Nope. It's a scorching-free house, but I did used to have an obsession with dragons when I was younger. That's where I got the username! I started drawing when I was in Primary 4 (around 8-9 years old) and I started drawing as a serious hobby at the start of 2012. |

The only progessive rock I've really listened to is the more recent ones; the likes of Ayreon and such. I might check them out though. 3. is Gleeman Vox, 2. is Skid McMarx and 1. is Dr. Nefarious. Too bad the first two are dead and missing in action. It's a toss-up between Captain N since that was the first annotated series I watched, and Sonic Underground since I found the annotations particularly funny in that series. |

I've never really had any experience outside of the country. (I went to Scotland when I was little but I don't remember a thing from it.) Our main holiday spot in the Summer is at Portrush at the north of Northern Ireland. Amusements, restaurants and babby's first gambling addiction aside, it would actually be nice if it would stop raining all of the time. At least I get to see the Giant's Causeway! |

AOPM would probably be Barney; he's very much a party man and he has a hidden talent for film making. You'd be Principal Skinner; the principal may as well be the Fuehrer of the school. |

It's a slightly long story: The main villain in a failed TV pilot called The Groovenians was this green money-obsessed robot. I had him as an avatar for a while. Then there were some threads Poke and Vonny made where we make our own graphics for collaborations. (Poke's was for a game and Vonny was for a fighter character roster). For the former thread I made pretty much a genderbent version of the robot. Things changed, I got better at art and now the character's resembles something I'm quite proud of. It's also a personal play on words: I'm interested in PS2-era shovelware; I'm represented by a shovel. Thanks for asking. Edited by Scorch XIV, Mon Apr 11, 2016 3:40 pm.

At first I was quite into a lot of anime, particularly the magical girl genre. I dropped that phase pretty quick since the wacky proportions weren't getting me anywhere. I then turned to mythical creature sketches and then eventually (and currently) to original creature designs. I don't really draw from influences in terms of art style, but in terms of colour theory instead. Especially colours from the sky. I go more for realism and expression, saving anatomy and other colour references into a separate file for when I eventually need them. |

Definitely the Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion in particular. The problem is I'm not able to get a copy and the series isn't really designed to watch other people play them. Also most of the Pokemon games. I've only played 4th gen and Mystery Dungeon. I tried pretty hard to get into the Ranger spin-offs but Shadows of Almia didn't really do it for me back then. Maybe I'll pick it up and see if I enjoy it more now. |

Got two more: Since you're into PS2 shovelware, what are your favorite shovelware game companies? Do you typically gravitate towards more well-known stuff like Data Design Interactive and Pheonix Games or are there obscure companies you're interested with? Have you ever thought of making a comic or graphic novel? |

Since you mentioned you like PS2 Shovelware (and as a followup to Bill's question), which would you say is the best of that lot, and which is the worst? ALso, are there any other consoles out there that have any shovelware that interest you (Like the NES, Wii, 360 or PS3)? |

They're classified as games made with very low budgets and short deadlines deliberately designed to cash in on a fad to make a quick buck. The name comes from the phrase, 'To shovel out the door'. They're usually movie/TV-licensed games. There are tons of shovelware in the PS2/Wii/DS libraries due to their gimmicks and being easy to get the licenses for game development. Nowadays most shovelware is found on Steam and mobile app stores.
In Europe and particularly the UK, we did get a lot of shovelware companies because the video game industry isn't as developed over here. My personal favourite companies are Midas Interactive (known for gems such as The Sniper 2 and Realm Of The Dead) and on a more personal note, Blast! Entertainment. Tennings deals with a lot of that company's tripe. It's likely! I have a couple of ideas knocking around in my head, one to do with that shovel character and another that's been a personal thought of mine for years. Maybe I'd make a couple of comics based on this channel and forum.
I rate the 'quality' of shovelware by its levels of ridiculousness and 'Oh my god, these people have no shame, do they?' One good example is Phoenix Games' London Cab Challenge. That goddamn draw distance. And of course, all the cartoons made by Dingo Pictures. Probably the worst example of shovelware for me personally is a Chronicles of Narnia game made by a company called BVG: A company so lacking that even Disney Interactive had to drop them. Not only was the game bad, it was also boring as sin. Eight-year-old me was a gullible little snot. I know Vinesauce and other reviewers cover a lot of the Nintendo shovelware. Honestly after some time, all of the casual party games for the Wii sort of combine into a generic mush. However I do remember having a game for the DS called Duck Amuck, based off that Daffy Duck classic. I actually remember it being decent as a kid, but then again, I was a kid. Definitely Dinosaur Adventure. Not only was it absurd but it had a genuinely likeable character. That's like a once-in-a-lifetime fluke for Dingy Pics. |
