The journal is a small, leather-bound notebook, with a simple latch to keep it closed. On the inside cover there are two names carved into the leather - Gafjun and Soigan. The notes are written in a thin, precise script. Inside the back cover there is a fresh quill neatly tucked into a pocket.

Gafjun and Soigan. Never forget, no matter what.

The "Black Staple Adventuring Company" has turned out to be very entertaining so far. I think I can soon repay my debt to Morgar, and then move on. I don't know how long I will stay with the group, as I doubt they would be willing to help me assassinate my brother and hunt down a single Orc throughout the entire world. Until I can find any information about either though, I think I will stay. These... people are growing on me.

Often I wonder how they would react if they learned who I really was. Would they think it strange that the happy-go-lucky street thief they all know and love (HA! That's a laugh) once had enough money to buy each of them ten times over? Would they be surprised if I told them who my father was? Would they think of me any differently if I told them I pulled my daggers from parents lifeless bodies before running off to join the circus?

I don't know. Also I think I'm drunk, but I'm not sure.

Today a horrible thing happened. I passed out in the middle of a battle! Even worse, I RAN OUT OF LIQUOR! Deep Sashelas, why have you forsaken me so?! Also, there was this new guy who did something, I don't remember, I wanted to stab him, but Naris wouldn't let me.

Ha, how strange the things I take pleasure from now. I had the dream again. Every single time I close my eyes I have that dream. Every single time I pass out I hear their screams. Every. Single. Time. Except... when I'm drunk. For some reason the drink quiets the voices, it blurs the ghosts, it allows me to rest.

I talked to Variz the other day, about forests and woods and that whole nature thing everyone expects of me because I'm an Elf. Would they think it strange that not only do I not take joy from the woods, but I hate them with a righteous indignation? If given a chance I would destroy them all for the part they played in my past. In my brother's scheme. In Soigan's escape. The two life changing events I have suffered through would never have happened if there hadn't been a forest nearby.

We're heading to Neverwinter. I'm going to see if someone else has some liquor they will lend me. If not then I fear I will wake my new "friends" with my screams this night.

I may have mentioned the incident to Naris earlier. She didn't pry, for which I am very grateful.

We arrived in Neverwinter last night. We're staying at an inn that has good ale. I would have liked something stronger, but no matter. I will make do with what is available to me. Our pursuers followed us, again. We fought them off, all but a single Tiefling who surrendered to us. I was not at my best during the encounter, and it showed. Maybe Naris is right. Maybe it's time for me to get sober, to learn how to cope without the dull haze of alcohol. I had fun though.

When we returned to the inn I took a brief detour into the city to find some company for the night. There was a cute Human, I'd say the boy was about 17 or so, and a beautiful Eladrin, I'd guess she was 5 years older than me, who caught my eye. After a few words and some ale they both agreed to... entertain themselves with me. I'd meant to have them leave before morning, but the ale and our "exercise" got to us and we all fell asleep.

Breakfast was interesting. Who knows, maybe someone here will know of the Orc with the Blue Star Pendant.

Well, that was probably the most fun I've had in a long time. Not since old Aria have I had that much fun. Oh, it wasn't the same as performing in front of a crowd, but I did get to use some of the skills she taught me. I vaulted over a large crevasse in a stairwell. It reminded me of the old Dungeon Raiders/Dragon Slayers bit the circus used to do.

So, to start off, something happened in, Evernight(I think), and then something else happened and I woke up in a pool of water, in a dark pit, with no liquor, and a bunch of reanimated skeletons surrounding me. After that the group found me, we moved on, and we found Morgar in a statue. After that we ran into some Goblins doing some sort of ritual.

Knowing our group's... luck with books, we quickly decided to get the spell-book away from them. Unfortunately instead of interrupting a summoning ritual we interrupted a sealing ritual. Great. So, we ran. We ran straight into a wall of flesh. Luckily though, there was a pool of blood nearby(That is the strangest thing I've ever written), so I dipped Tiamat's Dagger in it, increasing it's power exponentially. Then the demon toad the goblins were trying to seal appeared.

Well, the fight was long and hard. With the help of a new ally who appeared shortly before, stuck in the dungeon we were in due to some other reason, we were able to defeat it. Then Marbles decided to possess the body of the demon toad. It was fun. He ate a statue and spit out a bunch of gems which I had hoped to keep for myself, but... well, I was convinced to distribute it among the group. Apparently they make us stronger when they are used by different people in a group. I think it would have made my wallet stronger by being sold to nobles, stolen, and resold to different nobles. It would have helped finance my expedition to eliminate my brother, but no matter. I got something far better than that.

I received a Charm of Opening. With this charm I can open or disarm damn near anything. With this I can steal near anything I need to help take down that bastard Gafjun.

Oh, and we apparently found the crypt of the lost king of Neverwinter or some bullshit like that. And Naris got a talking staff thing, I think, I don't remember really well, I'm sobering up, so I'm off to find some liquor hopefully.

Today was interesting... "we" returned to Neverwinter today. I had actually returned and left several times before my friends arrived from their adventure. They did something in a dungeon or a temple or something. I'm actually have no idea what, but judging from previous experience... those seem the most likely.

We were doing some shopping when I managed to uncover a spy for Bregan D'aerthe. That was something. Oh and I bought some new armor, my old set was getting rather... tattered, lets call it. Then Morgar examined a sewer grate. And the adventure began...At any rate I have a new rule:

Never jump into an open sewer with strange stranger than usual noises coming out of it. Bad things happen if I do. At least, don't go down alone.

So there was some manner of plague-changed beasts down there. We wound up fighting a group of reanimated skeletons(at least that's what I think they were) and a group of plague-changed drakes drakes. The skeletons were no match, what with my quick feet and quicker blade, but the drakes proved a bit more of a challenge. Nevertheless we pulled through.

Then the stupid Heir to throne showed up and bloodydragonlandedinthemiddleofthedamnedsquareandstartedwreckingshit! That was one of the hardest fights we've ever had. At least, that I was a part of. Iaral, Brandis, and Regdar had to help us. And the stupid Heir, but he didn't really do anything until it pushed me off the pier.

Well, I got pushed off the pier. Twice. The second time it countered an attack I made. After that I purposefully dropped down off the side, waited until I was certain I was hidden, and then vault back up and charged the dragon! I had spotted a sword stuck in the dragons side and figured I could push it in and wrench it out to deal it some extra damage. I... failed. Horribly. I wound up hugging the stupid thing. On the plus side, I've got a new sword! From what I can tell it appears to be an enchanted longsword that once belonged to a dragonslayer. Now it's mine. Oh, right, we killed the dragon and people were happy. I was exhausted from blood loss and being pushed off a pier. Brandis fixed me up though, so now I'm mostly okay.

Also I bought new gloves and boots. Did I mention I got pushed off a pier. By a dragon. Twice? Oh, and we(I) get free booze tonight! I'm heading back down to bar to celebrate that now, just stopped to get myself cleaned up some.
