Folks, does anyone know which kits have the best surfing decals and or bring decent looking surfboards?

I will probably make my own surfing boards . . . but you never know . . .

Thanks for the help.

Hi Virg

The Monogram Garbage packer kit has 4 surf boards and some SCUBA tanks . There are even a set of swim fins , but you have to carve them off the truck body. The three figures in the kit are only about 1/32 scale or smaller though. The decals are not that great.

Thanks
Carl

Virgil check out Mambo surfboards from Australia. They have very very cool graphics, and you could probably make your own decals from the artwork

Oh wow.!! Those boards are just beautiful.!!!

Virgil. You should do one of your great paint jobs on a surf board.

I was going to build a surf rat car for the Christmas Contest,
now I wish I had using one of these surf boards......

Holy smokes, those are beautiful. I know there's a surf board book out there with great examples.

I think I just need to bite the bullet and spend a weekend making a dozen or so surf boards and then go paint crazy on them!!!

Different styles.

Is the standard size of a surfboard 5 scale inches or so? Or six? 5.5"?

Right, for some reason I think they are about 10 feet tall in real life.

Virg, you can probably download some pics of surfboard art and print in out to
your desired size in MS Word. Glue it on a board, gloss it and you're good-to-go.

Depends on if you want a long board or not. Do a Google search for surf board builders, and you'll get dimensions.

Cranky, The Johan Rambler Wagon re-issue has a couple of surf boards in it with decent decals.

Virgil when you are making them, do your research as the shape of a surfboard is very subtle, with some interesting compound curves (the most pronounced is the front curve), and a wooden centre line. You don't want to look like you have a charicature of a surfboard on the roof of the car. It is the first thing people will see.

Here's a couple boards for a pretty fair price. Beats spending a weekend making them.
