the bad part about this stuff is, its all pretty much in eyeshot from my house. you know when everyone says "cant see it from my house" well i can. just the tops of the buildings tho, not like all that overgrowth and junk is starin at me everday, if it was i would be complaining about it ...i dont know who to, but i would be.

That Ford truck engine is a work of art, and nature did it. It's nature's best work . . . that's for sure . . . and now you took a great picture so we could all enjoy it . . . very cool.

you know i was just lookin at the pics of the engine bay of the crane..... that looks like a 50's style 6 cylinder chevy, i say that because of the valve cover, its the same as the one in the 51 chevy pickup kit. am i right? im lookin at the cover from the kit right now, looks the same to me. Bryan M :D

That's definitely a GM motor (..even got a little "GM" stamped on the
side of the block). Could be from a GMC, though. Hard to tell the difference
without more detail (for me, anyway)

Cool pictures, It's a shame the place is just abandoned like that. It would be a great property to rehab and use it for something, maybe a good start for an antique store or junkyard. I always wanted to find a big old industrial building like that and convert it into a house. Not many people, including my wife, would see tha aesthetic beauty of a place like that though. Only the guys on this forum!

Later.

Yowza Bryan, great pics! I love the old faded lettering on the brickwork too. Oh and Wayne, my wife would love to have a big old factory building turned into a house. Then I could spend the rest of my life making furniture to fill it (or not!)
We actually looked at an old abandoned sardine cannery wharf a few years ago to live in but a problem with septic disposal over the water prevented us from persuing it any futher.

A sculptor friend of mine bought an old church once and lived in it . . . then again he needed the space because he built these huge metal sculptures . . .

But you are right, only the folks here find this stuff beautiful in its own right. ;)

That ole 215 C I Ford six in the 51 would certainly make someone a fine powerplant . Parts are readily avalible from N A P A still and they really aren't hard to re- build . The transmissions are Balky and expensive but for you Shiftless people , a C- 4 will go up behind the Early Ford six without problems . Ed Shaver
