LEGACY 6 - LEGACY OF THE GAIJINS: THE FINAL

LIVE FROM OSAKA-JŌ HALL, OSAKA, JAPAN
TUESDAY - JULY 25, 2017

Pyrotechnics blaze across the stage as the first supershow of CWC Japan: Legacy; Legacy of the Gaijins: The Final gets underway. It starts off with a quick video package, recapping the events of last week. It shows Essence standing tall, ready to meet tonight’s winning semi-finalist.

”Enemy” by Blue Stahli hits the speakers, and Redgrave makes his way down to the ring. He flirts with essentially any female he can find, but they aren’t all willing to flirt back. Sasori Saito certainly isn’t, as she makes her entrance with no intentions of paying anybody any unwarranted attention. Her goal is to win the entire tournament, and that is the only thing on her mind as she enters the ring.

LEGACY OF THE GAIJINS - FIRST ROUND
MATCH 1
REDGRAVE vs. SASORI SAITO

The match starts off with a collar-and-elbow, but Sasori Saito opts to not stick to traditional methods. She stamps on his foot, and throws him into the corner. She knees him in the stomach repeatedly, forcing him to double over. This allows her to take him down with a DDT, but it doesn’t keep him down for long. She knocks him back down again, though. Only this time, a suplex is her method of choice. It’s not enough for a three count, however, as Redgrave kicks out at one.

He’s back up, and he charges at Sasori. He grounds her with a discuss clothesline, and then follows up with a diving knee drop. He goes for a cover, but when Sasori kicks out at one and sits up, he pulls her into a headlock. Sasori does manage to fight free though, as she elbows him in the groin. The referee chooses not to disqualify her, knowing that everybody would much rather see a decisive victory.

Redgrave breaks the hold, but he’s obviously rather angry. He charges at Saito, but she drops him with a snap powerslam. Sasori takes control of the match for a while, working over Redgrave with a variety of moves. Redgrave manages to fight back into it, though, and after getting her in position, he sets up for a diving elbow. But he isn’t quite able to connect with it, and this leaves him vulnerable to Saito’s “Sasori-gatame” finisher. Once she has it locked in, Redgrave has no option other than to eventually tap out.

Winner: Sasori Saito (Time: 10:10)

Sasori picks up the victory, and celebrates momentarily. But Redgrave, despite his best efforts, gets to his feet, frustrated with a debut loss. Both competitors head to the back, ready for the next match.

Polly makes her entrance first, bouncing onto the stage. She waves to the audience as she makes her way down to the ring, and her entrance is quickly followed by Dabria’s. Dabria also enters rather enthusiastically, but her enthusiasm soon dies down when she is standing opposite her opponent.

MATCH 2
POLLY McPHERSON vs. DABRIA RHODES

The two women begin the match with a handshake, as it appears since last week the two have become somewhat friendly. The two lock up in the middle of the ring and the match is officially under way. Polly gets the upper hand in the lock up, as she pushes Rhodes towards the ropes – the referee calling for a break, Polly obliges and let’s go, only for Rhodes to answer back and slapping her right across the face. She quickly follows up with a takedown and begins slamming Polly’s head into the canvas, she attempts a cover but can only find the one count. Rhodes tries for the pin again, but can still only manage to get one. She picks Polly up and hits her with a spinning Russian leg sweep, and once again, attempts a pin, this time finding two. Frustration begins to mount, as Rhodes slams the mat before glaring at the referee. Polly finds her way to her feet and hits Rhodes with a forearm right to the face, and she follows it up with a second forearm, and a third forearm! She Irish whips Rhodes off the ropes and hits her with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown! She quickly follows it up with a jumping elbow drop before making a cover – and Rhodes kicks out at two! A quick stomp to a downed Rhodes sees her sit up, allowing Polly to connect with a short arm clothesline. She picks Rhodes up and hits her with a series of backhand chops. Before Polly can connect with the final chop, Rhodes manages to slap her hand out of the way and hits a standing dropkick! Rhodes climbs to the top rope, we can only assume she’s going for her 450 splash folks, but Polly is not far behind her up there! Both women are on the top rope, battling for position.  Rhodes hits Polly with a headbutt and starts to attempt a suplex, but Polly gets out of it by hitting her in the midsection, and delivering a headbutt of her own! She sets Rhodes up and hits a superplex! Polly slowly gets an arm across Rhodes, but Rhodes gets her foot on the bottom rope before the count of three!

Polly gets to her feet first, shortly followed by Rhodes. Polly hits her with a backhand chop, Rhodes answers back with one of her own – this becomes a sequence of trading backhand chops, until Polly gets the advantage. She hits Rhodes with a Thesz press with mounted punches, before quickly going to the ring apron, hitting a slingshot plancha. She covers Rhodes immediately afterwards, but she kicks out. Realising she’s going to need to do more to put Rhodes away, Polly begins to climb to the top rope, she waits for Rhodes to get to her feet, and when she does, she jumps for a diving hurricanrana, but Rhodes catches her and counters with a quick powerbomb! Rhodes has the cover, but Polly kicks out just in time! As Polly starts to get up, Rhodes is calling for her superkick finisher. Rhodes attempts it, but Polly catches her foot! She throws Rhodes onto the ground face first and locks in the “Polly Ivy!” Rhodes has to tap! Rhodes counters it into a roll up, she’s got her feet on the ropes! She gets the three count and the, what many would call, upset victory!

Winner: Dabria Rhodes (Time: 09:43)

Polly tries to complain to the ref that Dabria’s feet were on the ropes, but he tells her that he didn’t see it. Dabria shrugs her shoulders and leaves the ring, celebrating her victory.

MATCH 3
ZACK RICHARDS vs. CRAIG ANDERSON

The two long-time rivals start out with a collar and elbow tie up, with Anderson pushing Richards into the corner, he has until the referees five count to break the lock up, which he does, at the count of four. Anderson backs off, allowing Richards to get his bearings. The two lock up once more, this time Anderson transitions into a waist lock, but it’s quickly countered by Richards, who takes Anderson down to the canvas, applying an arm lock, but Anderson counters it with a headscissors, but Richards manages to get free and kips up. Back where we started now with both men in the middle of the ring, the crowd applauding them. A quick test of strength between the two, which is won by Richards – the bigger of the two, he quickly applies an overhand wristlock takedown, beautifully transitioned into an armbar. Anderson manages a kip up of his own and counters Richards with a standing side headlock. Richards breaks the hold the old fashioned way by bouncing Anderson off the ropes, he drops to the floor, allowing Anderson to jump over him, and on the rebound attempts a big boot, but Anderson has it well scouted and quickly ducks underneath him and on his way back hits Richards with a spinning heel kick! He gets a cover, but Richards kicks out at one!

Both men back to their feet, and once again in the middle of the ring. Both have smiles on their faces, this is the first time they’ve wrestled each other since early 2013 and it would appear that neither has forgotten how the other functions. Another test of strength, this time it’s won by Anderson, who uses his speed to his advantage and hits a standing monkey flip in the middle of the ring, sending Richards to the corner. Anderson is hot on his trail, as he quickly starts delivering punches to Richards in the corner, but Richards pushes him off, which causes Anderson to retaliate with “Arse Over Tit!” He opts not to go for the cover, and instead hits a standing shooting star press, but Richards gets his knees up, and rolls Anderson over for his own cover, but can only get two! Richards gets to his feet, he picks Anderson up as well, and hits him with a kick to the gut and signals for the “Fatality Twist”, but Anderson counters it by pushing Richards towards the ropes, and he manages to hit him with “Kicks Out For Harambe!” Anderson hooks the leg, but again, Richards kicks out at two! Anderson in disbelief, calls for the end, as he climbs the top rope, but Richards has him scouted and pushes the referee into the ropes, causing Anderson to fall crotch first. Richards takes advantage of this and hits a top rope hung DDT! He pins Anderson, but he kicks out before three.

Richards nods his head and says “Okay” a few times before he picks Anderson up. He hits him with a headbutt, sending him into the corner once again. Richards hits a corner clothesline followed by a running bulldog! He’s not done yet, instead of attempting the pin, he picks Anderson back up and hits the “Game Changer”, a modified version of the STO, but Anderson has somehow managed to counter it into “The Quavers Clutch!” Richards counters it into a pinfall attempt, but Anderson rolls him back over and applies more pressure! Somehow, Richards is getting to his feet, and he’s bringing Anderson up with him! He hits him with a sit-out powerbomb! He covers Anderson, but he kicks out again! A frustrated Richards slowly climbs to the top rope, he jumps towards a fallen Anderson for the “Coup De Grace”, but Anderson gets to his feet quickly and catches him with a “Rich Tea Bone Suplex!” Richards is too close to the ropes for Anderson to make the cover straight away, so he’s forced to drag him to the middle of the ring. He does so, but before he can make the cover, Richards counters him with an inside cradle, but let’s go immediately and hits him with a big boot while he’s seated!

Richards sees this as his moment to end this match and advance to the semi-finals of the tournament. He picks Anderson up and throws him towards the ropes, Richards goes for the pop-up powerbomb, but Anderson lands on his feet behind Richards! He hits him with a back kick and hits the “Zig-a-zig-ah!” He makes the cover, and gets the three!

Winner: Craig Anderson (Time: 11:24)

Zack Richards rolls out of the ring, not overly concerned that he has suffered yet another loss. He leaves Craig to celebrate, who quickly leaves the ring himself. He slaps the hands of the fans on his way to the back.

”Out of the Black” by Royal Blood hits the speakers, and Jack Tillman steps out from behind the curtain. He makes his way down the ramp, to what is a mostly favourable reception. The audience are quite familiar with who he is, given the impact he has already made in Japan. His music fades out in favour of Cher Lloyd’s “I Wish”, which is quickly followed by the emergence of Jessica Anderson. She bursts out of the curtain in excitement, and makes sure to slap the hand of every single fan on her way down the ramp. Although she’s never competed in Japan before, she’s very confident.

MATCH 4
JACK TILLMAN vs. JESSICA ANDERSON

Both competitors take their positions opposite each other, and as soon as the bell rings they begin. A test of strength is quickly won by Jack Tillman, who pulls Jessica Anderson into a side headlock. Jessica fights free with several elbows to the sternum, which causes Tillman to let go. Jessica whips Jack against the ropes, and as he rebounds back towards her, she leapfrogs over him. He comes back off the opposite rope, which allows Jessica to connect with a lariat. Jack gets up almost immediately, only to walk into a second lariat. And a third. Again, he gets up quickly. But instead of falling into the same trap, he steps backwards and lets Jessica lunge towards him. When she does, he kicks her in the shin and hoists her into the air. He lands a spinebuster, crushing Jessica into the mat. He then drives his elbow into her abdomen, leaving Anderson gasping for air. He makes the cover, but Jessica manages to kick out at one. She tries to roll away, but Jack won’t let her. He pulls her up to her feet and whips her into the ropes. Jessica comes back towards him, but when Tillman goes to capitalise on it, she quickly retaliates with a boot to the shin of her own. He tries to grab hold of her, enraged. But Jessica is too quick, and is able to step away before he can. She grounds him with a spinning heel kick, and follows up with a standing senton. This doesn’t keep Tillman down for long, as he immediately rolls towards the ropes and uses them as an aid. But he stumbles backwards, which presents Jessica with the opportunity to hit a backstabber - an opportunity which she takes full advantage of. The impact can be heard throughout the arena, to which the crowd react with a collective “OHHHHH!” Jess goes for a pinfall attempt, but it isn’t quite enough, as Jack is able to kick out at two.

Jessica doesn’t waste time, as she kicks him in the ribs to wind him, which allows her to pull her into the corner of the ring. She leaps up and connects with a corner springboard moonsault… to Jack’s knees. He gets his knees up in enough time to send Jessica crashing against them, and it causes her to roll away and gasp for breath, Both competitors struggle to their feet, but they manage it and start to trade blow-for-blow. Each punch takes more and more out of each other, with the match being very even up until this point. But when Jessica is lulled into a false sense of security by landing two consecutive forearms, she leaps into the air and throws her hips backwards, trying to connect with her signature “Ass Kisser”. But Jack is able to shove her away, sending her chest-first into the ropes. She stumbles backwards, which sets Jack up with the one opportunity he was waiting for. He turns Jessica around, knocking her completely out cold with his “Ball Room Blitz” Rainmaker finisher. He drops down, hooks her leg and makes the cover. 1….2….3!

Winner: Jack Tillman (Time: 12:21)

Jack gets to his feet and after he has his hand raised, he walks towards a camera. He begins to mouth a warning to Craig Anderson, who he will be meeting in the quarter final. He makes the camera focus on the unconscious Jessica, telling Craig to take a long, hard look. As his music dies down and he leaves the ring, the official helps Jessica to her feet. Although her first ever venture into Japan has ended in a first round defeat, she has left a lasting impression on the audience. They give her a standing ovation, which she responds to by blowing kisses and waving as she makes her way to the back.

"Water" by Exist Trace hits the speakers, and Sasori Saito makes her way to the ring. She looks around, menacingly, as she walks with a purpose. When her music dies down to be replaced with Shinedown’s “I Dare You,” Dabria Rhodes appears. She makes her entrance, somewhat nervous to be going up against Sasori Saito but also excited at the opportunity in front of her.

MATCH 5
SASORI SAITO vs. DABRIA RHODES

Dabria Rhodes gets off to a very quick start, surprising Sasori Saito with her aerial offence. A diving crossbody really catches Sasori off guard, but when Dabria tries for a pin, she powers out of it. Dabria continues to try and keep on the offence, but each time she does Saito thwarts her efforts. Dabria tries for a kick, but Sasori catches her foot and sweeps her other foot away. She begins to work away on Dabria’s legs, trying to make it so that Dabria cannot walk.

A single leg Boston crab does some damage on Rhodes, but it’s not enough to force her to tap out. She fights through the pain, and is able to force a break. She’s eventually able to keep Saito at bay long enough to get to her feet and a standing drop kick knocks her down momentarily. Dabria is able to take control of the match for a while, her most notable bit of offence being a running bulldog which keeps Sasori down for a count of two.

However, Sasori is eventually back up to her feet. From here, she takes control. She sends Dabria flying with a brutal big boot, and then when she locks in her “Sasori-gatame” finisher, it is pretty much game over. Dabria tries with all her might, but she has to tap out.

Winner: Sasori Saito (Time: 08:18)

Dabria Rhodes rolls out of the ring and starts to make her way to the back, but Sasori Saito opts to celebrate her victory. She’s qualified for the semi final, and is now one step closer to meeting her rival, Essence, at the end of the night. She takes it all in as she makes her way up the ramp, triumphant.

”One Step Beyond” by Madness hits the speakers, and Craig Anderson enters the arena for the second time. He has the Union flag tried around him like a cape, slapping the hands of the fans on the way down to the ring. He jumps around enthusiastically, timing his movements to the music. He yells “ONE STEP BEYOND” in time with the song, before it fades out in favour of “Out of Black” by Royal Blood. Jack Tillman enters the ring with intent, not pandering to the crowd like his opponent was doing. Instead, he’s no-nonsense all the way down the ramp. He gets into the ring and, wasting no time, the referee gets the match underway.

MATCH 6
CRAIG ANDERSON vs. JACK TILLMAN

Both men step forwards and get into eachother’s faces. The two men don’t like one another, and this becomes obvious as they exchange insults before one even makes an attempt to hit a move. The first one to do so is Jack Tillman, but before he can connect, Craig is able to duck under him and, when Tillman turns around to face him, connect with a back kick. Craig turns and whips Tillman into the ropes and, when he rebounds back, takes him down with “Arse Over Tit”, a handspring headscissor takedown. With Jack down, Craig connects with a standing shooting star press. He then goes for a cover, but Tillman is able to kick out at one. Craig pulls Tillman back up to his feet, but Tillman responds with a foot stomp. Craig reaches to his foot, Jack capitalises by snapping Craig’s fingers back for a “Finger Breaker.” Jack then takes Craig down and goes for “The Recluse”, but before he can lock it in Craig rolls onto his side. Tillman’s shoulders are on the mat, so the referee makes the count. 1..2.. Tillman kicks out and goes back to trying to lock in his crossface finisher, but Craig fights it. He refuses to allow Jack to lock it in, managing to force Tillman off of him. Both men get to their feet, but Craig is the quickest. Tillman tries a high kick, but Craig ducks his foot and leaps into the air, bringing him down with a reverse frankensteiner. He then goes for a corner springboard moonsault, but noticing Tillman rolled out of the ring before he could connect, Craig manages to land on his feet. Jack is trying to catch his breath on the outside of the ring, but Craig doesn’t allow him to do so. Craig yells the words “LOVE ME SOME FLIPPY SHIT”, before taking flight and landing onto Tillman for a Sasuke special. Craig jumps up to his feet instantly and begins to shout to the crowd, getting them hyped up.

The referee begins a twenty count, but Craig for some reason rolls Tillman straight back into the ring. Craig immediately scales the turnbuckle, hoping to finish Tillman off with his “Viennese Whirl” finisher, but Tillman is up quickly enough to leap up and take Craig down with a belly-to-belly suplex. Jack takes some time to recuperate, before pulling Craig up. He quickly takes him down again with a piledriver, and goes for the cover. 1..2.. Craig kicks out, but only just. Tillman, frustrated, decides he’s going to try to take to the air himself. But as he’s climbing up, Craig is able to make it up to his feet and stop his descent. He brings him down with an arm drag, and as Tillman makes it back to his feet, Craig yells “KICKS OUT FOR HARAMBE!” before dropping him with a superkick. It’s Craig trying to recuperate this time, but as Jack gets back to his feet Craig is able to immediately take him back down again with his “Rich Tea-Bone Suplex” signature maneuver, which he uses as a set up to the “Viennese Whirl” as he goes up top once more. He takes flight, but just before he can successfully hit it, Tillman gets his knees up. Craig gets up, though winded. This gives Jack Tillman the opportunity to lock in “The Recluse”, his crossface finisher. Craig fights it for as long as he possibly can, but eventually he has no choice but to tap out.

Winner: Jack Tillman (Time: 17:48)

After a back-and-forth matchup, Jack Tillman picks up a big victory. He has his hand raised and leaves the ring, but as he does so he acknowledges the hard work that his opponent put in. It’s not much, but a nod of the head in Craig’s direction, which is returned, shows that the two competitors may have some newfound respect for one another. Craig leaves the ring, but not before telling the Japanese audience that he’ll be back in the country very soon.

"Eyes of a Hunter" by Dale Oliver plays through the speakers, and Mason Wolfe makes his entrance. The crowd boo him, as he arrogantly saunters down to the ring. However, these boos quickly turn into cheers as "完全感覚Dreamer" by ONE OK ROCK replaces his music, and TADASHI makes his entrance. "The Kumicho" makes his way down to the ring, taking in the adoration of the crowd. When he’s finally in the ring, the match can begin.

MATCH 7
TADASHI vs. MASON WOLFE

“The Illustrious One” starts the match off with some showboating, taunting his rival TADASHI. TADASHI answers this, by simply copying Mason Wolfe! This doesn’t sit well with Wolfe, with a look of disdain on his face he runs towards a laughing TADASHI, who expected the attack and answers with a quick arm drag, followed by another. Wolfe, who is kneeling at this point, looks up at TADASHI, who once again, copies Wolfe’s now-famous pose. TADASHI gets in an arm lock, he then transitions it into a hammerlock, but Wolfe manages to roll out and connect with a side headlock, but TADASHI is quick to counter with a head scissor lock, but Wolfe struggles out of it and we’re back to a side headlock. TADASHI is able to bring Wolfe to his feet before bouncing him off the ropes, Wolfe comes running back, attempting a clothesline, but TADASHI ducks and on the rebound leap frogs over Wolfe, and again, on the rebound, this time TADASHI hits an armdrag takedown, transitioning it into an armbar! Wolfe quickly scrambles his way to the ropes causing TADASHI to break the hold.

Wolfe pleads with TADASHI for a time out, puzzling the Kumicho. Wolfe begins to apologize for the past few weeks, trying to play it off as a misunderstanding before he slaps TADASHI and begins laughing at him – this enrages him and he takes Wolfe down with a double leg takedown and begins an assault of strikes, taking weeks of pent up frustration out on Wolfe! The referee has to pull TADASHI off of Wolfe, but this isn’t enough to stop him, as he continues his attack with stomp after stomp, much to the delight of the crowd. TADASHI, all fired up now roars to the crowd, who in unison roar back at him. He picks Wolfe but and hits him with a straight right hand, bringing him towards the corner. A nice knife edge chop in the corner, TADASHI runs to the opposite one, runs back and hits a corner knee strike! Before Wolfe has any time to recover, TADASHI quickly Irish whips him into the other corner, and follows up with a clothesline – this causes Wolfe to stagger out of the corner, and TADASHI hits him with a Yakuza kick, sending Wolfe to the outside! The referee begins his count, but at the count of four, TADASHI has had enough and begins to make his way to the outside as well.

TADASHI is on the apron now as the referee urges him to get back inside, allowing Wolfe to take his legs out from underneath him, and TADASHI lands back first on the ring apron! Wolfe begins to stomp on a downed, and from the looks of it, seriously hurt TADASHI. Wolfe Irish whips him into the barricade, and hits a running double high knee strike of his own! TADASHI falls down to the floor, screaming in the pain, as the worried crowd look on. Wolfe picks TADASHI off of the floor and drives him into the ring post! With the referee on the count of six, Wolfe rolls back in and rolls right back outside. Wolfe slowly drags TADASHI back to his feet, trash talking him as he does – Wolfe sets him up for the “Last Chance”, but TADASHI manages to slide off of his shoulders and hits him with a stiff kick in the back of the knee. He grabs him, and he begins to go for an inverted suplex, but Wolfe manages to land on his feet and shoves TADASHI into the ring apron. Wolfe gets himself onto the apron, dragging TADASHI up to him afterwards. He screams at the crowd “You did this!”, and he hits a “Paralyzer” right onto the apron! Sensing that could be the end, Wolfe rolls TADASHI into the ring as quick as he can and attempts a cover, but TADASHI manages to get his shoulder up at the count of two! A visibly frustrated Wolfe begins to argue with the referee, demanding that he should have counted faster, giving TADASHI plenty of time to get back to his feet – his back still a weak point. Wolfe notices him getting back up, and hits him with the “Thrill of the Hunt!” He makes another cover, but again, TADASHI manages to kick out just before the three count!

Wolfe sits on the canvas, wondering what it will take to keep TADASHI down. He nods before making his way to the corner, perhaps setting up for the “Killshot”. Wolfe is practically begging TADASHI to get up, and when he does, he dashes towards, but TADASHI moves out of the way, and Wolfe’s leg gets tangled in the ropes. TADASHI begins to assault Wolfe as he’s all tied up, causing the referee to intervene, separating the two men, allowing Wolfe to get out of the ropes. TADASHI runs towards a now free Mason Wolfe, going for the “Brand New Single”, but Wolfe pushes him before he can connect the rest of the move, allowing Wolfe to hit him with the “Thrill of the Hunt” for a second time! Wolfe makes the cover, 1….2…TADASHI kicks out! Wolfe can’t believe what is happening right now. He starts slapping a downed TADASHI, before taunting him and this capacity crowd. TADASHI answers Wolfe with a series of stiff rights and lefts to the abdomen, before finally getting back to his feet! He begins to hit Wolfe with rights and lefts, the crowd chanting along with every shot! Wolfe hits TADASHI with his own right, but he shakes it off and hits Wolfe with another right. Now rights and lefts are just flying everywhere as both men start beating the hell out of each other, these two despise each other! TADASHI gets the upper hand and hits Wolfe with a double forearm smash before hitting a back body drop! The Kumicho is fired up, as he hits yet another Yakuza kick! He kisses the palm of his hand, and he hits it! TADASHI hits the “Brand New Single!” He hooks Wolfe’s leg, 1…..2…..3….no! Wolfe’s foot is on the rope, at the last possible second! TADASHI, and the crowd believe that he has won this contest! The referee is explaining it him that Wolfe had his foot on the rope, this has allowed Wolfe to regroup and Wolfe hits the “Hollow Point!” He gets the cover, 1…2….3! Mason Wolfe has defeated TADASHI!

Winner: Mason Wolfe (Time: 19:51)

As Mason makes his way back up the ramp, he begins motioning to his waist, signalling that the Rising Sun Championship is next on his hunt. Meanwhile, in the ring, TADASHI slowly makes his way back to his feet, with the crowd chanting and clapping for him, showing a sign of respect towards the youngster – which he gladly shows back by bowing to the crowd before making his way back up the ramp.

"Water" by Exist Trace hits the PA system, and shortly thereafter Sasori Saito is making her entrance. She makes her way down to the ring as quickly as she can, as the idea of the whole Legacy of the Gaijins tournament disgusts her. “Out of Black” by Royal Blood hits the speakers, and again Jack Tillman is making his entrance. As soon as both competitors are in the ring, this match begins.

MATCH 8
SASORI SAITO vs. JACK TILLMAN

At the start of this match, both competitors are very evenly matched. They trade blows, each one knocking the other back slightly. Sasori Saito pulls Jack Tillman in for a side headlock, but Tillman is able to walk towards the ropes, which he is able to use to gain leverage and break free. He Irish whips Sasori across the ring and when she comes running back, he takes her down with a spinebuster. He follows this up with an elbow drop, and then a pin attempt. Sasori easily kicks out. However, Tillman pulls her right back up to her feet and drops her with a piledriver. He goes for another cover, but again she kicks out. Jack then pulls her in for a sleeper hold, trying to make Sasori pass out. But she refuses to give up and after a brief struggle, several elbows to the ribcage is enough to force him to break the hold. However, Sasori retaliates with a sleeper of her own. Much of the same, as Tillman is able to escape. At a stalemate, the two competitors stare at eachother.

The match continues, with neither competitor able to take advantage. Jack Tillman has Sasori Saito locked in a single leg Boston crab, but she’s able to get out of it. She gets to her feet and takes him down with an arm drag, followed by another arm drag. A heel hook comes next, but Tillman is able to roll out of it. He gets up to his feet, and this time he’s the one taking Saito down. He hits “The Martyr” and then goes for the cover, but it still is not enough to put Sasori away as she kicks out at the count of two. It isn’t until Jack Tillman begins to tire that Sasori Saito can truly take control of the match, but once she does have control she doesn’t relinquish it. After a combination of submissions, she is finally able to connect with her Satsujin-sha finisher. This is enough for the victory, as the referee makes the three count.

Winner: Sasori Saito (Time: 15:31)

After her victory, Sasori Saito has her hand raised. She doesn’t stick around though, as she finds it better use of her time to go and prepare for the final. Jack Tillman gets to his feet and, despite not quite making it to the final, he can be proud knowing that he’s carried the Hollywood Pro banner with honour. He leaves the ring to a standing ovation.

"Headless Ritual" by Army of Pharaohs hits the speakers, and Oculta Da Silva makes his entrance, but stops part-way down the ramp. His music fades out in favour of "Hollow Points" by Army of Pharaohs, which precedes Oculta Santos making his entrance. He meets up with his cousin on the ramp, and the two make their way down to the ring together. Santos’ music fades out and is replaced by the sound of “BRAEDEN CLUB 4-4-4-4 LIFE!”, which immediately turns into “Judas” by Fozzy. The lights go out, and when they come back on Big Banter appears at the top of the entrance ramp. Braeden Corbett, meanwhile, is already in the ring. He yells “HELLO” at the top of his lungs. He proudly points to his socks, which have the bottom of his trousers tucked into. With both members now in the ring, the match is able to begin.

MATCH 9
OCULTA SANTOS and OCULTA DA SILVA vs. BIG BANTER and BRAEDEN CORBETT

The bell rings, and straight away Oculta Santos and Oculta Da Silva attack their opponents. They throw them into the corner, and start to beat them down. Oculta Da Silva performs a running corner splash on Big Banter, which causes him to drop and then roll out of the ring. Santos follows him to the outside, while Da Silva also hits a running corner splash onto Braeden Corbett. He then also exits the ring and pulls Braeden out with him. With all four men outside the ring, the referee doesn’t know what to do. He tries to get them back in, but Santos and Da Silva completely ignore him. They throw their opponents into the surrounding crowd barriers, and stomp on them repeatedly. With both men down, the Oculta’s decide to double team Big Banter. They toss him around with ease, the big man unable to deal with the numbers. A Samoan drop from Santos onto the outside flooring has a loud impact, prompting a reaction from the crowd. Braeden tries to come to rescue his partner, but Big Banter is powerbombed against the ring apron by Oculta Santos, and Oculta Da Silva shoves Braeden head-first into the steel ring post. Braeden collapses, and with both men down, Santos and Da Silva enter the ring. Da Silva steps out onto the apron, and the referee begins to count. 1..2.. Neither Braeden nor Banter show any signs of movement. 5..6..7.. Big Banter is starting to move, but very slowly. 11..12..13.. Braeden is still completely out, but Big Banter is pulling himself to his feet. 14..15.. Big Banter reaches his feet, but falls back down again. 16..17.. Big Banter slowly starts pulling himself to his feet again, but isn’t fully aware of his surroundings. 18...19...2… The hand was coming down for the twenty count, but Big Banter makes it into the ring at the last possible moment.

Santos and Da Silva cannot believe it, and Santos begins to berate the ref. But he doesn’t waste too long, as he immediately pulls Big Banter up to his feet. He takes him back down again with several suplex variants, and after a belly-to-belly he tries for the pin. 1..2.. Big Banter kicks out, and this frustrates Santos. He yanks Banter to his feet again, and whips him against the ropes. Banter manages to stop himself from rebounding back, and when Oculta Santos runs towards him he takes him down with the Deep Six. He then drops down to the mat, to catch his breath. Both men are down, but Big Banter is practically fighting a handicap match at this point. Santos is able to tag in Da Silva, who takes over from where his cousin left off. He continues to dominate Big Banter, taking him down with a plethora of heavy-hitting moves. A stalling vertical suplex takes down Big Banter, and he goes for a cover. Again, Banter is able to kick out at two. Oculta carries on the assault, locking in a Boston crab. However, Big Banter is close enough to the ropes to reach out to it. Oculta Da Silva breaks the hold immediately, and as Big Banter gets to his feet, he immediately knocks him down again with a running yakuza kick. He hooks both of Big Banter’s legs this time, almost forcing them behind his own head. 1..2.. Somehow, Big Banter is able to kick out again!

Furious, Oculta Da Silva tags in his cousin again. He enters the ring, and both men take Banter down with a double superkick. Santos then lifts Big Banter up to his feet once more and sets him up for his Kōsei Bomb finisher. He hoists Banter into the air, but as he does so Braeden Corbett appears on the ring apron and yells HELLO. The slight distraction allows Big Banter to slip over Santos’ shoulder and roll him into a pin. Da Silva tries to enter the ring to break it up, but before he can he is intercepted by Braeden’s “CLOTHESLINE FROM HELLO” finisher, which sends him flying over the top rope. The referee makes the count, 1..2..3! Big Banter rolls out of the ring, and the Oculta cousins cannot believe that they have lost this match.

Winner: Big Banter and Braeden Corbett (Time: 18:28)

The Braeden Club try to celebrate their victory, but Oculta Santos and Oculta Da Silva approach them and begin to assault them. Big Banter takes another powerbomb onto the ring apron, and Braeden gets forcefully thrown into the crowd barrier. The audience boo the two men, who, while having officially lost the match, leave relatively content with their night’s work. They leave Braeden and Big banter laid out, as the scene fades.

The screen begins to play a video package, which focuses on the two women who have made it to the final. First is Essence, who was holding her own in the five way elimination match, until she was assaulted by Sasori Saito. Seemingly where this whole thing started between them, Essence recalls how she accidentally brushed shoulders with Sasori (though repeatedly referring to her as Susan) in the hall before her match. It shows her road to the final, picking up some impressive victories along the way. It then focuses on Sasori Saito, who has claimed that it is disgraceful that CWC Japan: Legacy has set up a tournament to celebrate foreigners. It shows her path to the final, recapping the victories she had picked up earlier in the night. Before the tournament had even begun, both women told the cameras that they wanted to face the other in the final. Now, they do!

“Gangsta” by Kehlani plays throughout the arena, and Essence appears from backstage. She walks out onto the stage with a smile, before briskly making her way down to the ring. She slaps the hands of a few of the fans on the way, but for the most part she remains intent on starting this match as quickly as possible. As “Water” by Exist Trace begins to play, Essence eagerly anticipates the arrival of Sasori Saito. But the crowd begin to boo as Sasori doesn’t make her entrance from the stage. Instead, she rolls into the ring behind Essence. Essence, reacting to the crowd, turns around. She walks into a shot to the head from Sasori’s metal bokken. The crowd boo, as Essence drops down to the mat holding her head. Sasori orders the referee to begin the match, and although reluctant, he does as she says.

LEGACY OF THE GAIJINS - FINAL
GAIJIN CHAMPIONSHIP
MAIN EVENT
ESSENCE vs. SASORI SAITO

The match begins, and Sasori Saito immediately rolls Essence onto her back. She arrogantly makes the cover by placing her foot on Essence’s chest, knowing that Essence is completely out of it. The referee makes the count, although he doesn’t want to. 1...2...NO! Somehow, Essence kicks out. The crowd erupt, and Sasori cannot believe it. She turns to the referee, screaming bloody murder at him. But he holds two fingers up, indicating a count of two. Essence tries crawling away, but Sasori isn’t going to let her. She pulls her up and slams her into the canvas with force, intent on punishing her rival. She locks in a heel hook, which causes Essence to shriek out in pain. However, she refuses to give up. She fights through the pain, and eventually Saito breaks the hold in frustration. She pulls Essence to her feet and throws her into the corner with force, causing Essence’s neck to jerk back quickly, causing potential whiplash. With her down on the mat, Sasori locks in an ankle lock on the different ankle. Essence again shrieks, but she crawls towards the ropes. She tries to pull herself to her feet, but a considerable amount of damage has already been done to her ankles as she immediately collapses. Sasori drags her by her hair, and pulls Essence to her feet. She drives her into the mat again, this time with a powerslam. She follows up with a leg drop across the chest and stomach, focussing her attack now on Essence’s torso region. Essence is left helpless as Saito drives repeated elbows into her abdomen, each one leaving her gasping for air.

Sasori takes great pride in punishing Essence, trapping her in a body scissors. She tightens the pressure each time Essence tries to escape, getting more enjoyment out of it each time. Essence eventually manages to roll over onto her back, but it doesn’t last long as Sasori immediately rolls back in the opposite direction. Frustrated, Essence again tries to squirm free, but to no avail. She has to pry Sasori’s feet apart somehow, which proves to be difficult. But she does manage it, and tries to crawl away. But, once again, Saito is right back on her. She pulls her to her feet once more before throwing her towards the ropes. Sasori delivers a huge clothesline to Essence, which causes her to flip in the air before landing on her stomach. “The Roppongi Scorpion” continues to dominate Essence, who shows no immediate signs of getting back into the match. After a second powerslam, Sasori hooks her leg for a pin attempt. But again, somehow, Essence is able to kick out. Sasori Saito is furious, and begins to belittle the official. He again informs her that he counted at a regular speed, and that Essence got her shoulder up in time. In a huff again, Sasori pulls Essence to her feet. She lifts Essence into the air, but Essence is somehow able to squirm free. Frustrated, Saito turns around to face Essence, who is able to find enough strength from within to take Sasori down with her bicycle kick finisher.

Essence is unable to capitalise and make a cover, so with both women down, she uses the opportunity to catch her breath. Both women struggle to their feet, and when they finally reach it, they come to blows. They exchange punch-for-punch and kick-for-kick, both showing visible signs of tiredness. Essence, fighting her way back into the match after a long period of being dominated, is clearly in some pain. Sasori is feeling the effects of competing in three matches prior, but it levels the playing field. For the first time in this contest, the two competitors are evenly matched. Essence drops Sasori with a European uppercut and then locks in a Boston crab, which Sasori struggles to break. Eventually, she manages to turn onto her back and kick Essence off of her, sending Essence into the ropes. When Essence rebounds back, Sasori tries to lock her into a sleeper hold. Essence is able to get free just in time, though. A discus elbow smash downs Sasori temporarily, but long enough for Essence to lock in a bridging chickenwing. Saito refuses to give up, but she’s unable to escape on her own accord. So when she goes limp, Essence slightly loosens her grip just enough, allowing Sasori to break free. Essence screams at the referee for no apparent reason, which gives Sasori the chance to get up to her feet. She slams Essence down into the mat once more, and wraps her legs around her neck for a headscissors. Essence struggles to break free at first, but when she shifts her body weight around, she is able to respond with a headscissors of her own. Both women are locked in a double headscissors, and neither woman seems capable of breaking free. Their faces begin to turn purple, at which point the referee checks each of their hands at the same time. He lifts them both up and they drop. He does this a second time, to the same result. But when he lifts up their hands for a third time, neither woman allows it to hit the canvas. They both leave their hands hovering over the ring, until Sasori releases her headscissors. Essence then releases hers, and the two are back to their feet. Essence charges at Saito and tries to hit a double knee lift, only to be caught in the air. As Sasori has hold of Essence’s feet, she forces Essence to lie on her back and tries locking in her “Sasori-gatame” finisher, but Essence is just about able to kick her away. Sasori approaches, but Essence takes her down with a low-angle arm drag, transitioned into a kneeling fujiwara armbar. But when Sasori gets close to the bottom rope, Essence gets up and pulls her back into the middle of the ring. Essence then locks in her arm trap seated cloverleaf finisher. Sasori Saito fights it valiantly for as long as she possibly can, but eventually she has nothing left in the tank. She smacks her hand against the canvas repeatedly, officially tapping out.

Winner: Essence (Time: 32:58)
(NEW GAIJIN CHAMPION)

Essence collapses against the canvas as “Gansta” plays once more. The official walks towards her with both the official Legacy of the Gaijins trophy, and the Gaijin Championship. Essence quickly snatches the title from his hands and presses it against her face. She treasures the prize which she had worked so hard to win. Several of the competitors in the tournament appear on the stage to congratulate Essence on her well deserved victory. Sasori Saito gets to her feet and stares directly at Essence. Essence offers a handshake, but Sasori Saito turns her nose up at it and rolls out of the ring. Essence doesn’t take her eyes off her, making it a point to raise both the trophy and the Championship into the air. Sasori Saito yells something at her in Japanese. It’s not clear enough to make out, but it’s probably safe to assume it’s not a congratulations. The show ends as Essence continues to celebrate in the ring. Sasori stands on the top of the stage, not moving her gaze from her.
