Some cities don't have the tolerance for it, then again, some cities are so far gone any art is welcomed. :-/

I spent most of the day today hunting some of it down and had a blast, although it was pretty hellishly hot out there . . .

Here are a few more pieces . . .

I'd like to do a book of these one day, although it's quickly become not an original idea . . . :D

Just to give you an idea of how rotten real estate is here: the apartment on the above picture to the left is brand new and it has been empty for a few months. Nobody is moving hin!

I'm really torn on the Griffiti issue.
On one hand there are some really well done, artistic pieces out there....but on the other hand
I can't quite get around the fact that it's vandalism.

(These ARE some really colorful examples, though, and they ARE nice to look at)

Thanks for posting, V.

Thanks, buddy. I understand the issue for a lot of people. I have to say that this kind of grafitti has evolved closer to mular painting than anything else. I can't stand the tagging that goes on between rival gangs on a wall.

In this part of Miami, since so many buildings are abandoned, they have a program for painting murals on walls . . .

I LOVE grafitti art! It's slim pickin's up here, but when a train rolls by, I could sit for hours admiring some of the graffiti.

Gotta agree with Ken, also the tagging is bad news.

Even here in Fargo, nothing is safe.

Great shots Cranky, thanks for sharing. Street Art and graffiti. or tagging, are two different things. The street art thats in Crankys pictures took time to create. I'm sure the artist had to stand on a ladder to paint. Tagging is done quickly so as to not get caught. Here in my town we have a bad problem with taggers. Every day on my way to work I see fresh graffiti from the night before. everything gets taged, windows, sidewalks, trees, walls, signs, Etc. The other day I caught some kid tagging the sidewalk right in front of my apartment. I yelled at him and He ran like a puppy with his tail between his legs. :-/

I will agree that "tagging" isn't appreciated. What I do love are the big murals/pictures whatever that require talent to create. It's not like they can erase it and redo it on the fly either.
