Iaral! We have defeated the Succubus bound to the book. Is this thing now purified or do we have to fight a demon from EACH of the 9 Hells to completely sever its connection to that plane? |

Iaral Redgrave The tome was cleansed after its demons were defeated. There is no further need to delve into the Nine Hells if you value your lives. The Ashmadai will not be pleased with your meddling, however. They will hunt you down, regardless of what you do. |

Ah-buh.... Wai-.... What should our next step be and what do we do about this tome in the meantime? |

Iaral Redgrave The tome still contains a measure of its former power. I can bind it once more so it can be used. Unfortunately, this specific tome loses its power as an implement when opened, so at the moment it's of no use to anyone. If you will allow me a week to examine the tome and transcribe what I can, I will return it to you with its power restored. |

Sounds good. We shall leave the tome with you... but, that only solves half the problem. What do we do about the Ashmadai? Do we wipe them out at their stronghold or just hold up here and let them wear out in waves? |

Jarlaxle Baenre *Jarlaxle chuckles at the thought of "wiping out" the Ashmadai.* You can't, Variz. They're numberless, and stubborn. Death in service to Asmodeus is their ultimate reward. Iaral Redgrave There is no way to stop them, Variz... They will keep coming until they are all dead, or until they complete their mission. Szass Tam must have learned of our interference... and my survival. He wants all of us dead, or worse. |

So then our next step is to assemble the best defense. We'll need as much information about them as possible. *Naris leans against a wall and cracks her neck.* Where do we begin? |

Perhaps adding some reinforcement from a deity that's against Asmodeus? And definitely add some booby traps. |

Given this encounter, I find the term "booby trap" a bit odd...It's imperative that we utilize the proper leverage against them, but what it may come down to is a matter of power. |

Jarlaxle Baenre There's really not much you can do to be prepared. Just learn the recognize their weapons and their brands, though even those can be hidden by magical means. *Jarlaxe shrugs and pushes his hat up a bit.* You're going to have to be on guard until they stop coming. Not paranoia, mind you. Just caution. Iaral Redgrave Unfortunately... Jarlaxle's right. The Ashmadai are relentless... We'll have to find another safe haven.

Hmm, there's a chance they can find us one by one in town? |

*Naris stretches as Daryl crawls up to her shoulder, sighing* Can't say I ever saw this coming... |

Then while Iaral is getting everything ready I'd like to have one last look around the town. If you'll excuse me. *bows and opens the tower door*

Be careful. Iaral, what can we do to help? Between all of us we can take a certain amount of necessary provisions with us. |

vaDanti leisurely walks up to the party, yawning and mussing up her hair as she does so. Couldn't help over hearing, but we can't stay here any more, eh? I know quite a few people that owe me... hmm, let's call them "favors" shall we? Maybe one of them could help. |
