HPW 2: THE AFTER PARTY

LIVE FROM THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM – LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
MONDAY APRIL 10, 2017

The show begins with an opening sequence of the HPW roster arriving one by one into the the corridors of the Hollywood Palladium. There are huge cheers from the crowd for Keira Hayden, Cynthia Machado, and Carli Davis, who blows a kiss at the lens. Eryn Tyme stops to show off her 'assets', Dylan Styles taps his newly won HPW Championship with pride, while The Shane Sisters make crude 'cunnilingus' gestures before laughing hysterically. The show then officially gets underway with a small procession of pyrotechnics. Inside the ring we find Arcane, Charles Fischer and Marcella Soto who are each formally introduced by Sienna Richards. As the opening rituals come to a close Marcella greets the fans before turning to the GM's for their reactions to last weeks events and what they think about tonight's match ups.

Charles says HPW have a great new champion in Dylan Styles, which doesn't go down too well with the fans. He says last week's show really set the bar here in the CWC, and that he's excited to see the Women's division officially get underway, adding that it was only right they should be able to fight one another rather than always being compared to their male counterparts.

Arcane was quick to interject though, stating that the Women's Championship was merely to highlight the strength in depth they have on their roster. He said there would be no glass ceiling here in Hollywood Pro, and that he was sure we would see one of these women challenging for the HPW Championship very soon.

Fischer nodded in agreement, albeit unconvincingly. Marcella asked him if there were any negatives to take from HPW 1. Fischer responded through gritted teeth; McLaughlin. He said he hired Bryan McLaughlin the wrestler, not the Broken McLaughlin the clown, adding that if there's a repeat of last week's antics there would be consequences. He joked that if he wanted a clown he would have hired one, but was confident the matter was behind them.

Arcane, who appeared to find this very amusing, decided to change the subject. He said he was particularly impressed by Jeanette Justice. He praised her humility in defeat and announced that she would be representing HPW in the California Cup next week. This went down very well with the Hollywood faithful. He then closed the interview by praising their CWC counterparts on a series of excellent shows. He said he was at the BCW show himself, as a guest of Kenneth Wayne's, a revelation to the envious Fischer. He said that BCW were trailblazing right now when it came to the extreme side of wrestling, but he was adamant they could top that in Hollywood Pro. He then declared that in addition to Broken McLaughlin and The Nomad's No DQ Match tonight, that Finch Maruta and Chris Ghensi would now be fighting under hardcore rules. This delighted the fans who responded with a 'H-P-Dub' chant as the interview came to an end.

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP NO.1 CONTENDERS MATCH
ASH SCION v MONTANA SHANE v KEIRA HAYDEN

Right from the off Scion and Hayden seemed intent on working as a team to overcome Montana Shane. 'The Queen of Hardcore' fought valiantly but the fans erupted when she was tossed over the ropes by her opponents. Keira didn't milk the reception, laying into Scion with a couple of shoot kicks and a northern lights suplex. She went for an early cover but Montana broke the pin. As Scion tried rising to her feet it was clear she'd injured her shoulder in the fall. Keira and Montana fought in the ring as Montana got the upper hand following an eye gauge as the Referee checked on Scion. She went for a reverse DDT but Keira countered into another Suplex. She climbed the turnbuckle signalling for The Souvenir but out of nowhere Dakota Shane came running down the rampway and pushed her off the top rope and onto the outside of the ring. By now Montana and Scion were beginning to recover as Montana saw her opponent struggling and seized the moment with her Shane Solution (Bow and Arrow Lock). Scion was in too much pain to fight it and quickly tapped out.

WINNER: MONTANA SHANE

Backstage, David Mendes is in his locker room admiring his moustache when Dylan Styles appears behind him in the mirror, the HPW Championship slung across his shoulder. Mendes turns around, chewing on his toothpick, and asks 'Sup?' Styles complements his moustache with underlying sarcastic tones, knowing Mendes will perceive it as flattery. He goes onto declare that in Hollywood 'image is everything', but good-looking guys like them need not have to worry. He goes off on a tangent using various superlatives and ten dollar words that Mendes can't understand, berating the rest off the 'dead beats' in HPW. He says the 'Hollywood Elite' should stick together, and that if he scratches Mendes' back, he expects to have his scratched in return. This seemingly obvious metaphor is lost on Mendes, though, as the two talk further while the cameras cut back to ringside.

SINGLES MATCH
DANIEL CORVIN v CHUCK ADAMS

This was barely a contest as Daniel Corvin made light work of the veteran grappler, Chuck Adams. With his Father looking on from ringside, Corvin showed little mercy with a sequence of powerslams and German suplexes. He locked on the single leg crab but Adams just about found the ropes. Ashe Corvin demanded his son finish his opponent and he duly delivered with his Sword of Damocles - a top rope double foot stomp. After the match Ashe took to the microphone to tell the world about his son's greatness. He said he had been trained by the best, himself, and that he was head and shoulders above anything else here in Hollywood Pro. He described tonight's match as merely a 'training session' and a warning for anyone that came between them and their road to the HPW Championship.

WINNER: DANIEL CORVIN

In the halls of the Hollywood Pavillion we find Chris Ghensi when he's suddenly approached by a disgruntled Wulf Erikson. Wulf wants to know why he stopped him from getting to Dylan Styles in last week's Main Event Ladder Match. Ghensi muttered something about not knowing that Dylan was up the ladder, and tried to walk away but Wulf wasn't satisfied. He asked again but Ghensi spat in his face, declaring he didn't realise at the time but he probably saved HPW from having an awful champion. Wulf wiped his face clean, and clenched his fists, but then thought better of it. He let out a wry smile and said this matter would eventually be settled in the ring.

NO DQ MATCH
BROKEN MCLAUGHLIN v THE NOMAD

With a beer bottle in hand, The Nomad made his entrance through the crowd. Parents shielded their kids from the filthy vagrant although he managed to pocket a couple dollars from some socially conscious hipsters in the front row. Broken McLaughlin came out next to a mixed reaction; with a maniacal smile, he produced a balloon puppet for a kid at ringside - in the shape of a cock and balls. Broken then snatched a steel chair and climbed into the ring. Before the bell had even rung, Nomad lobbed his beer bottle towards Broken but The Intergalactic Burger Overlord managed to use his steel chair as a shield as glass shattered everywhere. McLaughin suddenly advanced, swinging the chair wildly, but was tripped with a drop toe hold and fell face first onto the weapon. With Broken already bleeding, Nomad took control of the match, cornering him with a series of stiff punches, chops and forearms. He dropped McLaughlin with a snap DDT and went for a quick pinfall but to no avail. Broken rolled outside to catch a breather but Nomad launched himself over the ropes with a suicide dive. They brawled at ringside, sending the announce team running for cover, as Broken clotheslined Nomad over their table. They eventually fought back into the ring where The Intergalactic Burger Overlord got the upper hand, drilling Nomad with a few vicious chair shots. He went for the cover but Nomad kicked out. The clown Irish whipped Nomad into the corner and connected with the Triple Thick Milkshake Superkick to a pop from the crowd. McLaughlin then lifted a groggy Nomad for the McDouble but the hobo somehow countered into his Rough Sleeper submission hold. As Nomad exerted more and more pressure, Broken’s knees started to buckle. Then out of nowhere, Chris Ghensi slid into the ring and cracked a kendo stick across Nomad’s forehead. McLaughlin - clearly exhausted - slumped across his opponent and the referee made the three count. While McLaughlin struggled to his feet to celebrate, Ghensi dusted off his hands with a wicked grin across his face.

WINNER: BROKEN MCLAUGHLIN

We cut backstage to see Charles Fischer and Jack Rose in what appears to be a heated exchange. Charles is criticising Rose for losing on BCW Brawl, and subsequently "tarnishing the HPW brand". Prodding him in the chest, he said Rose needed to turn his form around if he ever wanted to win over the California fans. Fischer threatened to tear up his contract if he doesn't win his next bout on BCW programming, declaring that 'maybe Rose isn't the wrestler he was led to believe.' Rose pushes his hand away and rejects Fischer's suggestion, explaining that after 6 months out of the ring there were bound to be a few 'cobwebs'. He asks Fischer if he made the same accusations towards David Mendes, who also lost in a match with Blue Collar Wrestling. Fischer explains that there would be no need, because 'The Hollywood Highlight Reel' is a big draw here on the West Coast and the fans will respect him regardless. Rose scoffs, pointing out that Mendes' nickname is stupid, because he's actually from Nevada, before walking off.

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP NO.1 CONTENDERS MATCH
ERYN TYME v MADALYN MACIE v CARLISLE DAVIS

All three girls seemed in a hurry to get the win here as they took turns to cover one another in unsuccessful pinfalls. Nobody seemed to get an early stronghold on the match as they tussled back and forth with momentum. Eventually Macie took control with a missile dropkick on Eryn and a running knee smash to Carli. As both girls fell into opposite corners of the ring Macie used her hands to put her opponents in focus like a film director, first on Eryn then on Carli before delivering a big knee strike to the latter. She turned around to give Eryn the same treatment but 'Miss Assitude' was back on her feet and sent her flying with a Moon Blast - running jumping butt bump. Eryn pulled her up to hit the Celtic Driver (Tombstone Piledriver), but 'Mookie' reversed into a headscissor takedown. Carli was back to her feet now and took advantage of the situation with a series of right hooks before tossing Macie to the outside of the ring. She was immediately caught off guard though by a rejuvenated Eryn Tyme as the two fan favourites brawled around the ring. Eventually Eryn caught Carli with a heart punch after reversing an Irish whip. By now Macie was on the top turnbuckle ready to pounce and leapt off with a flying crossbody, but she was caught midair by Eryn who grabbed her by the waist and made sure this time to connect with the Celtic Driver before pinning her for the three count! Eryn rolled out of the ring to celebrate with the fans - mostly the male ones - whilst gesturing to her waist with an invisible belt. Carli rolled into the ring seemingly devastated to see she'd once again lost without being pinned. Madalyn rose to her feet and began yelling at her opponent for not having the wherewithal to break up the pin before kicking her in the stomach and whipping her into the turnbuckle. She made her signature directors pose again but before any damage could be inflicted Eryn ran back into the ring to prevent her from doing so. Macie rolled to the outside pointing at Eryn and yelling for her to watch her back as 'Miss Assitude' helped her opponent back up onto her feet.

WINNER: ERYN TYME

We cut to Charles Fischer standing backstage with Marcella Soto. He seemed to have an agenda and goes into a tirade about how disappointed he was in 'Bryan McLaughlin'. Fischer refused to acknowledge him with this 'ludicrous pseudonym he goes by'. He said he if he wants to continue clowning around then there would be consequences. Fischer then changed his tune, adding that he's just got off the phone with a big named female wrestler and was pretty excited about sealing a deal. He finished up by saying the fans, and Arcane, wouldn't want to miss this.

SINGLES MATCH
JACK ROSE v DAVID MENDES

Jack Rose extended his hand to his opponent, as he did every match, in a mark of sportsmanship, but Mendes was quick to wave it away instead asking for the bell to be rung. The Englishman tried to ground his high-flying opponent early on with a series of locks and submissions. These mostly baffled the intellectually inferior Mendes but his athleticism proved advantageous as Rose failed to finish him off. Midway through the match Dylan Styles made his way out from the back. This distracted Rose, who had an axe to grind after Styles attacked him last week, as Mendes took advantage of the situation and gained control of the match. Rose wrestled it back with his London Eye (Tilt o Whirl Backbreaker), but Styles pulled on the top ropes when he was gearing up for the finisher - Bed of Roses. Styles nonchalantly made his way to the back as Mendes recovered to hit Rose with a top rope jumping cutter to finish the match.

WINNER: DAVID MENDES

We cut backstage to the catering room where an assortment of wrestlers and staff milled around the tables, chatting among themselves. The camera focussed on two in particular: Keira Hayden and Carli Davis. With a heavy sigh, Keira expressed her disappointment at losing two consecutive matches in Hollywood Pro. Carli solemnly agreed, citing her own negative record since joining the promotion. Together they pondered how to end the slump and prove they belong in the upper tier. Having overheard their conversation, Arcane moved in closer, putting his arms round the ladies with a warm smile. The Assistant General Manager promised them a chance to redeem themselves next week at HPW 3.!Keira demanded the specifics of this opportunity and Arcane replied, “well you seem to relate to one another, so work together”. Keira looked at Carli, who shrugged in response, and then back at Arcane with a defiant nod. He wished them both luck and slipped out into the corridor as Keira and Carli shook hands.

We then cut to a very animated Finch Maruta seen rifling through a wheeled cart, loaded to the brim with suspicious items he had gathered from around the arena. He was talking to himself under his breath when he was approached by Hollywood Pro interviewer Marcella Soto. Maruta refused to let her get a word in edgewise. He said that he had just returned from Fischer's office; his no disqualification request for tonight's match against Chris Ghensi had been approved. He added that he couldn't, in good conscience, sit idly by while Ghensi made the outrageous claim to be the King of Hardcore. Through several expletives, he concluded by saying that the match would serve as a catalyst in HPW staking a claim in the ultraviolent shenanigans that go on within the Coalition.

SINGLES MATCH
FINCH MARUTA v CHRIS GHENSI

With the fans jeering, Chris Ghensi made his entrance to the sound of “Lusus Naturae”, while Maruta Finch got a positive reaction when he pushed out a shopping cart full of weapons. He took a baseball bat and stepped forward but Chris quickly retreated to retrieve a steel chair from ringside. They swung their respective weapons, steel clanging into steel, but then Ghensi made Finch double over with a kick to the groin. The King of Hardcore then seized control, using his considerable weight advantage to bully Finch with clubbing blows to the head. He opened out the chair and then suplexed Maruta onto it for a near fall. Ghensi stalked his opponent with the bat in hand, but Finch was too agile, ducking under the oncoming shot, hitting the ropes and then dropping Ghensi with a flying leg lariat. Finch scaled the nearest turnbuckle and hit The King of Hardcore with a splash for a near fall of his own. Ghensi retained the advantage soon after, grounding Maruta with kneebars and leglocks. Looking to end the match, Ghensi lifted Finch for the Concusser onto a steel chair but after some elbow strikes, Finch managed to struggle out of it. He then went to run the ropes but Ghensi caught him on the return with a crunching spear tackle. Chris went for the cover but no dice. While he argued with the referee, The Nomad rolled into the ring with a kendo stick and hit The King of Hardcore across the back of the head. Ghensi stumbled for a moment until Maruta caught him with a double knee facebreaker for the pinfall. But as Finch raised his arms in celebration, The Nomad struck him across the back with the kendo stick while screaming obscenities. Several members of security swarmed the ring to restrain the deranged hobo before he could inflict any more damage on either Ghensi or Maruta.

WINNER: FINCH MARUTA

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP NO.1 CONTENDERS MATCH
JEANETTE JUSTICE v DAKOTA SHANE v CYNTHIA MACHADO

The fans were on their feet here for California girls Cynthia and Jeanette, who showed a great deal of respect for one another as they entered the ring. When the match began they instantly recognised the perks of teaming up on their opponent doing their utmost to dispose of Dakota Shane early on. It was only when JJ went for the pin that the coalition ended, as the two went back and forth in the middle of the ring. Jeanette managed to pull off a swinging fishermans suplex but Dakota was ready to break the pinfall the followed. As momentum shifted in Dakota's favour she kept the upper hand with a series of face slaps and eye gauges on the inexperienced Justice. Cynthia was on her feet by now, just as Jeanette was about to regain advantage. JJ set up for a Reverse DDT but Dakota countered into a Samoan Drop. Cynthia ascended the top turnbuckle as Dakota climbed to her feet only to be met with a Diving Hurricanrana. JJ was up on her feet too but after a Sinfully Sweet Kick (Superkick) it was lights out for the 1, 2, 3. Cynthia celebrated with the fans while Jeanette was left ruing a second successive defeat.

WINNER: CYNTHIA MACHADO

Jeanette Justice walked back through the curtains into the gorilla press where Charles Fischer was standing leaning up against a wall, his arms folded. Jeanette was still clutching her jaw after Cynthia's superkick as Fischer approached her. He told her that she had a lot of potential, and a great future, but at the end of the day she had been pinned two weeks running. He said he couldn't afford to have that kind of inexperience representing HPW in the California Cup. But, he went on, Arcane had put her forward to fly the flag for Hollywood Pro, and as naive as that was, he would honour his Assistant's word. So next week she would be facing fellow Californian Cynthia Machado, the woman she just lost to, in a qualifier to see who represents HPW the following week in the California Cup. He went on to condescend her, saying she shouldn't worry if she comes up short this time around, as Machado is far more experienced, and there would be plenty more opportunities for her down the line. Jeanette didn't say anything, looking deflated but equally determined to prove Fischer wrong.

The cameras then cut to Marcella Soto who was standing by with a pumped up Finch Maruta. Finch said he was pleased to maintain his unbeaten record in singles matches but was ready and raring to go for whoever stood in his way next. He called out The Nomad, and Ghensi again, saying he'd take on all comers. He was then approached by Daniel Corvin and his mouthpiece/Father, Ashe. Ashe told Finch it was embarrassing to hear him talk up his unbeaten record based on his two worthless opponents. He said if he had achieved greatness, or came from a family of greatness, or even if he was a little taller, people might respect him more. This didn't sit well with Finch who got up close in Ashe's face but was duly attacked by Daniel. Ashe looked on in elation as Daniel continued to laying into the helpless Maruta until he was eventually thwarted off by HPW officials.

SINGLES MATCH [NON-TITLE]
DYLAN STYLES v WULF ERIKSON

Dylan Styles came out first, relishing his hostile reaction and admiring his new entrance video as it replayed his moment of glory at HPW 1. He toyed with various fans in the front row offering them a chance to touch his belt before cruelly pulling it away at the last minute. He looked on with a calm focus though as Wulf Erikson entered the rampway. The crowd went wild for 'The Silver Bullet' who stared down his opponent making verbal and physical gestures about taking his title. He ran into the ring as the match got immediately underway with a few Styles stomps to Wulf's back. The two brawled back and forth before Wulf getting the upper hand with a springboard hurricanrana. Styles rolled out of the ring to halt Wulf's momentum but Wulf went after him as the two brawled on the outside. Styles then rolled back into the ring to evade the fight but it was all a ploy as he stomped away at the following Erikson. Styles then took great pleasure it maintaining control of the match. He tried pinning Wulf after a precession of body chops, pele kicks and kneeled shoot kicks. Eventually Wulf reversed an Irish whip and hit a flying snapmare. He looked to have the match won as he climbed the turnbuckle but David Mendes appeared out of nowhere. Wulf was distracted and pointed Mendes out to the Referee but this was enough to allow Styles time to recover who got to his feet and struck Wulf with a few right hooks before tossing him to the centre of the ring. He kneeled down to catch his breath, carefully untying his bootlace in the process. Styles then drew his untied boot the attention of the Referee as Mendes climbed under the ropes. Styles grabbed a hold of the Referee and demanded he tie his shoelace to allow the match to continue, just as Wulf was climbing to his feet, but as he did so he was met with a Jumping Cutter from Mendes, who promptly rolled out of the ring and exited the the scene. Styles pushed the Referee out of the way and quickly made the cover as the stumbling official made the three count. Styles music began to play as he snatched his belt off the awarding official and celebrated over Wulf's body, trash talking his beaten opponent whilst pointing to the title as the show came to a close.

WINNER: DYLAN STYLES
