Battle Royale RPG bug reports

Posted Image

WARNING: This is a DEMO—meaning, it isn't fully finished! It will have missing graphics and bugs and require you to fix some of them yourself to play, but it is worth it! I will be explaining the problems here, and feel free to ask here also in case you have a bug or a problem! Also the person who made the game so far has had his word here! You can give feedback and tell here about the possible bugs you have, to help him fix all of them!

Thanks to tumblr, I, for the first time ever, heard about this game! I downloaded, super excited to play it, but faced plenty, plenty bugs and errors. Most of them about pictures. Apparently, it's yet to be finished, which is why so many bugs. I asked the game creator to possibly help if they can. Apparently are working on Shinji's story atm!

HERE IS HOW TO FIX THE STARTING ERROR

Spoiler: click to toggle

How to fix the missing graphics?

You need to DOWNLOAD this RTP (run time package).
1. Select "RPG MAKER XP"
2. Scroll down and click "AGREE AND DOWNLOAD THE RPG MAKER XP RTP"
3. Once it is downloaded, click it and RUN the program.
4. Go to the folder where you saved it (with me, it was C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS\Standard )
5. "Graphics" folder most likely has all the missing Tilesets and Characters!

I myself am going through each folder, select all, copy and paste into Battle Royale's folders.
Example:
Spoiler: click to toggle

Characters
Tilesets

Anyway, have you played, are you gonna, what are you doing in the game, how are things going? Who are your allies there? What you wish to do?

Here and Here, you can find most of the graphics missing to make the game work.

I suceeded in making the game work. So far, I'm on day 1, 9 am. Shuya has teamed up with Hirono and the two fought Kiriyama and made him run away to save Yukiko and Yumiko who joined their team. So far, Yoshitoki, Fumiyo, Mayumi, Noriko, Megumi, Izumi, Hiroshi, Ryuhei and Mitsuru are dead and I hope to find Yukie and Haruka, haha. Anyway, the game is actually really fun and cute and I love how when you actually talk with the characters, especially your allies, everyone is so in character.

Heyhey! First off, thank you so much for the link. But, I'm having a little trouble even trying to open it? OFC it's probably because of the fact I'm on the mac, the antichrist of trying to play games...

But, if anyone can figure out this problem, I'd seriously appreciate it! I so want to play this game.

Anyway, when I approach the file, this is what comes up for me:
\/Battle Royale
>Audio
>Data
Game.exe
Game.ini
Game.rxproj
>Graphics
Readme.txt

But, when I try to open any of them, I get either this huge puke of text from "game.exe", or an error saying they couldn't find an app to open it with "game.ini" or "game.rxproj". Any help? :(

Did you already do the things I suggested in the first post? I have no idea how things work on macs, does these kind of games usually work on them? :O Game.exe is supposed to be the game itself but the icon + "Document" doesn't look like an exe file...

Hmm, I did try to, but there was no rgss file? :( I've never really tried out any RPG games on here, so I can't say for sure how it usually works.. Ah, it probably won't. But thank you for the help anyway! :D

You need to download the file here and put it into the game folder! :D It would be so sad if you couldn't play it at all... I'm trying to be in contact with the creator and ask if he will answer me now :)

Ohhh, that explains it! This wasn't exactly my smartest moment. :P

Unfortunately, there's still nothing. The game's still a document file to me, so I do think it's a problem with my mac more than anything else... But I do really appreciate you contacting the creator, and I hope that I can find some way to play this! :$

  • Download and install Crossover. The trial version will work! You can always crack it but you didn’t hear it from me. When you open it, there will be a list of programs you can download among other confusing shit (this is the software installer). Just ignore it for now.
  • I know you can run some RPG Maker games without downloading RPG Maker itself, but I couldn’t get this to work without it. SO download RPG Maker XP. And download the game of course. Save them both somewhere you can find them easily. The BR Game is in a .rar file so extract it. Leave the folder the way it is.
  • Go back to your buddy Crossover and open the Software Installer (Can be found under the Configure tab if it’s not still open from when you originally installed the program).
  • Under “select application”, find the “Other Applications” tab - it’s under Unsupported Applications. Highlight it and move on to Select Installer.
  • Go to “Choose Installer File” and select your RPG Maker XP exe file.
  • You can leave the bottle thing on default, I think it’s at New WinXP. That works fine.
  • install that bitch. it should open ok.
  • Now go back and do the same thing with the game. However when you go to select it, you have to choose the “Installer Folder” option instead and select the whole folder or else it won’t work.
  • When you get to the bottle section, you need to install it into the same bottle as your RPG Maker or else it also won’t work
  • INSTALL THAT BITCH and it should run@!!!!! now go kill people.

And didn't censor anything!

This looks awesome, but I'm having trouble getting started. What keys do you use to pick up a bag, or anything?

EDIT: C to pick up bags.

Thank you so much for the help! Still having a little trouble trying to tackle stuff, but considering this is my first time doing anything with this software, it'll take me a while, but I'll get there. Thank you so much again! I really appreciate it!

Hey!! Just wanted to add something to these instructions that I forgot:

  • After you first install Crossover, the software installer will come up after you click - wait for it - install new software. It's seriously the only option at that point, but it doesn't come up automatically lol oops. At any time it can still be found under the Configure tab.
  • By "install it to the same bottle as your RPG Maker" I mean the NEW bottle you created for RPG Maker, not just the same type. It will be the last bottle on your list and should probably be labelled as RPG Maker XP (if you don't make your own name it will just contain the name of the program). You can change your bottle names so I would suggest doing that in order to avoid confusion.

Just wanted to clarify since my wording wasn't the greatest!! :)

I was able to recruit Noriko, Shogo, and Hirono to my group, before getting stupidly blown up in a danger zone at 5 am...oh well, maybe I'll try again later.
