Kasim led Rose quickly to the car, and all but gunned the accelerator to get the car out of the estate and on the open road toward the city, and the coast beyond.

"The place we're going, it's one of the most exclusive hotels in all of The Kingdom. It's on the coast; caters for people of all nationalities... it should be quite the evening we have... we... have the use of a suite there..."

He turned his head to glance at Rose, to catch the expression on her face.

Rose turned to Kasim, a smile lighting her face as he spoke of the hotel suite.

"It sounds amazing," she replied, reaching out to place her hand lightly upon his thigh, knowing that if he had to slow the car in traffic then she would have to remove it in case anyone looked in, but for now she could leave it there.

She turned her head back to look out of the window, watching as they passed city life by, wondering briefly if she would ever see her own country again and a sudden worry that she would not be able to adjust to a life such as what Kasim offered her.

She chewed upon her bottom lip thoughtfully.

She loved Kasim, of that she was certain, but could she really give up her freedom and live holed up as she had been?

"Will I ever be allowed to travel?" she asked the question almost absently.

Kasim frowned at her question, wondering what had brought on... whatever was going in her mind.

"Of course you will," he said quietly, "We travel a lot, and I hope on at least some of those journey's you will agree to come with me..."

He glanced at her before turning his attention back to the road, "Travel alone is not out of the question either, in case you were wondering, though... I will worry, and I'm not certain it will be easy, under the circumstances of who I am... what I do."

Rose turned away from the window to look at Kasim, surprised by his answer. She had been certain he would tell her that travelling would be out of the question.

"I'd love to go with you," she told him, her mood lightening a little.

"I was wondering something else too..." she said, hoping she wasnt pushing her luck.

Kasim smiled as she said she'd love to go with him, raising an eyebrow when she said there was something else.

"Tell me, my heart," he said. "What is on your mind?"

"Something trivial really, in light of recent events...but...it's just..." she paused, blushing a little and pressing her hands together in her lap before continuing, "I'm not used to feeling so...useless...Kasim. I would like to be able to do things through the day aside from helping Basha'ir. I'd like to be able to go to the store and buy our supplies myself, to choose what I would like to cook for you...not have you go or have things delivered. You do not live alone now and your shopping list needs to be..adjusted..."

She stopped, wondering had she gone too far and bit her bottom lip again as she regarded him.

"There's also things to be getting for the baby...and I want for us to pick them together...to go shopping together...I mean, I have money...if I'm allowed to access my bank account I can contribute..."

Kasim chuckled softly, though with an ache in his heart.

"My love, do I stifle you? It is not with intent. Islam demands that a man provides for his family, it is his duty, but a woman's means are her own. Of course you may have access to your money, and bank account, and I will make regular payments for the housekeeping and groceries if you wish...

"I do not object to you shopping, but you must... understand that you are not, by law, permitted to drive here... so you must take a driver from the staff. I will make some suggestions of you wish, and you may interview them yourself to decide who you like..."

Rose looked at Kasim as he suggested she interview a driver, the thought not really appealing to her, but she had had no idea that she wouldnt be allowed to drive herself.

"I...I couldn't trouble your men that way," she said, "Not for something so simple as a trip to the store..."

She sighed a little, somewhat appeased by his agreement to her having access to her bank account again though. That in itself made her feel a little easier in herself.

"You dont stifle me..." she said, finally answering his earlier question, "...I think I'm just still a little confused about where I stand with you...our boundaries..." she smiled at him softly. "I...I know things have changed between us, but, I still wonder if some of the things you said to me on that first night together still stand..."

Kasim frowned softly.

"What things, my love," he asked gently. "As you said, things have changed between then and now."

He felt a huge rush of shame as he remembered how he had treated her when Farik had first given her to him... how he had certainly not seen her as the diamond that women of Islam were to their husbands, their beloveds...

"The way I treated you," he said softly, "It was unforgivable."

Seeing the look upon his face she gave his leg a light squeeze.

"It doesnt matter...and in case you haven't noticed, I have forgiven you...not everything that you did back then was bad..wicked perhaps..." and she smiled at him, trying to ease his mood.

"Hmmmm," he said quietly, "Still I am sorry I treated you badly. Wickedly I can accept," he turned his head to give her a grin, "but should I ever treat you the way I did before then so help me, may Allah strike me dead for my sins."

He changed gears, to avoid getting stuck as the sandy road became an incline, and reached to cover her hand with his, and squeeze her fingers softly.

"Kasim, do not speak like that," she said, fearing what she would do should she ever lose him.

They made the rest of the journey in a mixture of comfortouble silence and easy chatting, anticipation growing within Rose the closer they got to the hotel that Kasim had promised held so much.

Rounding the final bend, Kasim brought the car to a halt at the front entrance of a very exclusive, high rise hotel. A doorman stepped forward to open the door to the car, and a bell boy to take the bag from Kasim, once he had it from the trunk. Both were careful not to invade Rose's space, nor to touch her uncovered hands.

Kasim held out his hand to her, having no such qualms, she being his intended wife after all, and leaning toward her said, "Welcome to Luxury, my love."

Rose slipped her hand into his and grinned at him, letting him lead her into the hotel, her eyes drinking in the opulence of the lobby as Kasim checked them in at the Reception desk and then they made their way up to their room, the glass elevator giving her an amazing view of the grounds as they climbed higher and higher.

"It's a good job I dont have a fear of heights," she commented, though she did move a little closer to Kasim's side as the carriage continued to climb.

"Don't tell me we're on the top floor...?" she said.

Kasim put his arm around Rose as she moved closer to him, as if nervous of the height to which the elevator was rising.

"Ah then," he said softly, leaning down to speak into her ear, "I fear I must keep it a secret..."

As they neared the end of their journey, the elevator entered a tiled shaft, shielding them from view of everything as they reached the penthouse floor. The doors sang open into an opulent lobby, facing a set of double doors. These Kasim opened with the key card he held, then stood aside for Rose to enter the suite.

Occupying all of the top floor of the hotel, with views from all side, marble tile and plush carpets in warm, soothing tones immediately graced the eye. There was a sitting room, with television, entertainment system and a full bar, an office with conference facilities, a beautifully appointed dressing room and bedroom, with a larger than king sized bed, and of course a full bathroom with an enormous whirlpool tub and separate shower.

"Ahlan," he said softly, stepping in behind her and closing the door, letting her wander for a moment to sample the delights of the suite.
