Yes, now you know why CAD, LICD and Sonichu are so awful and more! |

I've heard of this place before, and I will admit that it's a decent read. But I have a slightly different opinion on some of those comics (Like how Sonichu is entertaining in a bizarre, stupid kind of way). |

yeah, it's decent for the occasional read. it's crazy learning about the kinds of stuff the many bad webcomics try to pull off. one of the most interesting is the bitter sweet candy bowl one because you'd never be able to judge from a simple glance how messed up the author is |

You could say that for a lot of internet personalities/"celebrities" really. But when it comes down to it, there's three factors that make these webcomics as bad as they are: 1. The fact that they update regularly (mostly 3-5 times a week) with few, if any, breaks in the schedule. 2. Related to the above, but with the lack of breaks, the "artist" in question doesn't really get a chance to improve upon what needs to be worked on (like doing sketches or taking art classes if his/her drawings suck or taking time to write good jokes and whatnot). 3. The artist him/herself often comes off as a condescending prick when someone tells him/her something's not right with the comic in question. That being said, Sturgeon's Law definitely applies to the concept of webcomics (though instead of 90% crap, 10% good, it's more like 95-97% crap and 5-3% good). Also, I noticed someone on the site had the exact same name as our resident Mr. Y. Same guy or just coincidence? |
