GCW INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP
Alejandra vs. Deacon Thomas

The GCW YouTube pre-show is live and once again the GCW Internet Championship is on the line. Deacon Thomas earned his place in this match last week by defeating Luke Jones, and now he seeks to finally pick up the title after coming up short at CWC East Coast.

When the bell sounds Alejandra and Deacon Thomas make their way to the middle of the ring. They know each other well at this point and don’t want to make a mistake early on that could give the other one an advantage. They lock up and Alejandra is quick to pull away and place a boot to the gut of her opponent. She whips him across the rope, but Deacon rushes forward and levels her with a shoulder block. He bounces off of the ropes but Alejandra stays low and Deacon is forced to hop over her. On the rebound Alejandra connects with a dropkick that catches him right on the chin. She goes for the quick cover. 1…2...KICKOUT!

Alejandra slaps on a headlock, but Deacon is able to pull her down to the ground with a back suplex. He tries for a stomp but she rolls out of the way and rises to her feet. Alejandra comes with a spinning heel kick that once again connects with Deacon. 1...2...KICKOUT!

Deacon misses a clothesline attempt and Alejandra drops him with a well placed kick to the back of the leg. He drops down to one knee as Alejandra bounces off of the ropes once again going for a low dropkick, but Deacon is up quicker than she anticipated and manages to catch Alejandra with a snap powerslam and the pin. 1...2...KICKOUT!

The crowd is beginning to get into the match as the two go back and forth with strikes. Deacon connects with a spinebuster before moving to the top rope and trying for the elbow drop. The crowd roars to life as he jumps off of the top, aiming right for Alejandra’s chest, but she evades at the last moment. Deacon is up quickly but he is holding his arm. Alejandra goes for the pin with La Magistral. 1...2...KICKOUT!

Deacon moves into the corner to catch his breath and Alejandra charges for a running splash. Deacon thrusts forward at the last moment and slams her down with an STO. He pulls her into position for ElectroMagnetic, the Razor’s Edge Powerbomb, but Alejandra slips through onto her feet. She tries for The Arrow when Deacon turns around, but he manages to avoid it! He rolls her up! 1...2...3! DEACON THOMAS HAS PINNED THE INTERNET CHAMPION!

Alejandra comes to her feet trying to realize what has happened, but in the blink of an eye what has been an extremely impressive reign with a title defended every week comes to an end. Deacon Thomas holds the title up high, having finished what he said he would.

WINNER: DEACON THOMAS
(NEW GCW INTERNET CHAMPION)

GCW 21 – WE FIGHT ON FRIDAY NOW

LIVE FROM THE DON HASKINS CENTER – EL PASO, TX
FRIDAY – SEPTEMBER 8, 2017

After the opening video package and pyrotechnics, Ashley Tierney and Leela Watts make their way for the contracting signing regarding the CWC World Championship match at Moment of Glory 5. Aspen Chaud introduces both women and stands at the head of the table as the contracts are passed to the two of them. Aspen starts off by saying how proud she is of both women, despite their clear differences, for rising to the top of not only GCW, but of the CWC. Tierney buts in and makes it clear that Leela has never done anything on the CWC level. Leela reminds Ashley that she has never done anything on the GCW level. The tension is clearly here as Aspen tosses the mic to Tierney so that she can say a few words.

Tierney says that Leela’s little smile is disgusting, and that she can’t wait to wipe it off of her face. Cosmo’s win last week was a fluke, and no one is ever going to get that lucky against her against. Tierney reminds Leela that he has held the CWC World Championship since May, which was basically the beginning of the CWC. From that day on, no one has been able to touch her. She’s gone against Samantha Tolson and Coba Sunday, two champions in their respective promotions, and neither of them were good enough to beat her. Now, Leela is next in line. Tierney says it will be a slaughter, plain and simple, and if Leela is smart she would take the re-match for her GCW Championship against Cosmo and forget about the World Championship.

Leela takes the mic. She tells Tierney that she isn’t usually the type of person to hateful or vindictive. She likes to take things on the chin and let her in ring work to the talking. That’s why she feels like she has to speak up. Ashley Tierney has been representing GCW for months now around the world, and while she’s won matches, she hasn’t earned a drop of respect from anyone worth anything in the entire organization. She has lackeys do her dirty work. She cheats. And at the end of the day, she’s not the kind of champion that GCW or the CWC needs.

Ashley tries to cut her off, but Leela doesn’t let her. Leela says that she doesn’t want to sign this contract. She doesn’t want the title match at Moment of Glory, she wants it next week. The CWC can’t have Tierney as Champion for another week if it can help it.

Aspen tip toes around the issue. She says that there are a lot of things to consider, and since this is such a big money match they can’t just give it away for free. The fans boo, but Ashley Tierney picks up her mic and chimes in. She says that if Leela wants the match next week, it can be next week. That way she can fight someone who deserves the shot at Moment of Glory, when everyone will be watching.

Leela and Ashley turn to Aspen, waiting for final confirmation. Aspen pulls out a pen and marks up the two contracts. She says that once these contracts are signed, the match will be on for next week in the main event when GCW heads to Amarillo. Both women sign the contract and then stand, staring each other down. Aspen collects the contracts and the match is made official.

The staredown is broken up by the music of the GCW Champion, Cosmo Cooper, who makes his way down to the ring to do commentary for the upcoming four way number one contendership match. We cut to commercial break as Ashley passes Cosmo, making sure to give him a nasty glare as she makes her way to the back.

#1 CONTENDERSHIP - GCW CHAMPIONSHIP
Ashley Marie Chase vs. Christian Jones vs. Trish Newborn vs. Thomas Cromartie

Match

WINNER: REV. THOMAS CROMARTIE
(NEW #1 CONTENDER - GCW CHAMPIONSHIP)

Cosmo Cooper slips into the ring to celebrate with The Rev, a man who he respects. The Rev turns around and comes face to face with Cosmo and the crowd pops when Cosmo extends his hand. The Rev looks down at it and smiles before turning to the crowd, asking them if he should shake it. They think he should, so the Rev does. He shakes Cosmo’s hand and Cosmo pats him on the back. As Cosmo tries to turn away, The Rev pulls Cosmo back. His smile fades away. Cosmo laughs it off and thinks that The Rev wants his hand raised, which is more than happy to do. Cosmo tries to pull Rev’s hand into the air, but Rev keeps it down. Finally The Rev snaps into action… CAPITAL BAPTISM! The reverse swinging STO connects and the champion is down and out in the middle of the ring.

The Rev looks down at the GCW Championship. He kicks it closer to Cosmo and then exits the ring looking very conflicted. The boos are beginning to come down but The Rev waves his hand around, tired of hearing them. Finally he disappears behind the curtain and we fade to commercial break.

Luke Jones vs. Joseph Ramsay

Match

WINNER: JOSEPH RAMSAY

Backstage we find the GCW Legacy Champion, Layla Aishe, pacing around the backstage area holding her head. She looks like she is in a lot of pain when she comes across Aspen Chaud. Aspen thinks that Layla has been attacked and immediately begins calling for a medic as Layla hits the floor screaming and moaning. Aspen tries to figure out what happened, but Layla pushes herself to her feet and begins to stumble away. She repeats over and over again “I can’t see, I can’t see.” Aspen flags down the doctor and they are able to subdue Aishe. Aspen tells the doctor to check her eyes, but Layla pushes him away as she continues to pace through the area. Aspen finally stops her and pushes her against the wall. She demands that Layla starts talking immediately, or else there is no way they can help her. Layla manages to compose herself with several deep breaths, and she speaks through big gulps. She says that something has taken away her powers. She can’t see into the future, and she feels sick. Aspen lets her go and rolls her eyes. She tells Layla that she needs to get over it because there won’t be any mercy tonight from Caroline O’Hara Burchill. Aishe disappears around a corner and we cut to commercial break.

Claude Rousseau & Journeyman Phillips vs. Gilbert Geiger & Vanessa Hendrix

Match

WINNERS: CLAUDE ROUSSEAU & JOURNEYMAN PHILLIPS

Journeyman Phillips grabs the microphone after the match as he climbs back into the ring with Claude Rousseau. He says that he dedicates this decisive victory tonight to Alioth Starre, who was too afraid to be at the arena tonight. Journeyman says that he is going to regain his moment of glory against Alioth Starre, and he and Rousseau are formally challenging Alioth and Kana to a tag team match at the pay-per-view. He says that he is going to kick their ass just like he kicked Geiger and Hendrix’s asses tonight.

Geiger, who was midway up the ramp at this point, did a double take. He grabbed a microphone while Journeyman continued to talk before he finally cut him off. Geiger made it clear that Journeyman and Rousseau won the match, he didn’t get beaten tonight. He doesn’t have to wrestle against newbies. He only wrestles for titles now.

Rousseau invites Geiger into the ring to see which side comes out on top. Geiger says that he’s not going to walk into a two on one situation like he did at CWC Worldwide. Cosmo and Leela were colluding against him, and he’s sick of dealing with BFF wrestlers. Vanessa Hendrix pulls herself up and grabs a mic. She tells Geiger that he HAD a partner who he refused to wrestle with. Geiger says that Vanessa isn’t on his level, and he doesn’t need to waste time on her either. Vanessa snaps, charging Geiger and taking him to the ground before landing some stiff punches. Geiger manages to squirm to safety and then hightail it up the ramp. We fade to commercial with a staredown between Geiger and Hendrix and Rousseau and Journeyman laugh in the ring.

GCW LEGACY CHAMPIONSHIP
Caroline O’Hara Burchill vs. Layla Aishe

Match

WINNER: CAROLINE O’HARA BURCHILL
(NEW GCW LEGACY CHAMPION)

After the match, Layla Aishe is still in the ring screaming. She doesn’t know what has happened to her, but clearly the loss of her powers is far more intense than anyone could imagine. Burchill disappears behind the curtain the belt over her shoulder, absolutely thrilled that she won this belt without breaking a sweat. Suddenly the lights in the arena go down and “Let Us Slay” by GWAR begins to blast through the arena louder than usual. Red lights begin circling around the arena as fog fills the ring area. Between the bursts of light we see Aishe covering her ears.

Enki, Enlil, and MAGE slip through the bottom of the ring. Enzi and Enlil stand over MAGE as he creeps up behind Layla Aishe. The music dies down, but the lights stay the same, strobing. MAGE taps Layla on the back and she turns around quickly and lets out a loud scream. He presses a finger to her mouth to quiet her. There is a mic over his ear and his voice booms through the arena as he speaks. He tells her that Z3NITH has arrived, and they require her services. The lights black out once again. When they come back on, the ring is empty and fog is beginning to dissipate. Oliver Thibodaux mutters “what tha hell” on commentary as we fade to commercial break.
