Round 1 "This is where the fun begins" - Star Wars, 1977 Look at me, embracing the theme. You like that? If I survive more rounds I'll put more movie quotes in. So not everyone on my tribe has shown up yet, but I'm hoping to be the first person to talk to them when I do. It's always a bit overwhelming at first, but luckily I only have to have to talk to 5 people. Love the board design though, now I've got used it. This mystery twist worries me. Anything challenge-related and I'm gone before I've even got started. I haven't mentioned to my teammates yet how much I suck at them, don't want them thinking I'm a liability. Denzel is my main man at the moment. Don C is playing up the mafia schtick, as you'd expect. He wants to be in charge, and I'm happy to let him think he is. I'm where I want to be right now: in the loop, but with a bigger figurehead to shield me. As long as I can get in good with one more person, I think I'm sitting pretty. I knew turning up early would help. Going to bed soon, hopefully I don't get cut out of the alliance while I sleep.

So I was pretty much the only one around for Maximus' arrival, and we got talking. Awesome, that's just what I wanted. I was pretty forthcoming with the info so I think I managed to earn his trust. Hughes takes ages to respond to PMs and never has much to say. I think I have a good side alliance with him, though. I am hoping for me, Maximus and Alonzo to become the main threesome but I can't bring that up to Maximus yet without it being obvious I'm already aligned with Alonzo and he's third man in. I better wait until the two of them actually, yknow, talk. I consider today a success. Peace out for now! |

Thanks, C! But it could all be for nothing if tomorrow is a challenge-based elimination. Hannibal still isn't here, maybe that's a good thing if I'm going to have to compete against him. My educated guess at this stage is that every tribe loses a player and then we become 2 tribes of 10 and it's on like Donkey Kong.

Just so I understand what's going on - you're in an alliance of some sort with everyone but Hannibal? Not being confident in your challenge skills can be scary, but it's generally a better thing in tribal games - you get a bit more slack when it's not do-or-die every single round. I like your thoughts - keep us informed! |

Kinda. I have the potential to work with everyone, at least. My goal is just to be everyone's favorite, and I *think* I have done that, with the possible exception of Alonzo...who, ironically, is my favorite. Hope I'm not playing too hard too soon. Once you've got that stigma on you it's hard to get off. I want to be middle of the pack right now, pacing myself. |

lolpuzzles. My teacher's always told me to show my working out. Here you can gain some insight into my strategy:![]() I copied the puzzle into paint and tried to solve it there, labelling each square so I knew which URL to use. I guess the extra work was too time consuming, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where 32 went. That was my first strategy anyway, my second strategy was "steal Howard's post", because he only had one thing wrong. Sorry our tribe was so boring, but at least we're weeding out the inactives, right? The challenge may have been a formality, but we did learn that Howard is our best challenge person! Great if we're gonna stay on these teams. not so great if he challengewhores his way out of getting the boot late game. I feel pretty confident saying I'm in control of my tribe at this point. Apparently these guys don't even speak to eachother, they want ME to set up the alliances. Ha! I wish the tribes could stay like this forever, but we gotta merge or shuffle soon and that's gonna be a whole new game. I'd prefer to merge with the supporting actors, because the Sixth Sense kid is pretty inactive and might vote for himself. |

Round 2 "Where are the white women at?" - Blazing Saddles, 1974 I'm a freakin' Nostradamus. This is pretty much exactly what I thought would happen. I need to be careful how I play this. I know it's going to be naturally cagey at first, but you will not win this game with just five allies. However, neither side is going to want to be the first one to concede ground. First impressions...Elizabeth is lovely, so is Kathy Bates, but Lisbeth is very standoff-ish. Elizabeth claims she was on the outs, but I feel that's unlikely. I'm being careful what I share, as I don't want the girls leaking it back to my guys if I say who I do or don't like before I know if I can trust them. I want to keep my guys in line and don't want to give them any motivation to flip. Not sure how I'm going to propose a mixed alliance yet without coming off as sincere, but it'll come in time. My natural British charrrm is going to be out in full force. I'll probably have more to say in the morning. |

Oh, we're gonna kill it, no doubt. It looks like we got some challenge stars on our team, and the supporting actresses put in an embarrassing effort last night. I'm going to try and get Lisbeth out next. She really did not seem thrilled about the merger at all, and doesn't seem to have much interest in talking to me. If I'm feeling brave, I'll cut Don Corleone loose. He's going to be the hardest sell to keep, I think. I am really trying to stress to these women what a bad idea it is to play the game as if it's 5 v 5. Once you've alienated half your tribe, you're gonna be in a very weak position at the merge. I need to figure out some way of proposing a "6-person majority", with my three guys and three of the girls. Preferably Streep, Kathy & Ms Bennett. It would help if I knew what the main alliance was on the girls tribe, but I don't see anyone giving up that info easily. |

God Damn. Talking to girls hasn't been this difficult since High School. People are dropping out of the challenge left and right. There's no progress on a coalition, it's still 5-5. Looks like I'm voting for Lisbeth tonight, if it comes to that. |

Round 3 "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Yknow, one time we had a hill bombed for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like...victory" - Apocalypse Now, 1979 Congratulations to my team on a hard-fought victory. And congratulations to me on being the only person to drop points twice. D'oh! The first one I screwed up because I didn't realize Imageshack would cut you off from retrieving your URL if you didn't have an account. Seriously, that's what happened. Does my idiocy know no bounds? I still enjoyed watching everyone work together for the first time though. I was doing fistpumps IRL every time we won a point. Hopefully there will be more opportunities for bonding experiences like this. However, next time, I'm signing in last. From my observations, it seems Annie is the leader of the girls, or at least the conduit. I'm trying to get close to her so that even if they win the power struggle and decide to Pagong the men, she would want to keep me around. So with any luck, I've covered all my bases. Maximus seems to think he has got Miss Elizabeth Bennett on board with the dudes. I did think from her first message to me she was hoping to be made an offer. But when I started talking about it, she didn't respond, so maybe she is playing us. Only time will tell, and we don't plan to go to tribal council any time soon. |

So far you've indicated that Lisbeth likely would be your first target, that Bennet may be willing to work with Maximus, and that Annie may be a leader in the tribe. What's your opinion on Miranda and Rose? You say that you think it unwise to play a 5v5 game within the tribe. How have you gone about correcting that divide and attempting to keep the upperhand while still placating the tribe? |

Rose probably should have been the target last night. Several of the guys have commented that they haven't really talked to her, and she may be a threat to pull Howard away from us. Miranda is very similar to Annie in a lot of ways, I'm starting to think she is Annie's right hand (wo)man. Alonzo suggested targeting her to weaken the girls alliance, but I think she's more use to us than Lisbeth. I've talked to all the girls and mentioned to them that I'd be willing to cooperate with them, but no-one seems to trust eachother enough yet to open up, so we're all just waiting out on this first vote to see where the chips lie. If the first vote is 5-5, it wouldn't be a disaster. Everyone seems to know it's part of the game. But regardless of who wins control, talking to the girls and trying to gain their trust on an individual basis is the way to go. It never hurts to keep your options open. I'd definitely throw them a bone every now and then if the guys won control, just to keep them onside. You've gotta give a little to get a little. If the girls win the first vote, I can afford to be a little more aggressive in chasing alliances, as I'd have nothing to lose at that point. Annie has said she thinks things will probably be more flexible after the first vote. I hope so. Mixing it up is important because we could do a lot of damage to eachother in terms of previous votes etc and we don't want the boot order to be completely transparent to the other tribe. |

I think your point about it being flexible after the first vote is completely valid. BUT, do you think it'd be wiser to pursue an aggressive course and talk up the ladies before that seemingly inevitable tie vote? I know before this merger you had talked a good deal to us about the Best Actor dynamics. Do you feel comfortable enough with the dynamics of the Best Actor tribe to pursue a tie vote? And is that what makes you most comfortable, getting a leg-up on the Best Actress tribe, considering you don't fully know their dynamics? |

Thanks, Rach! Not knowing the girls' dynamics is definitely a factor in sticking with the guys for now. I don't wanna say "Hey Annie and Miranda, let's vote off Rose" if the three of them are BFFs, ya know? If I knew who was tight with who, it would be much easier to say "How about our three and your three just run this tribe together? then we'd control everything". Pretty sure none of my guys are gonna flip. I guess the most likely would be Howard, simply because I wasn't really that close to him even before the merge and I haven't heard from him in a while, but I get the impression he just doesn't talk much in general. |

I still think Annie is the leader, and the reason why I think that is because Elizabeth told me that Annie "was supposed to tell me which man to prevote for", when she couldn't make it to the challenge. On that note, if we go to TC tonight I'm voting off Elizabeth if she stays inactive. If she didn't even leave a prevote, that would make it 6-4. I'd feel bad because I like her and she seemed the most willing to work with the guys, but if she's not contributing to challenges then it is in no-one's interest to keep her around. For all I know, maybe she's not coming back. |

Oof, we just got our asses kicked in the challenge and it feels bad, man. Now we gotta vote somebody out. Will we vote for Rose or Lisbeth? Hope the girls don't vote for me. Depends what criteria they go for. If it's who is most likely to lose a tiebreaker, I'm your guy. This could be my last post, I guess we'll see. |

Round 4 "The point is ladies and gentlemen that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works." - Wall Street, 1987 Holy shit. That's the first time I've ever won an individual challenge in any ORG. Good to know I can pull it out when it matters the most. (That's what he said.) And so now Rose is gone directly by my hand. You know how Tyson says it's awesome when you crush people's dreams? I don't feel that. I'm still in the game, but at what cost? These 5 votes to my name is a target I don't care for...ugh...it's like having an extra vote at every tribal council from now on. And now I might somehow have conned people into thinking I'm a challenge threat too (lol), so there's that target as well. Elizabeth is on my shitlist right now because she gave Maximus her word she would vote with the guys and then didn't. What's the point in lying about that? She is the weakest link in trust and arguably in challenges too, so she needs to go next. I think even the girls will be on board with it - they're not gonna be happy to know she was playing both sides. Unless it was all pre-arranged. The girls all logged off pretty quickly after the duel, I hope it's not too awkward for them. We need the girls on their side because if they feel excluded, they will flip on us first chance we get. My biggest worry is a female alliance - that the lead actresses and supporting actresses might band together for both being underdogs and pull something off after a swap. But they hate eachother, so maybe that won't happen. The ironic thing is our inability to cooperate pre-merge might screw us over post-merge when we actually *do* want to work together. Nobody made concessions because we all wanted power. And now that my group has power, it's made us the biggest targets. Er...why did we want this again? |
