Batle Royale RPG - Mitsuko; Looking for some opinions on how to handle Mitsuko

I've been working hard at Shinji's update today, which I hope to finish over the holidays. After that will be Hiroki, which is fairly straight-forward. Then Kiriyama, which will also be quite simple as all he can do is kill.

However, I've started to think a bit about Mitsuko. I don't really want to make her just a direct killer like Kiriyama, so I'd like to get some opinions. Should she be able to recruit allies? Obvious ones are Hirono and Yoshimi. Should she be able to attack the school or hack the computers? Or do you think there is another way that she can win which is more in character?

Also, this is unlikely to ever happen but it is something that I thought of back when I started this game. What do you think about being able to make your own characters? I mean, choose gender, name and appearance. Then have different dialogue choices during encounters (e.g. aggressive, cautious, friendly, etc.). As I said, I have no plans to do this now but maybe after I finish everything else if there is a lot of interest it could be possible.

Ah Mitsuko, one of my favourite fiction female character <3
I have some ideas about her battlestyle because sometimes I try to imagine a FPS based on Battle Royale. She give me the impression of a stealth-based character which is weak (In a 1vs1 with no trick she don't have a chance against other characters) but very clever and silent, like the thief of Skyrim or a classic Assassin of "Assassin's Creed" (with no combat skills except the assassination technique and surprise attack) . This we talk about an action game, let's see how I see this in a RPG. I have see that in this RPG there are already scenes when you have to be stealty (When you have to save Izumi) so this make all easier (I think) . So Mitsuko can approach her enemies in a stealty mode and go to their back and... ZAC! Pretty overpowered, but if she get caught then will be start the classic conversation window and not all characters will be easy on her, so you have to calculate your moves wisely. For the winning way I don't think another except for the classic one, in fact she is not the type of persone who will try to escape and she isn't enough smart about technology like Shogo or Shinji. Talking about the allies I think she can try to charm other people (obviously only males) and then kill them. I think she can be a pretty hard but fun character because outside of assassination/charm skills she isn't very strong and she will be alone all the time.

For the custom character I'm not very sure because this is a story about the novel and you have to cut off a real character to put him in. (For example, in my BR FPS dream you can create your own character but you are against random character chosen by the game when you start a new playtrough, and do this with RPG Maker will be a lot difficult and ugly because there will be no story, only battles... I hope you got my point)

Kazuo gave some very good and interesting tips and ideas! I thought maybe Mitsuko could be able to maybe ally with Hirono and Yoshimi? Normally she wouldn't but the game is more about how the player chooses to play (you can choose to kill as Shuya and he would never brutally kill). Should it be more *difficult* to get them join (long conversation + many options to choose and you must get it all correct or otherwise her cover is blown)?

Also, would she aim to win the whole thing or somehow escape?

I think the stealth kill would really suit her!

Thanks, those are some really good ideas. I like the idea of Mitsuko playing to win but not being able to beat everyone in a straight out fight. I think stealth/trickery is the way to go with her. Being able to ally with some characters, but eventually having to back stab them if you want to win...nice! I'm not sure how easy it will be to make a stealth mechanic, so I might have to think of a workaround. Anyway, I won't be ready to do her story for a while yet. I think she'll end up being quite a unique character ^_^
