When we annotated Foodfight a while back, we learned of the horrible excuse of a company named Threshold, and continued to mock them even after the movie was annotated. Their other works look pretty good in terms of animation quality, but now they have to learn one more important thing: HOW TO DO A PLOT.

Turns out Threshold has done more than just movies, they do 3D movies as well. I watched their Marvel 4D showreel and praised it for the solid animation, and from what it sounds like, the plot is well-written. Now of course, you can't expect the same ingenious writing in Hershey's.

Sadly, I haven't found any full footage of the show online, but here's the overall premise: an instructor from a private school is going to talk to us about the founder of Hershey in an over 2-hour long lecture, but then this... guy.... convinces the (live) instructor that shows need lots of singing, dancing, and overall comedy to make it enjoyable. Hmm.... what does that remind me of?...

After that meaningful introduction, the rest is utter craziness. From that point on, it's basically a series of weird vignettes that have Hershey's candy products parodying famous movies, like Indiana Jones, and Casablanca. Only after 15 minutes of this does the guy learn that shows can be interspersed with facts as well. Then, it doesn't happen.

If it doesn't sound bad enough to you, watch the clip they have on the website: http://www.thresholdanimationstudios.com/v...php?id=hershey1

Sorry there's no full video, maybe after a live action Mario we can put the song as the credits music... Very sorry indeed....

I actually found out that Threshold's work on that Marvel 4D project (as well as their work on various Lego projects, including "Clutch Powers") was actually outsourced to a company that knows how to do CGI, specifically these guys.

But what I've seen of this bit (i.e. the clip you linked to) proves that they should outsource their work more often.
