LEGACY 1 - BLAME CHELLE

LIVE FROM YOKOHAMA ARENA, YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
TUESDAY - JUNE 20, 2017

The show opens into the Yokohama Arena and the cameras pan around the venue, capturing the thousands of fans eagerly waiting in anticipation. Austin Craddock, a well-respected wrestler in Japan, walks down to the ring to quite the ovation. He looks around, smiling as the crowd chant “OH AUS-TIN CRAD-DOCK!” repeatedly. He adjusts his tie and prepares to give a speech as though he’s the Leader of the Opposition. He begins to explain how the death of his long-time best friend, Randall Evans, inspired him to one day set up a wrestling promotion, and exactly what he plans to bring to Legacy.

He then begins to run down the card for the night, giving a bit of information on each of the matches. He points out that while only the winners of the night’s matches can qualify for next week’s Rising Sun Championship match, those unsuccessful should not be deterred as future opportunities could very well come their way.

MATCH 1: TRIPLE THREAT
TIGER MASK RED vs. MASON WOLFE vs. TADASHI

The road to crowning the first ever Rising Sun Champion officially begins, and in Illustrious fashion, Mason Wolfe wastes little time taunting his opponents. The match is under way, and TADASHI immediately makes an impact by Yakuza kicking Wolfe out of the ring. Tiger Mask Red attacks from behind, and beats down “The Kumicho” in front of his home crowd. Tiger hits a triple rolling suplex, followed up by a brainbuster! He attempts the cover, but TADASHI kicks out. Wolfe has re-entered the fray, and there seems to be some sort of alliance forming between Wolfe and Tiger, as both men now proceed to beat down TADASHI in the corner. Wolfe hits the “Thrill of the Hunt” and attempts a sly pinfall while Tiger’s back is turned, but stops as soon as he turns around. Tiger and Wolfe are now arguing, Wolfe attempts a cheap shot but Tiger counters. Tiger sets up for the Tiger Suplex, but Wolfe reverses and attempts to hit “Hollow Point”, but Tiger rolls him up with an inside cradle. Wolfe kicks out at 2, and is hit with the “Boyame” as soon as he gets to his feet, causing him to fall outside the ring again. Back to just Tiger and TADASHI now, as both men trade blows in the middle of the ring, the fans cheering TADASHI, booing Tiger Mask Red. This continues for a minute before Tiger Mask Red attempts to hit the Tiger Suplex once again, but TADASHI counters and hits the “Brand New Single” on Tiger and goes for the cover, but he’s pulled out of the ring at two and three quarters by Wolfe, who Irish whips him into the barricade. Wolfe gets back into the ring and steals the victory from TADASHI. Mason Wolfe is the first man to advance to the Rising Sun Championship match. The crowd is certainly not pleased with how this one played out, as Wolfe taunts them in the centre of the ring.

Winner: Mason Wolfe (Time: 10:51)

MATCH 2: FATAL FOUR WAY

MARK STORM vs. ZACK RICHARDS vs. SASORI SAITO vs. HIROKAI YOKOZA

The second Rising Sun Qualifier of the evening begins, and it’s safe to say that Hirokai Yokoza is the firm fan favourite. The match starts off very even, with all four competitors trading blows and getting an equal amount of offence. Mark Storm and Sasori Saito engage one another, while Zack Richards and Hirokai Yokoza opt for a traditional collar-and-elbow. The pairs change up, however, after Sasori charges towards Zack Richards. Nobody can seemingly gain an advantage, with the momentum changing constantly. Eventually, though, Sasori seemingly gains the upperhand, managing to take out all three opponents with her metal bokken. The crowd seem displeased with her tactics, but under fatal four way rules, there are no disqualifications. She proceeds to work over her opponents, applying a variety of different moves to hurt them. However, when it seems as though Hirokai Yokoza is about to pass out to a chokehold, Mark Storm saves the match by springboarding off the ropes and hitting Storm Search on her, causing her to break the hold. She rolls out of the ring, not allowing Mark any time to capitalise. Zack richards re-enters the fold, and he and Mark briefly go at it. Zack eventually gains the upperhand against Mark, taking him down with a T-bone suplex. But Zack doesn’t realise Hirokai is back up, and walks straight into The Hit. This keeps Zack down long enough for the three count, which sees Hirokai Yokoza qualify for the Rising Sun Championship match. Outside the ring, Sasori Saito does not seem best pleased. She felt as though she had the match in the bag, and storms backstage in a huff.

Winner: Hirokai Yokoza (Time: 12:34)

After the match, the cameras follow Sasori Saito backstage. She steps into the hallway and, as she walks round the corner, accidentally brushes shoulders with Essence. Essence, who was on her way to her own match, promptly apologises before gently dusting her off with her hand. Sasori stares daggers through Essence, who offers her hand for a handshake. When Sasori refuses the gesture, Essence shrugs before heading off to get ready for her match. Meanwhile, Sasori’s eyes remain fixed on her.

MATCH 3: FATAL FOUR WAY

ASAHI WATANABE vs. ALYSSA DAVIES vs. REPTILIAN vs. ESSENCE

The third Rising Sun qualifying match begins with Reptilian going right for Essence, while Alyssa and Ashai lock horns. Ashai appears to be getting the upper hand, but foolishly stops to shout “INDEEEEED”, which gets a pop from the crowd. Alyssa takes advantage of this with a quick roll up for the near fall. Meanwhile, Reptilian and Essence are having a wild brawl on the other side of the ring. Essence lands a few nasty forearms into his face before receiving a thumb to the eye. Reptilian kicks her off and begins stomping viciously. A quick hiss at the crowd and he turns his attention to the other two combatants in the match. Ashai notices his presence, and sprints towards him but gets hit with nicely executed dropkick. Alyssa, not one to be intimidated so easily, has a brief stare down with him before the two battle it out. She hits him with a roundhouse kick before attempting a cover, unfortunately he kicks out. She picks him back up, and connects with a Fujiwara armbar, with is then beautifully transitioned into a triangle choke. Just as it seems Reptilian is about to tap, Essence rushes in and stops it from happening with a discus elbow smash. Essence attempts a cover, but Ashai breaks it up. Ashai, proud of his work, turns around is hit with a “VENOM SAC” from Reptilian! Ashai is out cold! Before Reptilian can attempt a cover, Alyssa hits him with a snap swinging neckbreaker, before she can attempt to pin him however, Essence hits her with a bicycle kick! Alyssa falls out of the ring, leaving Essence the only one standing. She locks an arm trapped seated cloverleaf on Ashai, and he taps out!

Winner: Essence (Time: 09:23)

MATCH 4: FATAL FOUR WAY

BIG BANTER vs. ALISA RUTSKAYA vs. OCULTA SANTOS vs. LAURA ALBRIGHT

With the penultimate qualifying spot up for grabs, it’s important for each of these for competitors to win this match - and they certainly intend to do so. All four competitors charge at one another, throwing fists and forearms just hoping to gain an advantage. Each competitor would eventually take it in turns to control the tempo of the match, starting with Laura Albright. She would connect with several European uppercuts and jumping knee strikes, managing to land a succession of two counts. However, when she locked in a crossface on Alisa Rutskaya, it opened up an opportunity for both Big Banter and Oculta Santos to break the hold, as they each grabbed an ankle and yanked her off. This time, it was Oculta taking control of the match. He used a variety of heavy hitting moves to take down his opponents, including spinebusters and samoan drops. But his mistake came after he powerbombed Big Banter onto the edge of the apron, as he readied himself for Malevolence. Laura Albright would sneak in behind and take him down with a slingshot DDT, but before she could capitalise she would fall victim to Alisa’s Siberian punishment superkick. While she would only manage a count of two, this put Alisa firmly in control. With all three opponents down, she started toying with them with a plethora of moves, each as painful as the next. She even managed to lock in her Lotus Lock finisher, and victory seemed certain from that point. However, Laura Albright managed to hold on long enough for Oculta Santos to break the hold. He would take Alisa down with a belly-to-belly suplex, before locking her in a sharpshooter. Just as she was about to tap out, Big Banter would save her, and the match, with a Big Banter Boot out of nowhere. Oculta Santos would roll out of the ring, however, Alisa Rutskaya would remain in it, struggling to recover from the sharpshooter. Big Banter would take advantage of this, as he would lift her up and drop her with Special K. Despite Albright’s best efforts, she could not quite make it into the ring in time to break the pin. Big Banter qualifies for the Rising Sun Championship match, leaving each of the other three competitors to have to try again in the battle royal.

Winner: Big Banter (Time: 16:57)

Before the battle royal can get underway, Austin enters the ring again. He announces that the usual twenty minute time limit has been abolished for the battle royal, as it is vital that there is a clear winner. He then also goes onto reveal that the Rising Sun Championship match at Legacy #2 will be contested under elimination rules, and stresses that as it is important to crown a Rising Sun Champion next week, there will again be no time limit.

He pulls the Championship out of a bag and rests it on a table at ringside. Austin explains that the Rising Sun Championship is the richest prize in all of Legacy, and that the holder of the Championship will be considered as the best in the promotion. He reminds everyone of the four who were victorious earlier in the night, and assures the crowd that they will all be watching the battle royal very closely.

Then, he welcomes out the individuals who were unsuccessful earlier in the night. They are then joined by the newest members of the Japan: Legacy roster.

MAIN EVENT: BATTLE ROYAL

18 COMPETITORS

The battle royal started when all eighteen contestants were in the ring. Most competitors were in their second matches of the night, but for the rest, this was their first time in a Legacy ring. Slaughterhouse Wrestling’s own Eddy Poe is also making an appearance. Will one third of the World Trios Champions have a target on his back? It doesn’t appear so in the early stages, as everyone charges at each other, frantically trying to avoid elimination. The unlucky person to be eliminated first was Aleks Berzins, who tried to mock the debuting Dabria Rhodes. Dabria took exception to this, knocking Aleks out cold with her superkick finisher. This left her as easy pickings, allowing Dabria to lift her up and fling her over the top rope.

Dabria couldn’t celebrate, though, as she was immediately eliminated herself. Several eliminations followed in quick succession, until ten competitors were left in the ring. At this point, some decided to try to eliminate Eddy Poe. He fought them off as much as he could, but Reptilian and Tiger Mask Red proved to be too much to overcome. They used excellent teamwork to overpower Eddy, and eliminate him. Meanwhile, on the other side, Laura Albright was eliminated by Mark Storm. Laura complained to the referee, before leaving in a huff. He then turned around and started to exchange blows with Yuri Jigoku.

Several minutes passed by without an elimination, though there had been plenty of close shaves. Oculta Da Silva and Oculta Santos work on Mark Storm in the corner, while Reptilian and Tiger Mask Red had Sasori Saito dangling over the ropes, but she somehow managed to hold on. Yuri Jigoku and TADASHI have a brief exchange in the middle of the ring, much to the delight of the crowd. However, this is interrupted by both teams still left in the match. Tiger Mask Red and Reptilian start working away at TADASHI, while Oculta Da Silva and Oculta Santos take it to Yuri. While Yuri somehow managed to eliminate Oculta Da Silva from the match, he couldn't quite manage to do the same to his cousin. With Yuri already on the apron, all it takes is Santos’ Malevolence finisher to send him tumbling. TADASHI had managed to squirm away from Reptilian and Tiger Mask Red, who had instead turned their attentions to Sasori Saito. She held on as long as she could, but eventually the numbers became too much as she too was sent tumbling.

This left four people in the ring, and Mark Storm and TADASHI quickly figured out that they needed to form a temporary alliance to stand any chance. So that’s what they did - and they did it well. Tiger Mask Red and Reptilian were not able to use the numbers to their advantage, as they were each too occupied with their own opponent. Eventually, Reptilian did manage to eliminate Mark Storm. TADASHI saw this from the corner of his eyes, and immediately knew he was in trouble. The two men approached TADASHI, who had the crowd firmly behind him. The pair used tag team strategy to tire TADASHI out, but TADASHI managed to catch a lucky break by somehow sending Reptilian flying over the top rope. Down to the final two, and the crowd were firmly behind the Japanese native. Tiger Mask Red continued to control the pace of the match, but when both men started to fight on the apron, that is when TADASHI managed to eliminate Tiger Mask Red.

Winner: TADASHI (Time: 35:27)

After the match, TADASHI would exit the ring and begin to make his way up the ramp. He would turn reach the stage, only for his four opponents in the Rising Sun Championship match to appear along side him. The five of them would all look at each other, before one-by-one walking off backstage, leaving TADASHI on the stage by himself. The tensions are certainly rising, as Legacy #1 goes off the air.
