Since completing the '50 Chevy rust truck little over a month ago, I've been working on an article for the IPMS Journal. After I posted it on the IPMS forum, I was approached by the editor and art director of the Journal to write a 3-4000 word article with pictures. I've since been working on writing the article, and had to buy a new kit and redo the steps for the tutorial since I didn't keep my original in-progress shots. headbash  Why keep hard copies of in-progress work??? So I deleted them (If I'd known then what I knew afterwards...) headbash  :-/ But that also allowed me to take much better pictures of the process used on the truck for the tutorial. :D It's all done now, and submitted. The article should be out somewhere January=March of next year.

I'm really happy, as it's been a goal of mine to get published, but not without approaching someone first for it. But rather on the recoginition of a build or technique. I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but it's something I've very much been wanting to do since returning to the hobby. :)

You SHOULD toot your own horn, Mike. That's quite an achievement....made even
better by the fact they they approached YOU.

And let this be a lesson - NEVER delete in-progress photos..... :X

Nice going, Mike. My day job is writing, and I can appreciate how good it feels to be in your shoes. Enjoy it. Terrific truck, too.

Way to go! That's got to feel good.

About 3 days ago I emptied a ton of old pics off the hard drive. Gulp. Oh well the computer is about 4 pounds lighter now, almost floats.

Great Mike! Welcome to the world of the underpaid and over worked. Getting an article out is a lot of work for me but seeing one's work on glossy pages is very rewarding. I look forward to seeing your "rebuild".
