![]() Live from Ricoh Coliseum - Toronto, Ontario. 12 April, 2018. MATCH ONE: SINGLES Dazi Miyashita vs Erica DiVyne
BACKSTAGE Gemma Pierce: It must be nice to just...not have to think. We open backstage, to the locker room of the team sometimes representing the Bulldog Breed. Despite what happened at the last Conquest, the usually irritable Gemma Pierce is...remarkably calm, albeit with a coy little smirk curled up one side of her mouth. She places a hand on DeAngelo’s shoulder, giving it a little pat as she continues. Gemma Pierce: It must be nice to just...not have to think about the fact that you lot are absolute bloody hypocrites. It must be nice not to have to think about the fact that the Zombie Vice Squad, that pattern themselves as some defenders of what’s good and right in wrestling, chose not to defend the Tag Team Championships against at least one team that deserved it, but instead to come to the ring swinging baseball bats, just like they once condemned the Ascendency for doing in a match. Gemma Pierce: It must be nice not to have to hold yourself to the same standard as you hold everyone else--it must be nice to accept handouts and pretend like you did anything to earn it, it must be nice to have such a high opinion of yourselves that you think you have the authority--or integrity--to decide what happens with the championship match we won the right to. Gemma actually, genuinely smiles a little bit, as if the whole thing was amusing her. DeAngelo gives her a warm look, he can’t help it at all in the face of her genuine smile, that’s clear before he speaks up, his tone remarkably set and firm. DeAngelo Dalton: I could perhaps forgive some of this delusion if it were remotely possible that they’d be able to wrestle at the level they claim. But that’s their secret, the little Zombie Vice Squad, forever failing upward. You beat a team that at the time didn’t have their little rootlets sunk into Empire’s soil, and I’ll get back to that heaping pile of trash set to burn in just a moment...they got lucky, against The Society. And yet, they have yet to beat us or even remotely come close to outsmarting us. It’s something they’re used to I suppose. A symptom of a bigger issue that they share with the team that’s rolled into our playground and decided to cut the line, and colour me shocked that they immediately set that goat Becky to bleating. DeAngelo shakes his head, and for a moment there’s a hint of ire on his handsome face. DeAngelo Dalton: I understand that desperate sense of not having a place in this business, I mean… I don’t feel that, but I understand it. Becky is a walking poster child for daddy issues, and darling that daddy substitute she married, that enabler… he must think he hit the lottery. It’s a glaring disparity between the actual wrestling skill of The Society and Zombie Vice Squad, and considering how much better we are than they are? You must all be delusional. To the very man and Chav. He managed to withhold a snicker, and spreads his hands outward with an innocent expression on his face as he looks to Gemma before she speaks again. Gemma Pierce: Allow me to squash the delusions--we are not done. You continue to prove, week after week, that it was a mistake by Empire’s management to allow you to go challenge for the Tag Team Championships. You continue to prove, show after show, that you don’t have the fortitude to make it--simply a staggering amount of dumb luck, and the ability to be outwitted by more deserving people. You continue to prove, match after match, that you don’t deserve those titles you cling to, like your lives--or perhaps, more apropos, your careers--depend on them. That amusement lingers on the Liverpudlian’s face, even as she seems to get more and more annoyed by the actual statements she has to make. She shakes her head a little, pushing the flame red hair out of her face before continuing. Gemma Pierce: To be honest...I don’t blame you; I don’t blame you for taking the shortcut. Being outsmarted twice must have been a particular kind of embarrassing, for a team that considers themselves so above everything; being outsmarted a third time? I don’t know how your fragile little egos would’ve taken it. So I suppose I should offer some level of congratulations--you managed to not be so dense as to have your own gravitational pull for once, and took the coward’s way out, snuck out of Toronto with your tails between your legs, but those titles in your hands...and you thought you’d get away, scot free. Gemma Pierce: It would’ve been clever...if it weren’t for the fact that, as usual, you proved to be a fraction as smart as you actually think you are, and instead of getting away with the cowardice...you’re now suspended, and sent to watch actual wrestlers from home. All you managed to accomplish is delaying the inevitable. Gemma Pierce: Whether it’s next week or next month? We will get the shot we won, and we will take the Tag Team Championships from you. And there’s nothing anyone--not Junior Hardy and Nick Redfield, not Jessica Anderson and Carli Davis, not the Ascendency, not the Society, and least of all, the Zombie Vice Squad--can do to stop us. DeAngelo’s smile returns as he gently touches Gemma’s shoulder, and then points outward, vaguely towards the ringside area. DeAngelo Dalton: Empire is where we stand, this is where we have chosen to wrestle. We’re not spread out hither and yon, our focus is here. Could we split our time among several companies as the Zombies and Society do? Of course we could. People have noticed us. But the facts are, against a dedicated team with the drive, passion, and pure skills that I and Gemma have? What do you actually think your odds are? Gemma Pierce: There’s a reason people like us wrestle--while people like you swing bats, make threats in car parks, and take every opportunity to escape. We are what champions are--a focused, driven, ready team. Gemma Pierce: I don’t blame you for being nervous. MATCH TWO: SINGLES Benoite vs Nessa Wall
BACKSTAGE We cut to the back where Junior Hardy is sitting on a metal folding chair. He is already dressed to compete for the night with a black shirt with HARDY on the front in bright yellow. Junior takes a drink of his bottle of water and gives a rather irritated look towards the camera. Junior Hardy: Seriously… Who thought up this match and figured it would be a good idea? The past three Conquests you have Nick and myself at each other’s throats and in each other’s faces to the point that we finally set up a match to beat the crap out of each other to settle who is better. So let’s go ahead and just toss us onto a tag team and see what the fuck happens? He shakes his head and lets out an aggravated sigh. Junior Hardy: Then our opponents? Are they some thrown together team? Are they a pair of people that can’t stand the other like Nick and myself? No, they are DeAngelo Dalton and Gemma Pierce… You know, they have just been busy going after and having opportunities at the Empire Tag Team Championships. So no biggie right? Two guys who really dislike each other and have never teamed together before against two people that are cohesive enough to be going for championships and shit. Junior rolls his eyes before shaking his head. Junior Hardy: Look, here’s the thing. Dalton and Pierce? In every reality there is should walk away winning this match up. It is a team match and they are a fucking team. But… There is always a but and a blind squirrel does find the occasional acorn… What if they don’t win? I mean how shitty would those two feel knowing they lost to a team that’s never worked together before and can’t stand the other one? How shitty would that make the Empire Tag division look? That Nick and I beat the latest contenders for the belts? I mean… Nick is good, obviously not better than myself so maybe we have a chance? Maybe we have a shot at winning this fucked thing? Or maybe the first chance I get I punch Nick in his mouth and leave him in a two on one? He rubs his chin for a moment, playing out punching Nick in his mind. Junior Hardy: Or maybe… Just maybe I give a front row seat to Nick and show him just how much better I am than he is and I win this fucking match despite his dead weight? Maybe I’ll show Dalton and Pierce that they just aren't that good. Maybe I’ll show management that I deserve a better spot of the show? Hardy just starts laughing as he drinks some more of his water. Junior Hardy: Yeah… Maybe. He then gets up and methodically walks off camera. BACKSTAGE Sitting in the Red Room with an easy smile, Katya Djurdjevic watches us with her big green eyes. Katya Djurdjevic: Hello, wrestling fans! I have a really juicy interview on my hands here. My next guest, a top EPW talent, has been on a rollercoaster this past month. It wasn’t too long ago we were salivating over the main event of Aftershock Night One. And despite getting a pinfall over her longtime rival, her story with Megan Rydell didn’t end there. No, tonight she battles it out with Megan. And it will be a contest that will be talked about long into the night. Joining me at this time -- Ashleigh Powell! Delighted to see Ashleigh, Katya gets out of her chair to shake her hand cordially. At a sign from Katya, Ashleigh seats herself and Katya sits in her chair beside her. Katya Djurdjevic: Welcome back to the Red Room, Ashleigh. Good to have you here under less tense circumstances. Ashleigh crosses her legs with a smile; she nods in agreement as well, running a hand up to brush her dark hair off of her shoulder. Ashleigh Powell: I’m glad to be back, and glad we can finally have this interview with just the two of us! Katya smiles widely. Katya Djurdjevic: Totally! I’m happy to see you’ve been looking forward to this actually. You really come across as personable to a lot of people. And I bet that means you have loads of lil’ stories to tell. Tell me the last thing you did that your friends thought you were crazy doing. Ashleigh laughs softly, bringing a hand up over her face to shield the small pink blush that spreads across her cheeks. Ashleigh Powell: Well, professionally, it would be entering the Pro Wrestling PARAGON tournament, even if they’re supportive of me. But personally...that would probably be deciding last Saturday night to go drinking on the beach, in a light shower! She smiles, still laughing a little bit. Ashleigh Powell: It’s not exactly super crazy, but most people wouldn’t go out in that weather, when you have so many times to go when it’s sunny in Miami! Katya smirks with her, gently wagging a finger at Ashleigh. Katya Djurdjevic: I saw you blushing a lil’ there. And you’re right, most people wouldn’t, but what made you decide to go out in that shower anyway? Was it just for the heck of it? I’m curious. Ashleigh grins. Ashleigh Powell: It just sounded like a fun idea at the time...and I might’ve already had a couple of drinks in me! Katya Djurdjevic: Ya, I can totally get that. It's good to be spontaneous. Even with the little things. And then there's that Paragon tournament you mentioned. That definitely looks like big news for you. The list of big name invitees just keeps getting longer and longer. All signs are the world will be watching when that kicks off. How excited are you about that? Ashleigh nods, smiling over at Katya. Ashleigh Powell: I’m thrilled to be a part of it, honestly! I can’t think of a bigger collection of talent in one event, including several representatives from here in Empire. I’m just looking for a chance to prove I belong alongside their names; Josh Kennedy, Jack Tillman, Molly Reid, Blaise Fader...I just want to prove myself. She smiles again, switching her crossed legs as she does. Katya nods, liking the vibrancy in Ashleigh’s reply. Katya Djurdjevic: Absolutely! And when you glanced over the names that have been announced thus far, which of them would you find the hardest to deal with? Ashleigh nods at the question, giving it the briefest moment of thought before replying. Ashleigh Powell: Let me start by saying...there’s no easy matches in this tournament. No matter who I’m matched up with, from top to bottom, it’s a murderer’s row of talent. But I’d have to say the toughest matchups would be the former CWC World Champion Josh Kennedy, Tyberius King who I’ve faced before, or our own Molly Reid. Katya Djurdjevic: And what makes you say those three in particular? Ashleigh taps her finger on her chin as she speaks. Ashleigh Powell: Big match experience, more than anything else. Not to take anything away from other wrestlers in the tournament, but they’ve all experienced success at the highest levels, they know high pressure situations in a way that younger, less experienced wrestlers just don’t...no matter what they might claim. Nodding sagely, Katya sits back in her seat. Katya Djurdjevic: Yes, their capabilities are frighteningly excellent. It really is a great stage to prove yourself. You've also been building up a resume of big matches yourself. As we all know, you were traded from Liberty Pro to Empire. What was the most surprising thing for you since you joined EPW? Ashleigh pauses a little bit longer to think about that question. After a moment, she shrugs slightly. Ashleigh Powell: I’d probably say just how tough the competition is here in Empire! It sounds cliche, but between being in the ring with people like Molly, Gray Malone, Junior Hardy, it’s like I’ve said before; there’s a very small gap between the “worst” wrestler in Empire and the best, and on any given night? Anyone can beat anyone else. Glancing softly at Ashleigh, Katya smiles. Katya Djurdjevic: I’ll pick up on that very point actually. Last week you teamed with Kenzie Rydell to take on the last of the Ascendancy in Riley Savell and Megan Rydell. A very evenly matched pair of teams most would say. And you got a lil’ recompense against Riley by pinning her as she once did you. What did getting that pinfall over Riley mean to you? Ashleigh can’t help but grin slightly as Katya talks. Ashleigh Powell: As nice as the sound of it is, I made myself clear on Friday. I may have won that match, but it was in the middle of a lot of extenuating circumstances. My win over Riley is a tag match, hers over me was a triple threat match. The one that counts, whenever it finally happens, is going to be the one that comes in a one-on-one match. So...it’s nice, but it’s far from as big as someone might believe it to be. Katya Djurdjevic: Oooh, nice, you get five points for that one. She gives Ashleigh a little wink before pressing on. Katya Djurdjevic: Staying with Riley and Megan.... Ashleigh, it’s no secret that some controversy broke out on social media when Riley highlighted a particular matter with Mr. Rothchild. She and Megan voiced concerns about you and now our Chief Brand Officer Jennifer Carter of having an inappropriate relationship. In that they believe you and Miss Carter kept this relationship under wraps. They took issue especially with Miss Carter being the Assistant General Manager of EPW at the time. It was definitely an argument that drew a lot of attention from the fans. They wanted to hear you address Riley and Megan’s accusations. It is plastered all over Twitter. How would you like to respond to what's been said? Ashleigh briefly rolls her eyes before speaking. Ashleigh Powell: Okay. Jennifer and I are friends; we have been since I was in Liberty, same for me and Howard. I even went on a date or two with Howard before either he was in a position of authority here in Empire, or before I was traded from Liberty to Empire. And from the minute that Howard was named as General Manager and Jennifer his assistant, I told both; if they ever once gave me some kind of preferential treatment as a member of the roster; a title match I didn’t earn, punishing people unevenly for what they did to me outside the confines of a match, anything of that nature, I’d want out, to any other territory. She sighs, slowly. Ashleigh Powell: But there’s nothing inappropriate about me and Jenny; we’re roommates, because why wouldn’t you rent a room out of a place in Miami that you’ve bought? Do we go out with friends, like Sixth City Pro’s Skylar Rayner, for drinks? Yes...like friends do. But, unsurprisingly, Megan and Riley...and Spider, because I know she chimed in too, take any opportunity outside of the ring to try and attack and tear down the people they don’t like, or feel somehow threatened by. I don’t let it get to me, because at the end of the day? All they are is words and rumors. Katya Djurdjevic: So to put to rest these rumours, you're denying that there is anything beyond a friendship between the two of you? Ashleigh Powell: Friends...and roommates. Now can we get back to wrestling? Ashleigh smiles, and again changes her crossed legs. Katya beams. Katya Djurdjevic: Of course! Tonight is a big match for you. We were all led to believe that this match was a cert for Zero Hour. With no extra stipulations. No third man. I’m sure you were surprised as anyone when the card dropped to find you’d be competing against Megan tonight. How ready are you to square off with Megan one on one? Ashleigh returns her smile. Ashleigh Powell: I was probably more surprised, honestly. Not that I’m complaining; anything that can be done to get this match done, get Megan out of my life and let me move on with my goals here in Empire, I’m happy to have it done. But that doesn’t mean I’m looking past her; if this happens, this final battle between me and Megan, then I’m going to end it the same way I ended her time in our triple threat. She puts one hand out, and softly taps her open palm with her free hand. Ashleigh Powell: She’s gonna tap out. Because one-on-one, Megan Rydell isn’t a good enough wrestler to beat me. Is she good? Sure; she’s a Flex Johnson trainee, she won the Television Title in Pride before it became Millennium. But...I know Megan, and I know she’s blinded by rage right now, embarrassed that I made her tap out. And all it’s gonna do it make it easier for me to do it again. Ash grins, putting her crossed hands on top of her knee. Katya Djurdjevic: This match clearly comes with a sense of closure for you. Especially if you want to get Megan out of your life. And judging by her words, she too wants this match to be the last of it between you two. So tell me. When this match comes and goes, what are those goals that you intend to pursue? Ashleigh floats a hand into the air, moving it around as she talks. Ashleigh Powell: Once that's done? Then there's the unfinished business that Riley and I have; between a match in the Empire ring...for the Canadian Title or not...and our first round match in the Paragon Classic, we’ll settle whatever score exists. She brings the hand back down. Ashleigh Powell: After that? The sky’s the limit, Katya! Obviously I'd love an opportunity to be across the ring from Molly for the Empire Championship, but I know that I'll have to keep proving myself until it's time. I have no problem with that, for sure. Nodding, Katya leans forward in her chair. Katya Djurdjevic: Yes, and I’m sure everyone’s looking forward to seeing you fight for your place in such a match. Especially if you’d have to get through Riley to get there. So on a lighter note, Ashleigh, my last question is this: what constitutes a “perfect day” for you? Ashleigh smiles widely. Ashleigh Powell: Any day where I get to relax, be with my best friends, and just be “me?” That's all I really need. That could be by the pool, on a beach, out to eat, or even here, at the arena, for a match. All of that can be perfect. Katya matches Ashley’s smile. Katya Djurdjevic: Ladies and gentlemen, Ashleigh Powell! Good luck with Megan tonight. The EPW interviewer and her guest rise to shake hands and share a warm hug. MATCH THREE: TAG TEAM DeAngelo Dalton & Gemma Pierce vs Junior Hardy & Nick Redfield
BACKSTAGE Megan Rydell is standing in her locker room, staring at the mirror in front of her. Her fists clench as she stares and stares, her mind obviously going to a dark place. Finally, Megan kicks the mirror and the glass shatters everywhere as the mirror false. In the rubble, a picture is seen that was hiding behind the mirror. Megan bends down and picks it up before holding it up to the camera. It’s a photo of Ashleigh Powell and Megan Rydell from a few years ago. Megan sighs as she looks at it for a moment before glancing at the camera. Megan Rydell: Ashleigh… You used to be my sister but now? You’ve become my mortal enemy. You’ve become someone who has done nothing except try and rip down and destroy everything that I have ever built. I gave you my trust, I gave you everything but you turned your back on me. You can keep on spewing your little narrative, keep on forcing the blame on me like you Powell’s do, but I know the truth and so does everyone else. Megan steps towards the camera, her eyes glaring into it. Megan Rydell: You tore us apart. You brought us to this moment and you ruined our friendship, just like you ruin things with anyone who cares about you. You even let a woman you called your friend beat down Cameron to a bloody pulp and what did you do after? You shrugged and blamed Cam. Back then, I started to see what kind of person you are. I started to see that you couldn’t be trusted and I was right. Megan pulls out a lighter and holds out the photo before setting it on fire. She then drops the picture and sighs. Megan Rydell: Tonight, I don’t just burn down our past… I burn you down as well. You’re fucking dead. Megan walks out of the locker room and the camera pans over to the burning photo on the ground and zooms in on it as it burns away into nothing. The scene then fades away. MATCH FOUR: SINGLES Ashleigh Powell vs Megan Rydell
BACKSTAGE A clip plays back, in sepia tones, of the main event from JCP Five. If Empire Pro didn't know the two men then, they certainly do now. Brett Carson took on Issak Otto in the Decimation Trials. When Otto got up, Level One (Discus Lariat) awaited him--HE COUNTERED IT WITH A FLYING ARMBAR! The crowd went nuts over the reversal, but it didn’t get the submission. Carson brought Otto off the mat and back down with an edited version of his Deathlok Bomb (Sitout Gutwrench Powerbomb)! Highlights from the match play at a sped up version, until Issak traps Carson into the Class Action (bridging crossface). However, Grace Van Beek enters the ring, and Issak gets up quickly. She lifts the chair in her hand, smashing Carson with it. The referee sounded the bell, immediately calling the match a disqualification in favor of Carson. The DQ would cost Team Emerald three points in the Decimation Trials. The camera zoomed out completely, showing Issak Otto in real time, going over high spots of his last match with Brett Carson. He always got sad when it got to the end, never finding a real winner. Otto reached forward, switching the television off. Issak Otto: "Last week, I came out to the Empire Pro ring for the second time in my life. I wanted to announce that I had signed, I'd be here each and every week! I was how you say - stoked! That is, of course, until my old friend Brett Carson came out of nowhere and decided he wanted to attack me. Brett claimed it was because I was being FAKE. He said I was trying to steal the spotlight that he earned by...well, by being Canadian, is basically what he said. I can't deny his roots, but Canada, I promise you that I'm not a fake! Don't take my word for you, I'll prove it." He shook his head up and down, dead honest. Issak Otto: "Now, despite what Brett may have said as his reasons, I think it may have something to do with the last time we met each other in the ring. Down in South Africa, Brett and I had a tide-turning match that we never got to see the end result of. It was sort of a big thing, and because of that, he resented me making it to the JCP Championship match. That's all in the past now, over and done with. But I think Brett was also fueled by our unfinished business." He shrugged, making an awkward facial expression, almost as if he was afraid to say it. Issak Otto: "I'm not vain enough to think that anyone would specifically target me. I don't really think I'm that important, and if anything, I go out of my way to make sure I treat people fairly. If Brett truly thinks I'm being fake somehow then all I can try to do is change his mind. However, I truly think our previous match has more weight, and I'm glad we're finally going to get to see what would have happened if we hadn't been interrupted. I'm happy we can finally just put it all to rest..." Issak clapped his hands together, rubbing them and wiping his hands on his jeans. Issak Otto: "This isn't going to sway my decision, I know it was a GREAT idea to sign with Empire. I felt so very welcome the first time around, and I can't wait to see what's in store for me here. I won't let you down, Canada! He flashed the camera one of his signature GIANT smiles, before the scene fades. BACKSTAGE Jessica Anderson and Carli Davis are inside the locker room, where Jessica is pacing back and forth restlessly. Jessica Anderson: I'm sick and tired of people costing others their rightful opportunities! She takes a deep, frustrated sigh. Jessica Anderson: This isn't about me feeling unappreciated, or overlooked. This is about The Society doing what they do best: being a hindrance to everybody else, because they refuse to put in the work required to make it in this business. Jess throws herself down onto the bench, aggressively unzipping her gym bag and pulling out a roll of white tape. Carli stood off to the side of the bench, her hands fiddling with the suspenders that hooked to her tights. Carli Davis: You’re right! It’s so freakin’ annoying. Like seriously, here we are - two people who have constantly been knocked down, feeling overlooked but you have people like The Society, who constantly whine because someone else decided to speak up and they have to turn around and make it about them. It always has to be about them and tonight? It’s going to stop. Carli sighs and takes a seat next to Jess. Carli Davis: I honestly feel like I’m in FORCE again. It was constant attacks, being walked over..even as a Champion. Only difference is? I have you and you now have me. I haven’t had the best of luck since coming here. You have been screwed out of a lot...so it’s time we work together and show that we aren’t made to be walked on. Jessica proceeds to wrap the tape around her wrists, biting it off when finished. Jessica Anderson: 2017 was a fantastic year for me. For both of us, even. Unfortunately, 2018 has yet to live up to those heights. Whether that's through our own shortcomings, or somebody going out of their way to needlessly ruin it for us. Jess jumps up, suddenly seeming somewhat more upbeat. Jessica Anderson: But, like you said, we have each other now. That's something we didn't have before, and as good as we are alone, together we're sugar, spice and everything nice! Well... minus the spice because Lizzie's not here... but still! Carli nods along, agreeing, as she begins to stretch out her arms. Carli Davis: Exactly! Though, we need to team up with her one day again! Right now, we just need to focus on what's in front of us. We need to focus as a team. We've had a lot of things taken from us because of jealousy and we had our chance to become Tag Team Champions stolen from us. Literally. Not to mention, Becky Balfour and Gray Malone are the very reasons why I'm not Great Lakes Champion and you're not holding the CanAM Championship. Especially Gray Malone, since he inserted himself into both matches and Becky just happened to follow behind. Carli took a deep breath. Carli Davis: We might not play their games, but you can only push two people so far before they really start to fight back, and that's exactly what we're doing tonight. We believe in fairness and that hard work really does pay off and it's a lesson they're going to learn! Jessica smirks, as she stands up. Jessica Anderson: The Society like to cry and ignore facts to create their own agendas. Well, here's something for them to whinge about: tonight, The Powertuff Girls are going to fight back and make them regret ever starting this with us in the first place. Becky, you had something good going for you in Liberty. You could seemingly do whatever you wanted and get away with it. But here in Empire, things are very different. Tonight, you'll get a taste of just how different they actually are! Carli snaps in ‘Z formation’. Carli Davis: Preach, sis! Carli high fives Jess, the two sharing a laugh at Carli’s silliness as they continue to finish prepping for their match. MATCH FIVE: SINGLES Brett Carson vs Issak Otto

BACKSTAGE The scene opens up to darkness. A bright light shines down suddenly onto Gray Malone, who is sitting in a leather chair. His left leg is crossed over his right and his fingers are entwined together. Gray Malone: Hello. My name is Gray Malone. I am here this evening to speak about opportunity. The word, opportunity, means being given or earning a chance at something greater. In my world, that means earning a shot at certain championships. Have I earned such opportunities? I like to think so. Another light shines to his left, onto a small table. There are 2 glasses sitting on it. He grabs one and takes a sip, before placing it back on the table. He clears his throat and speaks again. Gray Malone: I stuck the final nail in the coffin of Ascendancy, by sending Aria Cruz away. I sent Jay Sinclair on a ride he will never forget. I challenged Mark Storm and I came out victorious. I signed with Liberty Pro, and I face Anastasia Hayden for her Liberty Championship. He shrugs his shoulders. Gray Malone: I feel I deserve a shot at the Empire Tag Team Titles. But that is just one of us. Becky? Explain to the world again, just what in the hell you have done lately to deserve a shot at the tag titles? He looks left as a third light shines on an identical leather chair, where Becky Balfour-Lawless sits. At her feet are two Followers on their knees, looking up at ‘The Voice’ of the family. Becky Balfour-Lawless: The only three time Liberty champion. The final CWC Trios champion and a current record setting CWC Tag Team Champion. I came into Empire and I’ve rarely faltered. I took the moment that was to belong to either Ashleigh Powell or Megan Rydell, and stole it from the both of them when I defeated them both. Venus LeCavalier? Her big coming out party was supposed to be a victory over me, but what happened? Again, I walked out with my hand raised. Becky snaps her fingers and the two Followers at her feet stand up. Each hold a hand to Becky and pull her to her feet as she walks to the middle of the dark room. The spotlight follows her as she moves. Finally, she stops and the Followers walk away, into the darkness. Becky Balfour-Lawless: Conquest 43. What does conquest mean? Loosely, it means to take control using force. #TheSociety is a force that has proven to be unstoppable time and time again. Carli Davis and Jessica Anderson have something we want, and we’re willing to do whatever it takes to walk away with the OPPORTUNITY that they hold dear. A tag team championship match. Becky pauses briefly before continuing. Becky Balfour-Lawless: We aren’t like most other teams we have faced. They get on social media or on camera and say they are better. They call us trash. They criticize us for how we look or dress. If we say we want something, we do something about it. We are more than words. Look at Gray, he’s a perfect example. A few months ago, everyone left him for dead. As you all were throwing dirt on him, we lifted him out of that proverbial casket, dusted him off, and showed him that we believed in him. Now, he believes in himself again, and is arguably on a path to greatness that he hasn’t experienced in the last decade of his career. It isn’t my doing. It’s OUR doing. As a family, we can and have accomplished amazing, life changing things. Have we not, Gray? Gray stands up and walks toward her. He stands beside her and the followers back away a bit. Gray Malone: We should already be in line to face the zombies for those titles. Everyone knows this. Yet it seems in Canada, shit happens ass backwards. Carli and Jess wanted recognition. They wanted to be known. They wanted to be tag team title contenders. Now, they get 2 out of 3. His face is close to the camera. Gray Malone: They will be recognized as the duo that faced the greatest tag team in Empire. They will be known as the two unlucky participants of a sound and decisive victory by the Society. And they will have not only lost this match, but lost any chance of being number 1 contenders to the tag titles. Becky leans forward while standing next to Gray, her face close to the camera as well. Becky Balfour-Lawless: Carli...Jessica. I’m going to make you Scream For Me… Gray grabs Becky by the hair and pulls it back as the scene cuts to static with both Becky and Gray’s laughs being the audio backcdrop as #TheSociety flashes over the static filled screen. BACKSTAGE The soft eyed, slender Russian beauty again takes our screens as we find ourselves in the Red Room. Katya Djurdjevic: Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! There is nothing quite like an EPW title bout. They have continued to draw the big crowds around Canada. Many come far and wide for a whiff of EPW glory. And my next guest has made a point of getting involved in the thick of it.The entire time she's been in Empire Pro, she's only ever had one goal; to claim the Empire Pro Wrestling Extreme Championship. She's had a crack at that strap, but she's done enough to earn one more chance to register her first EPW title victory. Joining me at this time -- "The Bloodletter" Ally Gregory! Katya greets Ally with much cordiality. She invites the EPW Extreme #1 contender to take a seat. Katya Djurdjevic: Lovely to have you here, Ally. Ally smiles softly as she sits down, her long blonde hair already secured back in a tight ponytail, she’s dressed in a pair of ripped jeans and an “I’d rather be kissing Tyson Gregory” t-shirt, an homage to her FSociety days. Ally Gregory: Thank you for having me. Smiling back, Katya and Ally’s eyes meet as the Russian speaks. Katya Djurdjevic: Now Ally, you reintroduced yourself to the wrestling world the only way you know how. Taking massive, violent action. You came into EPW with a single goal in mind. So I’m curious about what other things take your fancy. What’s something you’ve always wanted to try? Ally shakes her head slowly. Ally Gregory: I don’t work that way, I select a goal and I work towards it, I’m someone of very singular focus and attention, small steps to achieve the greater goal. I don’t look outside of that, so right now, all of my focus is on the Extreme Championship, I’m not looking past that until I have obtained it. Tapping a finger to her chin thoughtfully, Katya nods her head. Katya Djurdjevic: OK. You say you take small steps to achieve the greater goal, so how long has the Extreme Championship been in your crosshairs? What were the steps that brought you to this point? Ally again shrugs, sighing a little. Ally Gregory: It was just the obvious choice, I made my statement in attacking Caleb, nobody saw it coming, the very fact that he still holds that championship is down to luck on his part, I had him beat and next time there will be nothing left to luck. The championship deserves a champion who will represent it justly, it hasn’t had that. Katya Djurdjevic: Yes, you haven’t minced your words when it comes to your opinion on Caleb Houston. So speaking as someone who’s made a reputation from hardcore wrestling, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this: what does it take to be a good hardcore wrestler? Ally Gregory: I don’t believe I’m the gold standard on hardcore wrestling, there are far more accomplished wrestlers than me out there, however, despite people questioning it. I have indeed made my path through bloody, violent matches. That being said, I don’t believe any one thing makes a great hardcore wrestler, you either have it in you, or you don’t. Katya nods her head slowly, raising her eyebrows at that answer. Katya Djurdjevic: That’s interesting. So hardcore wrestling isn’t exactly something you can grow into. It more akin to an innate quality. What experiences brought you to that understanding? Ally chews the inside of her cheek, looking almost bored. Ally Gregory: It’s part of you, there are people who simply can’t take it to that level. It’s shown in their work and the way they hold themselves in the ring… Sure, anyone can be booked in a match, but to pour tacks down someone’s throat and superkick them? To lick someone’s blood from your finger as a message to their significant other, these aren’t things just anyone can find within them. It’s a part of you. Releasing an audible whistle, Katya’s lips curve into a big O at the thought of eating a superkick with mouthfuls of thumbtacks lodged down your windpipe. The enthusiasm in her eyes doesn’t waver though. In fact, she leans forward, her green eyes shining. Katya Djurdjevic: Oh, ho, ho, now that’s something! So of all the myriad of opponents you’ve faced in your career, which of them made your blood boil the most? Ally smiles as she thinks back over her opponents, drawing her teeth over her bottom lip. Ally Gregory: In terms of longevity, I would have to say Genie, the hate wasn’t there when we finally had our match, but she is definitely the one opponent I’ve had who could get under my skin like nobody else… but my most intense match in terms of emotions, was Gray Malone; that was personal. But it also showed me who I truly was, neither of those though, were my most challenging match, just my most emotional ones. Katya Djurdjevic: Oh, please, go on. What was your most challenging match? What made it so hard to deal with for you? Ally pauses for a moment, an odd look crosses her eyes before she smiles again. Ally Gregory: Gavin… When I requested the match type, I hated him. I knew it would force him to face his demons, are you familiar with a Monster's Ball match? She poses the question genuinely, not in a condescending way, knowing it’s a mostly archaic match style and not everyone is familiar with it. Katya quirks an eyebrow at the name of this particular type. Katya Djurdjevic: I’m not, no. Gimme a lil rundown on what’s involved. Ally nods quickly. Ally Gregory: Opponents are locked in a room with no light, no food and no water for twenty four hours before the match, they are then released to immediately be sent to the ring, we had nothing. The whole time, cameras were set up in the room to record us, I could hear him… the other side of the wall, battling his demons, it was exactly what I wanted. Katya’s eyes widen slightly, but she doesn’t withdraw her gaze from Ally. Ally looks sad for a moment, regretful almost. Ally Gregory: I won the match, but I also injured my ankle… the brace I wear now? That’s a result of the match. I gained a friend in Gavin and we swore to never face again, that was my hardest match as I didn’t only battle Gavin, I also had to battle with myself, I learned a lot from the match, it changed me… I’m grateful for the lesson, but I wouldn’t ever do it again. Katya Djurdjevic: Wow.That sounds like an immense experience. It could definitely wreak havoc on anyone’s minds. It must have been utterly exhausting. From what you learned of yourself from that day, what were the greatest lessons you gleaned? Ally takes a moment to collect her thoughts, looking down at her clasped hands. Ally Gregory: Two lessons, firstly that you never truly know the person standing across the ring from you. You can know parts of their story, you can go back and forth, but who they truly are? It’s much deeper than that. And secondly, that there is something in me, a drive, that is greater and more powerful than anything else in this world, bar only one thing. Katya nods encouragingly. Katya Djurdjevic: And that is? Ally smiles warmly as she looks up. Ally Gregory: Love. Love can bring you back from absolutely anything. A smile pulled at Katya’s lips. Katya Djurdjevic: And how did love pull you back from your lowest point, Ally? Ally instinctively reaches upto wrap her hand around the pendant that hangs around her neck, she rolls it about in her palm. Ally Gregory: That Match, was intense but not my lowest point. I’ve made no secret of my battle with alcoholism, I passed my years sobriety a few months back, but there was a very dark time for me, in my early days of FSociety, when things were bleak… I don’t come from the best circumstances, my path here has been rocky and difficult, but Tyson is the sole reason I was able to find myself again. His patience, understanding and love, before we were even an item… That is what pulled me back from a night when it all could have ended… She trails off and leans back in the chair, it’s not something she’s spoken about on a public forum much before and the memories obviously make her a little emotional, she eventually puts on a smile. Ally Gregory: I owe my life to my husband, most definitely. Laying her hand affectionately on Ally’s arm, Katya smiles gently at her. Katya Djurdjevic: It sounds like you really care about him. Ally Gregory: Before I met Tyson, I had very different expectations for my life, I certainly never imagined myself having children… I would say I more than care about him, he is absolutely my universe, he has supported me getting back in the ring without question, that’s rare, I think. To find someone who never competes with you, doesn’t care about being better, or bigger, he just wants to see me find the successes I want. And I want to see the same for him. Katya smiles ear to ear as she sits there gazing into Ally’s eyes. Katya Djurdjevic: Totally! You mention how rare it is to find someone who never competes with you, and is supportive in what you do. What would you say are your strongest values, or the values which are most important to you? Ally Gregory: My personal values? The things I will teach my children, always value yourself. You may not see it in the moment, but every life has value, it’s finite and it can be hard, but every single person has worth. I also value truth and openness in my relationships above anything else… this industry breeds resentment between friends, that’s something I never want to see happen with my closest friends. As for what I value in my marriage? How we love and accept one another without question, we disagree, we fight, but we never disrespect one another… Marie, Joshua and Tyson are my world and I would never do anything to endanger that. Katya stares into Ally’s eyes very calmly. Katya Djurdjevic: You know, I'm listening to you and I'm hearing these values, particularly the first two, as issues you yourself have had struggles with. It must mean the world to you to be able to teach that to your own flesh and blood. Especially as someone who’s gone through it yourself. Which brings me to my final question. If you knew in one year you would die, what would you change, if anything? Ally Gregory: I would leave here tonight, never wrestle again and spend every last moment with my family. I love wrestling, it gave me strength and drive when I needed it, but it will never be more important to me than my family. Some people may think that makes me weak, that I don’t have the passion or the drive. But they’re wrong, I do this because I want my twins to see that it’s not what you come from, it’s not who people tell you are… it’s what you make of yourself that matters. Ally smiles softly, nodding once. Ally Gregory: I came back to the ring because I have something to prove to myself, whatever anyone else may think, at the end of the day that doesn’t mean anything to me. Katya smiles tenderly. Katya Djurdjevic: Ladies and gentlemen, Ally Gregory. Rising to her feet, a beaming Katya shakes Ally’s hand and gives her a pair of cheek kisses, warmly patting her on her back. MATCH SIX: TAG TEAM Becky Balfour & Gray Malone vs Carli Davis & Jessica Anderson
BACKSTAGE The scene cut backstage to Jenson Idol standing in front of a camera in a dark room. His eyes stare down the camera for a few moments before he finally decides to speak. Jenson Idol: Oi! Tonight, I cross paths with two familiar foes of mine; Ally Gregory and Jay Sinclair. I understand why Howard wouldat put Ally and I in a match together, it makes sense, really. I mean, last time, we blew the roof off but Jay? Jenson scoffs and shakes his head. Jenson Idol: Jay Sinclair is a waste of fucking space. He doesn’t do shite and it’s obvious by his belly size that he barely even works out. He expects to just walk in and get a win but guess what, mate? That’s not happening against the caliber of opponents you got tonight. To be quite honest, I’m sick of seeing your bloody face. Everywhere I turn, there’s Jay Sinclair, meddling in one of my matches. What makes you think you even deserve to share a ring with me? You fucking don’t. But here we are, once again! He rolls his eyes. Jenson Idol: Tonight, I’ll end Jay Sinclair and get em out of my hair for good and then? Then I’ll tear apart that pretty little face of Ally’s and then pin her. Then? Then I’ll get the shot at the Extreme Championship that I still deserve to be in. Leaving me out of that shite is rubbish and I deserve better and guess what? I’m going to show that tonight. He nods and walks off before the scene fades out. BACKSTAGE The blinding image of hot pink fills the camera’s view. As it spans back, the item in question is revealed to be Venus LeCavalier’s new tranquilizer gun. Shaped in the fashion of an elephant gun from olden days, she touts it around with a hum until she finds herself cornered by the camera. She places it on her shoulder, eyeing the camera with a mischievous expression. Venus LeCavalier: Hi, I didn’t see you there. She jests before aiming down the barrel of her weapon. Venus LeCavalier: You could have been knocked out, sneaking up on me like that. As you saw with Avery Smith, you could be taking a nap. For you, a precious camera operator, a nap is worthwhile. The price is simple--you’ll get fired. We wouldn’t want that, do we? Her cooing registers as patronizing as she makes a crybaby motion, but she returns back to her normal, passive self shortly after. Venus LeCavalier: I assume that you’re listening me right now, Avery? I further believe you to be around tonight, waiting for your revenge. If so, you challenge both Helena’s and my intelligence. You take it that since I’ve left you drooling in the middle of the ring, you can come back to try to take control of your destiny and ruin mine in the process? Please. I hear a lot that you people watch wrestling, but no one seems to learn from it. So, my message to you is that if you’re here, Avery, stay where you are. I have a very firm belief that you’re coming and I’ve adjusted my gameplan accordingly for that. I promise you that you do feel the need to interfere in my potential victory that I will see to it that you’re not laid out via tranquilizer dart. It will be worse. For you to ruin this chance for me is to ruin something that I’ve waited a long time for. That’s a first degree offense, a punishable crime. With a sharp breath, Venus refocuses her attention. Venus LeCavalier: Now, the CanAm Championship, a truly glorious championship that Helena Noir has held onto for a fantastic five defenses. Ms. Noir is marvelous; it’d be silly not to mention how talented she is. She has done well to make that championship shine brighter, but I can make it shine better. I’m the North Star, the most radiant star in the sky. I’ll bring here to its true home, Empire. The other championships, I will seek out in due time. She cradles her tranquilizer gun for a moment. Venus LeCavalier: Helena, take no offense by what I have to do. If you have ever listened to me, then you know that I’m not a honorable wrestler. I’m a woman who believes in honesty. I’m the most honest woman you’ll ever meet. I won’t hold anything back, both verbally and competitively. To win that championship, you will see me do anything that I can to win it. This is your warning tonight. Be prepared for anything, Helena, as I am every time that I step in the ring. A slow glance at the gun she used to put down Avery Smith brings the camera’s focus there. Venus LeCavalier: Victory for me means my first title win. That means that I’m starting my career off right. There’s a master plan to winning this championship and how to make the most of it. Helena, you don’t need to worry about the championship when you lose it tonight. It’ll be in safe hands. I’ll continue to make your efforts legendary. When people look back on my reign, they’ll see that it started with you. You were essential in making the CanAm Championship great, but you’ll be the soil for what I’ll blossom into. For that, I thank you. Venus gives Helena a thankful bow. Venus LeCavalier: There isn’t any need to ramble on further. Tonight, I want to stand on those turnbuckles fifteen pounds heavier. You want to walk out with the championship that you’ve established. Which is stronger? My ruthless desire or your will as a champion. It’s a curious thought. I cannot wait to see what happens. Venus pauses, but she then continues on down the hallway. The scene starts to fade to black. MATCH SEVEN: HARDCORE, SPECIAL REFEREE: CALEB HOUSTON Ally Gregory vs Jay Sinclair vs Jenson Idol If Jay or Jenson pin/submit Ally then they will join her as #1 contender.
BACKSTAGE Helena Noir: “I only wish that, this time, I can actually fight a match without any outside interference. I think it would be nice, for a change...” There’s a small crowd gathered around the CanAm Champion, who’s standing right outside the Ricoh Center in what looks like an impromptu meet & greet with some lucky fans who reached the Arena early. Between one selfie and the other, some of them dare to ask a few questions. Fan #1: “Helena, you seem so confident, but you have to admit that Venus is probably the toughest challenge you faced until now…” Helena finishes signing an autograph and raises her head, scanning the crowd to find who asked the question. It’s a tall guy in a heavy black windbreaker and a wool beanie. Helena Noir: “You know, this is exactly what being a champion is all about. Raising the bar, each and every time. Jessica Anderson was a worthy challenger, but her match was ruined by the Society. Last Saturday in New York, I had a rematch against Avery Smith and I have no problem admitting that, in the light of our recent match, I underestimated her, and it costed me the match. Sure I could argue about Venus getting involved, but I’m not going to. That’s entirely on me, I lost focus and Avery was quick to capitalize, and I can’t blame her, I would have done the same. Mors tua, vita mea as they say. The point is, since our first match she brought something more to the table, she came out with a different attitude. And it paid off.” She sits on her suitcase, her eyes still on the guy who just asked the question, as if everyone else wasn’t even there. Helena Noir: “Because, you know, this is what this titles does to you. It makes you push your own limits, whether you are trying to win it or, in my case, defend it. With that said, Venus is an amazing competitor, no denying. But can she put me down again, this time without a blindside attack? I don’t think so, and I will prove it later tonight.” Another fan, this time a girl, raises her hand and asks her question. Fan #2: “And what about Avery?” Helena Noir: “What about her?” She replies, not sure what point the girl is trying to make. Fan #2: “I mean, she beat you so…” Helena Noir: “So you think she automatically earned another shot.” Helena cut her off. Helena Noir: “Honestly? Yeah, in my eyes she deserve another opportunity. But I’m not the one making matches, that’s Callaghan’s job. Mine is to fight, and I’ll do it no matter who’s put in front of me.” Fan #3: “Have you considered the opportunity that Smith could show up during or after the match?” The sudden question put a smile on the champion’s face. A smirk, actually. Helena Noir: “Oh sure I did. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her trying some number just to mess with me, or with Venus. I saw their back and forth on twitter, they kinda promised it to each other huh? She can do whatever she wants to, I don’t really mind. But I feel generous enough to give a free word of advice. You are playing a dangerous game, the both of you. Let sleeping dogs lie, this is your last warning,” With that said, she waks away, finally stepping through the Arena doors. BACKSTAGE The cameras cut to inside Riley Savell’s locker room, Riley is dressed in her ring tights with a sweatshirt thrown over the top, the logo reads “The Villain”. Sat beside her, is her assistant and interviewer for the night, Bethany Acris, Bethany smiles and Riley as the pair look a little impatient. Bethany: Do you think she got lost? Riley scoffs with laughter, running her hand through her hair she offers a shrug. Riley: Probably… maybe those burns are affecting her eyesight, have you seen her face? Riley makes a gagging motion. Riley Savell: Gross. Bethany tries to hide the fact that she’s laughing by holding her hand over her mouth as the pair wait for Kenzie to arrive. After waiting several minutes it becomes obvious Kenzie isn’t going to show, Riley looks to her assistant and starts to laugh. Riley Savell: I guess she’s washing her hair… What a shock, Kenzie Rydell has nothing to say. I’m sure after the event she will take to twitter to proclaim how she didn’t show because there was nothing left to say, or whatever lame, shitty excuse she thinks people will buy. Bethany Acris: Maybe something came up? Riley smirks at Bethany and shakes her head. Riley Savell: What, like her boyfriend? Hey, maybe he remembered she exists and actually came to a show. At least he’ll get a good nap when she makes her excuses later and puts everyone to sleep… Honestly, how does anyone willingly put their dick in her? Aren’t they worried that loser is catching? Gag me. Bethany giggles behind her hand before shaking her head. Bethany Acris: Well, since it looks like it’s going to be just the two of us, perhaps we should jump right into it? Riley nods encouragingly. Bethany Acris: So, Howard handed you the power to choose your stipulation for tonight’s title defense. And you chose.. uh… Riley Savell: Spank me Daddy. Bethany Acris: Right, That… Riley Savell: No Bethany, say it… Bethany blushes slightly and shakes her head, Riley playfully needles Bethany in the ribs and she squeaks. Bethany Acris: Okay, Okay! Tonight you’re competing in a “Spank me Daddy” match… Um, why exactly did you choose that? Riley smirks and sits up straight, adjusting her hair. Riley Savell: To fuck with Aries, obviously. I’ve been waiting to get into the ring with him for a while, I’ve enjoyed torturing him all week and now… I get to finish all of this off with a good hard spanking across that bad little meat boi’s ass. She winks at the camera, a glint in her eye showing she really has been enjoying making Aries squirm with her tweets and behavior. Riley Savell: And, what a victory for The Villain this will be, Aries is, for all his faults, quite the name to be stepping into the ring with and he will be a pretty name next to my successful defenses. Don’t you agree? Bethany obediently nods in agreement. Bethany Acris: I do, looking ahead, you’ll also be defending your Canadian championship against the missing Miss Rydell at the supershow in another match of your choosing, an inferno match… How are you feeling about that? Riley laughs and rolls her eyes. Riley Savell: Confident, obviously, I can't wait to make Spencer my bitch. He has misplaced hope in Kenzie, who seems to think she’s here to save Empire, so first. I’ll light the stupid twat on fire and then… I’ll take her best friend and show him what a loser she really is. Bethany Acris: Well, I don’t really have any more questions as the plan was to have a joint interview and so most of my questions are now moot… So, anything else you’d like to add? Riley shakes her head slowly. Riley Savell: I’d just like to apologize on Kenzie’s behalf, to all the fans she let down tonight, I guess the hope Really is gone. |

MATCH EIGHT: SINGLES EPW/LPW CanAm Title Helena Noir (c) (Liberty) vs Venus LeCavalier
MATCH NINE: PADDLE ON A POLE Riley Savell (c) vs Aries Armadaist
BACKSTAGE Standing in the Red Room, EPW Interviewer Katya Djurdjevic is beside a large monitor bearing the Empire Pro logo. Rather impressively, it fits in seamlessly with the wall it's fixed upon. A smile unfurls on Katya’s features. Katya Djurdjevic: Ladies and gentlemen, last week on Conquest the stage was set. Zombie Vice Squad were to defend the EPW Tag Team Championship in a triple threat tag team match. The challengers being Carli Davis & Jessica Anderson and DeAngelo Dalton & Gamma Pierce. In what was a huge talking point last week, the champions went on a rampage. Let’s talk a look. Katya gestures to the screen which flashes to last week’s footage. REPLAY Dalton and Pierce & Davis and Anderson are squaring off until the crowd begin to boo loudly, reacting to someone hopping the rail. It's Zombie Vice Squad and they've brought a baseball bat each! Siberia and Kowloon slide into the ring, flattening all four opponents in sequence and leaving none but each other standing. The referee escapes the carnage and declares the match a non-contest. The booing only increases in volume as ZVS seem to pick out Carli and Jessica in particular. Taking their chance, DeAngelo and Gemma roll from the ring and head toward the back, leaving Carli and Jessica the mercy of the Zombies - but no mercy is forthcoming and both women are left laid out after a vicious assault with the bats. Both Zombies leave the ring, holding their tag titles in hand, and smirk back to the ring from the stage. It seems they didn't fancy defending against two other teams... Shouts and boos can be heard from the crowd as the footage stops at the smirking duo. Katya Djurdjevic: Deciding the task asked of them was too unreasonable, The Zombies caught their challengers completely off guard. Attacking them with baseball bats, focusing their attacks particularly on Davis and Anderson as you just saw. Their actions earned themselves a suspension from EPW management. Although they are suspended from the arena this evening, the Tag Team Champions are joining us live via satellite. So without further ado, I bring to you the EPW Tag Team Champs, Siberia and Kowloon Zombie, Zombie Vice Squad! A cry of dismay rose from the audience inside the Ricoh Coliseum upon seeing the appearance of EPW’s Tag Champions on screen. Siberia and Kowloon Zombie sit on the floor in what appears to be a temple. They are on on the floor of a raised platform with an elaborate shrine behind them. Kowloon wears both belts across his shoulders and he sets them aside. Siberia smirks and closes her eyes as she takes the booing in. Katya Djurdjevic: Hello, Siberia and Kowloon. Good to see the evening finds you well. For a brief moment, Katya squints her eyes at the sight of the temple. Katya Djurdjevic: Where are you speaking to us from? Siberia Zombie: We are in Japan at Zombie headquarters. Since we are banned from our home federation then we came to our true home. This is a place where we can reflect on this injustice. Where we can plan to make things right. First it is this suspension and then… we get to talk to you. Siberia leans forward. Siberia Zombie: Are you even an accredited journalist Miss Djurdjevic? What school did you go to? Ooohs and boos come from the crowd at this line of questioning from Siberia. Not anticipating the question, Katya raises her eyebrows. Nonetheless, she still smiles. Katya Djurdjevic: Yes, I didn’t go to a school and I’m not an accredited journalist. I’ve just had a deep interest in interviewing from a young age. And it’s got me a wonderful position in this prestigious company. I couldn’t have done it alone, but I feel it’s worked out for me. Siberia scoffs. Siberia Zombie: So you think… go on then, professional interviewer. Since we are not allowed to show ourselves in the ring we might as well go through you. That is your only use. Ask your questions. Narrowing her eyes slightly at the screen, Katya’s smile takes on a sly quality as she shakes her head slightly. She decides not to rise to the bait however. Katya Djurdjevic: First of all, the EPW fanbase would like to hear it from the horse’s mouth. What drove you to do what you did last week? And why was it that you seemed to focus your assault on Carli Davis and Jessica Anderson in particular? Siberia Zombie: We simply saw that match for what it was. This match was an attempt to undermine us and our championship. They continue to throw us against insurmountable odds, but we will overcome each time. We did so at this instance with force. We needed to do what we did to show the powers that be, our opponents, and the fans that we will not be brushed aside. As for Anderson and Davis? They were simply there. We didn’t need to send yet another message to DeAngelo Dalton and Gemma Pierce. They know they are beneath us and that is where we left them. All the teams in Empire will know that we are the best. It was their turn. Katya raises an eyebrow. Katya Djurdjevic: Yes, and there’s also the matter where this resulted in your suspension. The match also never officially got underway so the defence would be voided. There’s only so many times you can so utterly disregard what was expected of you. What would your plans be if you again found yourselves against insurmountable odds as you say? Siberia Zombie: We will always be against insurmountable odds so we will do what we always do. We will overcome and conquer. We do not call these odds unfair. We just adapt to our circumstances. It does not concern us what the consequences are. The end justify the means as far as we are concerned. Strength is the key. If you show, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are the best, then no one can deny it. Do you believe we are wrong, professional interviewer? Katya’s lips twitch at the dig. Katya Djurdjevic: I bet you have a real cute side somewhere. You just don’t show it. Katya shows a smirk. Katya Djurdjevic: Speaking of being the best, your latest challengers aren’t the only ones questioning your place at the top of the tag division. The Society made their intentions clear last week. They called you out by saying you’re holding [t]their[/i] Tag Team Championships. They ran most of the Ascendancy out of EPW and have turned their attentions back to the titles you so proudly carry. How do you respond to what they’ve said of you as of late? Siberia Zombie: They are greedy children. They should have taken their loss as the wake up call that it was and could have been humble about it. Instead they lash out and demand things. I think they even stated that we stole their titles at one point. Pathetic. They need to work their way up to us. We don’t care what they have accomplished elsewhere or how many followers they have. We have our own people, but we don’t use that as a crutch. It could just be us two against the whole world and we would still thrive. We will accept their challenge for the EPW Tag Team Titles when they earn it in Empire Pro Wrestling. Twirling the microphone in her hand, Katya couldn’t stop one thought coming to mind. Katya Djurdjevic: Speaking of just the two of you, has there been anyone in Empire Pro that you’ve actually come to like? Siberia Zombie: Now that Lauren Parker has been ousted… No. There isn’t one single person in these damned federation that stands up to our ideals. She was the shining light meant to lead all of them into greatness, but they saw it as damnation. The best thing she did was bring us in and we will forever be in her debt. This is why we continue her fight. There is no one else worthy of that. Katya Djurdjevic: And what exactly are the-- The door of the Red Room suddenly thrusts open cutting Katya right in the middle of her question. When the Empire Pro interviewer turns around, she’s surprised to see Benoite D’Arcy Crozier standing on the threshold. The blonde Canadian doesn’t even look at Katya, her eyes locked on Kowloon and Siberia on the screen. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “Your interview is over Katya. I need to talk with the Zombie Vice Squad.” She says those words in a calm, sure and grave voice, not leaving much room for a reply. Katya tries to reply but as soon as she opens her mouth, Benoite glared at her. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “Your presence is no longer required. You can leave now.” Katya stares in those icy blue eyes, seeing a look you never thought you would see from the happy-go-lucky young girl that joined Empire a few months ago. The contagious smile and positive attitude that made her one of the most loved members of the roster are completely gone, lost in those six weeks after No Man’s Land that definitely changed her attitude. Frowning, the young interviewer realises there’s no arguing with what definitely sounds like a veiled threat more than a request. Sighing, Katya decides she better do as told. Once she leaves the Red Room, Benoite takes the interviewer spot and sits in front of the screen. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “Good evening Kowloon and Siberia. I apologize for interrupting your chat with that girl. I was wishing to talk with you in person, but the unrightful suspension you have been victim of forced my hand. And here we are.” Kowloon gets up and glares at the screen Siberia places a hand on his arm and backs him up. Siberia Zombie: “You’re a bold one. I would have Kowloon here seems to want to jump into the screen to wring your little neck, but I’m curious. You also did get on my radar when you got back so… speak. Benoite cracks a smile, showing a brand new confidence. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “You know, a lot of things have changed in the past few months. I remember when we were on opposite sides of a war that saw you siding with Lauren, while I joined the ranks of the so called team No More. Which, in hindsight, was a horrible mistake.” She lowers her head, almost as if she wants to apologize for the choice she just disavowed. Siberia Zombie: “We all made our mistakes in that horror, but regret is not becoming of a warrior. As much as we hate how it turned out, we will admit defeat that time. Raise your head and do not sulk. We don’t. Instead we have turned that loss into a greater victory. What will you do?” Benoite seems to regain the confidence she had when she first stepped in, raising her chin and looking once again at the Tag Team Champions. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “Making up for my mistakes, that’s my plan.” She nods her head, to confirm her statement. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “I see things under a different light now. Rejoining with my father cleared my mind from all the lies I’ve been fed for the past eighteen years. I know who I am now, I found myself and my true calling. I have a new purpose, a mission. And it leads me on your path. You and i, we share the same goals. Maybe we can cooperate and benefit from this alliance. Or at least that’s what we think.” Kowloon sits back and crosses his arms. Siberia Zombie: “Do you know what it means to align yourself with us? You will be alienating yourself from Empire’s chosen elite and from its enemies. Indeed, from the establishment itself. This suspension proves that. We are an entity unto ourselves. This means you can be powerful, but vulnerable so we will not accept weakness. Are you prepared for all of this?” Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “I know what comes from taking your side. I stopped caring about everyone else in this roster when I realized what they really are. Sinners, bad examples… They represent everything that’s wrong in the society, they are the problem, and you are the solution. WE are the solution.” She stands up, approaching the screen. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “Look into my eyes, Siberia. Do you think I’m prepared for what’s coming?” Siberia looks to Kowloon. He slaps his knee and nods slowly with a triumphant frown. Siberia Zombie: “Very well. We will consider you but we must meet in person under more desirable circumstances. You have taken your first step towards a more enlightened state of being, Miss Crozier.” Benoite nods, her lips curling into a smile. Benoite D’Arcy Crozier: “It’s a step I’ve been getting ready to take for quite some time now. We are looking forward to start changing the landscape of Empire with you.” Lowering her head in a light bow, she greets the Zombie Vice Squad and leaves the Red Room. Kowloon laughs and Siberia nods then glares into the screen. Siberia Zombie: We are done here, Miss Djurdjevic. The shot cuts abruptly.
