STRICTLY COME GRAPPLING
29 June | Club Domain | Blackpool, Lancashire

STROBE LIGHTS. Pounding bass. arms, with drinks at the end of them, in the air. There are so many patrons at the Club Domain tonight that there's hardly any space between them; with the flashing lights, as steady as a heartbeat, the lack of focus makes it look like there's no space between anyone at all. A single-celled party organism. We move through the thick of the party like a dolly shot, zooming between mingling guests and gyrating dancers. The bar is the only gap of humanity in the entire room, lit by the same light as the pulsing strobes.

We pan across the bar, most of the patrons there with their backs to the camera. At the very corner, one patron turns in their stool. It's The Karachi Kid, pint in hand. He rises from his seat and disappears into the crowd.

SMASH CUT onto the dance floor. We push past footloose and fancy-free partiers, the hustle and bustle getting even more overwhelming. The strobe seems to be flashing even faster. Between the lights, some familiar faces in the crowd: Arcane; Osmond Bradley; Thomas Berry; Jared Buxton; Noelle Charpentier. Their faces come and go, as if submerged in a pool of shadow. We pan back to the bar; between the intense crowd, the patrons have been replaced by more of the roster: Ben Haskell; Davey-Boy O'Brien; Archie O'Hara; Delia Davies. On the dance floor, Gav the Chav and Shazza Jade sashay by, in Roaring Twenties-era tux-and-tails and a flapper evening gown, respectively. The strobe lights intensify, and as the crowd seems to become wilder, the indistinct music is drowned out by a singular chant:

P-G-C
P-G-C
P-G-C

CUT TO:
INT. CLUB DOMAIN, BLACKPOOL, CONT.

The thumping, synth-y bassline of "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood sets the tempo for the night as a modest set of lights and pyrotechnics kick-off the show. Club Domain is much different than the Blackpool Tower Circus; while it's only down the street from the Esplanade, the darker, tightly-packed night club offers a closer, more intimate environment for what should be another outstanding show.

First, it's general manager Youssef bin Basri, addressing the events of the last show at the Tower Circus, in and out of the ring. He thanks the audience vociferously for their support, whether this is their first show or not, and especially those watching via CWC Streaming Service; he holds himself personally accountable for the technical delays that harried the premiere of PGC, and vows to ensure a more streamlined viewing experience for any one who demands the highest quality of British professional wrestling. He commends the wrestlers who gave their all to put on a barnstormer of a show, that everyone who came out would shape PGC for the many shows to come, and that their actions, questionable or otherwise, set the bar for the next, and so on. Furthermore, he addressed the actions of Jared Buxton and Holly Chainsaw, two less-than-sportsmanlike competitors who refused to play by PGC's rules. Youssef considers himself a forgiving man, and has placed a rematch for Jared and his opponent, Archie O'Hara, on the card for tonight's show. They'll make a grappler out of young Mr. Buxton yet. On the subject of Holly Chainsaw, and her actions after her match against Andrew Davenport, he weighed his options much more - to have a member of the roster so willing to shelf another over wins and losses was, to him, unacceptable... but Holly did play by the rules when it counted, and provided one hell of a match.

While Youssef is sad to announce that, due to his injuries, Andrew Davenport will not be able to compete tonight, he is happy to announce The Karachi Kid's colour commentator for the night: Andrew Davenport! Manchester's Finest emerges from behind the curtain, arm in a sling, to raucous cheers and applause from the audience, and wasting no time, the show is set to begin.

Thomas Berry VS Cicely Anne Thorn

It’s apparent from the start that Cicely is appraising the enormous stature of her opponent, calculating how best to deal with the fact he almost doubles her weight. Major Tom, on the other hand, is busy warming up the crowd, getting them to clap hands with him, and sing along with him as he treats them to the verse of Chesney Hawkes’ 1991 classic, 'The One and Only'. Tired of Thomas’ antics, the referee calls for the bell, and Cicely takes the opportunity to open up with a clubbing Forearm to the back! Thomas barely flinches, as Cicely follows up with a second and third, Thomas hardly acknowledging them as he turns around to look at Cicely with an inquiring stare. CAT simply shrugs, indicating her size compared to him, with a look of “what’s a girl to do”, to which Thomas concedes a smiling nod, only to be surprised as Cicely fires out a couple of kicks to the calf, chopping away at the tree that is Thomas Berry.

Cicely opens up full pelt, boot after boot into his calf, only to get thrown off by a huge shove! Cicely rolls through the landing, and comes back running, straight into a Spinebuster! Thomas steps off, trying to get some life back into his calf, as Cicely recovers on the mat. Cicely gets up quickly, and manages to connect with a Chop Block to the same calf... but still Thomas doesn’t go down!

As he staggers, Cicely keeps the heat on, slipping around him as she lays in quick jabs and kicks! Thomas manages to push her away again, but she’s straight back in, spinning as she comes, and connects with a Young Lion’s Pride, the Spinning Backfist catching Thomas about the chops and spinning him around! Not wasting a moment, CAT hops up onto his back, and locks in a Piggyback Sleeper Hold! She’s not quite able to lock in a Bodyscissors as Thomas tries to ragdoll her off of him, but she holds on tight! He starts to slow a little, dropping to a single knee... before showing one big burst of energy as he stands again and charges backwards, sandwiching Cicely between him and the corner, to a collective gasp from the crowd!

He staggers forward, she drops to the mat, both fighting for air in their lungs... when the bell rings, signaling the end of the first round!

Whilst waiting for the bell to ring for the second round, Thomas starts clapping his hands, getting the crowd to clap along with him. Pointedly, he doesn’t turn his back on Cicely this time, keeping his eyes locked on her the whole time. As the bell rings, she charges forward. Thomas grabs for her, but she Baseball Slides between his legs, twisting into a sprinter’s start position before he has a chance to spin around, and diving through with another Chop Block! Again, he doesn’t fall, but Cicely doesn’t care, grabbing the leg and pulling it up! Thomas tries to kick her off, but Thorn grabs the rope to stabilise herself! With the referee warning her, she pushes off from the ropes, forcing Thomas to hop back with her if he hopes to stay upright, only to fall victim to a Dragon Screw!

Cicely wastes no time, quickly taking hold of the tree trunk like limb, and locking on an Achilles Lock! Thomas immediately tries to fight off the hold, not allowing Cicely to spin him over, but Thorn has it firmly locked it! After a good minute of trying to shake her off, Thomas lifts his other leg and begins dropping heels into Cicely, over and over, eventually forcing her to relinquish the hold, and allow him to scoot back out of harm’s way. She’s quick to get to her feet, if a little dazed, not wanting to let the pressure stop, whilst Thomas drags himself upright using the ring ropes, heavily favouring the leg.

Thorn charges in, gunning for the leg with a Running Stomp, only to be turned inside out by a huge Lariat out of nowhere! Thomas hobbles through on the leg, still unsure about it, whilst Cicely quickly gets up, not wanting her strategy to fall apart. In she comes again, but a Shoulder Block drops her flat! She’s powerless to resist as Thomas drags her upright with a Wrist Clutch, and drapes her over his shoulders! She starts firing out elbows in desperation, but it’s not enough, as Thomas drops her to the mat with his feared Kajagoogoo Driver, the Death Valley Driver taking a whole chunk of fight out of her. Thomas goes for the pin, but only gets a two!

Knackered, he climbs up to his feet, whilst Cicely remains on the mat, counting stars. Gingerly testing his footing, he bends down, hooking Cicely up in a Powerbomb position! She’s powerless to resist as he deadlifts her up! She tries to fight out, punching at his big bearded head, and although it makes him stagger a little on the weakened leg, it’s not enough to stop him slamming her down to the mat: Ground Control To Major Tom!

He holds on for the pin, bringing his full weight into play as he folds her up, and gets the three to the cheers of the crowd!

WINNER via Pinfall: Thomas Berry (2nd Round, 9:17)

Thomas is already back on leading the chorus of Blackpool club-goers to his theme music when Cicely staggers to her feet, looking bitter in defeat. Thomas turns, and the two stare for a short while... but the big man laughs, and offers out a hand to Cicely, who politely accepts. The two shake in a display of characteristic sportsmanship, and the crowd applauds.

Noelle Charpentier VS Delia Davies

As the bell rings, Charpentier is quick off the mark. Still riding high after her victory over the veteran Wulf Erikssen, Noelle looks to make quick work of Delia, forcing the Cornish rookie back with a barrage of quick kicks. Delia struggles under the assault, but manages to keep her guard up as she gets forced into the ropes, only to be surprised when Noelle suddenly steps up and off the middle rope, connecting with her signature Springboard Enzuigiri, the Head Hunter’s Mark! Delia staggers back, but doesn’t fall, shaking the cobwebs out her head.

Smirking, Charpentier pulls up her finger gun, aiming straight at Delia, looking to put the rookie away quickly, as she charges forward with her Young Death Syndrome... but the Running  Knee flies wide as Delia Disaster dodges it!

Noelle is shocked, managing to roll to her feet and brace herself in the corner, only to be surprised as Delia catches her from behind with a Shiranui!

Noelle is stunned, totally caught by surprised by the move! The Mayor of Kick City sits straight up, trying to catch her breath... only for Delia to pounce, locking her in the Cornwall Clutch! Davies quickly gets her Octopus Hold cinched in, Noelle trapped in the middle of the ring. With nowhere to go, Noelle desperately holds on, trying to last until the end of the round... but Delia ups the torque, twisting in the grip, leaving Charpentier no option but to tap out!

WINNER via Submission: Delia Davies (1st Round, 4:25)

Everyone is stunned at the sudden and decisive victory by the Cornish newcomer, especially Noelle, who staggers out of the ring, trying to process what just happened to her. The look on her face isn't anger, at least not at her opponent, but deep confliction. As the referee raises Delia's arm high, Noelle slinks backstage, obviously deeply concerned.

Ben Haskell VS Wulf Erikssen

The bell rings, and both men quickly tie up at the collar and elbow, and the #BattleOfTheBeard is on! With very little in it between the two competitors, physically, there’s a decent amount of back and forth, as each man jockeys for position. It looks like the veteran Wulf Erikssen is going to be the first to transition to something meaningful, but the former History Teacher shows he’s got his own tricks from his years wrestling part time, and as Wulf throws up his arm to transition to a Top Wristlock, Ben drops his arms low and locks in the Waist Lock! Surprised, Wulf struggles against the hold, but Ben has it firmly locked in, even lifting Wulf off of the ground as he tried to pry his arms free.

Changing tactics, Wulf starts to reach over his shoulder, grasping at Haskell’s head, only for Ben to slip under his arm and catch him in a Cravate! Wulf struggles as Ben tries to add torque on the hold, but the Barroom Hero powers through, forcing his shoulder into Ben’s side whilst still locked in the Cravate, and bringing him over with a huge Saito Suplex!

It’s Wulf who’s on his feet first, as he drags Ben up and sends him running to the ropes, catching him on the return with an Atomic Drop, followed straight up with a Clothesline! Now in control, Wulf connects with an Elbow Drop, hooks a leg, but only gets one!

Undeterred, Wulf is quick to follow up, pulling up Haskell and locking him in a Straightjacket, before hauling him up and over with his Coyote Suplex! He bridges, again looking for the pin, but this time it’s just a two!

Not wanting to relent, Wulf drags Ben up to standing once more, whipping him again, but Ben reverses it! He pulls Wulf into him and lifts him across his chest, before spinning him out into the Manzarek Sandwich, Erikssen catching all of Side Slam Backbreaker before ricocheting off, clutching at his spine. Haskell is quick to follow up, looking to lock in his Morrison Cloverleaf, but is interrupted by the bell calling for the end of the round!

As the bell rings for the second round, Ben moves in quickly, looking to regain the advantage he had at the end of the first, only to Wulf to surprise him as he comes out swinging! Forgoing the technical elements he’d opened the match with, Wulf slipped into his more recognisable brawler mode, forcing Haskell back as he continued to encroach on his personal space with punches and forearms, before slipping behind, locking in another Straightjacket, and leaping up to connect with a Double Knee Backbreaker! With Haskell clutching at his back after the successful Coyote Breaker, Erikssen took a moment to get the crowd going, before coming back, leaning in to drag Haskell upright...

... no! Small Package! Haskell surprises Wulf with a rollup! The referee slides in... and counts the three! Wulf bursts out moments too late, and is in shock and awe that he’s lost the match!

WINNER via Pinfall: Ben Haskell (2nd Round, 6:54)

As Ben celebrates his second straight victory in his young PGC career (now the biggest winning streak in PGC's history, at least until the next returning star picks up a W), Wulf slips out of the ring and backstage without even a look at the fans, disbelief etched over his face, much like Noelle, who he had faced the previous show.

CUT TO:
INT. CLUB DOMAIN, BACKSTAGE AREA, CONT.

We follow Wulf marching past the gorilla position, scooping a beer out of the cooler nearby and cracking it open without a word to anybody around him. He takes a seat on the nearest folding chair and takes a swig of his brew. His eyes are down to the floor, trying to retrace his steps, asking himself what went wrong. A shadow looms over him, and another figure takes a seat right next to him.

It's Holly Chainsaw. She looks a little worse for the wear, as Wulf is quick to note; she's heavily bandaged from the previous Monday, having gone through a plate glass window under circumstances she'd rather not discuss. She has a beer of her own, and while the two have little reason to like or trust one another, they say cheers and down the rest of their drinks. If he's going to carry on like that, Holly says to Wulf, looking down at her drink, he ought to bring back the Wulf that made him the accomplishment veteran he thinks he is. Wulf just stares at his beer. Right now, it's all he can do...

Ace and Crusher VS The Red Hand of Ulster

It’s clear that Connor Fitzroy and Colm Fitzpatrick of the Red Hand have done their research before agreeing to partake in this tag team match, attacking Ace and Crusher before the bell can ring! Laying down strike after strike, the two Northern Irishmen dump Ace over the ropes and onto the floor. Before Crusher can intervene, they drop him with a pair of tandem Clotheslines. With the referee demanding the teams organize themselves and choose a legal man, on the threat of disqualification, the Red Head nod in agreement – with Fitzroy hoisting Fitzpatrick up to stand on his shoulders, and Fitzpatrick diving off Fitzroy for a Moonsault to the outside onto Ace!

With only Crusher and Fitzroy in the ring, the ref calls for the bell, and the match can actually begin. Fitzroy wastes no time to take advantage of the dazed Crusher, stomping away at him as he tries to rise to his feet, bringing him down to his knees. Fitzroy bounds off the ropes and slides into Crusher’s head for a Basement Dropkick, covering for a one count. Meanwhile, Ace and Fitzpatrick still brawl through the ringside area, pushing against the barricades and the crowd in between, absolutely laying into each other.

In the ring, Crusher catches a kick by Fitzroy, trapping his leg and looking to throw him overhead for a Fisherman Suplex… but Fitzroy snakes out from behind him, and takes him down again with a Neckbreaker! He covers, but still only gets a one count, much to his frustration. Fitzroy calls for his partner, who attempts to divert from the beatdown being delivered to Ace, but the veteran has other ideas, and dumps him over the barricade and into the crowd with a Backdrop! Ace staggers to his team’s corner, and while Fitzroy is distracted by the chaos outside the ring, tags in.

Ace whips Fitzroy into the turnbuckle hard, then follows up by whipping Crusher into him for a European Uppercut! As Fitzroy staggers forward in a daze, Crusher slides out of the ring before the ref can give them their first official warning. Ace takes the Northern Irishman’s head clean off with a stiff Lariat, and goes for the cover... but Fitzpatrick slides in just in time to break them up, and the first round ends!

At the second bell, Ace looks to launch right into Fitzroy... but the exhausted member of the Red Hand tags in his partner just before Ace can connect, much to his frustration. Ace and Fitzpatrick continue to lay into each other with hard-hitting strikes and power moves, but to no avail – neither can get a three count from each other. Ace looks to tag in a hungry Crusher, but Fitzpatrick pulls him down for a Schoolboy rollup... holding him down for a Springboard Elbow Drop by Fitzroy! Before a pinfall can be made this time, Crusher charges in with a head full of steam, taking out Fitzroy with a charging Headbutt and launching Fitzpatrick across the ring with an Exploder Suplex! Getting Ace back up to his unsteady feet, Crusher scrambles to pick up Fitzpatrick, whip him off the ropes, pop him up with a Flapjack... but Ace clutches his head, still shaking off the cobwebs. Crusher, exhibiting his tremendous strength, simply catches Fitzpatrick in mid-air like a ragdoll, holding him in a Military Press position, encouraging his partner to snap out of it and finish this match.

Luckily, Ace remembers his role just as Fitzpatrick begins to squirm from Crusher’s grasp. Crusher simply pops him back up, and Ace catches his with his signature Cutter! The Final Dive has struck again, and Ace makes the cover for another victory!

WINNER via Pinfall: Ace and Crusher (2nd Round, 9:04)

Quote:

Jared Buxton VS Archie O'Hara

As the bell rings, the crowd (as well as the competitors in the ring) are decidedly more reserved than they were for the previous matches. Even Archie, the scrappy brawler, looks at his still-bandaged arm and keeps his distance... but it’s a feint, and he charges in to lay into Jared like the bare-knuckle fighter he is! He takes the younger man down, smashing him again and again with closed fists and forearm strikes, until the referee is forced to pull them apart, and give Archie his first official warning!

While Archie bickers with the ref, demanding an explanation as to what he would do in a fight with a wild child like this... giving Jared the time to rise to his feet Michael Myers-style, to the audience’s dread.

As Archie thrusts a finger in the ref’s face, shouting him against the ropes, Jared takes advantage of the distraction by taking him down with a kick to the back of the knee, and grabbing hold of Archie’s arm from behind! He forces him down with a surprising amount of technical know-how, and locks in his signature submission, ironically called Please Don’t Tap! As Jared wrenches and twists Archie’s arm at the shoulder, Archie struggles to regain his footing, and pushes himself against the ropes for a break!

The ref begins his count... and the boos begin to rain down when Club Domain realizes Jared’s not interested in letting Archie go. He gets his first warning... then his second... and then his second disqualification loss!

WINNER via Disqualification: Archie O’Hara (1st Round, 3:57)

Once again, it takes more than two refs to pull Jared off of Archie, who clings to the ropes, clutching his bent and tortured arm in pain. Jared squirms and struggles, frothing at the mouth, his work not yet finished... but just as soon as the young man went feral, he goes limp and sedate once again, letting the referees and ring crew drag him backstage and out of the venue as if he were the one who were injured.

Holly Chainsaw vs Davey-Boy O’Brien <span style='font-family:Perpetua'>(w/Danny Hope Jr)</span>

The dynamics of this fight have shifted well before the bell has rung; Holly, normally a force to be reckoned with, presents herself somewhat more guarded than her first PGC outing, her waist and shoulder noticeably bandaged. Davey-Boy, on the other hand, has been accompanied to the ring by Danny Hope Jr, who stands in his corner, encouraging his new ‘friend’ after their conversation at the last show.

The match begins with a lockup, Davey-Boy quickly taking advantage by ducking holly’s cheap shots and sliding under her legs to trap her in a tight waistlock, but the Horrorshow uncharacteristically cries out, and Davey-Boy lets go, not looking to exacerbate any pre-existing injuries. Before Danny can finish warning Davey to get back to it, Holly spins around and smashes the Scot right across the jaw with a stiff forearm. She catches him before he can fall, stunned, striking him in the gut and upside the head again and again, before whipping him into the nearest turnbuckle hard. Before Davey can pick himself up, Holly kicks him square in the gut and throws him into the opposite corner. The bewildered Davey falls against the bottom turnbuckle in a haze, slumped in the corner. Holly, in the meantime, looks to waste no time, coming in for a brutal Knee Strike! She drags Davey out of the corner and hooks the leg, but only for a two count!

Frustrated, Holly plants a knee over Davey’s throat, demanding the referee learn to count correctly as the Scottish Terrier struggles to catch his breath. When the ref begins to warn her, Holly simply takes the first public warning, rising to her feet and bounding off the ropes for a kick to the side of Davey’s head—

—but Davey gets yanked out of the way by the ankles by Danny Hope Jr, just in time! Davey wastes no time himself, taking holly down by her uplifted leg and covering with a Jackknife pin… but Holly kicks out just before three, clearly incensed. She looks to retailiate with another series of stiff strikes, but the first round luckily ends!

As the second bell rings, Danny is up on the apron, whispering strategy in Davey’s ear, clearly distracted him from the match at hand. Holly looks to capitalize by charging in for a Clothesline, but Davey and Danny duck just in time, and Holly only catches the ropes! Davey quickly dodges behind her, and folds her up into an O’Connor Roll! He only gets another two count, and the match continues.

The two fierce competitors lock up at the collar and elbow again, and Davey once again takes the lead with his technical finesse... but he refuses to exploit Holly’s obvious injuries, fighting only to keep her at bay rather than make them any worse. Danny urges Davey to end the match quickly and exploit this weakness – but the failure to communicate between the two gives Holly the chance to break out of the rest hold and catch Davey with her Inverted Headlock Backbreaker, the Toxic Shock!

Davey collapses to the mat, clutching at his spine, and Holly rolls him up… but only for two, as Davey just barely gets a shoulder up!

Holly rises to her feet, dragging Davey-Boy with her, into the corner. She lays into him with a volley of brutal chops, then begins to trap his legs behind the ropes, leaving his lower half exposed and undefended! With the boos building in the crowd, Holly looks to give them a horror show of her own with her dreaded Dick Kick! Holly charges in...

... but Danny helps Davey free his leg just in time for him to swing his own kick right into Holly’s gut, knocking the wind right out of her! From the second turnbuckle, Davey grabs hold of his opponent between his legs and flips her over for a Sunset Flip... but the bell rings before the three count can be made! The second round is over!

When the third round begins, Holly looks to launch right into Davey, but Davey displays his strength and awareness by snatching her up for his patented Spinebuster! Davey makes an impact with the power move, but Holly traps her arm around his neck... and she’s not letting go! Looking to power out of the choke, Davey hoists Holly up again, struggling to stay on his feet! Holly escapes with a kick below the beltline (and her second public warning of the match), but doesn’t let the rookie catch his breath, hoisting him up by the nether-regions she kicked for a Ball Buster Suplex!

Davey flips out onto his feet, but staggers, and Holly catches him with a brutal elbow to the back of the head before he can turn to face her! The Scottish Terrier is brought to his knees, and Horrorshow Holly brings her knees to him – smashing him in the face again and again, holding his head in place!

With stars in his eyes and blood trickling into his mustache, Holly looks to bound off the ropes and hit another stiff strike... but she’s tripped, as Danny Hope grabs her by the hair from outside the ring and hotshots her off the ropes! With his opponent stunned as she stumbles back toward him, Davey catches his breath, sweeping out Holly’s leg and trapping her arm between his as she falls to the mat! Holly fights like hell to escape, but Davey takes hold of her other arm! The Lock Ness is locked in!

Despite the pain, Holly still struggles, trying to edge her way toward the ropes for a legal break, or otherwise fight her way out. Though Davey keeps her arm trapped, the torque he applied on the wrist that one him his first match is not there; he still doesn’t have the heart to exploit her injuries!

Danny, on the apron, shouts down at his apprenticed rookie to finish the job, noting that if he didn’t do it here and now, she’d do to him what she did to Andrew Davenport! With the ultimatum on his mind, Davey-Boy makes his decision... digging his knee against holly’s injured shoulder and twisting wrist back, bending at her fingers! With the ropes just out of reach and the pain too excruciating, Holly has no choice but to tap!

WINNER via Submission: Davey-Boy O’Brien (3rd Round, 13:47)

The crowd explodes with approval at yet another exemplary performance by Davey-Boy, but Danny is quick to take him by the arm after raising it and rush out of the ring with his ally in tow. He breaks out of DHJ's grip, confused as to why they're not taking in the moment... but when they see Horrorshow Holly bearing down on them like a bat out of hell, the two scramble back behind the curtain.

Holly looks to follow, grabbing a folding chair from behind the barricade just as she did at the previous show... and turns around into a Superkick by Andrew Davenport! His arm still in a sling, he snatches the steel chair away from the menacing woman, glaring down, about to exact his revenge...

... but instead, he sets up the chair over her prone body, taking a seat and pinning her down underneath its weight! Holly struggles, caught off guard by the kick and ambush by her former opponent, but Andrew simply smiles, and continues introducing the main event along with The Karachi Kid as security closes in.

Arcane vs Osmond Bradley

The stare-down between these two competitors – probably the most qualified to be considered ‘superstars’ in PGC – is as quietly intense as it is flashy and dramatic. It’s plain to see that the two are bringing some heavy egos, as well as heavy weaponry, to this match. The bell rings, and the two tie up, working the collar and elbow. Between holds, it takes quite some time for either one of them to take the advantage, but it’s Osmond that powers out of a side headlock to force Arcane against the ropes, holding him until the referee’s count to break hits four.

Osmond starts to back away, staring down his opponent all the while. Arcane, having none of it, slaps him right across the face, and the two lock up again, this time looking to take the advantage and keep it. With Osmond in a wristlock, Arcane presses his foot against his knee, looking to power him down... but Osmond wriggles away, but can’t escape Arcane’s grasp. He shoves Osmond against the ropes just as he did, but ducks under his defenses by choking him against the rope with his boot. Once again, the referee counts to four, and Arcane breaks just in time… and this time it’s Osmond who slaps him across the face, proving that he is not the kind of opponent to be toyed with.

Mere inches apart, the two exchange some heated words over who this ring – and PGC – really belongs to. Arcane shoves Osmond, who shoves Arcane, who shoves Osmond back. Osmond, however, uses this backward momentum to rebound off the ropes and knock Arcane’s block off with a Clothesline!

The crowd cheers and Osmond is all too ready to take the praise in... and Arcane kips up, taking him down with a Clothesline of his own. Club Domain boos Arcane, and Arcane shares his own thoughts on their role tonight, but it’s off to the races as Osmond kips up himself! Arcane ducks another Clothesline, taking Osmond by the arm and whipping him into the ropes, who bounces back to leapfrog Arcane, rebounds for another Clothesline—

—and gets taken down by a Dropkick! Arcane covers for a quick one count, and the fight continues, the two scrambling back to their feet in a battle for ground superiority. For every slip-up Osmond makes, Arcane capitalizes with a pinning attempt – but for every overzealous misstep by Arcane, Osmond looks to slow the conniving Londoner down.

After a Schoolboy attempt by Arcane fails to make it to three once again, Arcane catches Osmond in a tight headlock... but Osmond powers them both to their feet, lifting Arcane up and bouncing his legs off the ropes for a Slingshot Back Suplex! Osmond hooks the leg, but only gets a count of two, and the first round ends with neither opponent having given much ground!

At the start of the second round, the two lock up again, displaying even more technical skill. It’s Osmond’s tutelage under Terry McKenna that puts him in front, using his agility and flexibility to out-maneuver his opponent and sweep out his footing. Osmond crosses Arcane’s legs, looking to put pressure on them, as well as his lower back, with an Inverted Cloverleaf... but Arcane kicks Osmond away, scrambling back up to his feet, and with a stiff and sudden Clothesline, dumps his opponent over the ropes...

... or so he thinks, as Osmond holds on with surprising resistance, skinning the cat and dumping Arcane over the ropes with a Reverse T-Bone Suplex! Arcane hits the floor hard, his head smashing off the apron and crumpling to the floor, clearly out cold.

The ref begins to count, but Osmond’s read his opponent well enough to know that even this won’t put him away for good. As Arcane begins to stir, Osmond hypes up the electric Blackpool crowd, bounding off the ropes and looking for a daring dive to the outside...

... but Arcane is nowhere to be found! Osmond stops himself before he can risk the dive, catching his hands against the ropes, clearly confused. It’s when Arcane crawls out from under the opposite side of the apron and back into the ring that Osmond catches him – but it’s too late, and he’s hit with a brutal Roundhouse as he turns around!

Osmond collapses against the ropes, and Arcane quickly lifts him up into a Fireman’s Carry, looking for his Magnum Opus... but Osmond wriggles out, landing on his feet and catching Arcane with hard right hook! Arcane staggers, clutching his jaw, and Osmond signals to the opposite side of the ring... and when he somersaults into the ropes for a rebound, it’s clear that’s he’s going for his own Handspring Cutter!

Osmond launches toward Arcane, but Arcane catches him before the Cutter can connect, turning him over and throwing him over the ropes with a release Brainbuster!

The well-scouted counter leaves Osmond in a similar situation to his own only minutes before, but rather than go for some daring high-flying theatrics, Arcane simply takes a seat on the nearest turnbuckle, catching his breath and patting himself on the back for a job well done.

The crowd boos, and the boos become even louder as the ref continues to count, and Osmond has still failed to return to the ring… but the second round is just about over, and if the bell rings before the count of ten, Osmond may have a fighting chance—

—but Osmond’s gamble fails to pay off, and the referee is forced to count him out just before the second round is over!

WINNER via Count-Out: Arcane (2nd Round, 9:59)

Celebrating his victory as only a man referred to as 'the Magnificent Bastard' can, Arcane relishes in the negative reaction to his victory as the referee raises his arm. He gestures for a microphone, and takes to it as the scorn comes pouring in through the opened floodgates. He says that he is Mr. PGC, The main event scene of Premier Grappling Club, and he demands more than just a paycheck from Youssef and his goons, but something else: gold. Saying he could slum it in any upstart indy in this country or the next, Arcane figures that if he can't get what he wants here, then nobody in the locker room or the crowd should, either.

... and that's when Osmond attacks him from behind, dumping him over the ropes and onto the floor, and following up with a series of stomps and kicks, much to the crowd's elation! The two begin to brawl once more, this time through the tightly-packed crowd. Gaining the upper hand, Arcane throws Osmond across the room, right into the bar! He picks him up, using a stool for leverage, and stands on top of the bar itself, looking to hit his Magnum Opus for the whole crowd to see!

There's a crash of glass, and Club Domain falls silent... but it wasn't Osmond getting knocked out. In fact, Osmond squirms free of Arcane's loosened grip, falling to the floor hard, looking up at his enemy... only for him to fall flat on his back over the bar. Gav the Chav, along with Shazza Jade, stand over him; Shazza with the broken remnants of a bottle of fancy liquor in hand. Gav takes advantage as the crowd goes wild for the rudeboy's return, who takes Arcane by the belt and hair and, Old West barfight-style, throws him off the bar, taking everyone's drinks with him!
