Her phone rang and vibrated incessantly due to her actions and words from the previous evening. Some of those notifications were messages and tweets from fans; many of them were calls from various family members. Another person in her position might have become flustered and overwhelmed, but not Misha LeCavalier. She'd anticipated some backlash from her family long before she stepped foot in the arena.

Misha grabbed her iPhone X off of the coffee table as she sunk even deeper into the couch’s sweet spot.

Uncle Norman called. He left a stern, mildly nasty voice message. Although it was abundantly clear that he had a temper, it was the first time he’d ever addressed her in that manner and tone. His demeanor didn’t bother her; Misha fully understood why he was heated. The first reason was that she’d just verbally attacked his daughter; it was going to strike a nerve with him, and rightfully so. The second reason? Norman LeCavalier was the ace and head of his generation. He likely viewed her outburst as a disrespectful shot at him. It wasn’t, of course. She’d need to clear that up later, perhaps when he’d simmered down a bit.

Some of the elders left messages; she elected not to check them. There were two calls from her father, Ethan. A couple of stammers indicated his shock and surprise in the first voice message. The second was more of concern and general checking up. Her mother, Neva, also left a message. She simply wanted to know if she was doing alright. Misha would call them both back in a couple of hours.

She didn’t bother to look at her tweets; instead, she went right to her text messages. Hr sister had replied to a question Misha had asked earlier; she drafted a quick response and sent it off. Misha then spotted a picture of Sophia Pike as she rocked her pair of matching Jordan 5 Flight Suits that the two had bought together earlier in the week. It brought a smile to Misha’s face as she sat the phone back on the couch cushion next to her.

Did she regret her decision.

No, not at all.

The words that she spoke had been on her heart and mind for ages. She should have shared them sooner, as far as she was concerned. The backlash and back-biting from the family? She’d received it already—at least she could definitely say that she earned it this time.

A major question loomed on the horizon―what was next?

She knew Ryan. Ryan was bull-headed and stubborn, just as Misha was. It’s often why they clashed. Ryan was also prideful, just as Misha was.

They’d likely have words, certainly. However, the only thing that could truly settle the matter would be another match. Specifically, a match with high implications than the two had at Conquest.

She’d be ready for that match. She’d put herself into that position. She had to be ready.
