I've had these kits for a while and thought I'd build them. They're simple to build and the parts are all really crisp and fit good. The painting part is a little tedious. I'm thinking about building the first four nice and the last one in bad shape being restored.

I've got two of the five and they're super-neat little kits.
All they need is nice paint to really stand out.
I like the idea of one needing restoration........

DaveInTheHat,

What company makes the house model kits. Do you have a website for them?
Thanks, larry_cars

The kits are made by IHC and they're 1:87 (HO) scale. I've seen them on ebay a lot, but not all 5 together. There are 5 different ones that are old time looking shops, too. I got the ones that I have at a train show for a super cheap price. I think they're fairly easy to find.

So much of that IHC stuff is so cheesy but these look exceptionally nice. Thanks Dave, will be on the lookout for them.

Great find Dave! Heres an idea, Paint some of them nice and new, one of them with a guy on a ladder painting and someone else making repairs, and the rest of the houses run down looking so it will look like the Davetown historical society is hard at work. ^o)

John, the back of the houses are pretty plain. They only have a door and a couple of windows. I'll post a picture of them soon. After I get them done I'm probably going to add something different to the back of each house. Maybe something like a deck, patio or a small porch. I'll see how they look once they're finished.

It's a shame when old towns are aloud to decay. Here in my home town of San Pedro, CA. witch is part of the city of Los Angeles, we are seeing the samething. Along the water front is being redeveloped because the property belongs to the Harbor Dept. but go inland everything looks run down.

This is the facade that I am working with from Chicago around 1910.The windows are quite thin and tall.

Four down, one more to go. The last one is going to be weathered and screwed up looking.

Wow.....They look great, Dave. Love the colors.
Doing the last one as a rundown Project House offers a terrific contrast.
Even with your hospital stay, you never missed a beat on this project!
Great job.

You should be finished in tumor days or so.
