On DCF we're not supposed to think of "cool thing Y we want" and then find a dragon we can force it onto, but look at the dragon and think of stuff it could do. I agree wholeheartedly, I don't enjoy BSAs that make no sense for the dragon. But on the other hand, I only ever think of BSAs that make sense for the dragon, but are useless for gameplay. It would be nice to have a thread to collect BSA ideas that have no dragon yet in a thread without having to listen to
countless times. I figure we're all mature enough to know, but still enjoy brainstorming. So far I got ... nothing. Other than that we need incubate for hatchlings, but that's been established a thousand times already. |

I definitely want the "tell whether two dragons will refuse" BSA, which is... I think proposed under Omen of Fortune for the Sunsongs? |

x99999999999999999999 on the incubate equivalent for hatchlings. As for anything else, I'll think on it, but I don't have anything off hand. The attitude that you can't think of useful things and then try to find something that works with it because it will always be forcing it is a shame, but since it's so strong and it's so difficult to say anything in the BSA section without getting a warn or a bunch of snipey people, I just haven't tried. Actually I kind of lied. I do want egg freezing in some way shape or form. Whether that's tied to a bsa, and some people have been trying to tie it in, I don't care. I just want it. I also kind of like an idea from a long while back that was shot down. A dragon of some species goes to the cave and steals an egg for you, able to get closer to the other dragons than you. This egg is of a random breed. Allows you to lotto for an egg without spending hours hunting or taking a blocker necessarily. Thing is, it can be literally anything from a pebble to a gold. I liked the idea of minimizing abuse by making the time before you can drop eggs obtained by this method from 5h to 10 or 24h. There was a lot of fuss this would make the game "too easy" and "unfair to people who spend time hunting," but I feel like it adds a twist, has a decent handicap, and would give people who have a very shoddy connection or reflexes a chance to catch when they can't. And it's not a guaranteed rare, by any means. A rare will still be very rare, and you wouldn't be any more likely to get one than you would be to see one in the cave. I'm also fond of something that would let us see the gender of a hatchling sooner. Don't know what premise that would be put under (a dragon who is a pro at anatomy, or boosts their maturity level through education, or is psychic, whatever), but it would be nice to know if I need to replace a misgendered dragon sooner. |

The trouble with hatchling-Incubate is that it's biologically impossible. I mean, so is Incubate, but try telling Dolphinsong that. And the other hundred people who will tell you why doing X to a hatchling won't make it grow up any faster. The only thing I can think of is getting one of the less friendly dragons to somehow traumatize the hatchling, thereby shaving a day's worth of childhood off of its life. I mean, obviously the Vine comes to mind first, but I have a feeling Lyth would have some problems with that. |

Clearly, we need a time dragon to be accepted, not as a rare, and have that be its BSA. That might make sense. |

I also feel like the idea of "Nurture" is not flawed that extremely. Consider, for example, a child with malnutrition. Now of course dragons aren't human children, or other animals, but we all know that animals and people just don't hit sexual maturity as soon if they aren't healthy. You'll see the opposite is true, too. No, a super healthy *baby* isn't going to hit sexual maturity because it's extremely healthy. But a healthy child might hit puberty at ten instead of eighteen. It makes some level of sense. Similarly, emotional maturity often rapidly develops with trauma, but it can also be incurred via guidance and communication by a nurturing caregiver. I'm sure most of us have seen that there are some 10 or 15 year olds more responsible and mature than some 25 and 30 year olds. If there's that much of a span in humans, why couldn't there be that much in dragons? |

On an entirely different note: I'd like to have a BSA that allows me to choose what I get out of a breeding. I don't mean "I want to have a Gold NAO", but having the option to "talk" to the dragon and say "If you won't give me a Gold, rather give me nothing than *other breed I don't want*". This would hopefully reduce the mass-abandoning of unwanted bred eggs. |

+1 support for this. .-. And +7683465 support for hatchie incubate. I don't have any really cool ideas of my own, but I did like the one idea that someone came up with on DCF as an alternative to egg freezing. The one about a dragon [I forget which] going off and collecting pieces of eggshells and having that become your "frozen egg." I dunno what happened to it though. Probably shot down and vaporised. :| |

Perhaps for something like that, there could be a second "drop list" generated each hour. That list would contain a much larger (to understate it) number of eggs than the number that drop in the cave per drop, but it would also be completely hidden, and only that ability could allow an egg from that drop to be selected. Naturally, there would be a fail rate, and if enough people had used the ability already you'd end up getting a failure which is why it would have to be a large enough number of eggs to allow a chance, but not enough so that there was too many left over when each new list was generated? Also, really want a hatchling incubate! And egg-freezing! But I haven't come up with any ideas that haven't been mentioned before myself, yet. |

...That would be a terrible idea, unless it was a joke BSA that did absolutely nothing. And I don't mean like splash, since you got a badge for it. But it'd never happen, they're too rare/hard to get for a BSA, thankfully. |

I think we have enough joke BSAs as it is: Splash (okay, it does something once), summon (took me a year to summon a first GoN), failtility, EQ (which does more harm than good), bite (which doesn't do anything but kill eggs right now)... Really, the only useful BSAs we have right now are incubate, influence and teleport. BSAs I would really like to have on DC: - something that tells you ahead of breeding if two dragons are compatible, maybe even if they are still eggs (or at least one of them is); this way, if you have a potential mate for one of your dragons on your scroll, and realize they will refuse, you can try to trade the egg for another with the same lineage. - something else that will ensure that two dragons will not refuse (pheromone, my lovely) - hatchie incubate - alternates to incubate and hatchie incubate (because they are useful, and not everybody craves an army of reds) - a few scroll-altering BSAs (prank, paint, whatever) - egg freezing BSA (collect/mating interruptus/small teleport (teleport hatchie out of egg, without cracks)?) /because "freezing" real eggs is just plain cruel |

Yes, please =) Maybe this could be something like telling the future...You ask a dragon with great knowledge if two dragons will have a fruitful future ahead of them...or something. I'm thinking of Nebulas - looking at the course of the stars for aeons, predicting the fate of living beings by that. |

From what I remember in the BSA discussions, nebulas are not supposed to be able to predict the future, they just gaze at the stars because they are so beautiful. So we'd need another breed for this. *shrugs* Any ideas? |
