HPW 6: BLOCKBUSTER NIGHT

LIVE FROM THE LOS ANGELES MEMORIAL SPORTS ARENA –LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
MONDAY MAY 8, 2017

The show opened to the backstage area. Charles Fischer was pacing around a locker room looking extremely irritated. David Mendes was sat on a chair chewing on a toothpick, mostly preoccupied by his iPhone. Sat beside him was the reigning HPW Champion, Dylan Styles, who had his belt slung over his shoulder, looking relatively disinterested in what Fischer had to say.

Charles Fischer:
“I leave the show in his hands for one fucking week and look at the mess I come back to. I've got five hillbillys fighting for the TV Title, Sam Tolson is going for the CWC World Title, and lord above, Wulf Erikson has a shot at HPW Championship!? Where were you in all this Mendes?’

Mendes looked up from his phone.

David Mendes:
“I had the night off. Killer party downtown, Chuck, I got totally was-”

Fischer interrupted.

Charles Fischer:
“Christ alive. Where’s Ryan Zane?”

David Mendes:
“Gone, boss.”

Charles Fischer:
“Gone!?”

David Mendes:
“He's not the only one either.”

Charles Fischer:
“Who else has gone?”

David Mendes:
“Machado.”

Charles Fischer:
“Who!?”

David Mendes:
“Cynthia Machado.”

He shrugged.

Charles Fischer:
“The ass girl?”

David Mendes:
“That's Eryn Tyme.”

Charles Fischer:
“I can't keep track. All these chicks are interchangeable.”

Mendes winced.

David Mendes:
"You know, out there, they say you're holding the women back."

Charles Fischer:
“Bullshit. What else do they say “out there”?”

David Mendes:
“They say Wulf Erikson is going to beat Dylan tonight. I don't think I'd want that belt knowing those disgusting dreadlocks had been all over it!’

Dylan looked at belt, all the while saying nothing.

Charles Fischer:
“Jesus wept! That is not something I want to think about right now. Mendes, get the word out there that ANYBODY who volunteers to be a lumberjack tonight will be fired on the spot. You hear me?”

Mendes rolled his eyes and reluctantly left the room leaving Fischer alone with his champion.

Charles Fischer:
“Do you ever fucking say anything?”

Dylan didn't reply as Fischer shook his head. Just then there was a knock at the door as Ashe Corvin entered the room.

Ashe Corvin:
‘You wanted to see me?’

Charles Fischer:
‘Yes, but not right here. Let's take a walk.’

The cameras then cut to ringside as the HPW theme song began to play followed by an elaborate procession of fireworks. Henry Walsh and Samuel Santos greeted the fans at home, giving a thorough rundown of tonight’s card as the show got underway. Before the opening match Rachel Redding gave a brief interview with Cass Baumer. Cass probed her for a response to last week's antics, and why she scrawled that infamous message across the canvas. Redding said it was nothing personal against the CWC, or any of her opponents, but merely a message to say she came here to win the California Cup, to beat the best of the CWC, and tonight she would be deliver on that promise. She said she felt she was a level above most, if not all of the the competitors here, and nothing she'd faced up to now disproved that theory. She also said it was inevitable she'd have to face Josh Kennedy at some stage, one of the few guys here she actually respected. She then left to make her way to the ring as Cass welcomed everyone at home to Blockbuster Night and promised them a good evening's entertainment.

The first match of the night was the much anticipated California Cup Final. Sienna Richards paraded the trophy before the match as the two wrestlers made their entrances. Rachel Redding was looking her usual confident self as the match got underway. The crowd was right behind the BCW man though as he put everything he had into the opening exchanges. The match went back and forth for quite some time, with both wrestlers putting on a great display. ‘There's a reason these two young athletes are in the final,’ declared Henry Walsh as the crowd applauded what they were seeing. Redding eventually decided enough was enough and broke any newfound sportsmanship with an cheap eye rake. She taunted the crowd as she took firm control of the match but the fans were back on their feet when Kennedy reversed a running knee strike into a spinebuster. Kennedy looked to seize the moment with some more power moves before climbing up top to hit his signature Broken Mirror (Curb Stomp), but a weary Redding scrambled to her feet and hit him with a low blow on top of the turnbuckle. The Referee protested with a warning but she shoved him away and tossed Kennedy into the middle of the ring. Kennedy took his time but climbed back upright only to be struck by Redding with the Eye of the Storm (Buff Blockbuster) for the three count. The crowd were irate as Redding received the trophy and proceeded to parade it around the ring much to their annoyance.

WINNER: RACHEL REDDING

After the match Redding walked through the curtain where Jess Anderson was waiting to make her entrance. Neither woman was looking where she was heading and the two barged straight into one another. Jess immediately apologised but Redding was less courteous, demanding that the ‘little girl’ watch where she going in future, or there would be consequences. Anderson wasn't pleased with Redding’s tone and called her out on it. Redding just laughed, ‘See you soon, little girl’’ she said, with her back to Anderson, ‘Real soon.’

The cameras then cut to Cass Baumer who was standing by with Wulf Erikson. She asked Wulf if he had heard the news about any lumberjacks getting fired and what that meant for his match tonight. Wulf said if it came down to a fair fight he would be leaving that ring tonight as the new HPW Champion. Having the lumberjacks there would have ensured they could wrestle fair and square. But now he's not so sure that will happen. He said ‘what will be will be’ and he'll do his best to please the fans with a killer main event though, and hopefully get his hands on the belt. He thanked Cass for her time and told her she was doing an excellent job, who seemed grateful for that compliment.

The next match was a bitter sweet moment for the fans as they cheered on Carli Davis in her last ever appearance in Hollywood Pro. She had never been pinned in her time here and the commentators expressed their disappointment that Charles Fischer had agreed to let her go, as the match got underway. Jess Anderson seemed to have her backstage encounter still on her mind as Carli took early control of the match. But after a couple of two counts she shook it off and regained focus. The match went back and forth for quite sometime until a slip up by Davis let the former WEW Women's Champion in to take control. After hitting the Stunned Silence (Swinging Snap DDT) she followed up with the Show Stealer (Corkscrew 620 Senton) for the three count. Jess celebrated with the fans as Carli got to her feet. There was a heated exchange of words between the two through the ropes as Carli then climbed the turnbuckle to thank the Hollywood fans who duly replied with a warm reception. Jess looked a bit put out that the gloss had been taken off her impressive victory but continued up the rampway staring down her departing opponent.

WINNER: JESS ANDERSON

All four women were in the ring when the cameras cut back from commercial. Montana and Dakota were making rude and blatant gestures towards the Referee, who seemed to be loving the attention. Just then Arcane's music began to play as the Assistant GM came out onto the rampway with a heavy set female official. He said it was only right to have a the biggest prize in Women's wrestling officiated by a top female referee. And for that reason he was making a last minute change. Dakota and Montana looked furious as the Miss Trunchpool-esque figure entered the ring and stared them down, while the forlorn middle aged man she had replaced protested at Arcane. But as the bell rang it was evident that this was more than just a title opportunity, there were scores to be settled. The Shane Sisters stood across the ring from Tyme and Fader like the early scenes of a much anticipated tag match and the opening exchanges resembled exactly that. As Montana and Eryn battled on one side, Blaise and Dakota threw arms on the other and before long the two sisters were sent tumbling to the outside. But the Anglo-Celtic partnership didn't last long as Eryn and Blaise nodded at one another and slapped hands before locking up themselves. Fader quickly justified her tag as the hot favourite with a series of power moves on Miss Assitude. She wowed the crowd with a spinebuster and a running senton but any momentum was killed by the rejuvenated Shane Sisters. Fader fought them both off for a while but was helpless to overcome the numerical advantage. As Fader rolled out the ring Dakota didn't hesitate to attack her sister from behind. She looked like stealing the win at one stage but Eryn Tyme broke the pin. It was back and forth between the two for a while until Fader got back in on the action. She quickly helped Eryn dispose of The Queen of Sleaze but Montana was back in the ring and landed a perfectly timed MKO (RKO) on Fader. She turned towards Eryn and went for another but Eryn was wise to it and reversed into a sidewalk slam. Montana stumbled to her feet and walked straight into the Celtic Driver (Tombstone Piledriver) as Eryn made the cover. Fader slid into the ring to break it up but Dakota pulled her back at the last minute to prevent her from doing so as they brawled on the outside. The bell rang and an emotional Eryn rolled onto her back. She climbed to her feet and the referee handed her the belt as the fans chanted her name.

WINNER, AND NEW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: ERYN TYME

Backstage Charles Fischer was waiting in gorilla. A weary Dakota Shane stepped through the curtains but immediately stopped by the General Manager. He told her not to worry about tonight's loss, as for women like her there would be better things to come. He went on to say he needed someone to carry this company at United We Stand, someone that could deliver. Arcane's guys wouldn't do that, he said. Arcane’s guys wouldn't go the extra mile. He needed someone that would do anything to win, even go through their own sister to get it, or even try to bribe the officials. Dakota was that person, who he would be sending to the PPV next week to compete for the CWC World Title. The Queen of Sleaze looked pleased with herself. ‘Next time you see me I’ll be the World Champion’ she told him.

Samantha Tolson was walking through the halls of the Sports Arena when she was approached by an opportunist Cass Baumer. Sam was only too happy to answer her questions as Cass fired off a couple about her opponents tonight. She then asked, rather boldly, whether Tolson thought she was deserving of her shot at the CWC World Title. Tolson gave a modest response, saying that she was surprised to be given the opportunity, but she was going to give it her all, and hopefully return to HPW with the belt around her waist. Cass didn't relent though. She reeled off a few of her potential opponents next week and asked where she would find the confidence from when she had lost both her matches here up to this point. But Tolson was quick to assert that Arcane had handpicked her for the match, and that in itself was enough to boost her confidence ahead of the match. Both women then exchanged pleasantries and went their separate ways.

Both Samantha Tolson and Lizzie Jones received rousing ovations from the fans in attendance, while boos rained down on their opponents for the night, Lexxi D. Vine and Bianca Davis. While the latter divas squabbled over which of them is front and center in the pre-match selfie, Sam and Lizzie devised strategy in the opposite corner. The match started with Lizzie and Bianca locking up; the former took Miss Hollywood down and pounced onto her with forearm shots. She whipped Bianca onto the ropes but was knocked down with a running knee lift on the return. Bianca tagged in Lexxi but before the former left the ring, she joined Daddy's Little Princess in stomping Lizzie in the corner. Lexxi clamped in a headlock but Lizzie powered out of it and slammed her with a back suplex. She made the tag to Samantha Tolson, who vaulted over the ropes with a splash for a near fall. Tolson then went on a suplex tear, hitting three German's in a row on a shrieking Lexxi, before whipping her into the corner and calling for the Nihon e no ōdo (Ode to Japan). Bianca managed to pull Lexxi out to ringside just as the strikes started flying. This gave Lexxi a chance to recover before tagging Bianca back in. Neither looked too keen on squaring up with The Hardcore Queen of Suplex Nation. Davis feigned a lockup then thumbed Tolson in the eye before delivering a hair pull backbreaker for a near fall. Bianca whipped Sam into the corner and laid into her with kicks to the mid-section, while Lexxi sneaked some elbow shots in too. Miss Hollywood hoisted Sam up onto her shoulders, looking for the Beauty Sleep (Go To Sleep) but Tolson transitioned into a snap DDT. She made the tag to Lizzie Jones, while Bianca did the same with Lexxi. Lizzie exploded on Daddy's Little Princess with several clotheslines one after the other and then a reverse DDT. Bianca charged back in but Sam ducked her oncoming attack and slammed her with the Nightfall (Taz-mission-plex) and kept the choke-hold locked in. While Bianca tapped frantically, Lizzie hit Lexxi - the legal woman - with the Botox Breaker (Unprettier) for the three count.

WINNERS: SAMANTHA TOLSON & LIZZIE JONES

We cut to backstage where once more Charles Fischer was waiting behind the curtain. Lexxi and Bianca walked in from the arena looking deflated. Fischer stopped them in their tracks. ‘Girls, put that loss behind you,' he said. 'At the end of the day you're both ‘two and o’ in singles matches. You’ve shown you can do it alone with no problems, so I'm giving you both golden opportunities. Lexxi, next week you'll be going one on one with Eryn Tyme for the Women's Championship. She had three good women out there in the ring tonight and she still came away with that goddamn belt. So I don't care how you do it, just come away from United We Stand with that championship.’

‘Bianca, I'm giving you a shot at the Television Title. We don't know who that is against right now, but quite frankly I don't want that belt on any one of those men longer than it needs to be. The fans want to see Hollywood belts on Hollywood people. And so do I. So don't let me down.’ They both nodded in agreement as the cameras cut back to ringside.

We returned to ringside and the five competitors in the Television Championship match were already in the ring: Broken McLaughlin, Kenny Sex, Finch Maruta, Daniel Corvin and The Nomad. The bell rang, Finch and Kenny immediately hit double dropkicks to the knees of Corvin. Meanwhile, Broken McLaughlin started brawling with The Nomad. Their frenzied strikes sent them both tumbling through the ropes. Kenny drilled Corvin with a DDT and went for a quick fall but Finch broke it with a legdrop. The alliance between Kenny and Finch had quickly deteriorated and the two traded punches, until Corvin struck the back of Finch's head with a spinning backfist. Sex advanced but Corvin slipped behind him to hit a bridging German suplex. Kenny just managed to kick out. Meanwhile, Broken and Nomad fought at ringside; the vagrant bounced Broken's head off the steel steps and then whipped him into the barricade. As he charged, Broken flipped him up and into the front row. Broken rolled back into the ring but straight into a big boot from The Prince of Darkness. As Corvin turned back round, Finch hit a double knee facebuster but Kenny Sex broke up the pin. The lover-man tossed Maruta out onto the apron and went back to seemingly finish off Corvin with the Sex Drive (Fire Thunder Driver), but before he could make the cover, Finch smashed into him with a springboard corkscrew European uppercut. This time, Broken stopped the pin with a punt kick to Finch's head. He ducked just in time as The Nomad swung a massive haymaker, instead dropping the referee. Nomad went for his empty bottle laid under the turnbuckle but Broken caught him with a Triple Thick Milkshake Superkick in the corner. Nomad slumped to the floor, while Finch came soaring off another turnbuckle with a flying splash. Broken caught him and transitioned into a stunning McDouble (F5 into a double knee gutbuster). The referee woke just in time to count to three, as both Sex and Corvin frantically dove towards him to try and break the pin. It was too late, Broken had secured a historic victory but made a quick exit up the ramp way, clutching his newly won championship.

WINNER, AND NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION: BROKEN MCLAUGHLIN

Dylan Styles looked particularly pleased with himself as he came out to into the arena. He pointed to the outside of the ring and shrugged his shoulders but as he did so Finch Maruta's music began to play as he came out onto the ramp way with a microphone in hand.

Finch Maruta:
"Dylan, all everybody wants to see in that ring is a fair fight. No count outs, no interference, no disqualifications. But Charles Fischer said anybody that came out here tonight and ensured that took place would be fired."

Dylan nodded his head approvingly at the last part of his statement, and motioned for him to leave.

Finch Maruta:
"Well let's see if he's got the minerals to fire half his roster one week before United We Stand.."

Out from back came what appeared to be the half the locker room as Kenny Sex, Eryn Tyme, Samantha Tolson, Lizzie Jones, Josh Kennedy and Jess Anderson all walked out onto the rampway. Wulf Erikson then made his entrance. Maruta slapped him on the back as he thanked his fellow wrestlers for their support.

It had been a long time coming but at long last Wulf Erikson and Dylan Styles stood across the ring from one another for the biggest prize in Hollywood Pro. As Sienna Richards took the belt from Dylan to parade it he hung on for a few extra seconds, as though he sensed it may not return to his clutches. He gave the air of a man who had bitten off more than he could chew but was defiantly trying not to let on, pacing around the ring as Wulf stood calm and focused, like a man that was in control of his own destiny. Once the bell rang the crowd cheered as the two locked up and tussled across the canvas. Neither man held back as Wulf let out all the frustration that had built up in his road to this destination. Dylan was a mass of flailing arms and kicks - a man with everything to lose, but was unwilling to do so. But the superior Erikson quickly had control of the match. After a double underhook backbreaker he tossed Dylan to the outside right into the path of Kenny Sex. Sex didn't waste time in picking him up by the scruff of the neck and launching him back into the ring. The crowd really enjoyed this, and were really getting into things. Dylan was waiting on the ropes for his opponent to rise and hit him flying through the ropes with a missile dropkick, where the lumberjacks were on hand once more. Samantha Tolson and Lizzie Jones rubbed their hands together jokingly and grabbed him by the tights and tossed him back into the Wulf’s lair. Dylan jumped to his feet and looked around him, then he looked at Wulf who ordered him to bring it. He nodded his head and removed his gloves to signify that he was prepared to fight, Mano el Mano. The two men came forwards and hit ready to lock up but Styles hit a kick to midsection. He hit a couple suplexes and taunted the men and women around the ring but Wulf kept getting to his feet. Styles had his tail up and was looking to end the match but Wulf caught him off guard with an arm drag. As Styles climbed to his feet Erikson hit a German Suplex, followed by another. He went for the third but Styles saw it coming and hit a couple of elbows him in the face. He lifted Wulf onto his shoulders going for the Paycheck (Go to Sleep) but Wulf wriggled free and stunned everybody with his own finisher, At Wits End (Lightning Spiral)!! The Referee made the three count as Wulfs music hit the speaker system.

WINNER, AND NEW HPW CHAMPION: WULF ERIKSON

The crowd went wild as The Silver Bullet climbed to his feet and was immediately swamped by his fellow wrestlers. The Referee fought through the sea of people to hand him the belt as he Finch Maruta and Kenny Sex lifted him onto their shoulders. Wulf raised the belt in the air and the fans cheered but his mood changed when his music was replaced by Daniel Corvin’s. ‘The Prince of Darkness’ came out onto the railway with his Father, Ashe, who had a microphone in hand. He told Wulf to enjoy his victory because his son had just a contract to face him next week at United We Stand. He then passed the mic to his son. ‘Pray you get thirty minutes in heaven, Wulf, before the devil knows you're dead,’ said Daniel. He smiled sadistically as the show came to a close.
