Not to be messed with. Seriously.

So much time has passed and so many hands have touched this sample that it would be impossible to determine the origin.

It's an interesting story, but not much more IMO.

When living in Oregon I remember hearing that story and also somewhere along the way read an article about someone who lives in Sutherlin who wrote a book about bigfoot. I don't know if he was related to this lady or not but was still alive about 10 years ago but rarely would talk to anyone about it. I'll have to see if I can find the info again. It would be interesting, "IF" they aren't related that he wrote about a creature in that area and this lady's parents ran into one (allegedly).

Edited to add:

Information about Sutherlin OR

A lot of activity reported for decades in the area

Sutherlin OR Information...

Has a lot of reported bigfoot activity

A blogger, Linda Newton Perry is from the area and runs the "Bigfoot Ballyhoo" blog...

Author and witness to bigfoot sightings Stan Johnson lives in Sutherlin.

Bigfoot Memoirs: My Life with the Sasquatch (Paperback)
By (author) Stan Johnson

I've never read the book but it sounds like a case of habituation which I'm highly doubtful of.

Article I found online about Stan Johnson

Seems Stan Johnson's name appears more on sites that are also affiliated with UFO's and suggesting ties between bigfoot and them. Johnson's alleged encounters date back to at least the early 80s that I've seen online.
