"I can't help my past, Hayati..." he said softly, feeling her involuntary shiver. "I would not have troubled you with it... but if you still wish to be my wife, you know know all of me." He turned to go and do as she had suggested. |

Rose caught his hand as he went to move and pulled him closer. "I still wish to be your wife and I would know all of you...I want to know all of you..." she smiled and stood on her tiptoes to press a kiss to his mouth. "Now, let's get on with this..." she said, turning him and smacking his behind to send him on his way in a bold move. |

Kasim shared the kiss, then jumped and gave her an old fashioned look as she slapped his behind. Shaking his head, and smiling softly, wryly, he made his way back out to Farik... raising an eyebrow in query as he entered the room. "Where are we at?" he asked quietly. |

Farik stood as Kasim re-entered the room. "I've organised a charter flight to get us back to my villa, we'll be able to look into things better from there. I've sent Sawadi ahead to track the ship." |

Kasim nodded. "And the lawyer? You have sent him to the FBI?" Kasim ran everything through his mind. It would of course be better if they could hit the detention party as the ship docked - quicker to get from the port to the villa than from the middle of nowhere in the desert, where their interrogation bunkers were generally hidden. But it was also impractical, and would mean fighting of multiple law enforcement agencies - and likely Samiiri's men too. "What about the medical teams... the installation of the facilities at the villa?" |

"A man like Farik does not deserve you... or your loyalty," the dark man said as he walked away. Basha'ir gasped a shuddering breath as the cold water hit her full in the face, dripped down her neck and wet the bodice of her shift. It was only a cup, but it was icy, and enough to rouse her from the near unconscious stupour she had fallen into at the hands of the repeated burning... he wanted her conscious. The whole of right arm from her elbow to the tip of her middle finger of her hand throbbed with the fading agony of his attentions... the shackled weight heavy, and pulled her arm down to her side as he unshackled it... and she could not help the soft cry that came from her as she moved the damaged limb. The dark man wound his hand into her hair and pulled back her head - making her look at him. "Let me ask you again: Where is Farik? What are his plans? Where and who are his associates?" Basha'ir's eyes drooped in spite of the icy water still dripping from her face. "Go to hell," she whispered. The dark man chuckled, "As you wish." He gestured to the two soldiers standing nearby to him and ordered softly. "Get her up... walk her. I will return in an hour." |

"I will sort that once we are there. It can be done quickly but I want to oversee it myself," Farik replied then nodded toward the bedroom. "Everything alright? I dont want to cause...difficulties...between the two of you and I must say, it was a surprise to learn that computers are her thing...she could prove very useful to me..." |

Kasim frowned. "If she chooses to help you, beyond this, Farik..." he sighed, "For the moment, let neither of us make assumptions of promises. You are my brother and I love you dearly, but things will never be as they were and you must understand that." Kasim said. firmly. "You have my friendship, my love, my respect... I believe in your cause, but I must be my own man now, just as my Rose will be her own woman." He smile then, "but yes... it surprised me too." He sighed then, "Farik, I know it is not what you want to hear, but we must be honest, hmm? I have... grave doubts whether Basha'ir will survive this man. He is ruthless.. inhuman." |

Farik understood the warning behind Kasim's carefully measured words about his and Rose's futures and he backed off...for now. His expression became bleak when his brother mentioned the fate that possibly awaited Basha'ir. Sighing he sank back into the dining chair from which he had risen. "I know...the same thoughts haunt my mind every second of the day..." he replied, his tone grim. "I just want her back..." He ran a hand over his face and sighed wearily and said, "I dont think I've ever really known what love was, until her..." |

Kasim put a hand supportively onto Farik's shoulder. "Will you be directly involved in her extraction?" He needed to know for his planning. "Or will you leave that to the assault teams?" |

"I will be there..." Farik answered, knowing there was a chance that it could be his undoing, but he wanted to be there, he had to be there. "She will need me..." |

Kasim cursed inwardly, but understood Farik's desires. If it were Rose, he would want the same. Still he said. "I don't need to tell you that it makes things more dangerous that way - for you," he ran a hand through his hair. "They will be hoping you will come." He was about to say more when he was interrupted by the ringing of both his and Farik's cells both at the same time. He frowned, and picked up. "Kasim," he said abruptly... and listened to the man on the other end of the phone as he told him that arrangements had been made for their supposed Military convoy. Now all he needed was the location of the interrogation bunker they would take her to. He thanked the man and hung up, not wanting to expose his cell for too long to the likes of the Colonel. Then looked in query at Farik. |

"The cars are downstairs, the men are on their way up for your belongings, is Rose ready?" Before Kasim could answer, Rose emerged from the bedroom, pulling the suitcase on it's wheels. "I'm ready...just a few things to get from in here," she replied, moving with a rucksack to the bookshelves and drawers at the other side of the room. |

Kasim moved to help Rose, picking up what he needed, and carrying the things that he would not allow Rose to carry, before the door sounded, and the men came in for their things. He took Rose's hand, squeezing it softly. the unspoken promise of a better home to come, and turned with her to follow Farik down to the cars that would take them on their way to he next stage of their plan. |

Basha'ir fought their efforts to bring her over to the bed frame, left bare of its mattress. Her efforts were ineffectual of course... they were much stronger than she, even without the fact of her sleeplessness, her pain... her fear. It was a crushing fear, one that made her want to fall to her knees and weep for forgiveness even as she stopped her tongue from mentioning Farik, anything about him... the plans he had. "No!" she struggled as she came closer, and saw the dark man working with wires and clamps. it didn't take a genius to work out his intent. "No, you can't!" "Then tell me where to find Farik, and of his plans... his business associates..." Even as they struggled, the soldiers put her down, tying her around the wrists and ankles, also around the neck to the metal of the bed. She opened her mouth to protest again, only to half drown as the dark man emptied a large bucket of freezing water over the whole of her body. She struggled against her bonds as he came at her with the two charged probes. One he attached to the side of the bedframe, the other... Whiteness flashed across her vision and her body burned in waves as he pressed the probe against the skin of her upper chest, where the soldiers had dislodged her shift... her teeth clamped together as every muscle spasmed, and she tasted blood as she bit the side of her cheek, and just as she felt her heart was about to burst, the probe was gone, the electricity crackled through her body for a few seconds more then faded to nothing... only then could she let out the cry that had built inside of her. |
