Drones are flying around the stadium as the players get their last set of warmups in. Sheryl Crow has just finished her beautiful rendition of the national anthem, and we cut to the announce booth.

LEON CASHMERE:
“Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Leon Cashmere and I am the voice of CWC Softball. I’m here in Vegas with Chris Callum, and we are ready to call the action just a few hours away from Sin City Showdown. Chris, how are you feeling?”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“I have my spreadsheets, the analytics are in – and let me just say I think bat speed is going to be the deciding factor in this game. Bat speed not only changes the direction the ball flies, but it will also change exit velocity. Actually, I changed my mind. The athletes can react to the ball. I’m looking for high softballl IQ…”

LEON CASHMERE:
“And grit.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Yeah, grit for sure. And hustle. I want the players who will know what to do in a split second – when to tag the base, when to try for a double play, when to steal a base. Lots of athletes are on the field today, so it’s gonna be about that softballl IQ.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Who do you think will struggle in this game?”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Syd Yancey and Zabrina Monetta.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“I’m not gonna touch that.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“This ain’t basketball, Leon.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Okay. Who do you think will do well in this one?”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“I’ve got my eye on Ryan Callaghan coming off of the East bench. Lots of power and grit. But on the other side of things, Jonas Acker has a lot of speed and hustle. The bench could play a deciding role in this game.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Alright, and finally, I know you’ve ran projections on this game. Who comes out on top?”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Oh boy, I have a computer program that ran over six thousand different tests, and it’s pretty even. If the wind is blowing north, then the East is going to take this game. If it’s blowing any other direction, then it’s fifty fifty either way.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Well I don’t think the wind is blowing, but I’m sure we will figure it out. Let’s get the game started. A little later tonight, we will be able to toss it down to Cass Baumer and Patrick Carson on the sideline.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“IT’S TIME FOR SOFTBALL!”

1ST INNING
EAST 0 – 0 WEST

Top of the 1st
- Cosmo Cooper bloops one over the head of the shortstop and arrives on first base with a single.
- Zabrina Monetta dribbles one to first base. Fleck steps on the bag. Cooper advances to second. One out.
- Dom DiBona flies out to right field. Cooper tests Tyme’s arm. Advances safely to third. Two outs.
- Julian Tijerina hammers one over Anderson’s head in center field. Cooper scores. Tijerina advances to second with a double. (1-0)
- Cade Cameron smokes one to third base. Subhuman can’t handle it. Error. Tijerina holds at second. Cameron holds at first.
- Lauryn Wolfe flies out to Anderson in center. Tijerina and Cameron left on base.

Bottom of the 1st
- Craig Anderson attempts a bunt. Beats the throw from DiBona at third. Safe on first.
- Craig Anderson steals second.
- Rachel Redding bunts Anderson over to third base. One out.
- Silas Subhuman rockets one past Tijerina on the first base line. Anderson scores. Subhuman holds right at first base. (1-1)
- Jackson Fleck flies out to Wolfe in center. Wolfe gets the ball in quickly. Subham stays at first. Two outs.
- Josh Kennedy hits a dribbler to short. Cooper throws out Subhuman.

LEON CASHMERE:
“Both teams were able to get one on the board this inning. I’m impressed that Hudson Hughes is willing to play smallball with those bunts. That’s the kind of managerial decision that takes guts.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“The West team is slightly undersized, so the decision makes sense. They want to rely on speed to get the job done. Anderson stealing second did wonders for them this inning.”

2nd INNING
EAST 1 – 1 WEST

Top of the 2nd

Bottom of the 2nd
** Pitching Change: Brien Storm replaces Syd Yancey **

- Montana Shane lines out to DiBona at third. One out.
- Gear Gamma doubles with a line drive in the gap.
** Jesse Parker replaces Gear Gamma on second as a pinch runner **
- Eryn Tyme strikes out. Two outs.
- Craig Anderson strikes out. Parker left on second.

LEON CASHMERE:
“Blaise Fader and Dom DiBona totaled three RBI’s for the East in the top of the inning. Brien Storm came out in the bottom of the inning and struggled at the start, giving up a home run to Dakota Shane, but he settled down and struck out Tyme and Anderson to finish strong.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Yeah, Leon, that can happen sometimes in big games like this. The pitchers get the yips and sometimes the only thing that can really fix it is time. Brien Storm looked good at the end there. But now it is time to send it down to Cass Baumer for our first sideline report.”

Cass Baumer is sweating on the sideline as she stands next to Blaise Fader.

CASS BAUMER:
“Thanks guys. It’s really hot out here, but the hottest thing on the field is Blaise Fader. An RBI double! Way to go girl!”

BLAISE FADER:
“Yeah… wow. It was amazing! I had my shot and – hey!”

Dakota Shane pops into the shot driving a golf cart. She runs over Blaise Fader and Cass Baumer while screaming “I hit a home run! Interview me!” Blaise no sells the golf cart and tips it over with Dakota still inside. A brawl breaks out between both sides. The umpires clear the area and announce that Dakota Shane has been ejected from the game!

3rd INNING
EAST 5 – 2 WEST

Top of the 3rd
** Matt Beverly replaces Jesse Parker at pitcher **
** Matt Acid replaces Dakota Shane at catcher **
- Lauryn Wolfe singles up the middle.
- Brooklyn Light singles down the first base line. Wolfe to third.
- Trish Newborn bats into a double play. Wolfe scores. Two outs. (6-2)
- Brien Storm flies out to Fleck at first.

Bottom of the 3rd
- Rachel Redding lines out to Cooper at short. One out.
- Silas Subhuman belts a double down the left field line.
- Jackson Fleck hammers a two run home run over the right field wall. (6-4)
- Josh Kennedy strikes out. Two outs.
- Matt Acid singles down the third base line. DiBona fields it but can’t throw him out.
- Montana Shane walks. Acid to second base.
- Matt Beverly flies out to Wolfe in center. Shane and Acid left on base.

LEON CASHMERE:
“The West keeps the longball going with a two run dong by Jackson Fleck, but they are still behind by two runs midway through the game.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“There’s still plenty of time, but right now, I’m just focused on Kid fuckin’ Rock!”

KID ROCK MIDGAME CONCERT

A stage has been set up around home plate and CWC Legend Kid Rock is out to sing one of hits, “All Summer Long” from his 2007 album Rock and Roll Jesus. The crowd is hot as he begins to sing.

It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Splashing through the sand bar
Talking by the campfire
It's the simple things in life, like when and where
We didn't have no internet
But man I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair
And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Suddenly, Kid Rock is charged by Josh Kennedy! Luckily for Kid Rock, a large security detail is there to intercept the CWC Trios Champion and stop him from harming the legend. Kennedy is foaming at the mouth when the umpires toss him out of the game!

LEON CASHMERE:
“What a disgusting act by Josh Kennedy! He ruined the performance!”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“LOOK OUT LOOK OUT LOOK OUT!”

Sheryl Crow rushes to the scene and nails Josh Kennedy with an RKO! The crowd pops big as Crow pulls out thumbtacks from her boot and waves them around. She dumps them on the ground and pulls Kennedy into position. SUPLEX ONTO THE TACKS!

The crowd chants HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT as Crow waves her hands in the air.

LEON CASHMERE:
“Sheryl Crow just made the Slaughterhouse King of the Deathmatch Champion her bitch!”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“He got what he deserved. Cass, how are the others reacting to this?”

We cut to Cass Baumer, who is now wearing a bandage around her head after being run over earlier by Dakota Shane in a golf cart. She does not look pleased and her words are slurred.

CASS BAUMER:
“It’s uh… it’s uh… I don’t feel so good.”

Cass walks off camera, holding her head. Hard cut back to the booth were Callum and Leon cringe.

LEON CASHMERE:
“Well, luckily Patrick Carson is here as well. Patrick, any word from Hudson about his left fielder being ejected?”

PATRICK CARSON:
“I have one better for you Leon! My guests at this time are the managers from both sides, Hudson Hughes and Alexis Terry! How are you guys feeling right now?”

Alexis is chewing on a big wad of snuff, or bubblegum, who knows.

ALEXIS TERRY:
“We’ve just gotta play better Patrick. Up two runs. Looking alright. Big plays. Eye on the ball.”

HUDSON HUGHES:
“I am DISGUSTED at the actions of the East team! They have provoked TWO BRAWLS tonight, and as a result I’m missing two of my best players! This whole thing is rigged!”

Hud storms off, and Alexis joins him in the opposite direction. Cass Baumer stumbles into the shot.

PATRICK CARSON:
“Cass, do you need to sit down?”

Cass locks eyes with Montana Shane in the other dugout and walks the other direction.

PATRICK CARSON:
“Back to you guys in the booth.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Well the East as a two run lead on the West, do you think that holds, Chris?”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“I haven’t heard back from my analytics team, this stuff takes time. Can we cut to commercial?”

Leon nods and we cut to commercial with the sound of Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow singing “Picture” in the background.

Living my life in a slow hell
Different girl every night at the hotel
I ain't seen the sunshine in three damn days
Been fuelling up on cocaine and whisky
Wish I had a good girl to miss me
Oh Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways…

- Silas Subhuman singles on a blooper to center.
- Jackson Fleck singles on a line drive down the third base line. Subhuman to second.
- Gorou Matsumoto grounds into a double play.

LEON CASHMERE:
“It looked like something was going to break through for the West side there, but that double play ended any chance of that.”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Maybe if Josh Kennedy kept his cool around Kid Rock everything would be fine. But what more can you really expect from a hothead from Slaughterhouse? Despicable behavior.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“What an inning on the West side! A triple from Craig Anderson brought this thing back into reach, and Rachel Redding brought in a game tying RBI!”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Good hitting by Adalynn Duncan and Cosmo Cooper brought in the run that is keeping this game tied, however. This one could go all the way. Are you ready for free softball, Leon?”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Dear God.”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Oh, Kaz…”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“Rachel Redding with a walkoff hit to win this game for the West!”

LEON CASHMERE:
“Alexis Terry had Ana Hayden on the bench and she went for Kaz to pitch in a tight spot…”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“I’m sure we will hear all about that when we toss it to Cass Baumer on the sideline.”

POST GAME

We cut to Cass Baumer, but in the background we see Rachel Redding getting a Gatorade bath from the West team.

CASS BAUMER:
“Hi everyone. I’m feeling a little better. Alexis Terry gave me a pill and, honestly, I’ve never felt better. My guest at this time also hasn’t felt better, please welcome the MVP of today’s game, Jackson Fleck!”

JACKSON FLECK:
“Hell yeah baby!”

CASS BAUMER:
“Jackson, what do you attribute to your success today?”

JACKSON FLECK:
“Oh man, all those long days in the gym. You’ve gotta put in the work if you expect the rewards. Two homers, but it was really a team effort. The East put up a good fight but no one can take the West in their home territory.”

CASS BAUMER:
“I believe my colleague Patrick Carson is standing with Alexis Terry.”

The camera cuts to Patrick Carson, who is next to Alexis Terry. Alexis leans against the dugout and continues to chew something with a surly look on her face.

PATRICK CARSON:
“That’s right Cass. Alexis, how are you feeling? A lot of people are questioning the decision to leave Kaz Bonham in as pitcher. Do you regret the decision?”

ALEXIS TERRY:
“I just figured that Leon and Revolver talk so much shit, that they should be in at the key moment. Guess they didn’t rise to the occasion.”

Leon’s voice booms down from the booth.

LEON CASHMERE:
“What the fuck?”

PATRICK CARSON:
“So you’re pinning the loss on Revolver?”

ALEXIS TERRY:
“Yeah, and Jackson Fleck is on steroids, so...”

Jackson Fleck runs towards Alexis from the other dugout.

JACKSON FLECK:
“What did you say?!”

PATRICK CARSON:
“I’m out.”

Fleck charges at Alexis, but he is cut off by Adalynn Duncan who takes him down with a Thesz Press and begins landing some hard shots. Craig Anderson and Gear Gamma leap into action and pull Duncan off, but Dom DiBona and Cosmo Cooper are in to even the odds. The battle continues around homeplate, but everyone scatters when they hear the roar of the golf cart and see Dakota Shane flooring it in their direction.

CHRIS CALLUM:
“SHE’S BACK! DAKOTA SHANE IS BACK!”

LEON CASHMERE:
“That’s it for today folks, and by the looks of it we won’t ever be doing CWC Softball again…”

CHRIS CALLUM:
“GET ‘EM DAKOTA! RUN THOSE BITCHES OVER!”

We fade out with the lingering shot of Dakota Shane mowing down Dex Russey and then turning that golf cart around to chase some others into left field.
