Bryan, do you still have the package of beads that I sent Ken for the Kruise goodie bags. They were those little plastic colored ones. I used those for coffee cups on the Scooter's Place dio I was doing. Just use a paper puch to punch out a disc for the bottom, and paint them white or hatever color you need. Also you can drill two small holes in the side, add a small loop of wire, and you got a coffee mug. |

That's what I use for my coffee mugs Merc as seen in the middle of this workbench. You don't even need to make a bottom if you glue it to something, and a piece of sprue to "fill" the mug to the desdired level and paint the inside coffee brown. I used a piece of wire or styrene for the handle. Just drill 2 holes in the side of the cup.

Thanks Wayne. I used to sell these on Ebay a few years back. They went between $60-80 each. I tried selling this one a few months back but with the economy, I got no bids at $50. |

Too much Mtn Dew rotted you brain......... I'll send you some more in a day or two. I have to locate them again. Or if your in a craft toy store, they are just small plastic beads that were used to make designs . they come with a form you put the beads on, and then placed a hot iron over them to melt them together. They are about 1/8 in. in dia. and maybe 3.16' high. They come on colors. You can buy a bucket full for around $5.00. |

OK here's one more shot at making cups. Start with a styrene tube or rod the correct diameter of the top of the cup. Drill down the center with a tapered drill (used in woodworking) to the right wall thickness at the lip. Or use a tapered round file to do the same. Chuck the rod in a drill if you don't have a lathe and then file down the outside of the cup so it's tapered and cut it off to the right size. |
