Hey guys and Gals, My name is Abe Dooley and I am a die hard MOPAR fanatic. I just don't own any MOPARS right now... I mainly build Offroad and Ol' School muscle. I have been building models since I was about 9. I took a break about 10 yrs. ago and got back into it about a year ago. I got laid-off and figured I'd pick up buildin again. I used to be, uhhhh, I guess the word I'm lookin for is Blind, to the crazy thinngs I've seen guys do to models. I am crazy about customizing ANYTHING, but yet, when it came to models, for some reason or another, it just never clicked. Well, when I bought the first kit in 10 years or more I figured surely someone, somewhere makes custom wheels for models. Boy did I feel stupid. The first site I landed on was MCM and the first model I looked at was a Dale Earnhardt SUPER DETAILED model. Talk about your eye opener! I must have sat there for 3 hours with my jaw hanging off my face trying to figure out if it was real and HOW THE HELL DID HE DO THAT!!! I haven't went one day since without working on my current projects. I was intimidated at first, but once I started fabricating my own stuff I knew I was in love. I have always been kinda O.C.D. when it comes to anything related to fabrication or when I've been working on my 1:1's which has spilled all over my model building. I have got to be thee slowest builder. I am still intimidated with airbrushing. The first time I used the airbrush the paint was drying before it hit the model and made it look like I mixed dust bunnies in with the paint. I still haven't started over on that paint job. And that was nearly 6 months ago. I hope to get to know everyone here and I look forward to seeing everyones builds. ABE DOOLEY |
