After the initial shock wore off, we realized that this in fact was JIM'S STOLEN CAR! It slowly pulled into the fairgrounds to the delight of all those who had been following this terrible story....   All eyes were soon on this Flaming Blue (jail) Bird...  Then the story took an even more bizarre twist. As the trailer manuvered in front of the Speed Shop garage doors, micrphones were set up, local dignitaries began to arrive and the crowd began filtering towards the shop. What gives?  Before long, the Major of Mizpah was taking credit for cracking a major car theft ring and almost single-handedly retrieving the car stolen by a band of Franklinville hoodlums from an honored, out-of-state guest from Utah .  After a well-placed phone call from some the Mayor's "associates" (who owed me a personal favor and who wanted the car to be found "very quickly") Jim become the Mayor's new best friend and poster boy for local law enforcement.  All our "Honored Guest" could do was scratch his head, listen to the endless speeches and wonder how his personal nightmare could have ever ended with him becoming a local hero.  Now maybe he can do what he wanted to do in the FIRST place: Cruise the fairgounds and look at Kool Cars!!! (which is what we're going to do next) |
