Round 9

"Politics is knowing when to pull the trigger" - The Godfather Part III, 1990

It was a rough night, but it worked out rather well. Mrs Miller is gone, and oh boy, did she go. Joker too. I didn't want him out this early, Miranda kinda railroaded it, but it was probably a good choice as he's no longer clinging onto Lisbeth's tit. Just in time, because now it might be time to make a move. These next two rounds were the ones I was most scared of, but it looks like all the attention is going to be focused on Don Vito, which is great.

So Mrs Miller outed Don's alliance as being the majority alliance and not ours. Alonzo unsurprisingly finds himself in both, just like he now appears to be aligned with every player left in the game. Alonzo has always been a keep your options open kinda guy. It's not that I haven't noticed his shadiness, I just tolerate because I think I can control it. He did give us all that great info from the Don after all. Whether that was his primary alliance or not, perception is more important than reality, and I now have the numbers to get rid of the Don with or without him.

Another thing great about it is that I'm now higher on the trust ladder with Annie, Miranda, and probably the supportings too. Although I probably was with the girls anyway.

As for who is next after the Don, I'd prefer Elizabeth. Managing to get Lisbeth to vote out two of her supposed allies from the other side perhaps indicated she isn't as untrustworthy as we thought. But oh well, she gotta go sometime.

Round 10

"There's not much chance of coming out clean" - Brick, 2005

I dedicate this non-blindside (who leaked it this time?) to Mrs Miller, who requested a non-Pagoning. So this is the first time I've got my hands dirty and I'm happy that the Don didn't seem too mad (at least I hope I was in his "allies" column and not his "enemies" ). Alonzo's double dealing however is coming back to bite him in the ass, like I figured it would. Not even being there for the vote looked very bad for him.

I've always tried to position myself in a good place for the long-term, rather than the short-term, and I know there is a chance I could be going next. Lisbeth and Elizabeth are going to be trying to swing the supports into a tie, and therefore will target the person with the most votes. That's Miranda for now, but if she wins immunity I'm next in line, baby.

We really need to make sure we offer the supports the better deal (or at least what they THINK is the better deal) because I could totally see them flip-flopping back and forth and letting us tear eachother apart. Mammy and Cole have both said they have barely spoken to Elizabeth, so we've got that going for us.

One more round. One more round and we can do whatever we want.

Sgt<3 Blindside dedications! You seem to be positioned well but was it a mistake for the Leads to give the Supps so much power? How did you learn about the Beth's plan to push for a tie? Is beating Miranda in a challenge to get immunity and avoid a tie situation out of the question?

We needed the supps for the last vote, and we need them for the next one too. After that I was planning on going back to picking them off, but that might just have got more difficult.

I actually don't know if this is Lisbeth's plan or not. I just think it's her smartest move and what I would do.

And the day I beat Miranda in a challenge is the day Satan drives to work in a snow plough. That woman is fierce.

...I don't know if Satan needs to drive to work, but I imagine he'd want to cause as much pollution as possible. He is evil after all.

So Alonzo wants to get Miranda out next. Can't anything be simple in this game? I guess now I have to decide whether he is well-intentioned and just an overzealous player, or whether he's playing all sides. I'm probably going to send a message to Annie telling her we need to keep our people reigned in.

Because I'm calling it now, it's gonna be an all-supporting F3 if none of us can get our act together and trust eachother.

This Alonzo/Miranda power struggle is spiraling out of control. I am far from confident about this vote going my way. I gotta back my bud here, but he may have bitten off more than he can chew when it comes to Miranda. Lisbeth told me herself that she trusts us two guys the least, and we're relying on her vote tonight? Great!

I've told Annie that whatever happens, I want to go back to focusing on the supports after this. That's my best case scenario either way. Although, if Miranda manages to get Elizabeth and Lisbeth's trust back, she doesn't need me at all and I'm completely dispensable. That's why I'm not sure how hard I should be pushing for Miranda to go.

If tonight goes badly, then...well, being in the minority is not so bad. The supporting 3 have proved that.

Round 11

"What, so I'm the bad guy now? How'd that happen?" - Falling Down, 1993

Alonzo is gone! Miranda did pretty well to get the loyalty of someone she wanted out 2 days earlier. First of all, I don't buy that Mammy self-voted. I was telling Alonzo in PM even before the vote "are you sure Mammy's with us? She hit Howard twice". I tried to put the spook in Cole last minute to get him to vote Miranda by pointing out how quickly the girls targeted him in the challenge. I wonder how close I came.

My back-up plan should this happen was to resume Pagonging the suports and take my chances at being a favorable jury opponent late game. But Miranda says I'm out next, so I'm out next.

I'm not giving up, obviously. If a deal is made that spares me, I'll take it. But I think I'm gonna be bottom of whatever alliance I make from now on, and there's just not enough people around that want to keep me. I kinda went all-in with Alonzo on this one, and I backed the wrong horse. Such is life.

Sidenote: did I miss a round or something? I'm no longer matching up with the numbers on the main board. Ah well, too lazy to check.

"Ever notice how you come across somebody once in a while you shouldn’t have f’ed with? That’s me." Walt Kowalski, Gran Torino (2008)

:( I know that didn't go as you had hoped but it was close ... damn close and I hope you can take that one positive from this and work it to your advantage. You are still in this thing -- don't forget that. Sometimes the best defense is an offense. Channel your inner Walt Kowalski.

Thanks, C! I'll try my best.

I'm slowly starting the scrambling. I started with Commodus, because he voted with us, saying "I think it's pretty obvious who the top 4 is in Miranda's hierarchy. Think anyone will be willing to shake things up before I go?". Mammy is a real wildcard though. Will he even be online long enough for me to make my case?

I'm telling all the girls "hey, I know I'm gone, nice knowing you". Partially because I want to mend those bridges, whether I'm still in the game or not, and partially so they don't think I'm a threat. It's actually not so bad being on the bottom, because the only way is up.

What I hope people don't realise is that making a power move tonight is completely unnecessary, as Miranda loses a tiebreaker against anyone.

Well I didn't really have any expectations when I started asking around for an alliance against the 4 girls, but I did get a hold of Mammy and she was more receptive than I thought she would be. Then I tried Cole and asked if he'd be willing to vote Elizabeth, and he said he's down. It may hinge on whether or not Mammy left a prevote. Ugh, it's just one problem after another with that woman.

It was fun while it lasted. It's amazing how fast the wheels came off on what I thought was a very cautious and secure game, but I guess that's what makes these games so exciting. I had a good run and almost went out 19th, so I can't complain.

I'd like to thank Rachel for being my biggest fan (I'm definitely a Weisz guy now), Cher for being an inspirational sweetheart and Billy for inviting me to play and putting on a good show.

Looking forward to jury duty, it's far less work than being in the game.
