RATA VERDE ; 29 FORD PICKUP RATROD

OK, i think i found a new project.. You guys remember the local ratrod i took pics of? I`m gonna do one based on it, im not gonna try to duplicate the real one.....chipped green paint, and the fenders will be chipped and rusted black....flathead ford, all the hot rod goodies...

i wanted it to be chipped up alot....i think i got it! LOL......the fenders will be black, but mostly surface rust.....im gonna get the cab complete before i start on the fenders and frame.........just in case it doesnt hold my interest, i think it will tho...

ok, ive made some more progress, im on a roll tonight!

i got the dash painted, and added this cap made from watch parts to the cowl panel...

the fenders HAD to be beat up, and dented a bit!..........so i got out the lighter, and made some dents pushin the plastic in with various other car parts so they would have a recognizable shape to the dent...(sorta)

now the fenders will get some salt, and liquid masker and then will be sanded when they dry to give it that sun faded look....the fender pics look a little blurry.....sorry guys!

does anyone have a 37 ford grille in their parts boxes??? i really need one for this project, I have one but i cant take it from the kit, i could make a mold, but i dont think it would look as nice.......

lemme know guys, ill trade something for it!

this thing is really moving along this evening!

i got the dash detailed and installed.......im gonna add some wood to the inside of the cab where its supposed to be.....around the roof, and at the back of the doors. plus im gonna put the roof bows in....

this is something different for me...........its going to have fenders! i dont have one ratrod/streetrod/hotrod in my collection that has fenders!

im also gonna cut the bedfloor out, and replace it with some rotten wood..the plastic just doesnt look good, and wood will be alot nicer!

nah, its already RATA VERDE...........rat stew would be a cool name for one tho! maybe a brown colored ratrod, like the color of stew......

remember the blue 32 ford pickup rat rod i did a while back? it was called "rattus ceruleous" or blue rat.........

i dont know if i spelled that right...........but you get the idea.

and heres what i have done so far, it looks funny cause its white! once i get it all together ill thin it out a bit very lightly with the dremel...

all i have to do is add a couple braces, and some bolts on the ends that hold it to the body...

i got the center braces on it now, i just have to sand everything a little bit, and then rust it all!

cross braces added to the visor........now its onto the wood for the interior! once i get the wood across the top it will even out those braces....

i added the wood to the body shell, and capped off the front of the roof with a piece of angle, now its time to rust all that raw white plastic!!
