I'd be suprised if any more than two people on this forum really gave a shit about the cards. I have some, but I've never played with them, I used to buy them because I thought the art was bitchin'. |

This is how I remember Yu-Gi-Oh. It was back in like 2000ish. We were there with Pokemon cards and then suddenly this whole new thing called Yu-Gi-Oh came but it looked crap so only idiots collected the cards for a bit before returning to Pokemans |

Actually I don't think Pokemon every really reclaimed the throne. The only reason I collected Pokemon cards was because they were Pokemon. |

In my primary school it was basically Pokemans forever - Nothing could beat it. I remember when Simpsons Cards came out. That was lulworthy. |

I actually bought all the Simpsons decks. but the only reason I got them was because they were the Simpsons. I also stooped low enough to by Bionicles cards. At my school nothing beat Yu-Gi-Oh. But it was only a select few who played with them. Everyone else was far too busy with Beyblades. I recently found my Simpsons cards and gave them all to my brother, there was one I did think of keeping just because I found it rather funny. It was a card made to look like it had been bitten and taped back together and on the card was a picture of Homer having just bitten a card. |

At my school, anyone who wanted to play Beyblades had to wear safety goggles, because bits kept flying off them and hitting people in the eyes. |

I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh back when it first came out and you could get two Blue Eyes White Dragons in play by the end of the first turn. I liked the original 6 book Manga with people being burned to death in resteraunts by Yugi or going mental and dying of visions of their hearts eaten by crocodile gods, even the early part of the follow up manga 'Duelist' which brought in the card game was decent with Pegaus being killed and having his eye torn out instead of just dissapearing for ages... by the time the cartoon series was in full swing it really started to put a leash on what the series was originally about, GX onwards just neutered it completely. |

Agreed. Also, we used to play with beyblades on upside down bin lids. They had the tendancy to fly up into peoples faces. |
