Thanks, Chuck:

It looks like Grandt Line & Servo-link use the same source for chain.
Their sizes (and catalog cuts) are identical.

I painted the chain last night to see what it looked like in primer and it does
indeed look somewhat more in scale in a lighter color. It should work out okay.

Sprocket chain is always a pain in 1/87 but I would think someone had a really good one in the 1/25 scale.

By the way, many young fellows fell in love with Goldie Hawn to that old saying. And she still looks pretty good.

Some progress:

The four legs are done and I started on the grear drive. The rest of the Grandt Line
gears & chains are on order.

While waiting for the Grandt Line order, I decided to do a grill shell.
That's posted as a little Mini How-To in another thread......

Well, Pop-Pop Ken survived the Zoo (barely)a few more hours before it's time to take them home. How do parents do it????

Oh the drama....

Isn't Pop-Pop Ken what the ground hogs called you, Hamilton? When they see you out there on the garden with your .22? LOL!!!

"Pop-Pop" is what they HEAR when they stick their little furry heads out.

.....then again, they say you never hear the one that gets you. Posted Image Posted Image

LOL! Yeah, for all you know you have a giant, alien-like groundhog living rent free under your soil!!! :D

If I had a dollar for every time you've inspired a nature poem in me, Hamilton, I'd be rich by now!!!

More minor progress. Finished up the hydraulic cylinders.
Did a firewall, but that was after these were taken.
Added some more rivets, too.

Still waiting for the rest of the gears and chain from Grandt Line.

Still lots to do.

Holy Toledo, Hamilton, that looks great! The rivets and the chain, not to mention the wheels too, make it look super detailed!

That looks really great. Wonder what the 1/4 mile time would be??

Even before seeing Dave 1/4 mile crack, I was gonna say it would look good "backed in" , a powerslide on a dirt flat track!

Seriously, Ken what a neat little piece of equipment. I've seen kits for these in HO scale (EXPENSIVE!) but this is the first I've ever seen one modeled in 1/25.

Remember that this is the larger version of one Hamilton built earlier out of an O scale kit. There are pictures of that one in his Fotki archive, if anyone is interested.

My Dad ran a lumber carrier (Hyster) during the war and I used to walk to the mill and visit often.
You have hit this one dead on. Thanks for the memories Ken.

Thanks, Mike.
That's the kind of comment that makes model buidling worthwhile.

Virg, here's that 1/48th-scale Box-stock kit that basically provided
the plans for the 1/25th-scale version:
