Strangely enough, my speech is going to be directed at Lindsey tonight. Lindsey, you played an amazing early game. You positioned yourself better than practically everyone. You were on the fence and had more options than anybody. Unfortunately, you used that advantage to do all the wrong things... to pretty much self-destruct in a single round. Voting Ibrehem out completely closed the lid on your own coffin. Up until that point, you had guaranteed final five. Nothing Sawyer could do or say could have protected Jill if you had just kept your own paranoia out of your decision-making process. Now why do I bring this up now? Well, Jill is sitting in the final two... not because of Sawyer, not because of herself, not because of the "hot tub" or the Palau Seven. Jill is sitting in the final two right now because you made a move to "save me..." a move that really killed me in this game... along with Ibe, Pam, Helen, and yourself. I'm writing this to you now because it is really YOU that determined the outcome of this game. YOU were the driving force. ... On second though, I probably should address the finalists. Jill, it's not that you played a bad game, it's just that I don't think you did much. Your big move seems to have been the Jack vote out. The only thing is, there were already going to be five votes for Jack that night regardless. You just made our goal a lot easier and claimed the move as your own. Of course, the five original Jack votes were also supposed to be the five Jill votes the very next tribal council, so your big move actually should have been your undoing. But you were saved when Lindsey couldn't discipline her tactical game in accordance with a long-term strategy. You got played by Helen more than you might even realize still. You were scheduled to be voted out at final four, but you got two big immunity wins in a row, and you ultimately made your REAL biggest move to vote Sawyer out, thus, cementing an actual chance at winning this game. So, I love how you ended this thing. The question is, should that be enough to get my vote? Dwight, you held your cards pretty close to your chest. You are pretty much the only member of the "hot tub" alliance that I never got a real read on. You played me. I gave you immunity, fully intended to bring you to the final two, and listened to your lies about forcing a tie against Sawyer at final four, right as you were sticking the knife in my back. I LOVE IT!! You had just as many deals as Sawyer did. A LOT of people trusted you to no avail... 1. Robb 2. Helen 3. Me 4. Jack But you were really working with Sawyer. You pulled the wool over people's eyes. You got me. And for that reason, you most likely also got my vote tonight. Kudos. |

Just let me know for sure which one I'm posting. I'm assuming this latest one is the final draft. |

As of now, the last one is the final draft. I might change it a bit more at some point today, but if not, the last one is the one. I wanted to do something different with it. I wasn't happy with the outcome of this game. I think this is a boring final two, though I'm fine with Dwight being there, and I do want to see him win. I think he probably played a better game than people realize. At the same time, the fact that the "hot tub" got there, after everything that happened, is a let down. I know a lot of jurors are going to be hard on Dwight and Jill. I decided to show my frustration by addressing someone not even sitting there. LOL. I also want to use my platform to kind of show Lindsey that 1. I DO think she messed up, no matter how many times she defends her move... but also... 2. I give her credit for playing a good game UNTIL she screwed us all up and gave the "hot tub" a free pass. I think Sawyer played an outstanding game as well, and Jill's decision to vote him out was a good one, but too little too late in my eyes. So the messages I hope to get across are... 1. The "hot tub" never had as much control as they thought. 2. Lindsey was the one that really held the fate of the game in her hands, not Sawyer (even though he played an amazing game). 3. I don't think Jill really did anything to deserve to win. And... 4. Dwight played a better game than people think. Anyway, that's the rationale behind my speech. |

There is an entry I made in my Confessional that is basically the pinnacle entry of the whole game. And it lays out exactly how Lindsey's decision was a tactical error and how (you're exactly right) that move basically determined the endgame. And I tried as hard as I could to write it from Lindsey's POV so I could show step by step how detrimental that decision was. I will go ahead and link to *THAT PARTICULAR ENTRY HERE*...........but it obviously won't be readable until the game wraps. For now, it will just link to an Error Message. After the game concludes, the link will work correctly once I've adjusted all permissions. |
