The street sounds flooded the avenue beneath her feet as she sat there on the edge of her building in the heart of Brooklyn. Santiago wasn’t as loud, even if it was the capital of her country and her hometown. She was marveled at how the street could become such a canvas at any given moment of the day.

From up here, the street was a microcosmos full of stars and wandering souls; her type of of place indeed. It had been a while since she felt this kind of rush, everything has just been going through the motions up to this point and she hated going through the motions on anything. Her way of expressing herself had always been unorthodox to most, so why in hell was she just… one of the rest this time around? How could she let this happen to herself?

She let out a deep sigh. She wasn’t relieved, she was mostly upset with herself; as she let herself fall to the roof. Her eyes got filled with the smoke covering the few stars that were left in the sky, after all, it was close to the hour the weather lady said the sun would rise. She kicked her legs up in a playful manner, almost childish and put her index and thumbs in position to form a rectangle and looked through it, as if she wanted to frame whatever she was watching.

She smiled and shrugged, acknowledging there was nothing more she could possibly do. So she waited. She waited for the night to fade away, and the sun to rise again…. after all, she was named “The Morning Star” for a reason. It was almost time for the night to end...
