HPW 9: THE REBOOT
LIVE FROM THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM – LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA TUESDAY JUNE 13TH, 2017
The show starts with a pre-taped video outside of the Hollywood Palladium. Chris Callum bursts through a set of double doors, looking furious. He has taken over Hollywood Pro Wrestling on an interim basis for the CWC, and by the looks of it things aren’t starting off well. The camera pans around to reveal Leon Cashmere, a bag over his shoulder, talking to some security guards. Callum demands to know why Cashmere is here, to which Cashmere replies that he is just as welcome here as Callum is. He says that there is no real governing body of the CWC, and that Callum took this Hollywood job simply because he is an egotistical little man who likes to flex his muscle around the CWC. Callum says he came here because he wants to fix the weak spots in CWC, but Cashmere doesn’t buy it. He says that he will fly out to Los Angeles every week until a permanent GM is found, and since he and Callum have the same authority within the Coalition, they can work together. Callum says that he doesn’t need any help, and Cashmere says he doesn’t need help either. Cashmere says he will make sure Callum doesn’t try the same bullshit that he did in Blue Collar Wrestling a few months ago. The two have a standoff for a while before Cashmere makes his way inside the building, leaving Callum outside in a huff.
We fade into the opening video package and the announcers introduce this huge show before we cut down to the ring ready for the action to begin.

#1 Contendership – HPW Television Championship (Six Pack Challenge)
Azul34, David Mendes, Hammerstein, Jack Tillman, The Nomad, and Vertigo are all in the ring ready to get the first six pack challenge started with a shot at the HPW Television Championship on the line. With one fall to a finish, they begin with a big brawl that ends up with Hammerstein and Mendes out of the ring. Azul backs The Nomad into the corner and connects with a monkey flip, and his partner Vertigo seals the deal with an elbow drop. Tillman is in to break it up, but Azul is quick to capitalize with a reverse DDT. Mendes is back in the ring targeting Azul, but Vertigo makes the save and the two send Mendes back down with a double suplex. Hammerstein rushes the ring and levels both men with a double clothesline before directing his attention to The Nomad. The two brawl for a while until Tillman gets involved and manages to kick Nomad in the gut and connect with a devastating piledriver. He goes for the pin, but Hammerstein breaks it up and tosses Tillman out of the ring. Mendes chop blocks Hammerstein and connects with a pumphandle slam. 1…2…NO! Azul and Vertigo get Mendes on both sides with double low dropkicks. They look like they are about to fight, but Tillman is back in the ring and tosses them both out. He turns towards Hammerstein.
After Hammerstein is pulled up, he and Tillman begin to trade blows, but Hammerstein gets the advantage. He hits an atomic drop before getting ready to connect with Droppin Da Hammer. He connects! Tillman is in trouble! 1…2…MENDES BREAKS IT UP! Jumping cutter. 1…2…THE NOMAD BREAKS IT UP! The Nomad tosses Mendes out of the ring and looks back to Hammerstein and Tillman. He puts the two of them between his arms and drops down for a double DDT, but they somehow manage to stay on their feet. Tillman is still dazed from the stunner but he manages to hit a low dropkick on Nomad, ensuring he is down for a while. Hammerstein grabs him by the head and tries for a suplex, but Tillman flips out of it and pushes Hammerstein right into a superkick by Vertigo! Tillman charges forward with a European uppercut and takes Vertigo down! Azul slides into the ring but he meets the same fate! Mendes rushes the ring, but Tillman ducks a lariat and manages to lock in The Recluse! Mendes is locked in the crossface, and he has no choice but to tap out! The bell rings and Tillman takes to the top rope to celebrate his victory.
WINNER: JACK TILLMAN (New #1 Contender – HPW Television Championship)
In the back, Cass Baumer is standing with the HPW Champion Daniel Corvin and his father Ashe Corvin. Baumer asks Corvin how he feels about coming up short in the Weekend of Trios event, to which Daniel replies that it is hardly a setback. He says that TPK rigged the whole thing in favor of his Slaughterhouse guys by making it no disqualification, so he doesn’t consider the tournament valid. He says that none of it matters because right now he is focused on retaining his HPW Championship against two pretenders – two men who are nowhere near his level. Daniel and Ashe leave Cass alone in the interview lounge as we cut back to the ring.

#1 Contendership – HPW Women’s Championship (Six Pack Challenge)
Beer Beer Ayano, Bianca Davis, Coco Lobo, Duff Briggs, Lizzie Jones, and Red State Revolver’s Sativa Neveah are in the ring, ready to find out who will become the new number one contender for the HPW Women’s Championship. The match begins with Sativa targeting Lizzie Jones specifically while the other four women brawl for supremacy. Lizzie lands some sharp elbows on Sativa and backs her into the corner, but Sativa rakes the eyes and eventually sends her down to the mat by the hair. On the other side of the ring Coco Lobo has tosses Bianca Davis to the outside, and nails her with a springboard crossbody that wows the crowd. Ayano and Briggs are trading hard shots back and forth before Sativa breaks it up with a right hand of her own. She takes control until Lizzie Jones swoops behind her and connects with a german suplex. 1…Ayano is there to break it up. Ayano hits a Russian legsweep and Duff Briggs stomps on Lizzie’s arm. Ayano and Briggs team up to toss Lizzie out of the ring and they look like they have control until Coco Lobo inserts herself into the match by connecting with a running double bulldog. She covers Ayano. 1…2…Kickout! Sativa is there to pull Coco up by the hair and toss her out of the ring.
Bianca Davis makes her way back into the fold by chop blocking Sativa. She shoots for Coronation, but Lizzie pulls Sativa out of the ring just in time. She gets in herself and begins trading shots with Bianca. Lizzie gets the upperhand here, and immediately tries to lock in a fujiwara armbar, but Bianca gets out of the ring. Coco rushes inside with a hurricanrana. He gets a few good lariats in on Lizzie and then sets her down with a fireman’s carry snapmare driver. Coco sees that the ring is clear and heads to the top rope, ready to connect with Tequila Mockingbird. She jumps, and hits it! 1…2…SATIVA BREAKS IT UP. She locks in Nighty Night on Coco as Lizzie rolls out of the ring. Duff Briggs gets inside to break up the submission, but Bianca Davis is back in and she connects with the Beauty Sleep! She hooks the leg. 1…2…3…COCO TAPS! The bell rings and Bianca Davis is declared the winner of the match, but Sativa is furious because she believes Coco tapped to her submission first.
Leon Cashmere makes his way to the ring. He instructs the referee to look at the big screen and determine who wins the match! After reviewing the video footage, it is determined that Coco started to tap the moment the referee touched the mat to count Briggs’ pin. He informs the referee, and is decided that both Sativa Neveah and Bianca Davis are the new number one contenders for the HPW Women’s Championship. They come face to face as the crowd has dueling chants with the HPW faithful wanting Bianca, and everyone who hates Bianca cheering for Sativa.
WINNER(s): BIANCA DAVIS & SATIVA NEVEAH (New #1 Contender – HPW Women’s Championship)
In the back, we see Cass Baumer standing with Finch Maruta, the man who will challenge Kenny Sex for the CWC United States Championship later tonight. Finch explains that he has a lot of respect for Kenny, and that no matter what happens tonight he is glad to have the opportunity to step back into the ring with his friend. Cass asks if he wants to win tonight, or if it’s all about the competition. Finch makes it clear that he needs this win. He talks about all of the times he has come close to becoming a champion in CWC and in HPW, but fallen short each time. He says that the Junior Heavyweight Championship loss hurts the most, and that he wants more than anything to represent HPW as he travels around the world to defend the belt. He is interrupted by Dylan Styles. Dylan says that tonight he is going to regain the HPW Championship, but that lately he has been thinking bigger. He says that a star of his stature is too big for Hollywood, and that it is time to take his brand around the world. He tells Finch that whoever wins the CWC United States title tonight, he is the man who is next in line. Styles leaves Finch and Cass and we cut down to the ring.

HPW Tag Team Championship
With all three teams in the ring and the tag team championships suspended high above, the bell rings and we are off! Lyra and Eric charge Tiger Mask Red and Reptilian while Montana Shane berates Dakota for not getting the jump on their opponents. TMR gets a stiff kick from Lyra, but Reptilian manages to get Eric over the top rope. Lyra and Reptilian go back and forth for a while before both of the Shane Sisters team up and toss both of them out of the ring. Dakota chases after one set while Montana chases after the other, and Lyra is quickly tossed into the steps by Dakota while TMR is tossed into the announce table by Montana. They both go for ladders, but Reptilian grabs the ladder from Dakota and pushes her into the ring with it. Eric snatches the ladder from Montana and swings, clocking her on the side of the head. Both ladders end up in the ring, as well as Eric and Reptilian. They trade blows for a while and Reptilian takes an exploder suplex onto the ladder! Eric puts one of the ladders up in the middle of the ring, but TMR is there to grab his foot before he makes it too far. TMR drags him off of the ladder, grating his head on the way down, before sending him down to the mat with a snap DDT. Tiger Mask begins climbing the ladder, but Lyra is back in the ring now. She climbs to the top to meet him there and they start trading blows, but Dakota is in the ring to tip the ladder and send them both to the outside! Dakota straightens the ladder and begins climbing up. Reptilian is beginning to stir, and this takes her attention long enough for Eric Donavan to climb in the ring, grab Dakota, and german suplex her onto the mat!
Everyone was down as Montana slid into the ring and set up the ladder once again. She made her way to the halfway mark when Reptilian had her by the ankle. She let out a big scream before he pulled her down and tossed her out of the ring, but she landed on the apron. She met him with a big forearm, but the luchadore caught her with VENOM SAC, a buzzsaw kick, on the rebound, sending Montana to the floor. Reptilian looked at the ladder and began setting it up, but Lyra was back in the ring. She took control and went for the Soul of Vengeance, but Reptilian twisted out of it, right into an Irish Lariat by Eric Donavan! Eric told Lyra to climb the ladder while he played defense. Tiger Mask Red made his way into the ring, but Eric was on top of it. Tiger Mask ended up on the apron while Lyra went up the ladder, and he necked Donavan. But Donavan rushed forward with another Irish Lariat that sent them both to the outside. Lyra was reaching for the belts when Dakota Shane rushed into the ring! She climbed the ladder as quickly as she could and started trading shots with Lyra! Both women had their hands on the belts, and with no other option, The Queen of Sleaze did what she does best – she kissed Lyra, catching her off guard, and then knocked her off of the ladder with a big forearm. Dakota reached up top and took down the title belts!
The Shane Family came running down the ramp to congratulate Dakota on the victory! Montana sat on the outside, holding her jaw from the kick. After a while, she made her way into the ring, had a staredown with Dakota, and then snatched her title away, moving to the top rope to hold it high. We don’t know how well these sisters will work together, but for now they are the HPW Tag Team Champions.
WINNERS: DAKOTA & MONTANA SHANE (New HPW Tag Team Champions)
The scene fades into a room containing Jessica Anderson. On the wall behind her hangs the Union flag.
JESSICA ANDERSON: “Hey everyone. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you all tonight, but I've got other commitments. I'll be using the time off to do some thinking. Things haven't been going well for me recently, and I'm not going to allow that trend to continue.”
Jessica looks around her as she takes a brief pause.
JESSICA ANDERSON: “Coming back home has allowed me to put a few things into perspective. It's helped me focus, and decide what I really want. So next week, when I return to Hollywood Pro, I will be back with a purpose. I'll see you soon!”
The camera zooms out, and we arrive in the HPW interview lounge where Coco Lobo is standing with Cass Baumer. Coco is furious that Jessica Anderson didn’t show up tonight, because if she did, Sativa would have never been in the match and Coco wouldn’t have been tapped out. Cass asks her to explain, and Coco says that she spent all week preparing for Anderson, and Sativa caught her off guard. Coco closes the interview by saying that she will make sure Anderson’s only ‘purpose’ is to a take a loss next week.

HPW Television Championship
Rachel Redding seems unphased by Bryan Laughlin’s new look, which makes sense because she has seen a lot of difference faces of Laughlin since joining Hollywood Pro. The bell rings and Laughlin quickly uses his size to take control of the match. He pushes Redding against the ropes and sends her down with a big boot followed by a quick pin that she gets out of quickly. Laughlin continues to wear her down before Redding gets a chop block at the perfect time followed by a snap DDT. Redding uses her striking ability to get control of the match, and Laughlin’s eyes are clearly glazed over underneath all of the paint. Redding gets one more swift kick to the chest in before Laughlin falls outside the ring. Redding taunts him from inside, begging for him to man up and get back into the ring. Laughlin just smiles and laughs. The match has been going for barely five minutes now as he paces around the outside of the ring, contemplating something. The count gets to about seven before Laughlin finally raises his arms high into the air, and the entire arena goes black.
The crowd freaks out for a while, but when the lights come on, Rachel Redding is surrounded by The Robot and The Botanist’s Experiment. She looks at both of them, confused, and then back to Laughlin before she lets out a big laugh. The referee is unsure of what to do. On the outside of the ring, Laughlin brings his arms together and, immediately, The Botanist’s Experiment and The Robot pounce on Redding, resulting in a DQ. She fights them off for a while, but eventually size and strength of the monsters bring the altercation in their favor. They manage to get Rachel down with a double chokeslam before Laughlin enters the ring once again. He holds the TV Championship into the air, and after a moment, the lights go black once again. When they come back on, Redding is in the ring trying to sit back up and the crowd is completely shocked and horrified at what they just witnessed.
WINNER: RACHEL REDDING [DQ] (Bryan Laughlin is Still HPW Television Champion)
After Laughlin’s shenanigans, we cut to the back where the number one contender for the HPW Television Championship, Jack Tillman, is standing watching the action in the ring with his manager Chris Constantine. Tillman goes on a rant about how Laughlin and his ‘monsters’ are making a mockery of the wrestling business. Constantine clearly agrees with his client, but watches the screen carefully instead of getting sucked up by the emotion. Tillman, however, being younger, decided to carry on. He says that next week he is going to rip out Laughlin’s shoulder so he has to go on the shelf. Constantine tells his client to channel the energy for the match next week, and that he will talk to Callum and Cashmere about making sure that the monsters stay under control.

CWC United States Championship
With Finch Maruta and Kenny Sex both in the ring, the referee holds the CWC United States Championship high into the air, and then the bell rings. The two friends meet in the middle of the ring to share a handshake before they both bounce back to their corners. They charge for the middle of the ring and Kenny overpowers Maruta and locks him into a headlock. Maruta counters with an armbar, but Sex punches his way out of it. Sex misses with a big boot and Maruta counters with a rollup attempt. 1…2…KICKOUT. Sex catches Maruta with a drop toe hold. Sex spins around and has a little fun by humping his opponent, but Finch squirms to freedom quickly. The two share a laugh before getting back to the match, this time more focused.
After more back and forth, Kenny levels Maruta with a big DDT but it only gets a two count. He locks in a chinlock and Finch has to use fan support to fight his way out it. Finch musters all of his strength and is able to lift Kenny and connect with a back suplex. Maruta picked up the pace with some high flying moves, including a flying leg lariat and a springboard back elbow. He felt that he was in a good position to finish the match with a double knee facebreaker, but Kenny pushed him off moments before disaster. Kenny missed a stomp and Maruta got to his feet, but ran right into a left hand by Kenny. Kenny locked in the Ball Claw, and the referee quickly forced him to break the hold. Maruta fell down to one knee, allowing Kenny to stick a big boot right in his face. Kenny connected with a running senton and went for the pin. 1…2…KICKOUT!
Kenny stayed on Maruta with a series of standing submissions, but Maruta fought hard to elbow his way out of danger. Maruta got a high kick off in time to send Kenny staggering back. He hit a hurricanrana that sent Kenny into the ropes, and then a dropkick that sent him into the corner. Maruta took a big breath and then charged forward, only to meet a boot from Kenny. The US Champion hit a drop toehold to bash Maruta’s face into the top turnbuckle. He climbs to the top and motioned to the crowd that he was going for the Sexiest Elbow Ever. The big man jumped from the top rope, but Maruta rolled out of the way! Maruta got to his feet and waited, and then bounced off of the ropes for a springboard European uppercut! The move connected! Finch went for the cover! 1…2…3! That was it!
Finch was handed the CWC United States Championship and he held it high. When he was finished celebrating, he turned back to Kenny and gave him a big hug. Kenny raised Finch’s hand and then vacated the ring so that Finch could continue celebrating this huge moment in his career.
WINNER: FINCH MARUTA (New CWC United States Champion)
Chris Constantine has made his way to the General Manager’s office where Leon Cashmere is sitting smugly behind the desk and Callum on the side in a foldup chair. He explains that he won’t let his client compete against a madman who has no qualms about getting disqualified to defend the championship. Cashmere agrees that Laughlin was out of line tonight, and that was when Rachel Redding made her way into the office. She was obviously furious about what Laughlin had done, and demanded a rematch for the Television title next week with the monsters barred from ringside. Callum steps in and says that both Redding and Tillman have claims to the TV title right now, so next week he is going to make Redding face The Robot and Tillman face The Botantist’s Experiment. He says that if both wrestlers win, they will qualify to face Laughlin the next week in a title match. Constantine is furious, saying that Tillman already earned a title shot. Callum says that if Tillman loses to The Botanist’s Experiment, he doesn’t deserve to be champion anyway. Cashmere agrees with Callum and says that the title match in two weeks against Laughlin will be a cage match, so no monsters can get involved. Both Redding and Constantine left the room unsatisfied, but the matches were booked. We fade to the ring.

HPW Women’s Championship
The match began with Samantha and Eryn battling each other with strike after strike. Clearly angry, Tolson began to take control and soon started to show her suplex expertise, easily throwing Eryn around the ring until Lexxi finally decided to intervene, levelling her with a roundhouse kick as she went for a brainbuster. Lexxi kept up the assault and the numbers soon worked against Tolson, with Eryn joining Lexxi and both women happily piling on the pain onto Tolson with kicks, stomps and punches. As Eryn worked her over more, Lexxi stepped back, blasting the former women's champ in the back of the head with a forearm shot. Eryn staggered forward and, perhaps out of instinct alone, countered with a superkick that saw Lexxi drop to the mat.
With both opponents downed, Eryn climbed the turnbuckle - only to see Tolson dive and hit the ropes, forcing Eryn into a seated position on the corner. Sam moved to attempt a superplex, but Lexxi intervened, managing to throw both Sam and Eryn with the same move before dropping to her knees, taking a moment to recover. Sam stirred first and Lexxi stood. As Sam took a swing, Lexxi ducked and countered with LexPlex, but Sam kicked out at two. Frustrated, Lexxi stood, pulling at her own hair.
Eryn tried to get to her feet but Lexxi was too quick and charged across the ring, scoring her H8rmin8r curb stomp. Sam rolled to her knees and tried to stand. Lexxi charged at her too but Sam was too fast, the second H8rmin8r missing. Sam caught Lexxi with a belly-to-belly suplex on the rebound and looked to execute her Victory Drop Alpha, only for Lexxi to break free with a back body drop.
Suddenly Lizzie Jones rushed out, earning a loud chrous of jeers from the fans. Once at ringside she shoved the time keeper from his seat and folded the chair, taking it into the ring. She yelled at Lexxi to stay the hell back. The women's champion initially hesitated but then smirked as she realized that Lizzie was stalking Sam, not her, and she stepped out of the way, ready to see the carnage unfold. The booing reached a fever pitch as Lizzie raised the chair, only to turn and slam it down onto Lexxi's forehead!! For a brief moment a stunned hush fell over the crowd before people began asking what was going on, with some still booing and others now cheering. The referee watched on, powerless due to there being no disqualifications in a triple threat.
Lexxi flopped to the mat - the unforseen attack finding its mark and the women's champion seemingly knocked out cold. On the opposite side of the ring, Eryn stood, only to similarly eat a chair shot to the head. Lizzie stood over Sam, who looked up, clutching at Lizzie's boot. Jones lifted the chair...and then dropped it behind her, smirking. She dragged Sam over to Eryn, initiating a pin. The glassy eyed Sam stared at Lizzie as the referee counted to three.
Lizzie nodded and dropped from the ring to the outside as the referee handed Samantha her newly won title. Clearly both confused and dazed, Sam stood, eyes never shifting from Lizzie. As she ascended the entrance ramp, Jones looked back, shrugging. She could clearly be heard saying "sorry".
WINNER: SAMANTHA TOLSON (New HPW Women’s Champion)
Before the main event, we cut to the back where Dakota and Montana Shane, the new HPW Tag Team Champions, are in the midst of an argument. It is a lot of the usual insults, with Montana finding a flaw in Dakota’s performance once again even though she was the one who secured the tag belts for them. Dakota shouts that enough is enough. She says that she is sick and tired of Montana, and the only way to settle this is in the ring. She formally challenges Montana to a match next week, and Montana accepts. Hopefully this will be the end of the sibling rivalry. We cut down to the ring.

HPW Championship
"Home Sweet Hell" by Susperia gets us started for the main event as Wulf Erikson is out to a rousing cheer by the HPW faithful. Wulf motions around his waist that he’ll have a championship around his waist soon enough as he flips into the ring in his neon tights and gets up on the second rope and motions for the crowd to get louder. Those cheers turn to boos as “I Stand Alone” hits and Dylan Styles is out. He banters all the way down to the ring to..Well…Himself as he points to himself a few times to let the people know who will be walking away with the title. He gets to the ring and squares off with Wulf and gets in his face and the referee has to step between them."Insanity Syndrome" by The Enigma TNG hits and Daniel Corvin is out as he looks cockily down at the title on his waist. He slides into the ring and the referee signals for the bell.
The three men circle one another before Styles and Corvin decide to target Wulf, this draws a loud boo from the Wulf fans in the arena. Wulf doubles over, Corvin and Styles send Wulf into the ropes and go for a clothesline, Wulf ducks it and Styles and Corvin whip around to see Wulf firing back at them. They try and throw him with a dueling hip toss but the flippy fiend lands on his feet and leaps into the air with a pele kick to both men—one with each foot as they go stumbling back into the ropes. Wulf rushes forward and clotheslines them both over the top rope. Styles and Corvin cling on to one another and tries to get to their feet as Wulf claps to get the crowd going. He nods along with the rhythm and then bounds off the opposite ropes, he steps up on the middle rope and then the top rope before diving off with a seton. The crowd gasps as Corvin grabs Styles and shoves him in the way, Wulf crashes into him and is out, Corvin grabs Styles and rolls him back into the ring and makes the cover! Corvin is angry he only gets a two count.
Wulf is back on the apron and he springboards into the ring but Corvin catches him with a powerslam! He hooks the leg and Wulf kicks out at two as well! Corvin gets up pissed but he turns right around to Dylan Styles! Styles throws a few forearms to Corvin, he lifts Corvin up for the PAYCHECK! (Go to sleep), Corvin is down! Styles dives for the cover and only gets a two as Wulf comes in to break it up. All three men are down as the crowd loudly cheers. Wulf and Styles are to their feet as they battle with one another. Corvin rolls out onto the apron as Styles and Erikson exchange shots.
Styles lifts Erikson onto his shoulders and is looking for another paycheck but Wulf fights out. Wulf quickly hooks Styles for a “At Wit's End” (lightning spiral)! Styles is out and Wulf goes to make the cover but before he can Corvin is back in and drops down and gives Wulf a very blatant low blow that the referee can’t do anything about in the triple threat. Wulf doubles over and Corvin hitsThe Glorifier! Wulf is down, Corvin hooks the legs and the tights for good measure as he gets the three count!
Wulf rolls out still holding the family jewels as Styles lays on the outside staring up at the lights wonder what happened as the referee awards Corvin his title belt.
WINNER: DANIEL CORVIN (Still HPW Champion)
After the match, Leon Cashmere and Chris Callum make their way onto the stage. Cashmere says that it is has been a great show and he congratulates Corvin on the title defense tonight. Callum says that while Corvin is the champion, he has been lucky because Charles Fischer made sure that there were only a handful of wrestlers who could really challenge him. He said that Hollywood Pro allowed intergender matches, but for some reason there is still a Women’s Championship. Cashmere chimes in saying that he agrees with Callum on this, and that is why in two weeks there will be a four way match to unify the HPW Championship with the HPW Women’s Championship. It will be Daniel Corvin versus Sam Tolson versus Sativa Neveah vs. Bianca Davis. Callum says that there is no need for separate divisions, and now that everyone is together, the women can stop competing for a fake championship. With Corvin throwing a fit about another multi person defense on the calendar, we fade to black.
