Chris-Chan barely showed himself playing any game, other than that one Animal Crossing thing. Pretty sure his asshole behavior stemmed from him being a shit who uses autism as a golden ticket.

I can't give a shit about B^Uckley these days. Not 'I don't', but I'm literally unable to give a shit about him. Le may mays and Game Grumps on the other hand? Sure.

Other gamers. But where I may ask, is the option titled "Yourself"?

Because surely you would've ruined your own experience at some point in your life. I know that's what happened to me.

Developers buying high-scoring reviews ruined gaming for me.

That and whiny bickering manchildren on every gaming forum ever.

No-one.

Honestly, gaming is better for the most part then it ever was. Before someone brings up Call of Duty ripoffs, Remeber when every shit tie-in cashin was a Platformer? When there was about 250,000 god damn fighters after MK and SF2? When every shit JRPG was brought over when FF7 broke through in North America?

Not exactly *Who* nor *Ruined*, but game franchises that started out on the PC and whose sequels become gradually more "dumbed down"
(you know what I mean) to accommodate the console market - and are primarily designed to be controlled by a gamepad - is a pet peeve of mine.

I still like gaming. On the flip side, Nier and Demon's Souls REVITALIZED gaming for me when I thought I had no franchise that would ever give me as much as fun as I had as a kid playing Super Nintendo. Up until those two games I thought everything was kind of duller than it was before, but Nier is like a retro RPG for the now generation story-wise, and Demon's Souls really brought back that old fun and exploration that I hadnt felt in so long.

The worst things "ruining gaming" for me would probably be PewdiePie and other like-minded LPers. They suck all the fun out of horror games with their shitty attitudes and retarded quips, and make up their own maymays that are so unfunny it makes normal maymays seem appealing. Why do they have scarecams when they arent playing horror games? Upsetting.

It's psychological. Kids have an easier time "connecting with" Let's Players whose faces are visible on the screen. It's somewhat unsettling.

Honestly, I'd probably say the publishers who try to nickel and dime their player-base are responsible.

I'd love to place the blame squarely on Activision, but then EA, Capcom, Ubisoft, and others started following suit, and in some ways usurping them. Day one DLC that's on disc, online passes, all bonus content is now bought instead of unlocked, unnecessary micro-transactions, and shitty plastic statues unlocking on disc content all hurt games to me. Designs becoming more about scripted spectacle instead of self-made experiences, overly linear design, meme-riddled writing, and fewer and fewer secrets are also a bummer, especially when games are getting shorter and shorter but are getting more and more costly.

It just seems that PC is the place to go for game design that is unique and accessible. Maybe I'm a Valve drone, but I think TF2 is probably the best way to handle games in this day and age. They add content that modifies the game but doesn't throw the balance too far off. Hats don't do shit any more and the weapons are side grade that add new layers to the strategy, all while rewarding contributing community members with actual reimbursement. There's also Overgrowth, where the game is being developed but you get to play the most recent alpha and help shape the final product. That and Chivalry also do a great job of being open with their players with regular updates on game changes and progress. Smartphones also look like a great platform for games, especially with the pricing and ease of access, but the games more often than not suffer from the same game breaking micro-transactions that plague other mainstream games.

Maybe I'm too edgy, but I just think that large developers that want to make Call Of Duty numbers instead of sustainable numbers are the biggest problem for me.

That said, IGN and other pussy gaming sites that only give good score to the biggest money shovers, ironically putting money into marketing the game as good rather than making it good.

Eh, /v/ is pretty stupid but I would be hard pressed to believe it actually ruins gaming for people, unless you try to...fit in on there? Which would be stupid because the only way to fit in is to actually hate video games. At least /v/ has no tangible effect on the industry, it's just a bunch of faggets getting mad.

Sometimes it just take a little naivete. Not knowing that board's true nature can make it easy for someone to think that it's a better place to discuss games than the other, 12-year-old-filled gaming communities. It was how I got into it about 3 or 4 years ago, and I can safely say those 3 or 4 years were the worst in my life so far. That place can make the happiest, most innocent person into a jaded asshole who thrives on hatred. I can't thank myself enough for jumping ship when I did.

Anyhow, I'd still say IGN and other paid review sites are the worst offender. Back in the day reviews were a good way to know if a game was shit or not, or have an idea of its problems before playing. Now you have to for the most part jump in blind because you can never be sure if it's a person or a wad of bills that's writing the review. I've had my share of buying games I didn't like because all the reviewers did was give the companies who made them wet, slippery blowjobs instead of actually reviewing the game.
