and Dwight are voting for Jill at that point, so will he.
